Makenna was very helpful with keeping us on track with our planning and she made our wedding day go so smoothly. She really took care of everything while we just got to enjoy our day. She even swooped in to glue the bride’s shoes when a strap broke. Couldn’t have asked for a better coordinator.
I highly recommend MaKenna and her team! One of the top compliments we received about our wedding was how organized and well-run it was, and how there was always something for our guests to do. MaKenna really helped us think through all the pieces and kept us organized throughout the planning process.
We booked a partial planning package with her, and have been working together for over a year to pull our big day together. For the many months leading up to the day, we had Zoom calls with MaKenna, a very detailed spreadsheet and workback plan that she had created for us, and a couple of in-person meetings at the venue. Two weeks leading up to the wedding, we were in much closer contact with her and she helped us to confirm all the vendors and details. On the wedding day, she was 100% on top of it and seemed to just appear whenever she needed to ask us any questions.
I highly recommend her! If I was having another wedding (hopefully not), I'd hire her again!
MaKenna was incredible to work with!! I cannot recommend her highly enough. From the first call with her through our perfect wedding day, we were so impressed and thankful to have her lead our vendor team! She was incredibly detailed oriented throughout the entire process, and we always knew we were in good hands with MaKenna. What makes MaKenna stand out from other coordinators is that she helps you from the day you book with her, whereas some vendors only coordinate 1-3 months ahead of the wedding. Because of this, we were able to work with Makenna for almost a full year, and could ask questions throughout all stages of the wedding planning process. MaKenna cares about all her couples, sometimes we forgot we were not her only one, as she makes each couple feel so special and cared for. She was always so responsive and just an email away. For your wedding day, the last thing you want is to worry about details day of, she was so thorough leading up to the day of that we knew she had everything under control. It enabled us to sit back and enjoy our day, knowing that she knew everything that was important to us, and had everything taken care of! Again, I cannot recommend MaKenna enough. Just book her, you will not regret it!
If you are booking Deer Park Villa in Fairfax as your wedding venue, you must book MaKenna as your wedding coordinator, she is the absolute best! My husband and I booked MaKenna over a year out, so we had quarterly zoom calls with her leading up to the wedding and one meeting with her at the venue to do a walk through and create a floor plan. You can also reach out to her via email any time and she is quick to respond. MaKenna has done so many weddings at DPV so she knows the place like the back of her hand and can answer any question you could possibly think of. She was so supportive of all our choices (selecting someone outside of the approved caterer list, having late night karaoke, popsicles instead of cake, etc.) and was always willing to find a way to make our vision work. In the month leading up to the wedding, I was feeling a lot of stress about other vendors, but MaKenna always made me feel calm and reassured that everything was going to be okay. We did have one hiccup with a vendor day of, and when I talked to MaKenna about it in the days after our wedding, she graciously helped facilitate a conversation between us and the vendor which ultimately helped us get a partial refund. I am so glad that I hired her because I don't know if every coordinator would go above and beyond like that after the wedding was over. Overall, my wedding was everything I wanted and more and I truly have MaKenna to thank for that. She is so kind, resourceful, organized, and professional. If you are on the fence about whether you even need a coordinator or not, I promise you she is worth every penny. Find a way to add it into your budget because you need her on your team!
We hired MaKenna late in our wedding planning process and wish we had hired her sooner! As soon as you book her, she'll share resources, checklists, and generally be available with advice as you need it. We already had a lot planned before MaKenna came into the picture, but we were so grateful to have her to ask questions and bounce ideas off of. One important thing about her is that she was very familiar with our venue and had worked with many of our vendors before - this made everything smoother because everyone worked well together as a team. We're so glad we hired her!

You cannot find a better wedding planner than MaKenna. She is knowledgable, professional, responsible, AND fun. She brings her personality and vision to her work, which absolutely changes things for the better. The actual magic MaKenna is able to perform is incredible! I was a COVID bride and once we found out my original date would be affected, MaKenna was on top of it. Every detail, vendor etc. was seamlessly transferred to my new date for a year later. She guided us through every detail and some things I hadn't even considered. At times planning a wedding can be extremely overwhelming but MaKenna was right there to answer questions, guide us and ultimately address any concerns or issues. Every friend, who are recently engaged, I have recommended MaKenna's services to. The peace of mind and dedication she provides is priceless! We hired MaKenna for the Full-Service planning and I am so glad that she was there for every moment of the planning experience. MaKenna and Hana carried out each detail perfectly day-of and helped create on of the most special days of me and my Husband's lives.
When we had first started planning our wedding we thought we could do without a wedding planner. Not too far into planning we realized that we were in way over our head and could use all the help we could get. Here enters MaKenna.
We got married at Deer Park Villa and she was a preferred vendor so we knew this would be super helpful for us because she knows her way around the venue. From the very beginning she was very helpful - one of the first questions she asked us was what we wanted for our wedding and what do we potentially see as hurdles or stress factors. It really set the groundwork to create the wedding that we wanted. She made sure that we had the wedding we wanted and then also brainstormed on how we could work out my stressors.
She was also super organized. She sent us a document with many tabs that kept us up to date on our vendors, payments due and their dates and what we still needed to do. Honestly, kept us from losing our minds!
The day of rehearsal and the day of the wedding she was calm, cool and collective. She made sure to get things done and would always check in to give me updates or see how I was doing. Besides the potential rain, our wedding day was perfect. We could not have done it without MaKenna and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to help bring your wedding vision to life.
We recommend MaKenna from Perfectly Planned Moments to literally anyone who will listen. She stuck with us through 2 covid wedding postponements and made the entire process SO much less stressful. MaKenna is incredibly organized, professional, listens carefully to our ideas and vision, and provides valuable input and advice when needed. When we started planning our wedding we weren’t t sure if we needed a coordinator, but it turned out to be the best decision we made. It is obvious MaKenna understands the wedding planning process inside and out, and thought of things we would have completely overlooked- saving us time, energy and heartache!
MaKenna was an absolute dream to work with and not sure if we can put into words how thankful we are that we had her on our big day. Our wedding was originally scheduled for 10/10/2020 and due to the pandemic, we had to push our reception to 2021. We met MaKenna back in 2019 and hit it off; she is extremely professional, patient, flexible and her attention to detail is impeccable. We took a break from planning due to the pandemic and we picked it back up in the beginning of 2021 and she didn’t miss a beat. We had 2 in person and 2 virtual consultations, and each session was well organized and productive. In addition, she was always available via email or text and addressed any questions or concerns with extreme efficiency. What impressive us the most was her attention to detail, nothing gets past MaKenna. Day of, she took care of everything, big or small, MaKenna and her assistant Hana were on it. She ensured our vendors, guests and venue were on time and everything was moving per our agreed upon schedule. She even had a day of minute-by-minute itinerary, in addition, she even printed out individual copies of the day of schedule for our wedding party which we thought was genius! Because of this, we were able to relax and really enjoy our day after 2+ years of planning. Thank you MaKenna and Hana, so happy we had you guys be a part of our special day!
My husband and I would definitely recommend MaKenna in any of your wedding planning. We started planning in February of 2020 and she has answered every question we had along the way. We are so happy we had a planner as the day wouldn't have run as smoothly without her and her assistant helping us out. They were both so organized and helpful on the big day that we didn't need to worry about anything. Everything turned out perfectly!
When I started planning my wedding a year and a half ago I knew a coordinator was the one thing I wasn't willing to negotiate on hiring. We were referred to Perfectly Planned Moments (MaKenna) by another coordinator who wasn't available for our date, and oh my gosh, I couldn't be happier that we found her and hired her as our coordinator/team mate. MaKenna is professional, funny, kind, accommodating, resourceful and understanding. She met with us several times throughout the process to make sure we were on track and on the same page, and she made herself available to us through several methods of communication so we could contact her whenever we needed. It didn't matter how big or small the question was - she took the time to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer it. Her follow through with us and with our vendors was top notch - so much so, that I truly didn't have to worry about things falling through the cracks with her. On the day of the wedding, she made sure everything ran smoothly and she was prepared to tackle problems as they arose (like having several types of adhesive/super glue available when a member of our wedding party broke her shoe - which I didn't even find out about until after the problem was solved.) I cannot express how much having her as a member of our team helped our day run seamlessly and smoothly, and how having her there made me feel at ease throughout the whole day. I enjoyed getting to work alongside her throughout the planning process and legitimately miss talking to her now that our wedding is done. She told me during our initial consultation that one of her favorite parts of this business is getting to become friends with her clients, and now I can say the same thing about getting to work with her. Please - do yourself a favor and hire MaKenna - you will NOT regret it. She was easily the best investment we made for our day, and I will eternally be grateful to her and for her.
There truly are not enough stars on this site available to give MaKenna- I would give her at least double the maximum star value! At this point, knowing MaKenna, and working through numerous wedding reschedules since January 2019 across states, I can truly say that our wedding would not have happened without her keen organization, creativity, patience, savvy, humor, and heart. Through navigating family drama, to tricky vendor scenarios, to even manifesting a custom cheese tower- I knew it was all possible with MaKenna on our side. MaKenna is truly worth her weight in gold and provides support above and beyond what one would expect for her prices (maybe you should charge more, lol!). MaKenna is absolutely the best person to have in your corner on such a big day, and I could not recommend any vendor higher than I can MaKenna.
We hired MaKenna as our wedding coordinator, which means we worked with her from the beginning of the planning process gathering her recommendations on vendors and wedding planning schedule, and then relied on her for in person day-of wedding coordination. Neither of us knew much about wedding planning when we started, but she walked us through her checklist and recommendations so that we felt fully supported to create exactly the party we wanted. Our wedding date was May 1st, 2021, so plans changed several times based on COVID-19 restrictions, but MaKenna was at our side throughout the process guiding any necessary changes with thoughtfulness and creative problem solving that made us feel we could make whatever changes we needed without sacrificing what was important to us to keep. MaKenna knows all of the tips and tricks to creating a stress-free, personalized celebration. She responded to emailed questions and updates promptly throughout the year, so that we just felt like we had an expert on hand at all times. Her attention to detail, can-do attitude, and calm demeanor made it so that we could be fully present for our wedding day with full trust that everything was taken care of. We cannot recommend her highly enough! Thank you, MaKenna, we could not have done this without you!
Words cannot describe how thankful we are for Makenna!! She was truly the BEST wedding planner out there and was also very budget friendly. We had no problems working with her and she was always on top of everything. Most importantly, she was the real MVP on the day of our wedding and we cannot thank her enough! She coordinated all the little details and set up everything that needed to be done. We also had no problem cleaning up at the end of the night because she took care of them! I even planned for a surprise dance and she helped me go smoothly just the way I wanted it to be:) Would definitely recommend her!

We weren’t initially sure how much value hiring a wedding planner would provide but looking back, it made our lives so much easier! MaKenna guided us through making vendor decisions, taking the time to understand our vision and tailoring her recommendations accordingly. From there she managed all the coordination and communication with vendors which was a huge time saver for us. From her expertise, she anticipated the right questions and was consistently two steps ahead of everything.
We entered the process with no idea what we were doing, and, over the course of an 18-month engagement (through a pandemic!) MaKenna expertly provided the guidance and support that was critical to making our day perfect. MaKenna is impeccably organized, somehow never letting a single item fall through the cracks, prompt at communicating (we never had to wait more than a few hours for a response via email, text, or call), and simply a joy to work with - we looked forward to each time we got to meet with MaKenna and were sad when our time working with her ended. In addition, all our family, friends, and guests who had the opportunity to meet MaKenna consistently stressed the same themes.
Throughout the whole process MaKenna guided us through each critical task and worked behind the scenes to manage and help us select our vendors, providing us with the information and guidance necessary, and then on the day of our wedding MaKenna worked tirelessly to ensure that everything went flawlessly. Our families and us thoroughly enjoyed the day of and everyone kept commenting how things “just happened.” Of course, this was all thanks to MaKenna running around behind the scenes making sure vendors were in place, we stuck to the timeline, and taking care of all the details, We cannot stress enough how much more relaxed we felt on the day of our wedding with the confidence and trust that MaKenna was in control of every situation.

MaKenna is absolutely amazing! Not only is she a wonderful person, but she does her job incredibly well. She is one of the most organized people I've ever met and follows through on her every word. She was there for us from the beginning all the way through the end, and I was a lot more calm knowing that she was there by our side. If you're wondering whether or not MaKenna is someone you should hire, stop wondering and hire her ASAP! We can't thank her enough for all she's done for us.
After changing our date, changing our venue, planning and replanning and replanning our wedding during crazy 2020, I can say with the utmost confidence that I would’ve been lost and hopeless without MaKenna. She always knew what to do and what to say. She was incredibly responsive, even when I wasn’t!! I’d get busy with work and start putting the wedding on the back burner because I was so overwhelmed by it and MaKenna would bring me back to center with solutions, with excitement, with ideas, with REMARKABLE organization, with friendship, with encouragement. Honestly she was more than just the best investment we made— she ended up being the happiness and motivation amidst all the chaos and changes. I can not give enough positive regard for Makenna!! From the moment we were under contract she began helping us figure out this wedding planning journey. She had timelines and kept detailed lists of our contacts, vendor notes, budget and so much more! She was always quick to answer our questions and open to our changes. She worked so hard the day of my wedding that I had ZERO STRESS during and did not look at my phone once but got lost of comments stating that we were very timely and it was they best wedding they had been to.

MaKenna and her team are exceptional. As a DJ, I've seen her work first hand, on multiple occasions. She goes above and beyond for her clients. Leading up to the weddings, she is organized and detail oriented, leaving nothing to chance. She is a great coordinator to work with as well. Trust me when I say your other vendors will very much appreciate working with her (which goes a long way on the big day). Put the stress of your wedding in MaKenna's very capable hands, and enjoy your day. You won't be disappointed. I recommend her as often as I can.
Have you ever met someone who gets excited talking about table linens? I have. Her name is MaKenna, and she is truly, incredibly one of a kind.
When I got engaged, I thought that I would be able to plan a dream wedding by myself, but I soon found myself in over my head. It only took one coffee date with MaKenna to realize that she is the real deal, and to hire her onto my wedding planning team.
MaKenna is a great communicator, an advocate for all of her couples, and more organized than my living room right before friends come over. During our monthly meetings, she was always prepared and excited to talk about anything wedding related – including the table linens, which I (admittedly) couldn’t have cared less about. MaKenna made sure that the planning process was as low-stress for my husband and I as possible, and on the day-of she went above and beyond to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
I wish she planned more than just weddings.

MaKenna was our coordinator for our wedding at Deer Park Villa in Fairfax, CA on 11/1/2019. Originally, I thought I could handle everything myself and did not want to hire any coordinator to help me. I booked all my vendors in June and did not know what to expect from there on. One day in September, I realized I had no idea how all the pieces fit together and I reached out for help. MaKenna was very helpful in our phone conversation and I quickly decided to go with her. It was the best decision I made in all my vendor selections for our wedding. She is detail oriented and knows the venue from inside out. She helped me make to-do list and check list and during our bi-monthly coordination meetings so that we stayed on top of our schedule; she always brings new ideas and a plan to accomplish them; she reached out to all my vendors and venue, and coordinated the detail of the day for us. Thanks to her, our wedding was perfect and I did not have to worry about a single thing because MaKenna is there till the end! I would highly recommend anyone who is still debating if you should hire a coordinator to hire MaKenna!
I, very honestly, could not have made my wedding happen without MaKenna! She is just the right amount of sugar and spice with a dash of ingenuity. She really cares for her clients and does her absolute best to make everyone happy, but not at the expense of excellence. As a bride it is so easy to feel completely overwhelmed by people around you who are “just trying to help”. MaKenna was always on my side, always made sure my voice was heard in every decision made, and consistently reassured me that it was MY wedding and not, for instance, my mother’s! Ha!
MaKenna’s professionalism was extremely refreshing. She will be honest with you, laugh with you, and cry with you, while still somehow never missing a deadline—or better yet—letting YOU miss a deadline! I never felt like a bother to her. In fact, communication on her end was phenomenally consistent even in the “little things”. She seemed to have a plan for every possible snag at all times and joyfully took on any stress or concern I expressed.
Life may not be perfect but, impossibly, Perfectly Planned Moments seemed to do just that—perfectly plan my imperfect moments. My wedding day is something I will never forget, yes, but neither is MaKenna’s kindness, leadership, and wholehearted support through it all.
I highly recommend MaKenna! We hired her to coordinate my daughter's wedding and we were so pleased with the result she achieved. She works tirelessly to achieve the couple's vision from the very first consultation. She responds to email nearly instantaneously and treats every question with consideration, no matter how small the issue. She stays in communication constantly in order to understand the couple's goals for the day. My daughter's wedding ran perfectly according to schedule and several guests commented that they had never seen a wedding stay "on time" as ours did. She is calm and capable in the face of any crisis, even helping with last minute sewing repairs to the suits. I will not hesitate to hire MaKenna again for my younger daughter's wedding when the time comes!
It's been almost a month since our wedding, and my husband and I are still beaming. Every last detail was carried out successfully, and I know that we have MaKenna to thank.
I hired MaKenna over a year ago, and ever since she has been quick to respond to our emails, kept in touch with vendors, and has made sure that we thought of every detail necessary for a successful wedding. I was surprised by how many meetings our package included, all of which we walked away from feeling accomplished and organized.
But the most important detail about my experience was that on our big day I was completely stress-free. After a year of planning with MaKenna I knew I had nothing to worry about; and I was absolutely right! Every detail was carried out to perfection, and both my husband and I had the incredible, fairy tale wedding we'd always dreamed we would.

We recently worked with MaKenna to help plan and coordinate our wedding and I cannot say enough about thankful we were to not only have hired someone to help, but truly how grateful we are that it was Makenna! She is beyond amazing and it is worth every penny for those couples who are on the fence. Makenna is not only an advocate for you when working with vendors, but she really gets to know you so she can be sure she is doing what is in your best interest. She said to me in our first meeting " I want you to feel like we are friends during this process, so that you trust me 100%." Let me just say, I am about as type A as they come and I thought it would be incredibly difficult to hand over so much control to a stranger... but MaKenna is not a stranger, she absolutely became one of friends and I after our first meeting I trusted her 100%. Don't be alarmed by how young she may look, she is a rock star and clearly ambitious to be so amazing at what she does at her age. She took 99% of my stress away and handled things with empathy, professionalism and with good humor. I could seriously keep going for days about how happy I am that we found Makenna, but I hope you get the point. You will not be disappointed if you choose her to help with your special day. MaKenna did a fantastic job on our wedding!! We got married in late March and had a little over a year to plan everything. We purchased her full-service package and are so happy we did. MaKenna met with us monthly, agenda in hand, to make sure every detail was thought out in time. She was always a text or email away if we had anything urgent come up. She'll keep you on schedule and within budget if you're like us and not usually on top of that kind of stuff. All of her ideas for ways to make our wedding special were incredibly well-received on the day of. You'll truly see her shine on your wedding day, as no detail will be forgotten about. She worked so hard behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly, all the details we planned were set up, and no guest was left with a bored moment. On top of all that, MaKenna has a great relationship with any vendor she's worked with before - a true testament to how great she is! Guests are still telling us that we had the best wedding they've ever attended, and we owe so much of that to MaKenna.

Makenna was great to work with...i'm not just saying this...it's true! As a professional DJ that's been entertaining at hundreds of weddings over the last several years and have worked with many coordinators she goes above and beyond the norm.
Words cannot express the amount of gratitude I have toward MaKenna. Hiring her to be our wedding coordinator was about the best decision I made during the entire wedding planning process. She worked with our tight budget and created such a beautiful wedding. She met with us several times to keep us on track and even check in to see how we were doing mentally/emotionally. She provided comprehensive planning materials like a checklist (NEED), spreadsheets galore, things to pack for the wedding, things that attendants can do to help out, etc. She had countless little suggestions that contributed a ton to our wedding. MaKenna was always professional and courteous. The week of and day of the wedding were especially stand-out for us. She was excellent at communicating with and coordinating all of the vendors. As the bride, I don't know all of what happened behind the scenes the day of the wedding. I just know that after spending the morning getting ready with the bridesmaids, I came out to a perfectly decorated venue that was everything I had imagined for the wedding and more. Furthermore, the wedding timeline was followed to a tee. The other vendors on our team all commented on how smoothly everything ran. I can't thank MaKenna enough for everything she did for us! She was also very knowledgeable about (and was highly recommended by) our venue, Deer Park Villa in San Rafael, CA. MaKenna was amazingly helpful during the whole process and in particular on the day of the wedding. From 10:00 in the morning until the wedding ended at midnight, she was scurrying around making sure that items were in the right place and everything was on schedule. She kept her sense of humor and calmness throughout. She had my daughter's and her husband's backs as well as mine, the mother of the bride. We are grateful for her presence.

We hired MaKenna for her full planning service and it was one of the best decisions we made, if not the best decision, in our whole wedding planning process. We exchanged hundreds of emails between each other and our vendors throughout this whole process. In the month leading up to the wedding, she took over vendor communications so that we wouldn't have to worry about the final details.
She prepared us during our venue walkthrough for many things that we would never have considered. She helped us draft and revise our comprehensive wedding day timelines. On the day of the wedding, MaKenna singlehandedly set up and packed away all of our decor items (we had so many boxes of decor) while making sure everything happened beautifully and smoothly on the day of. All the deliveries arrived at the correct time and place, and the event flowed perfectly even when our sunset photos had to be moved up in the timeline due to unexpected early sunset.
She checked in with us throughout the night and made sure that each event (our first dance, toasts, etc.) started when we were ready for it to start. After our wedding, our guests could not stop raving about how beautiful and perfect everything was. We simply could not have done it without MaKenna. MaKenna is the best planner! She made our wedding dreams come true. She is very personable, dedicated, hard-working, and so much fun to work with. MaKenna went above and beyond in the planning process and got every task completed efficiently. She made herself available each time we had any questions or concerns and even joined our online meetings with vendors at last minute notice. We had too many decorations, lawn games, and DIY items to fit in our car. MaKenna helped pack our items in her car to take to the wedding venue. There is no way our wedding would have come together so perfectly without her!

The planning process with Makenna was so helpful and she made me feel comfortable asking questions and bouncing ideas off of her. The day of the rehearsal, Makenna did a fantastic job working with the church and our priest, and making adjustments to the ceremony as needed.
The wedding day was so beautiful, and Makenna was the perfect balance of attentive, assertive, and checked in with me regularly, but also let us enjoy our day. I can not thank her enough for the hard work she put in and her sweet and graceful demeanor.

Makenna was absolutely wonderful to work with! She spent about a year and a half helping us plan for our wedding and flawlessly executed our vision the day of. We met with her monthly and she always went through a check list of things that needed to be done or considered for that month to make sure we stayed on track. She is prompt in her email communication and on time for our meetings. Makenna is also great at staying on budget. She outlined a plan based on our budget at the start and kept it up to date as we went. We ended only slightly over budget, but that was our choice. :)
Makenna made sure everyone knew what their role was and where they needed to be starting from the rehearsal. On the day of she checked in on both me and my husband several times to make sure we had food and anything we needed. She fielded all vendor/venue questions, which allowed the entire wedding party to simply enjoy the big day.
We would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wedding planner and we will miss working with her on a regular basis.
If you are looking for a competent, highly organized, emotionally intelligent wedding planner, look no farther. My wife and I originally were going to try to handle the planning ourselves since we thought our wedding would be “simple” enough.
However, I can say with confidence that she was worth every penny. From the meetings and detailed checklists and ground plans, to regular reminders, to the huge peace of mind on the big day when you know you have nothing to fear for you are in good hands. 10/10 would reccomend.
MaKenna was awesome to work with throughout our entire wedding process. Although she was only our day-of coordinator, she met with us monthly starting more than 6 months before the wedding. She is super organized and on top of everything. On our wedding day, she made everything run very smoothly and was there from start to finish. It helped us relax and actually enjoy the whole day. MaKenna is a very organized, easy person to work with, and always has a backup plan. As a photographer working with her at a styled shoot she organized, she let me do my job while also giving input clarifying her vision for the photos. During the planning process, she communicated with me clearly and provided all the information I needed to know in well thought-out lists, and she took care to make sure that everyone was where they needed to be and was comfortable. I am hoping to work with MaKenna again, and highly recommend working with her as a vendor or client.

I was the florist for a wedding Perfectly Planned Moments planned. It was wonderful having another point of contact, as the bride was very busy and some details were best left with the planner. MaKenna was so thorough with emails and phone calls, making sure every aspect of the day would go as planned. She was a true professional and made a great impression on me as a vendor. The wedding was executed flawlessly and the bride was at ease throughout the day.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with Makenna from beginning to end. Mostly, the end. When searching through the hundreds of wedding planners available its completely overwhelming. We chose Makenna initially because she was the only one who asked us what we wanted for our wedding, which was very refreshing. We had several phone calls where the planners were instilling their vision to our day. However, looking back on it guidance is what we needed.
During our meetings she seemed disorganized as there was no structure and we needed to repeat ourselves often. We left each of our meetings more stressed than before, she would ask us things like "what if its really windy?", "how should I coordinate the bridal party walking down?", "how far away should the guest be seated from the bridal party?". Which are all things we would have no way of knowing and were hoping she would be able to handle. We hired a wedding planner to find solutions for any problems that would arise on the day of.
When we gave her the desired layout for our tables she had us make an 'A' 'B' and 'C' plan because she was unsure if the tables would fit in the configuration we wanted. So my husband and I did what she should've done, we went to the venue and measured it. It fit with room to spare. Instead, we stressed about having a funky configuration because she didn't think to measure the layout. My husband had to draw a detailed lay-out and map of the grounds to guide her and her set up.
She was 45 minutes late to our wedding rehearsal and showed up with a venti sized ice-blended coffee that was FULL. On the day of our wedding the company for the chairs & tables called ME because she had not arrived yet and were waiting for direction on how to arrange the tables. My husband spent the morning of our wedding directing the venue staff on decorating, even though we had a walk through with Makenna the day before for specific details for our wedding. We asked that she help in timing of our arrival to the venue since we weren't doing a first look, but she had no clue when my MOH called her to get the all-clear. Instead, we organized it with the BM. One very clear request we had was to ensure that cars didn't park in the small area in-front of the door to the winery since they would be in all of the photos, we also spoke to the winery staff. When I arrived at the venue there were about 20 cars parked in that same area, I had to ask her twice to make sure they could be moved.
My husbands sister, brother-in-law and kids who were all a part of the bridal party got a flat tire on the way to the ceremony. The ceremony was to start at 0400, they got it fixed and back on their way by 345 with an ETA of 15min. Makenna was pushing us to start without them. That would've meant we had no flower girl, ring bearer, and my husbands own sister would've missed our ceremony. During the wedding I saw her and her assistant on their cellphones several times while I was trying to get their attention.
I will say she was very supportive and responsive in communicating up to the day. However her suggestions lacked practicality and was nothing we didn't already think of. For this reason we frequently sought out advice from other professionals. Maybe this is something that she will get better at with more experience.
While MaKenna has been pursuing her wedding planning and coordination business for a year and a half at full throttle, her poise and professionalism makes it seem as though she has 20 years of experience in the business! She has a calming demeanor that is exactly what I needed as a stressed bride with a busy job and little time to plan my own wedding. We started working with her a year before our event and she was there to help coach us every step of the away as questions arose. She returns emails, texts and phone calls promptly, puts care into every bit of communication, and anticipates bride/groom needs in a way that's nothing short of impressive. Due to my husband and I's planning, we actually ran out of booze the first few hours of our wedding. But fear not! MaKenna guided our staffing team to make a Safeway run during the event, informed us (the bride/groom) of the extra purchase so it wasn't a shocker later, and our guests never even noticed. That's one of many examples of how MaKenna knows how to solve a problem without it ever turning into an issue. I also wanted to point out that she's great in handling varied bride-groom opinions. My husband and I didn't agree on some things throughout our wedding planning process and every time we had differing opinions in front of MaKenna, she calmly suggested solutions that met both of our concerns or pointed out if something didn't need to be discussed further, i.e. move on to the bigger ticket items vs. over-discussing details. I appreciated this as it helped us with momentum in our planning. I'm super confident that MaKenna's business will continue to thrive in the years to come! Thanks, MaKenna! We truly couldn't have done this without you.
