We have nothing but wonderful things to say about PS! Our guests won't stop talking about how amazing all of the food was at cocktail hour. The food was endless and so delicious! They were accommodating with menu preferences and add-ons. Very easy to work with!
I cannot thank Philip Stone Caterers enough for an incredible day! Thank you for taking my covid wedding dream and turning it into a reality. Pete and Sarah worked so hard to put the wedding together in an unconventional venue. It was beautiful. EVERYONE loved it. All of our guests are raving about the food. We had a blast. Thank you thank you thank you for all that you did!
There's a reason why the turnover rate is so high at PS and perhaps some of the reasons below will explain it. Let me preface by saying, my daughter got married at Lyndhurst Mansion and PS is their onsite caterer. The wedding was last year, and as I type this we are still waiting on a response to our concerns regarding her wedding day. While the catering manager Tayla was wonderful, let it be known we had started the process with Brandon, then got tossed to Tayla when we were assured by Brandon we would be with him from start to finish. While the food was great, the service left much to be desired. We must've had employees ready to be done with the wedding season because there was not only one, but two intoxicated employees servicing the guests at my daughters wedding. The first was a waiter doing shots with guests while the other, a bartender, could not see straight while pouring drinks and told one guest that he wanted to hit on a female guest at the reception (who was a date of another). He also expressed to my day of coordinator how nervous he was because it was his first day, how lucky for us! Additionally, when my daughter explained her religious dietary restrictions to a PS employee they insulted her and essentially suggested she work around it. This isn't something you should be dealing with on any day, let alone your child's wedding day. My daughter and her coordinator have reached out to Moe, and Pete since Tayla is no longer with PS (no surprise) and while they have done the courtesy of responding with "we're going to look into the matter and get back to you" it is now mid February and we have not received one call back or response on how they will be rectifying this situation. So here I am, an upset parent warning everyone reading this to be mindful of the type of staff Philip Stone Caterers is going to provide for your event because the issues we encountered above should not be what you encounter on your beautiful wedding day or any day for that matter.
Philip Stone Caterers at the Hempstead House at the Sands Point Preserve are absolutely fantastic. From the first time we met Moe and Emily, we knew we were in great hands. Moe was so professional. He had great patience with me as I asked a million questions, added last-minute requests and changed my mind on items a few times. I wanted to create a food and wine festival or extended cocktail party style wedding and he was so unbelievably helpful. He and Emily helped us to execute the exact vision that we had for the event.
The food is absolutely amazing. We actually had Philip Stone careering at a wedding we attended previously (Lake Success) so we knew it was going to be great. Moe and Emily were so flexible and helped us curate the perfect menu for the night. From fulfilling my requests for small serving plates so that people could walk around and eat to adding a Seafood table at the 11th hour.
The day of the wedding was flawless. They always made sure that my husband and I had everything we needed. I am so thankful to have had Moe and Emily as part of our perfect day. Working with them was a dream!
Great food and wine! Would highly recommend Lyndhurst Castle and Philip Stone Caterers! Tayla is wonderful to work with and we had the best wedding ever!
phillip Stone is the designated caterer for Lyndhurst property in Tarrytown. I booked my wedding about 18 months in advance and in that time frame dealt with three catering managers. When our initial catering manager quit, no one filled us in or kept us aware of what was going on, the second manager was an absolute moron, but luckily third times a charm and our final catering manager was Brandon Harris who was an absolute delight to work with. Throughout the final 8 months of planning Brandon was excellent at communication, easy to reach, honest, professional, and helpful, and quick to set up meetings whenever I needed them. The tasting was accommodating and delicious and the food choices are fantastic and plentiful. The cocktail hour had 10 passed appetizers, and two stations (though the options are endless depending on what you’d like to spend), the bar package is good with the option to add on additional signature cocktails. Tayla was our maître D and was super helpful with us dropping all of our décor items off as well as setting things up the day of. Brandon ran an exceptional day of- he kept calm and was very organized and had everyone comfortable. Our bridal attendant went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, she was so incredibly helpful. The day of the wedding there was an issue with the decorations for the ceremony space even though we were clear about what we would be doing, they made our florist change it last minute. The food was good although I found the fish to be far less remarkable than what we were given at the tasting. Everyone at the wedding seemed to be rather pleased with the food, especially the dessert parade and cocktail hour. My biggest issue with the catering was the fact that twice throughout the night the venue ran out of red wine. When my father asked for a glass at the cocktail hour the bartender said “We ran out up here, but you can walk to the carriage house and get some,” and I found that to be wildly inappropriate since he was throwing the entire event, I just feel that for the cost that issue should’ve never came up. With that being said I think if Brandon was notified he probably would’ve fixed the problem as he did a seamless job of handling the many difficult aspects of the wedding throughout the day.
We worked with Moe Rajraji, the Director of Catering at Philip Stone for our wedding in June and it was by far the best experience we had with planning. He made the entire process fun and he was extremely patient and helpful. While he's technically the catering director, he served as an unofficial wedding planner too. We met with him countless times to discuss the layout, flow, catering, etc. Moe helped to make our vision a reality and we can't express how grateful we are to have had him on our wedding team.
In terms of the food, we were blown away with how delicious everything was, not only at our tasting, but also at the wedding itself. The menu is super flexible and seasonal. I was extremely impressed with the number of vegetarian options on the 55 page menu, as it seems like an afterthought for most other caterers. Almost all of our guests have commented on the food and how fresh and delectable their meals were. I would highly recommend Philip Stone!
We used Philip Stone for our September 17, 2016 wedding at the Hempstead House at Sands Point Preserve - they are the only approved caterer for this venue. They were absolutely fantastic!!!!! The food was phenomal, as was the presentation. They offered a huge amount of choices and we got a lot of food for what we paid. All of our guests raved about the food and the exceptional service provided by their staff. They were incredibly professional and attentive. Moe (Mostafa), the catering manager and Alexis were such a job to work with. They also helped with the planning and the day of coordination and really did a superb job! I would highly recommend this caterer for any event you may be having, especially a wedding. They exceeded expectations!!
We had the most delicious catering at our wedding thanks to Philip Stone Caterers. We of course have to thank Lorraine for all her hard work and hand holding throughout the wedding process. We could not have asked for a more special or wonderful experience. My husband and I truly had the wedding we dreamed of. The food was creative and delicious and served with style and artistry. Their staff was highly professional and a pleasure to work with. Everything ran smoothly, seemingly effortlessly, and Lorraine handled the inevitable minor issues with grace and good humor. All of her recommendations, from food choices, to timing, to renting AC, were spot-on and added to our event. Your attention to detail, things like having a fruit and veggie platter in the bridal suite, or reminding the bridesmaids how to hold their bouquets, was much appreciated. We had a hiccup in the beginning of the wedding planning process when the original head caterer of Philip Stone left and did not inform my family... we were upset but Lorraine really stepped up and made us feel comfortable... despite our initial concern about the change, she was up to the task and we were very pleased to work with her. All of our guests commented how delicious the food was at our wedding, and the DESSERTS - wow to die for! We hope to have the opportunity to plan another celebration with Lorraine and Philip Stone Catering in the future!
Delicious food and great service
My wedding was exactly one month ago today and people are still raving about how amazing the food was.
We worked very closely with Peter Schneir from the day we booked right up until the day of the wedding. He is an absolute pro and is such a gentleman. He really knows the business well and gave us so much advice and a lot of recommendations.
The day of the wedding John was managing the event and he fabulous. He kept everything running seamlessly and by the time the event was over, you wouldn't have known they were even there. The place was spotless.
I am getting hungry just thinking about the food now hahaha
We were married at the Hempstead House at Sands Point Preserve and were worried about having to hire a caterer since there is no kitchen on site. Well, upon first meeting Mostafa Rajraji, my fears dissipated and I knew I could trust him with my life. His professionalism, communication, attention to details and honesty made him stand out above all the other directors we met. I felt he would do anything for us and helped us plan and execute the most perfect night of our lives! The food options at Philip Stone are incredible and they are extremely flexible as well. The spread at our cocktail hour was amazing- sushi, meatballs, roasted meats, scallops, truffle grilled cheese/tomato soup shooters. Our bridal attendant (also employed through Philip Stone) was a rockstar and made sure we tried EVERYTHING. I was blown away at our sit down dinner as I thought it was more delicious than our tasting! I highly recommend Philip Stone and hope we can work together in the future (or be invited to an event they cater!)
I cannot say enough good things about this company. Not only was the food amazing and the service wonderful, but our catering contact, Peter Schneir, went above and beyond. Very well priced and extremely professional, I always felt content and left for my honeymoon on cloud nine from the best night of my life! I highly recommend this company and would serve as a positive reference to anyone!
