Peter Miles & The MILES Band

We had Peter Miles do our ceremony music and we were absolutely blown away! He was very easy to communicate with and was so patient as we were navigating the specifics of the day. He has a large catalogue of songs and even offered to learn a song for our recessional. Peter is so talented and has a gorgeous singing voice - as the bride, I had the privilege of being behind our guests when he started to sing and got to see everybody’s reaction to his beautiful voice. It was a very cool memory to have for the day.

They were fantastic!!! First, they're a solid band. To paraphrase the great Mark Knopfler: "...the boys can play!" Second, they aim to make their gigs memorable. To wit: They were our wedding band. We LOVED working with Miles & having the Miles Band at our wedding!! The music was great and everyone was on the dancefloor the whole reception! We received countless comments from guests about how much they all enjoyed the music selection & how much fun energy they brought to the whole night. Miles was just as great during the planning process leading up to our big day too. As big live music fans, we knew we wanted a band over a DJ and we originally considered the Miles Band because of their different pricing offers & options. Miles was flexible about allowing us to change how many band members were included (ultimately we went with the full 6 piece band!) and even added on additional options for ceremony music and the Jazz Trio for our cocktail hour! The band was able to learn & play a few of our specialty dance songs as well, which added a special touch to the night! My husband and I were married at the Grafton Inn in June. After hearing Peter Miles perform several times at the Phelps Barn pub, we asked him to sing at our welcome bonfire. What a talented musician! Our guests loved the relaxed vibe of the night and told us over and over how much they enjoyed the music, which ranged from vintage James Taylor to Ed Sheehan covers, and included some fantastic original songs as well. Miles and his band are absolutely fantastic. They are amazing musicians, have an extensive, varied repertoire (with music for all generations) and are very personable as well. Guests of all ages were dancing all night. People kept coming up to me to tell me how amazing the band was. I had seen them in concert a number of times over the years and was SO excited when they were available to play for my son's wedding. They did not disappoint! Miles was also a pleasure to work with. He was generous with his time before the wedding and not only helped us plan the timeline, but made sure he understood my son and daughter -in-law’s vision of the reception and was able to provide exactly what they wanted. He also provided the music for the ceremony and played solo for appetizers and that all was perfect as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better performance or band!!!

I've fortunately had the opportunity to work with Miles and his band many times, as I'm the Event Coordinator, for a popular Inn that regularly hosts weddings in Southern Vermont. Peter Miles & the Miles Band were fantastic. Peter's warmth shone through his emails and he was flexible as we rescheduled and readjusted our event due to Covid-19. Peter has a beautiful voice and our guests, many of whom are musicians, shared how impressed they were with the quality of the music. Peter did a great rendition of "Forever Young" by Rhianonn Gidden and was flexible and supportive when my husband and I asked to sing a song in lieu of a first dance. The jazz trio was also wonderful. I couldn't say more positive thing about this band!

The MILES band was an awesome addition to our wedding day and I would recommend them to the highest degree. From our first communications months ahead of time to the day of, Miles was prompt, professional, and friendly. He performed solo acoustic for our ceremony, emceed our event and brought the whole five-piece band for our reception. The range of his performances was spectacular, from intimate and calm to full-scale party, the energy he brought was always perfect for the moment! Our venue had very strict decibel limitations and he was very flexible and willing to work with our coordinators to ensure he could deliver the very best experience. Days afterwards, the staff went out of their way to comment that the band was the best one they had ever hosted at the venue. My wife and I put live music high on our list of priorities and I can say with confidence that Miles and his band absolutely delivered on all fronts. We cannot wait to hear him play again and will be searching for any opportunity to do so!

We had the chance to see Miles play at Mount Snow before hiring him and loved the sound of his voice. Let me tell you, whether you hire him, the jazz trio or the band (we had all three throughout the day), you will not be disappointed. They played all night, keeping everyone singing and dancing. They played mostly classic rock hits and a few newer modern songs, which is exactly what we wanted. Miles nailed our first dance to "The Bones" by Maren Morris. All of them were extremely nice and flexible. You won't regret hiring them!

We are so happy we hired The Miles Band for our wedding day!! The band was so easy to work with from our first inquiries down to the very last song on our wedding day. I can't speak highly enough of the professionalism this band has both on and off stage. They were punctual, organized, and quite honestly put on an excellent show. The band covers so many genres of music, knows a ton of songs, and does all of them really well. It was so awesome to see people in their teens/early 20s all the way to 70s out on the dance floor enjoying the music. Miles was the perfect addition to our outdoor welcome party - he is such a skilled musician and played lovely songs that were perfect for the evening - we are still getting compliments on how great he was. Miles and his band were AMAZING. Every single guest complimented the music from start to finish. Miles sang and played solo acoustic guitar for our ceremony, which set the perfect mood. For our cocktail hour, Miles offered a fantastic jazz trio. They learned an impressive list of our favorite Bossa Nova tunes, and played them beautifully. For dancing, we enjoyed the full sound of their whole ensemble, including a fantastic female vocalist. They kept us all on the dance floor, all night long! The whole band also looked great - dressed stylishly and appropriately. I was surprised that the band only took one short break halfway through the party - just long enough for our cake cutting. Miles learned a new song at our request for our recessional, and the band expertly modified our first dance song so we could make it last longer. Corresponding with Miles was a delight. He is responsive, impeccably professional, and courteous. He answered our every question patiently and knowledgeably, and was willing to tweak our contract to fit our needs perfectly. The Miles Band (in all its iterations throughout our special day) was our smartest wedding investment. We couldn't be happier with every moment of their performance, and our guests echoed that compliment in spades. They were a huge part of what made it our Best Day Ever!

The thing that stands out with this band is how the front line of Peter (guitar), Molly (percussion), Tim (bass), and right behind them Sean (drums), take turns on lead vocals. This allows for an amazing range of song selections. The musicianship of all the band members was incredible. Peter Miles and The Miles Band transcend the wedding band category. They had the entire dance floor packed from the first song to the last. The amount of people that have come to us telling us how good the band were is unbelievable. I think I’m going to gatecrash future weddings just to hear these guys play again and relive our amazing wedding night.

My husband often says that Peter Miles was one of the best and easiest pieces of our wedding. I don't quite know how to put into words how at ease he made us feel about learning the songs for our processional and recessional songs during our ceremony, as well as accommodating all our requests for the cocktail hour. We hired Miles to play acoustic for our Friday night Welcome Party before our wedding. Hiring him and setting up the details was such an easy process. He sent us a song list to choose from which was just what we were looking for! During our welcome party he was set up to play outside, and when it started raining, he was very accommodating, taking his guitar and walking around the front porch of the hotel serenading our guests! Our guests loved him and he was such a fun addition to our party! I would definitely recommend him to anyone who asked, he was great to work with!!

Miles was the perfect addition to our special day! We had a very small wedding (<15 people) in Wilmington, Vermont, and he came highly recommended by our local event planner. We were lucky enough to meet him in the earlier planning stages of our wedding, as he was in town while we were visiting the area. Miles was very professional, and stayed in great communication throughout the entire process. His song selection was great, and he thought of every little detail when planning, as to avoid any potentially awkward song selections for us - or our guests. Miles even accommodated a couple special requests. We were married outdoors, and then transitioned indoors for a cocktail hour, and he had everything set up to play both locations well ahead of time. While all the songs he plays are amazing, he specially learned our first dance request, and possibly performs it better than the original... We won't say who, to "protect the innocent." We could never speak highly enough of Miles, but it's also important to point out that his pricing is very fair, and worth every penny and more. We can't wait to be able to see a show out some time, or find another reason to have the Miles play another event for us!

The Miles Band rocked our Vermont barn wedding! We were very happy with the communication from Miles and together we were able to tailor a set list and schedule to fit our celebration. They had our guests on the dance floor from the first song to the last! We had some special requests, including learning a first dance song, letting the groom's band play a short set, and even a surprise musical toast from the father of the groom. They were extremely accommodating and flexible and this personalized approach really made a difference! We had guests ranging in age from 1 to 94, and the band was able to find a little something for everyone to get down to. Highly recommended!

We had a fantastic wedding reception thanks to Peter Miles and his band. I had hired them based on reviews and listening to their samples online, and I fully intended to make it to one of his regular public gigs to listen in person, but in the end I couldn't find the time to get there, so was the tiniest bit nervous never having heard them in person. I should not have worried--Miles and the band were amazing. We had a jazz trio playing during our cocktail hour, then the whole band on the stage during the dinner/dancing part of the reception. Both were perfect--they were able to read the crowd and pick the right sound for the right moment of the evening. Miles had our guests of all generations up and dancing. Hire this band!

The Miles Band was absolutely amazing! They made our wedding perfect! They were willing to travel to Lake George, NY from Brattleboro, VT for our event and I can't even put into words how professional and fun they were! They got everyone up and dancing! The Miles Band learned new songs for our wedding and they were perfect! My mom was high-fiving the whole band after they finished the song for our dance. From beginning to end they were fun, energetic, and great! Can't say enough good things about them!

The Miles Band was everything we wanted for our wedding day! Miles was extremely responsive throughout the planning for our wedding and worked with our venue as well so that everyone was on the same page come the big day. Miles himself played for our ceremony on acoustic guitar and then we had the four piece band play for the rest of the day. He was extremely professional in all of our communications with him and worked with other vendors throughout the day to make sure everything ran smoothly. The staff at our venue said that they have never had a wedding there with as many people on the dance floor for as much of the night as they did when we had Miles playing! He and the band are fantastic musicians with a great set list that kept everyone dancing all night! People could not stop raving throughout the entire night and even after our wedding about how fantastic the band was. They were the absolute highlight of the evening and we cannot say enough about them. If you do not book this band you are missing out in a BIG way!

My husband and I feel so fortunate to have had the perfect wedding day for us - from the importance our family/friends' attendance and the beauty of the ceremony, all the way down to the elegance of the reception space and the clear, mild weather. However, of all of the components that went into the weekend we have heard the most feedback on the quality of the band. Without a doubt, Miles and The Miles Band were the highlights of the day. We used Miles for our acoustic ceremony music and a solo acoustic cocktail hour; following dinner The Miles Band played two amazing sets that had the dance floor packed from start to finish. Miles and his band learned three new songs for us - two for the ceremony, and one for our first dance. Miles rightly reserves the right to build the set list for the evening, however he was very accommodating about taking our preferences and feedback into consideration. His song list is extensive, and he is very skilled at putting together a set list that increases in fun and intensity as the evening goes on (e.g. starting the evening with classic rock, and migrating more towards funk at the end). The value of Miles and The Miles Band is unparalleled. Without sounding too much like an emotional bride, it should be said that Miles' voice can literally bring you to tears - the sincerity and clarity of his voice is unrivaled across all levels of the music scene. If you're looking for a communicative, professional, kind-hearted, and talented solo act/band I would suggest no one else than Miles!!
