We had our wedding at Persimmon on July 25th and couldn't be happier with the venue. Samantha and Krystle are both amazing and super helpful. When we first started looking for a venue, we didn't initially contact Persimmon thinking they would be way out of our price range. After touring a few other places first we were not thrilled with our options. We reached out to Persimmon to gather more information. Samantha responded fairly quickly and gave us a variety of options that would fit within our budget. We scheduled a tour and instantly fell in love with Persimmon. The views are just gorgeous! On the tour we were informed of everything that is included in the space rental. They have a variety of centerpieces available to use, multiple archways that could be used for ceremony or reception, multiple linen options, and sound equipment that can be used. They also take care of setting up tables and chairs, and will help put out your own decorations. After our venue tour, we knew that Persimmon was where we were going to have our wedding. We were so impressed by everything that Persimmon includes in their rentals. Other venues that we looked at seemed to charge for every little thing, and Persimmon was not like that. You can tell they really want to make your day special without having you break the bank. Krystle was so helpful in coordinating our wedding. She helped us decide how we wanted chairs setup for the ceremony, the floor plan for the reception, as well as nailing down a general timeline for the day. She even contacted us about potentially rearranging the reception layout, because of things that she noticed for the weddings the weekend before ours. We are so happy that we had our wedding at Persimmon and couldn't imagine having it anywhere else! Thank you again Krystle, Samantha, and your entire staff!
COVID wedding review: when we booked persimmon last year we were looking for a venue with an outdoor and indoor space, that could provide catering, tables, chairs, linens and those were such a relief to not have to deal with separate vendors for each of those items. Throughout the stages of rules and regulations for COVID, Madison, the venue event coordinator reassured us and she and Sam worked with us to modify our contract once we had an idea of what would be allowed. We ended up being able to have 25 people (us included) for a ceremony and cocktail hour style reception. The staff all wore masks and ensured food was served without anyone but the person eating it having touched, there was hand sanitizer readily available but not noticeable, and we still got to have a gorgeous ceremony outside with a view of Mt Hood. Incredibly responsive and flexible with planning, beautiful venue AND we got to go around the course to take pictures without masks of just the two of us.
Jayde did an amazing job in planning my perfect wedding reception at Persimmon Country Club! We were very lucky to get this venue as before we were having troubling getting reservations at locations that we really wanted, but they were getting booked up fast! Out of a hunch, my mom and I drove over to Persimmon just to get an idea if the venue was open and not only were we welcomed in with open arms, but we found it available and we booked it right away! The process of planning was simple and easy and Jayde made it a lot of fun to plan. The appetizers were super delicious and the workers who helped during the reception did an outstanding job. I am thankful I could hold my special day at this gorgeous venue and all thanks for Jayde for making it happen. Thank you!! (Wedding reception: August 11, 2017)
Our August 2016 wedding was everything I had ever dreamed of and it was largely due to the fabulous staff at Persimmon Country Club. If you are looking for that "high-class" feel, but with friendly, flexible, and encouraging staff this is your spot! Persimmon only books one wedding per weekend so you feel like you are their priority. While it isn't always guaranteed, I was able to set up the day before our wedding which allowed me to completely relax on wedding day. They are so accommodating that at one point the events director was measuring the ceilings for me and putting it on a to-scale diagram so I could be sure all my hanging decorations would fit and be centered over the rest of the room. Other country clubs we visited made it feel like we were just visitors that had to abide to strict rules and we never felt like we were being welcomed or invited to use their space. I just can't speak enough to their kindness and genuine desire to make our day wonderful. I would HIGHLY encourage anyone to book their wedding or event here!
We booked Persimmon Country Club for our wedding in September 2016 and could not have been happier with how everything turned out! From coordinating with Jayde before the wedding, to the day of, everything was smooth and all of the staff were amazing to work with. My husband and I had a vision for our wedding of "country chic.” Jayde and the staff at Persimmon helped that vision come to light. From allowing us to come in early the week before our wedding to hang lights from the ceiling, driving us around the golf course to choose photography locations, we could not have asked for a better experience. I myself have a number of severe food allergies; Jayde took the time to work with the chef at Persimmon to make a personalized menu so that I would be able to have a special meal on our big day.
My husband and I had a six month engagement. To some it might seem impossible to plan a wedding in such a short amount of time but with the staff at Persimmon it was a breeze. Jayde and the staff worked with our vendors to coordinate day of arrangements, which took the stress off of my husband and I. She was open to all of our ideas and turned them into realities. Thanks to Persimmon Country Club, our wedding day was more than we ever dreamt it could be.
We booked Persimmon for our wedding in August 2016 for the AMAZING view. Little did we know but we would be getting much much more. I don't have enough words to describe how impressed and happy I am with Persimmon for our wedding. They met every single one of our requests... and there were ALOT. We had a large wedding consisting of 275 guests but Jayde, Kyle and the staff made sure to accommodate each and every one of our guests. They made sure our elderly guests were able to get around easily; made many special meal requests for our elderly, children, vegetarian, and lactose intolerant guests; and even put together an entire inventory list for their supply closet that they allowed us to use. We had so many guests comment on how well they were treated and how they felt much more welcomed than any other country club they had been to.
The menu and package flexibility was phenomenal. They have so many options to work with our budget and made sure we got everything we wanted. The food was awesome, use of their massive supply closet was so helpful, and use of their dance floor and wedding arc were all very affordable. We knew we were in the right hands when we showed up at an early 7am in the morning and our bridal suite was completely decked out!
Now about Jayde Hall the Persimmon coordinator. We had a long 2 year engagement and Jayde worked with us all throughout that time to make sure every single detail we thought of was carried out. Jayde truly touched our hearts. She not only was efficient, attentive and caring but she treated us as if we were family. I truly don't think our wedding would have been the same without Jayde.
Jayde took care of everything! From the amazing ceremony site and reception site, to the amazing food and help, it was perfect! She will do however much or little you want her to! Get married here people, it was so smooth!!!
The event coordinator was just amazing. Once in a while difficult to get ahold of but hardly worth taking a star off. She was so incredibly helpful!!!
My wedding turned out wonderful. The service the day of my wedding was top notch, Jayde- the director of catering is amazing! The only reason I did not rate them at 5 stars is because the event director that I originally worked with was no longer with them about 2 months before my wedding and I felt like a heads up would be have been so nice! I would still 100% recommend this venue, it is gorgeous, affordable and you have a day of coordinator which is not typical of a lot of places.
The amenities at PCC were very accommodating for a wedding of 150 or more. The view from the ceremony site was beautiful. My elegant wedding was very impressive to my guests and the site was perfect for my vision. They recently had a change in event coordination and which was a struggle to adjust with due it happening 3 months before my wedding, while having planned the whole day with the previous coordinator. There were some things promised to us from the old coordinator, that were not followed through on with the new coordinator. Nothing major, but better transition and training of the new coordinator would have been helpful to reduce the stress on our BIG DAY.
The scenery at Persimmon is absolutely breathtaking and we happened to luck out with the weather in mid-September.
We were very impressed with how helpful and polite all of the staff were. Even though the director was on emergency leave, everyone was prepped and ready to go for our wedding.
Very worth the price, which is a bit spendy. But the open bar for beer and wine is quite the deal (it's per person, not per keg or bottles of wine).
We loved it and couldn't be happier with our choice.
Our 6th daughter, Rachael was married at Persimmon on July 27th, after putting on 5 weddings for our first 5 daughters I have to say I wish I had the experience we had at Persimmon, I would have had the first 5 weddings there. Amanda was nothing short of amazing...she pulled out all the stops to give us the perfect day. From rehearsal to clean up she was there to make sure we had everything we needed. The flexibility Persimmon showed us was terrific, when we needed something changed that didn't quite seem right they got in gear and changed it, even when we decided we liked it better the way they had it they changed it back with no complaints.
One of the most special things Persimmon did was to arrange a "First Look" for Rachael and Crosby, they took them to a private part of the golf course on two different golf carts and gave them privacy to see each other, of course the photographer was there... Very special. I asked Amanda to check in with me afterward and let me know how it went, I did try to persuade her to let me go with them and watch, she held her ground... it was just the two of them. Amanda came to the brides dressing room afterward and gave me specific details....
I'm so glad we had both the wedding and reception at Persimmon, especially since it was a summer wedding.
I would recommend anyone that is looking for the perfect venue for their wedding and reception to check out Persimmon.
Persimmon was amazing. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an outdoor/indoor summer wedding spot. Both Julie (former venue coordinator) and Amanda (current coordinator) have been attentive, professional, responsive, helpful, kind and dedicated throughout the entire process. We thank them very much for making the day so special and worry free!
I cried when I saw the ceremony spot – it’s a bride’s dream, I promise.
Other pros:
The best two features hands down are the amazing scenery and the fact that the bridal suite is in the same building as the reception hall and you have it all day to get ready in. It made the day extremely enjoyable and my bridal party really appreciated all that space and privacy while getting ready and to store our belongings. I would recommend Persimmon to brides based on that alone.
Everyone commented on how beautiful the venue was and how well the wedding and reception came together. This place is exactly what I picture when I picture a summer wedding. It's simply gorgeous and the most ideal spot. It’s made for weddings.
Cons:
The only negative feedback I have came from wedding party/guest comments - the groomsmen wished they had more than a conference room to get ready in (and a mirror to look in), and the venue ran out of food (we did the appetizer option, which was not much less expensive than the plated option, for our late evening wedding). My wedding party didn't get to eat, which I am disappointed in, but I did hear the food was wonderful and well received by those who got to enjoy it.
All in all, if I had to do it again, I would choose Persimmon in a heartbeat! I can’t picture my wedding anywhere else.
I had my wedding at Persimmon's in July 2012. Julie, the events coordinator was over nice and helpful. She was there on the wedding day helping to make sure everything went smoothly and everything got setup in the right places. The area is beautiful and on this sunny day in July My. Hood looked beautiful in the background. Thank you Julie and the Persimmons event staff!
We use Persimmon country club and they did an excellent job! They were working with us every step of the way and willing to make changes for us upon our request. They were great! And their country club is absolutely beautiful!
The day itself turned out beautifully but getting there was a little rough.
It felt like the coordinator was pretty inexperienced. It took longer than expected to get responses to questions and requests and with a country club that I personally belong to, I expected more. It felt like we had to force the issue to get many things resolved.
The worst part was when we received our final contract a couple weeks before the wedding and there was this clause "there will be a $250 charge per hour if you are onsite earlier than 2 hours prior to the wedding." Um, excuse me? I'm a member and I'm pretty sure I already pay a fee every month to be there when I please.
There were a lot of questions that weren't buttoned up and answered ahead of time and it felt like we had to ask about each specific item to get an answer. Like I said before, I expected more.
