Absolutely loved working with Dawn for our wedding last May! We felt so comfortable with her after our first meeting and knew that she would be able to create our vision for flowers (okay, my vision). I told her I wanted to incorporate some lilacs from my parents yard if they happened to be in bloom, and she was more that willing to work with us even though it would we didn't know until the week before. We were also able to work in some apple blossoms from the yard, which looked awesome in the centerpieces! We wanted eucalyptus runners down the long tables, and she was very transparent with us about a week before the wedding, telling us that eucalyptus wasn't looking good. She got us bay leaf runners instead, which we were skeptical about but they wound up looking great. Another point - I was hesitant about my own bouquet after seeing the quote for it ($210 for a bouquet! I imagine it would be something huge and extravagant) and she was very understanding that we were trying to watch our costs. She recommended that we cut back elsewhere instead of my bouquet, since it would be highlighted more than anything else. We wound up removing some greenery from our ceremony, since we were at the chapel for such a short period of time. I'm so glad I stuck with my bouquet! It had some of our lilacs in it too, which was a nice personal touch to have on the day of our wedding. Highly recommend! Just remember that flowers aren't cheap (think about the process of growing and shipping them.. not easy!), and you get what you pay for!

If you are having a small wedding with a floral budget under $1k, don't waste your time contacting them. They don't want your business.

From my mom: I ordered the Cross-Back Chairs w/ivory pad for my daughter’s wedding. The chairs were beautiful and were much more comfortable than folding chairs would have been. Petal and Forrest delivered them and picked them up at exactly the time that I specified. They even sent the invoice by email and I paid with PayPal online. I didn’t have to go to their store, didn’t have to write a check, I didn’t even have to wait for them for delivery or pick up. The whole rental process was so easy and seamless. I highly recommend them for any event needs.

It's simple: Dawn and her team are the best. She was flexible, understanding and creative, utilizing my Pinterest wedding board for ideas and coming up with beautiful ideas on her own. When I walked into the reception hall, I gasped at how stunning and lovely it all was, and I couldn't be happier with how everything looked. Our guests also gushed at the beauty of it all. Dawn was the perfect collaborator and designer for my wedding day—I'd happily recommend her again and again.

Dawn did an amazing job! All I had to tell her were our colors, what we needed, and our budget. She was not at all pushy and created beautiful bouquets within our limited budget. She was friendly, responsive, and extremely professional and does exceptional work. Thank you so much!

Dawn and her team did an absolutely amazing job with decorating our reception hall as well as our church. I did not have to give her much information except to show her a couple pictures and color scheme and she went running with it. It was exactly what I had wanted but wouldn't have known how to do it myself.

Dawn and her staff were amazing to work with for my wedding! She handled all flowers and helped with the extra decorations at the reception! Everything was beautiful and perfect! I don't know much about flowers and after meeting her the first time I had full trust in her that my wedding flowers were going to be gorgeous. I will hire Dawn for everything flower in the future!

Dawn is amazing. They did all of our wedding flowers, linen rentals, chair rentals, and apothecary jar rental. I wanted to book a florist and rental vendor together so Petal & Forrest was perfect. She provided us with an inspiration board after our initial consultation which was so cool and unique! She was always responsive and flexible. She truly understood my vision for the wedding and was able to execute it marvelously. Our flowers and decor were so beautiful on our wedding day. I would highly recommend Petal & Forrest.

We had our wedding at the Country Club of Lansing, where Dawn is one of the preferred vendors. I'm so glad she did our flowers! I didn't give her much to go on, but she grasped what I had in mind SO well and they turned out better than I had imagined. It also pays to have a vendor that knows your venue- she knew about a couple extra components of the venue that would need decorating that I hadn't even thought of. So thankful!!

Dawn at Petal & Forrest was wonderful to work with while preparing for my August wedding! She was highly professional and truly creative. She intently listened to my ideas, explained how she could expand upon them, and the outcome was awesome! I was really dreading my centerpieces - I didn't know what I wanted or how to make them look nice - but Dawn came up with a list of creative options that I truly loved. She also did a great job of working with our budget.

Dawn is simply amazing at what she does! I had a vision for our wedding and she completely understood what I was looking for and created something straight out of a fairytale. The decor/flowers/lighting/and other details were all beautifully put together and totally transformed our venue with a beautiful ambiance. Dawn was a pleasure to work with. I don't know much about flowers but Dawn is a professional and knows how to do her job. We didn't want to spend a ton of money on flowers since we aren't very picky about them. I also wanted someone to help me with my vision. Dawn was able to stay within our budget while making beautiful bouquets, boutonnieres, and arrangements. When I started to worry a month before the wedding that the centerpieces might look rustic she helped calm my fears and made some changes to our previous plans. The flowers were gorgeous. Dawn is very creative and flexible. I would recommend her to anyone.

I cannot recommend Dawn highly enough. She was so creative and helpful, and really listened to what I wanted. She listened to my ideas and and took them to the next level. She has great connections to vendors. I got the impression that she completely understood my vision for the wedding and ran with it, adding her own expertise. As a flower lover, she was the perfect florist for me.

Dawn was super easy to work with - she took my vision and turned it into gorgeous bouquets and boutonnieres. She seemed willing and excited to work with me to create a non-traditional bouquet (no roses) and even sent me a list of the wildflowers that were available at the time of my wedding, which was really appreciated especially as an out-of-town bride. Her creative touches really added to overall wedding day. I highly recommend working with Dawn at Petal & Forrest.

Petal & Forrest did the flowers and event decor for my September wedding. I could not have chosen a better vendor to have worked with on my wedding day. I have worked with Dawn on a personal and professional level for years and when it came time to choose who would do the flowers and decor for my September wedding there was absolutely no question. I completely trusted her and gave little guidance. What she came up with was more than I ever could have imagined. Not only were my husband, our families and I thrilled with her work but our guests raved about the decor for weeks following the wedding and even to this day! If you want a company that is incredibly talented, cares about you as a client and goes above and beyond then look no further than Petal & Forrest.

The flowers were really pretty however, the corsages fell apart and the groom's boutineer fell apart right before the ceremony, because the flowers weren't wrapped in wire like they're supposed to be.

Petal and Forrest turned our big ballroom room into an elegant garden party! The flowers were amazing. People could not stop commenting. We had a wide range of colors and everywhere you looked there were more stunning flowers. Rachel was so helpful in looking at things I found and turning them into an elegant reality. She answered my late night emails and was very patient and flexible. She took decorations that my family had made - pinwheels, signs, and pom poms - and incorporated them into the decor. Additionally, we rented gold chivari chairs through them and this completed the look. The chapel had beautiful but not over the top flowers and ribbons. My bouquet was absolutely stunning. All attendants and corsages looked absolutely beautiful. My husband and I when looking through our wedding photos could not fail to notice the beauty of the flowers in each snap. Petal and Forrest completely got my vision and helped make our day over the top!!

Petal and Forrest created such beautiful and gorgeous flowers for our wedding! It was so much fun to meet and work with Dawn Hall, and she did a fantastic job making my vision of our bridal party flowers come to life. My contemporary bouquet was stunning! I also loved the cute pomander balls for the flower girls, along with the groomsmen corsages and bridesmaid bouquets. Dawn was always quick to respond to emails with any questions I had. They are so reasonable and delivered right on time to our ceremony location. Dawn, I just wanted to thank you so very much for creating such stunning and unique bouquets, boutonnières, and corsages. We LOVED them all! :)

Petal and Forrest did a wonderful job with our flowers. Everything turned out beautifully and Dawn was willing to put together some things other florists were wary of (a ranunculus corsage and mini gerbera corsages for example). My bouquet was GORGEOUS and I loved the way everything turned out. The only glitch was we were short a corsage, but we were able to make one quickly with flowers from the main altar arrangement, so it ended up being okay. I would recommend this vendor - they do quality work!

Dawn was so easy to work with and to contact as well with all my questions. I had the linens to the hall and all the flowers for ceremony, reception, bouquets, corsages, and buttoners. I remember sisters weddings had paid a lot for the flowers. Petal & Forrest was so much more economical, but also the quality of the flowers was far better them as well. They were abundant with flowers and not mainly green leaves like my sisters weddings. They were very lush and beautiful arrangements. They exceeded my expectations, and followed the color scheme I was looking for. I could not have asked for better flowers.

They are easy to work with - attentive and responsive. They will work with you to figure out what kind of style you want. They are reliable and stylish. Not your average wedding florist!

I absolutely loved my flowers! Dawn did a great job of figuring out exactly what I wanted and giving it to me! I loved it!

I worked with Dawn Hall and was very, very happy! She is a good listener and a great floral designer. She was able to help me select stylish arrangements and when I saw them on my wedding day I was more than happy! The prices are competitive and she's very quick on responses through the planning process. Dawn provided us with flowers for the wedding party/family only but I've seen their shop and website and know they could decorate an entire venue beautifully.

I had seen what Petal & Forrest had done in the past so my only direction was color and two flowers to incorporate. We wanted pink and orange, and I wanted to include peonies and poppies. The result was magical. The entire tent smelled like a garden. The number one compliment from our wedding was my bouquet. I would work with them again in a second.

I worked with Dawn at Petal & Forrest and we put together a floral and decor package. Dawn was great and willing to meet with me whenever I came to town so we could work on the details. I'll start by saying that the flowers at the wedding and reception were amazing, and the banquet captain told me that he'd never seen that ballroom look more beautiful. They did a great job with the ceremony decor and head table and rememberance table at the reception, and many guests told me how great the entire room looked. I have to agree that on the whole, the room looked wonderful. That being said, there were a number of issues. First, there were orchids falling out of my bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets all day. There's no way that flowers should be falling out of the bouquets, let alone ALL of the bouquets. Also, the flower arrangement on the escort card table did not contain the flowers we agreed upon in our contract, and the groom's boutonniere was totally wrong. The boutonniere was supposed to be a frilly orange tulip. Instead we got a dead tulip that was purple and green (neither color was used in wedding colors). Luckily Petal & Forrest left us a spare groomsmen's bout that we were able to use on the groom. Finally, I was very upset that an employee of Petal & Forrest came to my reception about an hour before it was scheduled to end and started removing flower arrangements and linens from the tables well before the party ended. This was embarrassing, because our guests kept asking if we were being kicked out of the room. Apparently there were also a lot of issues with the uplighting that was used in the room, since my DOC told me that they kept blowing circuits in the reception hall all night (which I noticed once when it blew the circuit the DJ was on, causing the room to go silent for 5 minutes). I called Dawn and she took responsibility for the missteps and did what she could to make it right. Overall, our wedding and reception were beautiful and our guests didn't notice that most of this had gone on.

From the first meeting until the day of the wedding, Dawn understood my daughter's vision and captured it with beauty and elegance. Dawn thinks outside the box and works within your budget. I felt that my daughter's wedding was the most important function she was working on and she is a consummate professional.

I chose Petal & Forrest to do my wedding and am SO glad I did! They were easily the best vendor I hired. Dawn was so easy to work with and had great vision for what I could barely express that I wanted! They gave me beautiful arrangements and a very cool and unique backdrop for my wedding ceremony, and were extremely helpful and professional the whole way. Do yourself a favor and hire them!

Stop looking for a florist because Petal and Forrest is it. Hands down, they are worth every cent and will make your venue, no matter where it takes place, absolutely beautiful! Rachel was very easy to work with and was very professional. She took my likes and suggestions and created a masterpiece that I never would have envisioned myself. I'm not one for extravagant decoratons or gaudy centerpieces, and fortunately for me, I didnt need them because the flowers were showstoppers enough on thier own. Put down the phonebook and stop googling florists around Lansing. Petal and Forrest is the place to go!

I had a lot of difficulty envisioning ceremony flower and bouquet arrangements to go with my theme and colors; I had some recommendations for flowers, but couldn't quite picture how I could make them fit together. Petal & Forrest did an amazing job of not only fitting in the flowers I wanted, but also incorporating other flowers and greens that produced truly unique arrangements that my guests raved about. I was very impressed with this ability to take my vague visions and solidify them into something that fit my wedding perfectly. They were also very easy to communicate with and very efficient in providing us with quick cost estimates and other information we needed to help us make our decision about flowers. These ladies work hard and what they produce is worth every penny!

I had petal and florist do my flowers for my July 10, 2010 wedding nad they were amazing!!! The colors were perfect, the size was perfect. Everything was beautiful. I told them what colors i was looking for but I didn't really know what flowers I wanted. They gave me their thoughts after telling them what everything would look like. I kind of put them in charge and everything turned out perfect!!!!

Petal & Forrest did the most amazing job with my wedding! They really go above and beyond to make your special day amazing. These ladies are so great and so creative, the whole process was so much fun - not at all stressful!! We thought everything looked stunning in person, but everything looks just as beautiful in all of our photos, too! I'm not the kind of bride who's super into flowers- they look pretty but I've always wondered why they have to be so expensive?! Well, Petal and Forrest have some of the most beautiful examples of floral arrangements I have ever seen. I went to visit Dawn of Petal and Forrest after my friend booked her for her wedding in May. Dawn understood exactly what I was looking for- I had a picture in my head and Dawn found one in real life that was exactly what I wanted! They were affordable (one florist I met with wanted TWICE the price Petal and Forrest quoted me for the exact same thing!) and very flexible (I forgot to send my final payment and they weren't upset that it was a week late!). The bouquets were beautiful, I have absolutely no complaints. Petal and Forrest were great to work with and if I had to do my wedding over, I would book them in a heartbeat. Just go visit their super stylish showroom and peruse through their scrapbooks of arrangements and events they have done- it should be enough to convince you to book them!
