I cannot thank Akua the Boss*** Wedding Planner and her incredible team enough for the exceptional job they did for my wedding. From the moment we started working together, they took charge with a level of organization, helpfulness, and resourcefulness sincerely exceeded even my high expectations.
On my wedding day, they were a blessing, offloading so much of the stress that I had been carrying. They thought of details and handled aspects of the wedding that I hadn’t even considered, making sure everything ran smoothly. Their professionalism and attention to detail were apparent in every interaction, and they were always one step ahead, anticipating needs before they even arose.

Akua and her team were a dream, I can't recommend them highly enough! From the moment we first talked, Akua made herself so available and went above and beyond - I was looking for a day-of wedding coordinator, and Akua was actively involved for MONTHS beforehand. Akua was always extremely knowledgeable and struck the perfect balance between giving me all the advice and help I needed while also centring what I wanted. We had our wedding spread out over two days, and I'm sure a ton of things went wrong, but as the bride, I had no idea at all because Akua and her team had such a great handle on things. I'm type-A and feel comfortable only when I'm in control, and Akua made me feel like I could just float through my ceremony and reception without thinking about a single thing other than having a great time with my partner and our guests. She was also just a joy to be around, best vibes! Honestly, best decision we made all wedding was working with Akua!
As our big day approached we were struck by just how many details and logistics were all packed into one single day. We really wanted our parents, aunts/uncles, and close friends to be able to just enjoy the day and not get weighed down by the minutia of helping us pull off such a big and complex event. Akua and the Phuliffects team was a total god send in helping us get over the last month of detail finalization and ensuring we were able to focus on each other during the actual wedding. We could not recommend working with Akua any more highly.

Oh, do I wish I found her sooner! My wedding was a month ago and I am so happy I was referred to Akua and her team. When I started my wedding planning journey, I had another wedding planner. Long story short, my husband and I couldn’t take her anymore. A coworker of mine recommend Akua. At first because of everything I dealt with, I said no. I was pissed off, already spent money on the last person I couldn’t get back and was just over everything. He told me his wife had a good experience with her and to try a phone call.. so I did. Akua was soooo pleasant! The phone call was only a half hour and I could already feel a difference between this call and my last planner. I chose the partial planning since I was 8 months away from my wedding. She had everything neatly planned on her porfolio website for us, had a group chat going with myself and my husband to keep us all on track and to check up and see how we were doing. She reached out the vendors I found before her and got the ball rolling. As it got closer to the date. I don’t even know what I had to do. She just handled it in such a timely fashion I finally felt like I could breathe for the first time during this 2 year planning process.
The wedding day!!! OMG all I did was smile, laugh, drink, dance, eat, and enjoy life 🥰. Akua and her team took care of every issue. Dana was so great with the flower girl that til this day, the flower girl will call me and tell me she misses her lol. In the morning I started getting ready and Akua handled all the phone calls I was receiving and made sure all the bridesmaids and my mom were ready for hair and makeup. The vibe that morning was greattttt. Laughing, dancing to music, and eating the snacks they provided for our suite. The ceremony was beautiful and Akua was with me every minute. When I had an unexpected guest at cocktail hour, she handled it. From beginning to end, everything ran smoothly. I had silk flowers to decorate our cocktail space and her team did such an amazing job. I truly cannot complain about my experience with her. My mom loved her, best friend loved her… everyone who met her and her team loved her. As irritated as the beginning of my wedding journey started, God had this path going for me to meet her. I’m so happy I was referred to her. My stress level dramatically decreased once she became my planner. I’m thinking of other parties to throw just to work with her again 😂. As another vendor, I had the pleasure of working with Akua and her team for Whitley & Rafael's wedding on April 7, 2024. I was the DJ for the wedding and the wedding looked beautiful! She and her team were well coordinated and on point from start to finish. I highly recommend her services and hope to have the pleasure of working with her again in the future!
Having Akua by our side as our day-of coordinator was the best gift we could have given ourselves for our wedding. From the get-go, she impressed us with her prompt responses, clear communication, and genuine enthusiasm for our vision. It felt like we instantly connected, and she truly understood what we wanted for the big day. She was extremely helpful in thinking through any ideas we had and in creating our wedding day timeline. Akua even kept in touch with us before our day-of-coordination services officially began to see how we were doing and to make sure we were on track, as well as checking in after our wedding. Especially if you are a Type A bride (like me) and think you don’t need a coordinator, think again. You will not regret hiring Akua who will handle all the things you’re worrying about and make sure your goals are accomplished. Her problem-solving skills are impeccable and we were so thankful to have her with us throughout our wedding day. We can’t imagine what our day would have been without her. Guests could not stop raving about how organized, friendly, and professional she and her team were. We can't recommend her highly enough!!
Akua gave us a great first impression much before her contract began with us. She was very helpful in answering our questions, reassuring us about details, and knowing the industry very well. As a bride, I had many moments where I felt overwhelmed and stressed, but anytime I called Akua she picked up and helped me figure out every detail. She was always good at calming me down and handling vendor issues for me. She was very adamant about me not needing to deal with the vendor problems, which was a huge burden lifted. Our wedding day had quite a few mishaps from other vendors, but Akua and her associate (Taylor, who was amazing) helped contain and move things further. Without her and her team’s efforts, things would’ve been extremely complicated to recover. She helped remove a lot of stress from my husband and I on the wedding day, and was always tending to our needs at the wedding. She is extremely loyal to the couple despite whoever else wants to have a say, she is able to play bad cop if you need her to! One thing that made a huge difference for my husband and I was that after one of the vendors messed up royally, Akua took the initiative to directly reach out to them after the wedding and demand a refund on our behalf, that way my husband and I would enjoy our honeymoon without being concerned about any of this. She was loyal during and after our wedding to helping us. Akua is great, and her associate Taylor was such a pleasure to have with us at the reception as well. Great team.

I was aways hesitant about hiring a day-of coordinator/planner since I consider myself to be fairly organized and Type A, but hiring Akua and her team was the best wedding decision my husband and I made. It’s been a month since our wedding and we still talk about how we were able to enjoy our day and be present because of all of the work Akua and her team put in.
When I had my initial calls with other planners, a lot of them felt too uptight and provided their opinion on how I should have made specific decisions. Akua stood apart because it was very apparent that she was there to help us execute our wedding the way we envisioned it. We were immediately on the same page and I knew I could trust her to provide her professional input along the way with important information that is only known to someone who is familiar with organizing weddings and/or other events.
Our day could not have gone smoother thanks to Akua. All of our other vendors even commented on how it was one of the smoothest weddings they were a part of thanks to her planning. Even my family and guests kept commenting on how impressed they were. If you want to have a worry-free wedding day, don’t even hesitate on booking Phuliffects because she books up fast.
We want to express our sincere appreciation for the work done by Akua Darko in the planning and execution of our daughter’s wedding last weekend in Philadelphia. As everyone knows the planning of a wedding is a challenge under the best of circumstances. When the bride and the groom are very busy people and their parents are at a distance and the participants will be coming from all parts of the country and beyond, it could have been a real nightmare. However, the attention to detail and management of all logistics performed by Akua made it more like a wonderful dream…the way a wedding should be! She worked with the family and the venue to coordinate the food, beverages, tables, chairs, entertainment, and a wedding canopy constructed on site. This was not a small task as each of the vendors had their own timelines with regards to delivery, set-up and take-down. In addition, there were the very frequent inquiries by the well-intentioned families of the couple as to “what was happening and when”. Akua responded to everyone in a clear, supportive, and efficient manner. In short, she and her team could not have done a better job and were a joy to work with. We are pleased to give her our highest recommendation.
We hired Akua and her team as our day-of wedding coordinator. Akua went above and beyond our expectations - from setting up numerous calls leading up to the big day, to making sure we were meeting deadlines for booking vendors and making payments, to creating detailed timelines, and communicating directly with other vendors (venue, DJ, photographers) - her attention to detail in the planning process went beyond just the day of the wedding. Akua is genuine and immediately put us at ease in our first call with her. She checked in with us to see how we were feeling leading up to the big day. On the day of the wedding we didn't have to worry about a thing! Everything moved smoothly so that we could be fully present while Akua and her team handled everything behind the scenes. We cannot express how deeply thankful we are for working with the Phuliffects team. From the moment we met Akua, it was evident that we were in the hands of a true professional who not only understood the details of wedding planning but also genuinely cared about making our day unforgettable.
Now, I (the bride) am naturally very organized, and planned every single detail of our wedding. So, at first, I thought we didn’t need a day-of coordinator. But one of my girlfriends reminded me that no matter how organized a person is, they can’t handle all of the many details that will crop up on the day of a wedding… And so we hired Akua who, it turns out, is not just a day-of coordinator. She took the lead months before the wedding, letting me hand off responsibilities to her and just focus on being a bride. For instance, she handled communications with all our vendors, put our timeline together, provided moral support, and so much more.
One of the most significant aspects of Akua’s work is her ability to handle unexpected challenges with grace and composure. About 90 minutes before the start of our ceremony, we decided to enjoy a private moment while sipping on two espressos. Well, my husband never got a chance to sip on his because he accidentally poured it on my dress. Yes, folks you heard right. My beautiful ivory lace gown now had shades of brown. I didn’t even panic, I just quietly said, “...please, get Akua…”. Without missing a beat, Akua removed the dress and disappeared into the bathroom. She resurfaced minutes later with a clean, dry dress for me to slip back on like nothing had happened. This quick thinking and problem-solving skills probably saved my husband’s life. LOL
We also want to acknowledge other members of the Phuliffects team, who kept everything on schedule, allowing us to relax and enjoy each moment without worrying about logistics. Their warmth and professionalism put us at ease from beginning to end. Our wedding day turned out to be a dream come true, and we owe much of that to Akua and her team.
We hired Akua in April 2023, just 4 months before our wedding in August. We were initially very excited to work with Akua and her team because she represented herself a detail-oriented, highly competent and experienced professional, but we were incredibly disappointed with the service we received. We discussed our concerns with Akua on several occasions in writing and over the phone, but things did not improve.
Akua canceled our first in-person meeting (scheduled for June) and followed up by telling us she was going on a previously planned leave of absence for 5 weeks in the 2 months leading up to our wedding. Akua was well aware that she was going to take the leave of absence and never disclosed this material fact to us before we hired her. Akua assured us that she would be responsive while on leave, which she was. Although she was responsive, she ultimately failed to execute on majority of the details we discussed during the leave and even after she returned.
Akua was unprepared when she came to our first in-person meeting (in late July), which was a site visit at the wedding venue. I was surprised to see that she took no notes or photos and made no effort to otherwise memorialize the details that we discussed. Following the site visit, we received no follow up from Akua on next steps, which was deeply concerning given that our wedding was 1 month away.
In the 4 weeks leading up to the wedding, we were stressed, overwhelmed and frustrated because we were carrying the load Akua was hired to handle for us. She missed or was late to meetings she agreed to attend with our vendors and overall appeared to be disengaged during the meeting she did attend. We raised our concerns to Akua but things did not improve.
During the week of the wedding, Akua did not check in with some of our vendors and some members of wedding party within the timeframe she claimed she would, so vendors such as the DJ, Officiant and Videographer reached out to us, so did members of the bridal party. We forwarded at least 2 of the messages we received from vendors during the week of the wedding to Akua. Akua showed up to the wedding rehearsal looking disheveled, she rushed us through the rehearsal and left the venue before us. On the wedding day, Akua again showed up looking disheveled. Throughout the wedding day, Akua failed to provide us and the wedding party with a sense of direction as the day unfolded--this resulted in a lot of frustration for us, our immediate families and the wedding party.
As we reflect on the wedding, we felt Akua overpromised and underdelivered for our wedding. Akua’s lack of engagement, poor execution, and failure to provide direction at critical moments during the wedding caused a lot of stress for us and it put a damper on day and overall experience. We truly wish we had selected another vendor for our big day.

We do not agree with these allegations as you constantly requested partial planning...
services even though you paid for day of coordination and I took time to spell out my services which I have references to in all our correspondences. You mentioned in our initial meeting that you had a planner and she failed to provide you with the services and I told you that our service is geared towards day of services but with our FIVE meetings it will prepare you for the day and we exceeded 5 meetings because we always go above and beyond for our couples.
Also I was pregnant which never hindered my services and I professionally let my clients know this and everyone except you seemed to have an issue even though I expressed that I will be available.
I was never late to any of our zoom or one in person meetings and you were 22 minutes late to the site visit that we had to reschedule on the same day having me move my schedule around to accommodate your needs. My style and definition of a site visit is listening and walking through the space as that works very well for me. We checked in with your vendors the week of the wedding and they can all attest to that. Timeline was shared with your bridal party the week of the wedding as agreed upon.
During my events I always dress up in a way that allows me to move around easily and also pump because I am a breastfeeding mother. We didn’t overpromise, followed and delivered your contract to the T and my team did what we do best for all our amazing clients. It is unfortunate your experience with us was not to your expectation and we can assure you that it was not for a lack of effort.
I don’t even know where to begin! I just know that it was truly the Lord that brought Akua and her team across my path. I knew from the moment we had our initial consultation call, that Akua was the planner for me. Right from the beginning Akua was so down to earth, understanding, patient, and caring when it came to communicating with me, I honestly felt like I was planning my wedding with my older sister! My husband and I both can testify that Akua fights for her clients happiness no matter what it takes. No detail was left out when it came to planning our wedding. I think the best part of working with Akua was that she always knew what I truly was feeling whenever we had meetings with our potential vendors (one thing about me is that I’m shy to speak up and really speak my mind), when it came down to it, Akua was able to let our vendors know what I truly was feeling without me having to say anything! Akua is very sensitive to her clients needs and is not afraid to advocate for them in order to make sure everything turns out the way they envisioned their day to go. Alongside that, Akua is not afraid to sacrifice her time, money, effort, etc to make sure things get done. My wedding day was hands down the best day of my life and it was truly because I had a God fearing, prayerful wedding planner and coordinator such as Akua. I could go on and on with stories from my wedding planning journey where Akua never ceased to show up and show out for us and I’m so grateful for such an amazing wedding planning experience. Our wedding day was full of so many activities yet one thing Akua always made sure of was that everyone was on time for everything. Lateness is definitely not a word in Akua’s vocabulary haha! But honestly, there were times where I would be so stressed out by the planning process but every time, without fail, Akua would be that shoulder I would cry on, vent to, and receive encouragement from. She was always there for me when I needed her to be. Honestly, no time was ever too late for me to reach out to Akua, and I truly appreciated that. If you are reading through Akua’s reviews trying to decide if you should book her, please end the search with my review and take my word for it, you will not be disappointed when you book Phulliffects as your wedding planner and coordinator!!
I knew the only way I would be able to enjoy my wedding day as a Type-A bride was if I hired a wedding coordinator, someone I trusted that I could give the keys to and let them drive. After meeting Akua, I cancelled the other interviews I had lined up with and asked for a contract the next day! Akua is amazing at what she does and really seeks to understand your vision of the day, then executes it to perfection. I loved how willing she was to answer questions, give opinions, and send us referrals from the day we signed on. She and her team at Phuliffects Events are true professionals and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day went off without a hitch! Whether it was running out to buy umbrellas because the forecast called for rain or helping my mom get her dress zipped, they were ready and willing to step in. Because of their meticulous planning, attention to detail, and communication with our other vendors, my husband and I were truly able to live in the moment and soak in every aspect of our wedding day. What made it all even more impressive is that Akua managed our wedding and gave us a flawless day a few weeks out from the birth of her daughter. Talk about commitment to your craft! Hiring Akua and Phuliffect Events to manage our wedding was some of the best money we spent. We cannot thank her and her team enough for all that they did for us!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Akua! We planned a two-day wedding, involving guests from out-of-state and overseas. Throughout the entire process, Akua remained accessible, professional, and prompt. When we came to Akua, we had a venue and some ideas put together, but were not sure what to do next. She hopped right in with a reputable list of vendors and made our vision come to life! There are so many moving parts involved with the wedding planning process, but Akua made sure that we stayed organized and stress-free. We are so grateful we had Phuliffects Events for our wedding day and highly recommend them!!
Where do I even begin? Akua was everything we could have asked for in a wedding planner and more. She was (and is) truly phenomenal at what she does. If you're reading this, first, Congrats!, and second, you're probably starting your planning process and feeling overwhelmed. What I've learned is that there's a difference between having a competent planner/vendor and having a competent planner or vendor that is stepping in your shoes and truly has your best interests in mind. The latter is Akua! I didn't feel like just a client, but I felt as though every decision she made was with our desires, concerns, vision, in mind. As a result we completely trusted her and that was smart on our part.
Akua was there with us every step of the way in planning our 2 day Ghanaian wedding, from finding a date and venues all the way to last minute Etsy orders we decided we really needed a couple of weeks before the wedding (which she placed on my behalf). She has excellent judgment and importantly had answers to all our etiquette and general questions. She even gave me a bridal robe in prep for a last minute dress change. Akua was more budget conscious than I was which was so needed, because as the date approaches, you might start to lose common sense ha! But she learned what meant most to us and really came to know our personalities. She had good judgment on what was reasonable, what was a worthy splurge, and what was something we could do without or would regret.
During our wedding weekend, Akua and her team were so on top of everything. My family sang her praises the entire weekend and some guests asked for her contact information. The wedding timeline was insanely detailed, and the team kept everyone in good spirits. She solved issues I didn't even know existed until after the wedding- like guests arriving who hadn't RSVP'd, somehow she fixed everything. As another reviewer wrote, she didn't let me lift a finger during our special weekend and more importantly, she was integral to everything running smoothly. It's been 2 months and we still hear from guests about how fun, beautiful, and well organized our wedding was. If you are searching for someone who is going to get to know you and help you plan your wedding according to what matters most to you, look no further. We are so grateful for all that she did!
We hired Akua and her team for floral and for coordination. Overall, her team did a good job, especially with the floral and setup of our venue. They were really able to make the space beautiful on our tight budget and had great suggestions. But we did have some issues with coordinating. We had a good experience in the planning and felt that Akua helped us understand some of the major logistic issues and timing related to our special day. Still, on our wedding day we had to make some last minute changes to our day-of plans due to some events in the city, but we never really felt like there was a solid back-up plan communicated to us on our wedding day. We felt that we were actually doing most of the day-of coordinating and were communicating things back to the Phuliffects team. There were at least 2 or 3 miscommunications (which we were able to resolve) and we felt that it really distracted us from our wedding day. On the other hand, many of the team members really showed up for us with all of the confusion, especially Taylor! It's hard to know if the issues we had were related to our weekend or if it was lack of planning, but we didn't have the best experience with Phuliffects for our wedding coordination. If possible, we would give her 5 stars for floral and 3 for coordination, so we settled on a 4 star review average.

re you that it was not for a lack of effort. As you referenced, there were last minute changes and events that were beyond our control and we did the best we could to accomodate them to make your day as smooth as possible and we apologize for not meeting your expectations.
Akua was fantastic! She was so warm and friendly and made all my bridesmaids feel special. She knew all their names and helped each one get ready for the day. She made my day so easy and breezy that I didn’t have to worry about anything. I was able to trust her fully and she stayed on top of everything (even after she received HUGE personal news the day of). Her assistants were very attentive and never left my side at the end of the night. They made me feel very tended to. My fiancé woke up with a red and inflamed eye and left his medicine at the hotel. One of Akua’s assistants ran back and got it for him with no hesitation. We have a number of calls leading to the big day and she made me feel comfortable texting her for any questions I had. I could not recommend her more for your day.
Do yourself a favor and hire this company. Hire Akua, the head coordinator and boss. Words cannot describe how awesome she was. Because of Akua, I was able to relax the week of my wedding. She waited on me hand and foot during the day of the rehearsal and day of the wedding, the entire day, and made sure everything was impeccable. Akua fielded phone calls from vendors, hotel, family, who had questions about the details of the wedding. She asked everyone during the wedding rehearsal not to ask me or my husband any questions so that he and I wouldn't have to stress. Hiring Phuliffects was worth every penny, and her pricing was actually very reasonable for all that she did for me and my husband. I am so grateful I found Phuliffects. Thank you, Akua!!
I’ll start by saying that hiring Akua and her team as my wedding coordinators was hands down the best decision I ever made. From the one on one meetings, to coordinating with vendors, and quite literally taking all the reigns the entire day of my wedding — there is just absolutely no way we could have done it without her. Akua puts up with the toughest of personalities (I would know, as I am one) and handles everything with an air of calm and ease. My ever-present anxiety was a very special guest that day and the entire team really made sure that I had every single thing I needed to make my day as easy and stress-free as possible. I will forever be indebted to Phulliffects Events and I’m not sure why you’re still reading this and not booking them for your wedding!!
Truly a pleasure working with the Phulliffects team and Akua for my July wedding! Akua was very thorough and easy to work with and really took over control of everything leading up to my wedding. Despite me not having a lot of details figured out leading up to my wedding, she really took over and ensured everything went relatively smoothly the day of. She and her team were very thoughtful and also went above and beyond to do things that weren't necessarily expected of them. For example, I left my wedding umbrellas at my apartment by mistake, she went around checking several stores for me to find umbrellas without me asking and ultimately went all the way from the hotel to my apartment to pick up retrieve them. Despite her getting married only a few weeks leading up to my wedding, she barely missed a beat with my constant messages and emails. In the end she allowed me to smoothly navigate working with a restrictive venue with lots of rules and regulations.
I cannot say ENOUGH about Akua and her team. If you have not booked a day of coordinator, take this as your sign to reach out to Akua immediately!
From the very first conversation that I had with Akua, I could feel a 100 LB weight lift off of my chest. She is so knowledgeable, so accommodating, and so extremely organized. We had several issues with our venue leading up to the event, and Akua was there every single step of the way. She was there every step of the way to help us navigate planning a wedding in a pandemic / post-pandemic world. She had check-in calls with us, and asked us continuously how she can help support us to make it a seamless process. She then took over all vendor communications! This alleviated so much additional stress from us. We didn’t have to worry about whether the florist, the MUA, the hair artist, photographer knew where they needed to be when, because Akua handled it. Then she showed us this minute-to-minute break-down of how our day would look. Everything was thought of (even things, I definitely didn’t anticipate for) from flower delivery, lunch/breakfast delivery, timeframes for photos. My husband and I were so impressed. There were stressors leading up to the day (as there always are), but without Akua, I’m not sure how we would have gotten through the day.
The day of, her and her team worked in lock step, and were there for me, my husband, and our vendors. We had a ton of little items we wanted displayed in the reception, Akua’s team put these together for us and put these out for us. Again, the team kept us on time, and as a bride, I never had to worry about what was next, or where I needed to be, because Akua and her truly wonderful team, just guided us through it all.
Hands down, Phullifects was the best money we spent for our wedding day. I can’t thank them enough. In addition to their incredible work ethic, the women that make up the phullifects team are just truly incredible, empathetic, kind, and professional women.
Akua and her services are nothing short of amazing. She did a wonderful job helping my wife and I plan our day and was absolutely wonderful in executing our vision on wedding day. Akua proved to be more than my wedding planner from Day 1. She checked in with me periodically. She came to all my site visits. She read and responded to ALL my texts of me pouring out my ideas. She offered suggestions and gave honest feedback. Love her for that!! Her and her team were everywhere on the day of. They never left us alone and they took care of everything we needed. My day would not have been as perfect as it was without Akua. I will recommend her every time a new bride needs a wedding planner!
We initially chose to plan the wedding ourselves, and we managed to get done a lot of the big things before we realized how big of a mistake it is to plan ourselves. We first met Akua to discuss her potentially being our planner and coordinator. Right away we had a good feeling about her and chose her services over other planners we met with.
Akua was able to track all the things about our wedding that we knew about and didn’t know yet. She took her time going through all the steps required for the planning and made sure we never felt like we didn’t know what was going on. Because of Akua, we had a load of stress off our backs and could focus on things like practicing our dance and planning our bachelor/bachelorette nights. The wedding day itself went smoothly, largely as a result of Akua’s coordination. We are so happy with the effort she put in to make our most important day so memorable!

I booked Akua about 4 months before my wedding. I had initially been hesitant to work with a coordinator because of a poor experience I had observed with someone else’s wedding coordinator, and I felt I was handling the planning pretty well on my own. However, I’m so glad I changed my mind and booked with Akua & her team. She came highly recommended by my venue. From our very first consultation, Akua impressed me with her organization, professionalism, and just overall genuine personality. She had many prior experiences working with African weddings which was very reassuring that she knew what to expect. She was easy to talk to and share my concerns and expectations with through the entire process. At some point our meetings began to feel more like calls with a friend. As our wedding was a 2 day event, Akua came up with thorough, detailed, and most importantly, realistic timelines for each day. She communicated with all the vendors for each day to make sure everyone had the necessary information, and that no one needed to contact me about things. Our entire wedding weekend I felt so at ease knowing that Akua was on the job. She was calm, flexible and able to pivot when small hiccups in the schedule occurred. She interacted well with the bridal party, my family, and all our guests. On our actual wedding day I was shocked by how calm I felt. Even when I tried to worry about small things, Akua quickly reassured me and regularly updated me on what was going on because I like to stay informed. I have nothing but fond memories of my wedding days largely in part to how smoothly everything ran with Akua in charge. My mom and bridal party all commented on how impressed they were with her work. She regularly checked on me & my husband as well as our parents throughout the reception to make sure our needs were being met. Because of Akua, I truly believe I had the most organized and well-run, and low-stress Nigerian wedding that has every occurred. I honestly can’t wait to plan another event mostly so I can book with the Phuliffects team and work with Akua again. If you work with Akua and her team, you will absolutely not regret it!
Akua was amazing to work with and I would highly recommend her. I hired Akua for the Month of Management and she was involved in our wedding planning long before the final month. Throughout the entire planning process Akua was accessible for any questions that I had and for vendor recommendations. As I sit here thinking of words to describe Akua and Phuliffects Events, I remain speechless. Throughout the planning process, I looked to Akua for advice and suggestions not only as my wedding planner, but as a friend. Whenever I needed her, she was always a text message away. On our wedding day, I was blown away with how helpful and supportive she was from helping button my dress to putting lotion on my feet to dropping my belongings back in my hotel room while we stayed for our after party. Even though she was a part time wedding planner, I felt like she was always available whenever I reached out. I also really appreciated how well connected she is with vendors. She is amazing at what she does! I had the best wedding day experience you could ever imagine. From the morning of to the end of the reception I had NO STRESS!! Phuliffects events!!!!!! You were beyond an answer to my prayers. In my search for a wedding planner I encountered some that were not the most approachable. I literally prayed that God would help me in my search and one day she happened to be recommended to me. Not only was she recommended to me, she messaged me on IG saying, “ Your friend mentioned that you needed a wedding planner, Here I Am”. I immediately loved her from the first phone conversation. I could tell that she was committed to her brides and would go to great lengths to ensure their happiness on their big day. My initial rosey impression of her was surprisingly trumped by reality. She far exceeded my expectations. Oh my goodness, this lady did not sleep for one year and worked tirelessly to make sure all details were addressed. I would send her a text message at 1 AM expecting a response the next morning and within 20 seconds she had replied. I often wondered how she was able to give attention to her other brides because I quite literally felt that she was all mine.
I had a 2 day Nigerian wedding and on my wedding weekend, I had not a care in the world. I felt like a queen, I had to beg here to put on my own shoes. I was overwhelmed by her support. She ensured that everything went seamlessly. Everything was done in a timely fashion, and for a Nigerian wedding that is virtually unheard of. Myself and my husband are forever indebted to Akua and her team for the execution of our dream wedding. I will miss her dearly. She is not only a wedding planner, she is a friend. Akua is amazing! Definitely hire her. She was incredibly helpful throughout the process. We booked the "month of" coordination, which was really several months of coordination. She is so approachable and really makes you feel like no question is silly. Every time I texted her something or was anxious about something, she was on it already. On the wedding day, she made sure everything went smoothly. All of the little things were taken care of so that I didn't need to worry at all! She helped with everything with my dress so that my bridal party didn't need to, and she made sure we were all comfortable and had everything we needed. She even dropped everything off with us after the wedding. My husband was SO happy that there was someone from Akua's team with him the whole day too. Ebonie and Taylor from Akua's team were great! One of the best moments of our wedding was also thanks to Akua - she pulled us aside before we joined everyone for cocktail hour and made sure we had a moment just to ourselves after the ceremony with drinks and food. HUGE thank you to Akua and couldn't recommend her more!

Akua is warm, compassionate, thoughtful, and a consummate professional. From the moment we engaged her as our wedding coordinator, she took the initiative in managing every detail, ensuring that even things we had not thought of were planned and under control. On the day of, she was at our venue from 6:30 a.m. until late in the night to ensure that everything went smoothly from set-up, to ceremony, to reception, to breakdown. When the tables we rented needed linens, she found some. When we ran out of signature cocktail ingredients, her crew went out and got some more. When we got off schedule between family photographs and toasts, she got us back on track. She even ensured plates of food and cake were set aside for us, and everyone had plenty of water to drink. I cannot recommend her highly enough. My only regret is that I didn't engage her invaluable services when our planning began!

Where do I even start.... There aren't enough words to express how much I love and appreciate Akua (as both a Wedding Planner AND a person) and her team! I hired Akua back in 2019 shortly after I got engaged and had NO idea where to even begin with my wedding planning process. Akua walked me through the process thoroughly, helped keep me on a timeline with tasks, and made everything as seamless as humanly possible. My original wedding was scheduled for August of 2020, but the wonderful pandemic caused us to postpone a full year. Akua stuck with us through it all, and even helped us with our microwedding we had on our original date in August of 2020. Akua continued constant communication with me for the entire YEAR in between our microwedding and our large wedding. Our large wedding (August 2021) was absolutely PERFECT! Akua and her team made sure to fulfill every tiny detail to make our day so special and amazing. Everything was seamless, and I didn't have to lift a finger! If your looking for a coordinator look no more! From the moment I sent an initial email until the end of my wedding night Akou was a breath of fresh air! She is on top of her game and everything you can think of she already thought of it lol. When I was researching a day of coordinator my main concern was not having to stress the day of my wedding and Akou fulfilled that for me. If anything did go wrong on my wedding day I can’t even tell you it did because I have no knowledge of that! If you want to enjoy your day you need to book with Phuliffects ASAP! Trust me the day goes by in the blink of an eye.
We hired Akua as a day-of coordinator. It was great to have someone help with all the (many) big and small details and to help pull everything together for our big day. Akua was great because she had worked with cross-cultural weddings before, including specifically American-Indian weddings like ours. We were worried about keeping everything smooth and on-schedule, and Akua was great to keep everyone where they needed to be when they needed to be there. Moreover, she took the time to meet and talk with us multiple times before wedding day to go through all the details.
Akua was great. She outlined all that needed to be done and kept everyone on schedule. On the day of the wedding, she went above and beyond - even running errands for the MOB -by bringing in lunch to the bride and friends. At the time of the ceremony, she directed all guests and made sure the event ran smoothly. Highly Recommended.
Akua was there for us through thick and thin. She kept in constant contact with all of our vendors and made sure we had as little interaction with them as possible. She helped us move the date 3 times through COVID-19. She consoled us during times of uncertainty and lifted us up when we thought the worst. The day of the wedding, she was a rock star. I originally wanted to plan everything about my wedding, from beginning to end. I booked my venue in 2019 before the pandemic, and I started to plan everything while I was out on maternity leave in May 2020, using the knot mostly. When it came close to the time for me to return back to work, in November 2020, I knew I was going to need help with my wedding. I searched online through the knot and Instagram for the perfect wedding planner for me, and one of the first people that I came across as Akua. She was so nice and made me feel at ease from the first conversation. She was even willing to switch up some of the things that she does to fit my budget (also I still wanted to do everything myself). She helped me tremendously, even gave me some options of vendors, and they are all excellent at what they do. Akua was on top of everything and very organized. She was reaching out to my venue every month, sometimes every week to see if they had any updates on there COVID restrictions. She went to my first and final dress fitting, and the seamstress thought that we were friends for years (that’s how easy going and friendly Akua is). She even have items that you can rent from her and they are beautiful. My dress got wet and dirty while taking pictures before my ceremony, so she cleaned it for me. And when my husband stepped on my dress and broke my bustle during the reception, she pinned it back up (it fell again because it was too heavy). She was there from beginning until the very end (even came back the wedding night and did a walk through with me and my husband, when the hotel moved my things because of a leak in the room).
My husband said he liked Akua the first time he met her because she was on top of everything. My parents talked about how she made sure that everything went smoothly and friendly she was. She even drove people around the venue to get the place where we took the pictures before the ceremony because it was raining and cold.
Akua was absolutely wonderful to work with. Everyone would ask if I was freaking out and I was able to constantly say no with ease because she took care of everything. If I ever decide to renew my vows, she will be the first person I call.
Akua is truly the boss planner!! If you don’t book Phuliffects for your wedding then you are missing out. I consider myself a proactive organized person and Akua had me beat by a mile! She truly thought of every detail and planned for every possible scenario. The month leading up to my wedding was almost totally stress free thanks Phuliffects, and Akua helped make the day of my wedding absolutely magical! We were able to enjoy ourselves so much more. It really felt like having a friend with me on that day! Akua was there for whatever I needed, or whatever she could tell I needed before I even realized it! Linda did it all...The Boss planner helped put our entire wedding together and timeline for all of our vendors and was our main point of contact prior and on the day. She helped me with my mini break downs and helped us make decisions which were important to my husband and I on our wedding day. Linda took care of every single detail on our wedding day. Mrs. A AKA Linda or what I call her Akua. The Boss Planner. If you were looking for a sign as to whether you should book with Phulliffectsevents look no further. DO IT! Akua is/was my saving grace. She is not only a planner, she is a prayer warrior as well. Akua, is a well organized, meticulous, smart, professional and creative. All you have to do is give her a glimpse of your vision and she will bring it to life and more. Akua is very calm! There were ALOT of curve balls thrown at her during the planning of my wedding and she handled each one perfectly. Akua, kept me calm. A month before the wedding i started to get anxious, Akua called and prayed with my husband and I. She also updated us with all the details of our special day daily. Even on the day of out outdoor wedding she was very professional and poised. The weather forecast stated, it was going to rain all day of the event so naturally I was worried and stressed that the day was ruined. That morning as I was getting ready, Akua told me not to worry everything will go smooth and the rain will not ruin the day. She made sure what she said is what exactly happened! She was supposed to be my day of planner. With all the current situations happening in the world she was my EVERYTHING. I chose Akua for her no nonsense attitude and attention to detail. I didn't want to worry about anything on my wedding day and she made sure I didn't have to worry about a thing. She helped me find vendors. Akua was the best! I hired her for the “Day of Coordinator”, but she did wayyyy more than just the day of. Her professionalism is on point! She made our day 100% stress free! I’m sure I didn’t now half of the behind the scenes, and when I was told something didn’t go as planned, she already corrected it before I was even informed. Her team also does decor as well and even with my indecisive and detailed ways, she made sure I got everything I wanted. And her team works FAST which is very important. I could not have imagined a better day of coordinating service! We were on the fence about getting a day of coordinator, or just doing it ourselves. I am a very Type A person and thought that I would easily be organized enough to not need a day of coordinator, but I’m so glad we had one! Linda was incredible! Even before the wedding she was making timelines and contacting vendors to ensure that everything was ready for our big day :-). Being the Type A person that I am I also put together timelines and instructions for each of the vendors, and Linda made sure that they were read and followed perfectly! On the day of in addition to making sure that all of our family members and vendors were doing the right things at the right time, she was able to anticipate all of my needs and was there to address them. Starting in the morning when I was getting ready and going through the reception in the evening Linda was amazing! I don’t know what we would have done without her! Akua was the absolute best. I ended up bringing her on just four weeks shy of my wedding day when it became very clear that my venue's in-house "planner" was not going to cut it. I was stressed out of my mind and Akua swept in and saved the day. She took the time to understand our vision for the day and made sure all vendors were clear on their responsibilities. She handled the "planners" at the venue so I didn't have to deal. It lifted an enormous weight off of my shoulders and allowed me to enjoy my day, which was absolutely magical. I loved everything about this lady and her team. She became a sister after our first meeting and I knew I could trust her to make my day a success. She was consistent, punctual and met all deadlines even after I made several changes on the day off and vendors, they still worked with me and made it happen.
