I had my wedding at Pier 5 on October 5 and it was AMAZING! The location of the venue is incredible for those who want a beautiful city wedding, right on the water with breathtaking views of the Inner Harbor. What is even more amazing than the view, is the staff. In particular, Morgan, Donna and Bill are the best! Morgan is so patient and helpful! I changed things a million times and Morgan was so kind and helpful and accommodating. On the day of my wedding, everything was taken care and I mean everything! Morgan and Donna were so nice and made sure I was able to enjoy and relax all day and all night long! Donna is incredible and is such a kind person! The ceremony space on the Waterfront Garden was beautiful! We were lucky enough to have PERFECT weather and the reception room in the Harbor Club looked so elegant and classy! Everyone was raving about the view, the food, the staff and just the overall experience. The food at Pier 5 is amazing too! It is a one-stop shop which is awesome, cake through Sugar Bakers and DJ through Music Masters and everything came tighter beautifully! Thank you to everyone at Pier 5 for making our wedding day perfect!
We loved that Pier 5 provided a waterfront backdrop for our June 2019 wedding. All of our guests from out of town could stay onsite, which was very important to us. The reception was in the Harbor View room with 270 degree views of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The setting was amazing, our day was beautiful and the hotel staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Our day of coordinator, Donna, was hysterical and kept us all moving and laughing throughout the day. The planning process was relatively seamless with Morgan Sutton being incredibly accommodating throughout. We also loved that it was pretty much all inclusive - ceremony, reception, caterers, cake, and DJ were all included in our package making that piece really smooth and easy.
I also have to add that the Pier 5 Chef and Catering team were AMAZING. We had so many guests say it was the best crab cake they’d ever had. They were also so accommodating for our many allergies and dietary restrictions as well as with our request for dessert ‘shots’ - mousses and small cakes served in shot glasses or small martini glasses.
The only reason I wouldn’t give four stars is because the actual day of was a bit unorganized. I spent a great deal of time organizing and reviewing plans with Morgan and when the day came, a few things we’d discussed either didn’t happen or two friends I’d hired at the last minute to help took care of it. One such thing was making sure my vendors were fed. It was a specific request to have my photographers fed while we were eating and that didn’t happen, resulting in us missing a few sunset photos. It was still a lovely day and both the ceremony and the reception were absolutely gorgeous and stunning. You really can’t get a better waterfront set up in the city!
My husband and I had our wedding here in September 2018. It was truly magical, the upstairs had hardwood floor and the poles were painted white instead of yellow. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn and it was perfection. Morgan Sutton was our assigned coordinator for the wedding, she was wonderful.. we aren't an easy family to deal with and she was amazing. The food for dinner was incredible and the crab cakes we're off the chart and I'm from Baltimore. The drinks were great as well. Pier 5 hotel itself is not the most updated hotel but it's exactly what we wanted with the outside ceremony and indoor 180 room displaying the inner harbor. We had 120 people at our wedding. Thank you Pier 5 for an amazing wedding. I recommend having your wedding or event here.
My husband and I had our reception at Pier 5 on 11/19/2016, and 8 months later our family members are still calling and raving about the amazing time they had at the wedding! Everything was absolutely perfect. Christopher Agostino, our point of contact throughout the entire process, was friendly, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. I was planning my wedding from out of state and felt confident that everything would run smoothly the day of due to Chris’ hard work. The same is true of all of all the staff at Pier 5. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel at home. Of great importance to my husband and I was the food, which was stupendous. The entire hotel was beautiful and I cannot express how happy I am that we chose Pier 5 for our wedding reception.
Such a gorgeous venue and the staff is unbelievable! Chris is a pleasure to work with and was extremely helpful throughout the whole process! All of our guests could not stop commenting on how delicious the food was and how beautiful everything looked. If we could redo our wedding, we wouldn't change a thing!
My fiance and I wanted a venue by the water. We decided to go to an Open House that Pier 5 had as it's venue rental was reasonable and it was on the water. It wasn't long after we left the Open House and speaking with the coordinator, at the time, that we looked at each other and said, "This is the one!". We decided to host our reception in the Harbor Club room as it provides such an unique view of the city and is quite a hidden gem at sunset. We booked the venue back in February 2016 for this May 13, 2017. Sometime around the holidays, our original coordinator left for another job and Chris Agostino came into the picture. My fiance and I were both a little anxious, at first, as we had developed quite a relationship and rapport with our original coordinator. We weren't even five minutes into our first meeting with Chris, and we felt completely at ease; it was like he was our coordinator right from the beginning! As the months approached towards our big day, Chris was very responsive and professional in his correspondence with us (and our families!). Everything went smoothly on our wedding day thanks to Chris and his team's superior customer service. The next morning our family and friends could not stop raving about the views, energetic atmosphere & amazing taste (and portion sizes!) of the food.
To summarize all the reasons why we chose (and would choose again!) Pier 5:
* Unique view of Baltimore
* Great customer service from Chris and his team
* Excellent food and portion sizes
* One stop shop (provided catering, cake, DJ, centerpieces and quality linens)
I cannot stress enough how AMAZING Christopher Agostino was during the planning of my wedding/ event, the day of, and clean-up after! Our photograhphers we're a complete disaster and Chris A. stayed by our side every minute of the day to make sure the pictures weren't a complete disaster. He was by my side to bring me my coat, extra shoes, he took care of our marriage certificate, etc. His personality is WONDERFUL to work with guests and my husband and I. He made me feel calm when I was stressed, he brought out appetizers and drinks during after-ceremony pictures, etc. He was everything a day-of coordinator could be! We we're so thankful for him, we originally had another coordinator but he left and we got chris A. and THANK GOD, we did... He made this event that much more enjoyable. He always responded back to emails/texts quickly, and didnt make me feel like I was asking stupid questions (even though I know they we're dumb). He took care of people that we're stressing my husband and I out before the ceremony, things like that, that he just automatically took care of! I just cant stop praising how amazing he was, I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO any couple i KNOW getting married in the area or... pier 5! Thank you Chris, from Jen and Adam Conrad :)
As for the hotel:it was beautiful, clean, food was amazing, the guests loved the food and cake/cupcakes!
We hosted our daughter's wedding reception at Pier 5 on November 12th. The reception could not have been more perfect or more fun. The Harbor Club room was breathtaking and magical, the food, DJ, staff excellent. Thank you to Chris Agostino for all of his extra effort and hard work to make this the most wonderful reception ever!
A lot of things went wrong with my wedding, but the hotel was very helpful. They were patient went above and beyond to help with what they could. From the front desk to the runners, to the chefs, waiters and wedding coordinator - it was the little details that made a big difference and I am very pleased with this hotel and its entire staff.
We chose Pier 5 in January for our October wedding. Chris Sikora was great to work with throughout the 9 months leading up to the wedding. He really worked with us to put together all of the details that fit our style best. We had our ceremony outside in the waterfront garden and our reception in the Harbor Club. Our guests are still raving about the stunning setting, the friendly staff, and the amazing food! Shay worked with me throughout the day to take care of any and every detail. She was there for absolutely anything my husband and I needed (we were definitely never without a drink in hand!). One of the best things about Pier 5 is, if you want it to be, it can be as close to a one stop shoppe as you'll find for vendors. We went through Pier 5 for the venue setting, catering, cake, and DJ. Because of Pier 5, our wedding day was everything we could have hoped for. We had so much fun and every part of the day went smoothly. We would 100% recommend this venue to any newly engaged couples shopping around!
We had our wedding ceremony outside in the garden area by the lighthouse and the reception in the Harbor Club Room. We worked mainly with Chris Sikora and he was AWESOME. We actually went with this venue because of him and because of the floor to ceiling windows in the reception area... beautiful views. Everything was great minus a few bumps (nothing goes perfect right?). Our favor boxes that we left at the front desk for the guest staying at the hotel were not all handed out like we were promised they would be. Also one of the bartenders was rude to a few of our guests and kept mixing up drinks. But with that said the day of coordinator (Donna) was awesome... we LOVED her. The food was good, cake (which is built into the cost) was great! Overall it was a fantastic venue!
We had a wonderful wedding and reception hosted by The Admiral Fell Inn. The ceremony was right on the water, just a block from the hotel, and went off smoothly. The venue is small (max 120 guests), but has a wonderful wrap-around balcony, great food, and pleasant staff. They also handle the cake, which turned out to be the best wedding cake I've ever had. It worked for us because if was a one stop shop (ceremony, AV, reception, food/bev, cake, decor, and hotel rooms). The GM of the hotel made sure everything ran smoothly - I'd give him 6 stars!
The downsides are that there's a lot of turnover. We had 4 different event contacts in less than a year and then hardly saw our coordinator the weekend of our wedding. Luckily the GM was there to handle everything.
We had our ceremony and reception at the Pier 5 Hotel on May 2, 2015 and it was fabulous! The park that we were married in was beautiful and the circular reception room and balcony had a great view of the harbor. The whole team from Pier 5, especially Chris the Event Coordinator, were fantastic. Every detail was taken care, our food was delicious and perfect; every request was fulfilled! We were even thrown a loop the week of our wedding with the Baltimore City riots and curfews and Pier 5 handled it great and the wedding was exactly how he had planned it, PERFECT!
This is a great venue to have your ceremony and reception and we are so lucky that we found it! Don't waist time, book this venue, it was the best thing we did! Oh, and I can't mention it enough, the food is FANTASTIC!!!!!

We fell in love with Pier 5 the minute we did our walk through. We were able to have the whole thing at one location which was important as alot of our guest were commuting at least an hour to get there. Loved the fact that they could even stay at the hotel if they chose to after the wedding. Chris Sikora was great with all our questions and requests and made wedding planning so easy for us and more time for other details!!! I would definitely recommend having your wedding at Pier 5 Hotel, Baltimore, MD. The views are just absolutely stunning whether inside or out and makes your day that much more special.
We recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at Pier V. The hotel is absolutely awesome-- we wanted something that was a little more modern chic/out of the box and Pier V DEFINITELY delivered. We got lucky and had the most beautiful day for our outside ceremony overlooking the inner harbor followed by awesome views from the Harbor Club room for the reception. The suite we were given for the wedding night was HUGE and amazing (I would warn brides to consider reserving this room for the night before since the "bridal getting ready" room is kind of small, especially if you have more than 2-3 bridesmaids/girls that will be getting ready together in it). The food was absolutely AWESOME. The only slightly disappointing things were there was no wine service with dinner (we picked a more expensive package so that this would be included), our cocktail hour displays left something to be desired (so we were told by some guests) and one of our cake flavors was wrong (but still delicious). Despite a few MINOR things, there is really NOTHING we would change. They did an absolutely awesome job making sure everything was done without having to come to me with any issues the day of. Our bridal hostess, Jasmine, was awesome, and the overall wedding coordinator, Chris, really knew his stuff. They were great with communication right from the start. If we had to do it over again, we would ABSOLUTELY pick Pier V again!!
My husband and I got married at the Pier 5 Hotel in September, and we could not have been more thrilled with our experience there, specifically our wedding coordinator, Chris Sikora. We really couldn't have asked for a better wedding coordinator. He was very responsive whenever I had a question or concern, and he really helped to make everything we wanted for our wedding day become a reality.
In addition, the venue is simply beautiful. Our ceremony was outside in the Waterfront Garden, and our reception was upstairs in Harbor Club. The only thing that I wasn't too thrilled about was the concert that started next door at the Pier 6 Pavilion right when out ceremony started, but I guess you can't control everything. Luckily our guests still heard our ceremony! Despite that, everyone could not stop telling us how beautiful the venue was, and how great the food was too! We highly recommend Pier 5. Best venue in Baltimore. :)
My fiancé and I wanted a waterfront venue. After reviewing options, we went with Pier V for three major reasons: location, value, and convenience of adjoining hotel.
Re: Location
We considered two wedding spaces - the first floor with an adjoining outdoor deck (Harbor West Ballroom, very cosy with 166 seated dinner + live band + small dance floor) and the second floor overlooking the water (smaller but a much better view and more elegant feel). My fiancé was not thrilled with Harbor West because it felt conference-roomy, but we hired a piping and draping company that transformed the space. (A friend told me she didn't recognize the space when she came in, despite the many hours she had spent there for work-related events!) Throughout the reception, we kept the deck open, which gave us an entirely different feel from the ballroom/dance floor. Super nice.
Parking next door was at a reduced cost, and the hotel has a space where taxis/limos/etc can pull up easily in front and wait as long as needed. The concierge also calls cabs.
Photos/sunset on the downtown harbor can't be beat!
Re: Cost
Great value for a waterfront venue! You have to go through Pier V catering, but never fear: food was awesome! We offered steak with demiglace, salmon with pistachios, and an excellent portabello mushroom baked in a pastry dough and an extended cocktail hour. The chef even added a specialty hor d'oeuvres by request (bacon straws!). Compared with other caterers/restaurants (Saschas, Belvedere), the cost of per plate food was reasonable. In a couple of cases (Waterfront Kitchen, Classic Catering), it was less than. The beverage manager created a signature cocktail for us (lychee martinis) and added local brews on the bar per our request (for an additional charge). We set up a bar outside on the deck and in the lobby which were staffed by three bartenders so the lines were never too long. As foodies, we were very happy with the food and drink service!
You also get points under Pier V's loyalty program.
Re: Convenience
We were offered a get ready room the day of at 2pm, and decided to rent it the night before so my bridesmaids and I could stay over (at a much discounted rate of $120). We blocked 15 rooms for our guests at a wedding rate ($180?), and then were able to add 5 more rooms when those were booked. Our best man switched from the Marriott last min to the Pier V, which gave him a room last minute at our wedding rate! Superior service! Further, the great downtown location made after hours partying in Fells easy.
My fiance and I worked closely with Chris Sikora and on the day of the wedding, his coordinator Jasmine. Chris was very prompt with emails (detailed responses within a few hours!) when we first started arrangements for visits and tastings (February-March). He was very accommodating towards our myriad requests and let us measure and scope the room out several times and sent pictures of previous weddings, etc, to give us ideas. He also was flexible with our final count number, which helped since we had an older couple who cancelled last min due to health. Jasmine was also amazing. She made sure our wedding party was fed/had drinks and then decorated our honeymoon suite beautifully as a surprise.
Overall, Chris and his team gave us a truly perfect wedding with no "surprise" costs or lapses anywhere in service. They worked hard, and our guests could not stop complimenting the service, food, and venue. Thanks, Pier V!
The Harbor Club Ballroom is absolutely beautiful, I received so many compliments. Food was absolutely delicious, and Chris Sikora, the Event Manager was a pleasure to work with. No one wanted the night to end, and it's a major plus for a bride that they are pretty much all inclusive- In house Caterer, DJ, and they get your cake for you, along with a complimentary suite!!
They were amazing overall!
The venue is gorgeous! My main complaint is that the outside bar closed an hour before it was supposed to close AND the venue stopped serving drinks during dinner. This was disappointing considering we purchased the premium bar package.
Truly a phenomenal location, incredible staff, awesome food...it was everything I had hoped and dreamed of and more!
It was magical! The staff through the whole process from booking the event until we checked out the day after our wedding were always gracious, friendly and accommodating to all my questions and concerns!
The staff the night of the wedding kept everyone on time and moving. I never had a doubt in my mind once I checked in that day that everything would not go perfectly.
My guests commented on how fun the food servers were, how incredible the chicken was and of course the view is the best in the city!
I would recommend this location over and over again....and so would the 98 other people that attended our event! It was all the little touches.... TRULY PHENOMENAL!
The Admiral Fell facilitated the wedding of our dreams. We communicated our wedding vision to them and they made it a reality. The staff was so friendly and accommodating to our guests all weekend at the hotel. The only downside is the rooms were $169/night but since every one of our guests were from out of town, we asked them to work on the price for us. They brought it down to $149. After taxes and fees, it was still about $185/night. Other than that, we LOVED this venue. The Bond Street Pier was breathtaking for our ceremony.
We booked our May 2013 wedding at Pier 5 back in August of 2012. We got off to a rocky start, with the hotel going through 3 wedding coordinators before we got one that stuck around-- and Chris is AWESOME -- and with all of the staffing changes, paperwork got lost and things had to be redone which resulted in a lot of frustration and uneasy feelings on our part. After landing with Chris, everything went so so smooth. I got quick responses to questions before our big day and he made sure that our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception went smoothly. Many of our guests commented on how it was the best wedding they'd ever been to and what a beautiful venue it was. We got married on Sunday because of the cheaper wedding package being available, and it was definitely worth the (still considerable amount)money!
My daughter's wedding was at the Admiral Fell Inn on Memorial Day weekend. We had a wonderful day and a great experience planning the event with Kristina. The wedding venue on the pier was beautiful. Our florist, Studio In Bloom, had created the perfect arrangement for the ceremony and, as we experienced for the entire day, the staff at the Admiral Fell Inn helped make sure every detail of the plan was made possible with their hard work. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful setting and day. One of the best parts of the Admiral Fell Inn is the location because all of the guests enjoyed eating, sightseeing, and shopping in Fells Point along with having just a short walk to all the other Harbor Magic hotels the guests used and the Baltimore harbor area. We had a wonderful reception in The Admiral Ballroom. The staff was excellent, friendly, and gracious, and worked so hard the entire evening. We had a beautiful view overlooking the city from all around the room and a balcony where many of the guests enjoyed the groom's cigar table. We were able to include a photo booth in one of the rooms so people were able to spread out and enjoy each other's company all evening. The dance floor was full from the moment the music started. We had so many compliments from our guests who enjoyed the food, the locations throughout the day, and just the great experience we had at Admiral Fell Inn. It was a great day and I am so thankful to Kristina and her team for making it perfect.
My experience with Harbor Magic Hotels was AMAZING!!! Kristina Yepes did such an amazing job as the site/wedding coordinator I hardly had to do anything! The weather wasn't so great the day of, so we had a last minute ceremony switch from the Bond Street Pier to the reception venue (Admiral Fell Inn 5th floor reception room) and it all went so smoothly! Food was amazing, cake was amazing, everyone completemented us on what a great time they had! Thanks again Harbor Magic!
We had a beautiful wedding day in the Lighthouse Garden and Harbor Club at Pier 5. I am very happy with the service we received from Chris Sikora and Miss Donna on our wedding day. However, leading up to the wedding, we experienced a lot of staff turnover and lack of communication. We had a total of 5 different contacts at Pier 5 during the year that we were planning our wedding, and no one communicated the changes to us. After several weeks of trying to reach our contact person, I would finally reach someone else in the Sales Department, who would tell me that we had a new contact person. For the cost of their service, and considering they are trying to be a very upscale venue, I think Pier 5 should be more organized and attentive. That being said, once Chris took over (about 3 weeks before our wedding), I finally began getting information and feeling more comfortable that someone, other than me, was paying attention to the planning of our wedding. However, it was also frustrating, because then things started being brought up that were different than what we were told by numerous others previously (like "you can't have your cocktail hour there" despite us having that plan in place for a year!). Ultimately, though, Chris was accommodating and very helpful on the day of the wedding. We also had help from Miss Donna on our wedding day, and she was awesome! Our entire bridal party and our parents were so impressed with her service. She is helpful, laid back, but also really excited about her job. Her excitement was contagious and kept us relaxed and happy throughout the day. She is a gem! At the reception, our food was good, and the Harbor Club was beautiful. Our guests really enjoyed the balcony and the dance floor. We used Music Masters for our DJ (because their equipment is elevated in the Harbor Club, and does not take up space in the room), and we were extremely happy with our DJ, Mike Lorenzo. I definitely recommend the Harbor Club and Pier 5... Hopefully Chris and Miss Donna will stick around!
Using Harbor Magic as our venue for our May wedding was the best decision we could have made. The indoor and outdoor locations are gorgeous and elegant for any wedding type! Upon selecting the Admiral Fell Inn we were given a coordinator who was with us every step up the way. Kristina was always there to listen to our wants and needs and never made us feel we were being unrealistic or that something could not be done. We felt totally taken care of leading up to our big day! We were given very personal treatment on the day of our wedding to the smallest details including taking care of my dress before the ceremony, staying hidden from one another, refilling drinks, etc! They are very accommodating in helping you with the set up and removal of the things you bring for your ceremony and reception. We even had a celebratory bottle of champagne waiting for us in our suite! You feel first class in selecting Harbor Magic, especially The Admiral Fell Inn! Our guests had an amazing time and we knew it had a lot to do with our venue selection!
WOW... never could have dreamed up a better venue for a wedding. We had originally planned for about 120 people, but were able to cut it down to 90. To start off, we used this Pier 5 Hotel for both our ceremony (in the waterfront lighthouse garden), and the reception (in the GORGEOUS harbor club room). Let me tell you this, there is no better venue than a place that allows you to get married right on the waterside of the harbor, and carry your after party up to a room with a 280 degree view of the harbor and watch the sunset into the rest of your evening! Our guests could not tell us enough how beautiful the venue was. From start to finish, Kristina, our wedding coordinator, helped with every necessary detail possible. She was very responsive to our emails/phone calls and kept us extremely comfortable up the the time the entire event was finished. At first, we were unsure of how to set the room up, she provided the best possible arrangement that proved to work perfectly. Then, we were unsure of our first food tasting, she arranged a second tasting where we found an AWESOME dish that everyone raved about! The day of, both Kristina and Donna catered the the bride and grooms every need, including making sure that our favorite drinks were always at an arms reach away and bringing us appetizers during our picture taking! By the next morning, all of our arrangements, gifts, and extras were all staged for us neatly in a wedding holding room so that we could checkout with ease. Overall, this event just made us both want to get married again and we would do it at no other place than the Pier 5 Hotel. Thanks Kristina and all of the Pier 5 staff!!!
We had our ceremony and reception at the hotel. Our wedding turned out beautiful, the ceremony room and reception were set up beautifully. Donna our bridal hostess was amazing and made my day so smooth. The bridal suites were both amazing. I did not give 5 stars because the hotel caused stress prior to our wedding bc they booked an event back to back to ours which caused some stress and delay of our ceremony and they did not save the rest of our wedding cake for us after the reception was over. Overall, our wedding was everything we wanted. I recommend having your wedding here but just make sure you are on top of everyone working with you at the hotel. I also recommend going with Music Masters bc they are affiliated with Pier 5 and they made our night spectacular!
Overall I feel the Pier 5 is an amazing place for your wedding! There were quite a few bumps along the way that I think come with any wedding though. The communication between catering and myself was probably the worst. The department went through two planners during the early months of my planning and the third was never told to me until I was left in the dark for about a month.I had to call the front desk and track down the new one. The venue was gorgeous and the food got great reviews. Donna, who was with us that night, was AMAZING! She made sure we had everything we needed, got our rooms situated, always made sure we had a drink in our hands and were happy too. There was a major detail missed during our reception that bummed my fiance and I out but didn't let ruin the night. For example a family drink was requested instead of the traditional champagne toast but when we entered the room the champagne was on the table. The drink was made available at the bar but when it was something we discussed 3-4 times we thought it would be there. A few guests, upon check in, had to wait a VERY long time for their room which made to a shaky start of the weekend but once in their rooms they remarked that the views were great and rooms were clean and beautiful. My guests had nothing but rave reviews all night over the bartenders great service and unique drinks, delicious food (great choice of menu and ability to substitute out items) and great music. Aside from the minor bumps that didn't affect the big day or night it was a great process and Dana Clark, our planner, did everything she could to ensure the day/night would be beautiful. Over all I would recommend the Pier 5 to friends because you don't get a better view of the harbor than from the Harbor Club at Pier 5.
My husband and I were truly impressed by the level of quality with the Admiral Fell Inn. Previous to the wedding, most of our family choses to stay in the hotel when they come to visit. They have courteos staff and very good rates for guests. What I really loved was that most "extras" were included in the wedding package. This included a cake from Sugar Bakers, a vintage car for photos for 4 hours, and a complimentary bridal suite. It was wonderful to not have to worry about those little extras. Additionally, the planning process was very smooth as we had contact with our wedding coordinator from the venue on a weekly basis. We can honestly say that we heard nothing but excellent comments from our friends and family about how lovely it was, and how nice the staff was. We had a wonderful experience.
I was very excited to work with Pier 5. I was offered a great deal for the money we spent. After I signed the contract it went down hill from there. My 1st coordinator received rave reviews on other wedding websites, so I was thrilled to be working with her. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the stellar experience noted in other's reviews. I had to reach out to her to introduce myself and get the ball rolling. She was pleasant to work with, but ended up going on maternity leave prior to my event. I was then passed to another coordinator who carried us through the week before my event. I was informed by my DJ service that the 2nd coordinator was no longer with Pier 5. I found receiving this info a week before my event, from another vendor, highly unacceptable. I had to reach out to the 3rd coordinator, to ensure that the details were properly translated to her. The transition between all of the coordinators was NOT seamless, and I ended up with a botched bill that I had to haggle down to what I knew I owed. My rehearsal was a mess, upon check-in the day of my wedding my room reservations were not properly noted, after my wedding I had no place to sleep, as someone at the front desk allowed a groomsman to check into the honeymoon suite, I paid for 4 passed hor d'ouevres and only received three. The list goes on. I am extremely disappointed in my experience with Pier 5, but I am giving them a slight benefit of the doubt due to the turnover in staff. The manager was receptive to my complaints, and did all he could to rectify things while he was there. I would be hesitant to recommend Pier 5 to anyone currently, but this honestly could have been due to the staff turnover. My bridal hostess at the reception was actually phenomenal! Document and retain everything in writing, and stay on top of the event coordinator, is the advice I would give if you choose to go with this venue. I could have done without all of the confusion, but I would still recommend them.
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Pier 5 hotel and it was the wedding we didn't even know we were dreaming of! The ceremony was in the outdoor garden (beautiful) and the reception was in the upstairs Harbor Club. The whole process went smoothly-Jill (our coordinator) was responsive and helpul through all the planning.
The package we got was great too-it included an excellent cake and even small extras like a lemonade stand at the outdoor ceremony. Our included hotel room that night was great too-all of our gifts and things were brought in there for us, champagne, tons of candles and rose petals were set around. It was fantastic :)
We did have some problems in the beginning with our guests booking rooms (our block was under "Dordell" instead of "Cordell"), but Jill handle it. The day of the wedding, Jill and Donna, our bridal hostess, took care of any problems that came up and I had no stress (other vendors acknowledge how calm I was all day). I also would have liked to see a proper invoice along the way to track expenses better, but we didn't end up having any surprises on the final bill, so it was okay. Also an FYI, the Harbor Club has a limit of 150 guests, but we had 140 and when everyone was in the room it felt a little bit crowded. No one complained though, just keep it in mind.
All of our guests told us we had the best party and that's exactly what I wanted-thanks to Pier 5!
Harbor Magic take care of 90% of the occassion to hopefully make for a convenient experience. Unfortunately our co-ordinator whilst generally responsive was never proactive in advising what we needed to do when, so everything was a rush. We paid 6.5 hours for a DJ for ceremony and reception. The DJ arrived at the end of the cocktail hour, his stand in messed up the ceremony sounds, and the hotel sound system did not work (despite assurances before the event having been warned by friends who had recently attended weddings there). We paid a significant amount for dinner options, which were not relayed to the catering staff so many people did not get their choice of entrees, and the children's entree was nuggets and fries despite clearly requesting child portions of the healthier adult option. Bar closed for an hour during dinner without the requested warning and remained shut beyond the agreed hour. Compulsory 22% gratuity on top of an extremely expensive event for what was poor service. My email raising these issues was completely ignored by Harbor Magic. The hotel staff on the day were friendly polite and helpful, but the organizational staff had put them in an impossible position.
Rev. Laura Cannon was amazing!!! Even though it rained on our parade, she brought so much sunshine to our ceremony. We were so extremely happy with your delivery of our vows. Laura's commitment, passion, charismatic personality, and sincerity was demonstrated on the day of our wedding. All of our family and friends kept on coming up to us and remarking just how wonderful Laura was during the ceremony! We feel truly blessed to have her marry us and can't thank herenough. I would definitely pass on her name to others who are engaged!!! Thank you once again for making our day so much more special!
My husband and I could not have dreamed of a more perfect place to get married than Pier 5!! When we originally visited, we had seen 3 places prior and knew the minute we walked into the hotel that this was where we wanted to have our wedding. The hotel is beautiful, the garden view amazing, the staff so professional, and Jill - the best!! Financially, we didn't think it would be possible to have our wedding at Pier 5, but Jill worked with us endlessly until we made it happen! From the beginning to the end, Jill and her staff were wonderful. She was easy to reach, always quick to respond, and really flexible. She was always there to listen to us, offer suggestions, and never made us feel like we were a handful (which i'm sure we were at times:)) Aside from the staff and location, one thing that we really appreciated was that other vendors (DJ and Bakery) contract with Pier 5 to make it a bit of a 'one stop shop.' The DJ company was wonderful to work with and the bakery made the most delicious cake - our guests still rave that it was the best cake ever! The best part of wedding planning was the food tasting that we did with Jill, which included picking our appetizers, salad, main courses, and cake. Jill and the kitchen staff were so flexible, even offering to make things for us to try that we didn't choose ahead of time, and everything was amazing! By the time the day of our wedding arrived, we knew we didn't have to worry about anything. We had 100% confidence in Jill and the staff. Everything was so beautiful and absolutely perfect - so much more that we could have ever imagined! Thanks so much Jill and Pier 5!!!
i hesitate to gush too much about P5 out of fear of sounding disingenuous, but i really truly mean it when i say that every single aspect of our wedding weekend was perfect, due in very large part to the staff, location, and cost of P5. it truly is a hidden gem in that almost none of our guests had ever even heard of it - which really added to the wow factor of being able to be married outside, in a beautiful garden, with the sun setting over the harbor behind us. P5 is as pricey as you make it - they have many plans to choose from, all of which they are willing to modify as you wish. we id a lot of the work ourelves for the wedding to try to keep things intimate, personal, and inexpensive. but we were still dependant on P5 to get our ideas done right, our centerpieces correct, our special accomodations met, etc. and not only did they not disappoint, they far surpassed what we were hoping to receive. from day one they were attentive without being pandering. they were firm but flexible. they were open to new ideas but also always ready with solutions to isses we could not seem to get past. the food was AMAZING. we did food stations which allowed for many options for our guests, thereby keeping us from falling victim to hosting a wedding with boring weding food. the location could not be more convenient - we made a weekend out of it with out of towners heading to bridal lunches and O's games - also a bonus to our guests as they all felt as though they had gotten a weekend away, with a little old wedding in the middle. i'll keep the details of our day private, but will say that our wedding absolutely was one that i would change nothing about, and we owe that to P5.
We are so happy with this venue. Our ceremony was at the lighthouse garden and was majestic, the pictures and the videos are splendid. We then went upstairs to the Harbor Club room and the views of the water and light harbor buildings were unbelievable. The food and cake got rave reviews and i was so impressed with the service of the staff. Many guests stated its the best wedding they've ever been to and asked how did we find this amazing venue. Please consider and go visit if you are considering a Baltimore waterfront venue. Most affordable of all the venues we searched. Jill Jenkins who we worked with is fantastic.
We held our wedding in the Lighthouse Garden outside of the Pier 5 Hotel and it was amazing! It was August so it was very warm but the breeze coming off the water made it comfortable. The view from the Harbor Club is spectacular (where we had our reception) and the food was amazing. They gave us a great deal too!
Pier 5 was a beautiful venue for my wedding reception. The view from the Harbor Club of the Baltimore Harbor is amazing. The Harbor Club has a wrap around balcony that allows for guests to walk outside. The food was delicious, the service was great, and we got tons of compliments. When our limo was running extremely late, Jill at Pier 5 arranged for their shuttle to take us to the church. When the hotel room we were supposed to stay in was having problems (ex. AC broke) a couple of days before the wedding, Jill apologized profusely and set us up in an equally nice (perhaps even nicer) room with an additional night for free. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of a couple smaller things, including one layer of our cake was chocolate rasberry instead of chocolate mousse (not sure if this was the fault of the planner at Pier 5 or the bakery) and the parking lot (where we had paid for guests to park) was not clearly marked, so many guests parked in another lot marked for Pier 5 and had to pay. Overall though, we had an amazing experience!
As the mother of the bride, I must say the venue at Pier 5 Hotel was a perfect setting for an outside ceremony in Baltimore. The bay, ships, lighthouse, and green area all made for the perfect ambience.
The indoor reception had a panoramic view of the harbor.
Everyone raved about the food, drink and cake. Top notch for sure. It was also nice to have a staff that had everything under control. Our wedding specialist Jill did a good job!
I just got married at Pier 5 Hotel. The weather was beautiful so I got married on their outside venue. Everything went smooth the chairs were set up. The only problem was their sound system. I was warned by another review that the microphone would go in and out. I emailed the wedding planner about it and was told the wind makes the microphone go in and out. It wasn't windy that day and the microphone did go in and out so the hotel really needs to invest in a new system.
The reception was beautiful and Donna the bride's assistant is amazing. Everything went smoothly and the food was amazing. The DJ was great and I would highly recommend having your wedding at the Pier 5. Everyone is polite and nice. The holding room was big and everyone had plenty of room to get ready.
We chose the Pier 5 Hotel for our wedding ceremony and for our reception (Lighthouse Garden & Harbor Magic Club). Everyone who worked in the Pier 5 were professional, courteous, and fun! Our wedding was amazing and we owe a big part of that to the Pier 5 staff, especially the event coordinator there, Jill. She was insightful and aided me in making some tough decisions so that our day went stress free! We had recieved everything we asked for and more from them and our guests enjoyed the wedding and the atmosphere surrounding the location. This was a big plus for me because most of my family members live out of town. If you're looking for a location that will give your wedding a special touch of magic, go check out the Pier 5 Hotel!
I am so excited about my wedding, it was the best time of my life! The Admiral Fell Inn was the best choice for our wedding, the staff were friendly and had an excellent attention to detail. I need to mention the in all of the research I did for planning my venue, this hotel was the best value that I found hands down. Kristina, who works for Harbor Magic was a dream to work with, she made me feel so special, I can not say enough nice things about her or the work she put into our wedding. The linens, table, decor were so beautiful and elegant. I can't believe that I was lucky enough to find this place or the people who work there. The food was excellent, the chef was top notch, all of my guests said that the food was wonderful! I want to tell everyone that this is such a chic, and lovely venue! Go there and get married for sure;)
I planned my wedding for two years to hand it over to a planner that destroyed it in one day. Pier 5 Hotel offers amazing scenery and false promises. I was promised that there would be people to escort my guest to the ceremony site. There wasn't a sou there to direct anyone. I ran into several guest while in my gown! My marriage license and the ministers belongings were given to a random server to hold. There was no microphone for the minister to use during the ceremony although he and I had requested one at the rehearsal. There were only two servers at cocktail hour to accommodate for 140 guest. My menus were placed outside of the reception room around the guest book causing the most confusing transition I have ever witnessed. There was not enough food for my reception although I paid for 145 guest to be served. My cake (that had to be ordered through the hotel) was missing flowers. We were never provided an accurate count of the guest that utilized the parking facility and many guest did not receive validation. At no time did I see my event planner, Jill Jenkins troubleshoot to remedy any of these issues. My family and I organized a meeting with the hotel manager who requested that we give him some time to investigate our complaints. We were promised some feedback. It has been almost a month and no one has contacted us regarding our concerns. To All Brides: Be careful with this hotel and its promises.
I wanted to share with you my wonderful experience that we had for our wedding day at the pier 5 hotel. My fiance and I were interested in being married in the outdoors and we could not have asked for a better spot as the Pier 5 Hotel a waterfront garden area behind the hotel. All of the staff members were very welcoming and are kind-natured. They responded to our questions in a timely manner and were very professional. The quality of the food was exceptional and the staff members placed extra effort into making sure that all of our needs were met. I highly recommend you with choosing this venue for your wedding as I am sure that you will have a fantastic experience as we did. We are very happy with Harbor Magic Hotels and know that we chose the very best place to get married and to have a reception!
My husband and I recently got married at the Pier 5 Hotel on May 27. We couldn't have been happier from beginning to end! First and foremost, our on-site coordinator, Jill Jenkins, was incredible. In truth, we had wanted to have our wedding somewhere else and had almost signed the contract, but when we met Jill and started working out some of the details with her, we realized how important it would be to have an amazing, attentive, and thoughtful on-site coordinator like Jill. We couldn't be happier that we decided to go with Jill and the Pier 5 Hotel! She made the whole process smooth, fun, exciting, and stress free for us. She was extremely accommodating and worked hard to get us everything we wanted and still within our price range. We loved our entire wedding day from beginning to end - everything was above and beyond our expectations. Our guests continue to comment on how perfect everything was. I even got my own bridal assistant for the day of the wedding (who brought me water, champagne, etc., fluffed my dress, and did all the little things I asked her to do). We had a gorgeous bridal suite to get ready in, which was spaceous enough for me and my 8 bridesmaids. From the rehearsal dinner, which Jill ran (making it fun instead of stressful to be the bride and groom), to the beautifully set up ceremony, the delicious food, and finally, to coming back to our room set up with candles and rose petals at the end of the night, it was a magical day for us. I recommend it without reservation!
We had our wedding at the Pier 5 Hotel and it was perfect! Jill Jenkins was our wedding coordinator and took care of everything we needed and answered the countless questions I had with plenty of patience. She was so personal and a pleasure to work with. The Harbor Club was absolutely breathtaking and a perfect venue for the wedding. Everything from the service to the food to the attendants was outstanding and we couldn't have hoped for more. Everyone commented on how much they loved the venue and the overall experience.
I would recommend the Pier 5. hotel it is a beautiful hotel and the harbor club is amazing! We had a awesome bridal host coordinating our day and a team full of hard workers! The only negative thing I have to say is that some of the consultants are a little snoody and unorganized be sure to keep copies of everything and anything they tell you during consultation may not be accurate.Depending who you consult with some employees are unsure of policies .
Our ceremony and reception were both held at Pier 5. Everything was perfect. The staff went above and beyond anything we could have asked for. Our wedding coordinator Jill was such a great help and made everything perfect!
We have spent many of days in Fells Point, so when we got engaged it only made sense to look at venues in the area. We look at a few and many of them were newer and bigger, however, none with the charm or intimacy of the Admiral Fell Inn. As soon as we looked at the space and the outdoor pier we were sold. It was very easy to plan our wedding because they took care of a lot; from the food, open bar, linens, and candles. There were also many extras that were included, the cake (from SugarBakers!!!), a Roles Royce, the wedding suite, and free valet parking for our guests. I was a little worried when my original wedding coordinator left and I received an email from Kristina. I felt like I would have to start all over again from the beginning. But that was not the case. We met with Kristina and she immediately put our mind at ease. She took care of everything, right down to the details. She followed up with us regularly, worked with us on any minor issues that would arise and made sure they were taken care of immediately. She was AMAZING to work with and they are lucky to have her on board. Then we went for our tasting...yum! That is were we met Donna. Donna was one of the servers that night and we all just hit it off. We requested for her to be there the night of our wedding. And again, Kristina made it happen. Donna was my bridal attendant, and I must say, I have never felt so taken care of before. She definitely aims to please. I have so many guests tell me "the food is marvelous!" and "this is the best wedding I have ever been to." That is exactly what we wanted to hear. The goal for us was to relax, and to make sure our guests felt comfortable and had a ton of fun. The Admiral Fell Inn and their staff truly came through for us! They made our special day/night one that we (or our guests) will never forget! We are now just looking for another reason to throw a big party there :-)
Our wedding could not have been more perfect! Jill Jenkins, our coordinator at Pier 5 Hotel, was a God-send. She was personal, asked great questions, tended to our every need and want, and was instrumental in making our wedding the joy that it was at Pier 5. Especially, since we only called Jill and booked the location just 3-4 weeks before our wedding date! The view of the harbor at sunset was breathtaking! Every detail was exquisite from the wedding cake to the linens to the impeccable service. And, the cost was "eye-poppingly" inexpensive, too! We couldn't believe how much we got for so little money! Jill made sure to take care of everything and did it all with a huge smile and beautiful heart! Thank you so much--we could NOT have done any of it without you!
Getting married soon and I can't complain. Much cheaper on a Friday night.
We just had a wedding at the Admiral Fell Inn and overall had a nice experience. However we do have some "Buyer Beware" issues. But first, the positives: The AFI is in historic Fell's Point, Baltimore, and provided atmosphere, shops, and restaurants for our guests staying at the hotel. The hotel itself has colonial charm and is nicely decorated. The rooms are somewhat small, and there is only a wardrobe for clothing, but hey--we coped. We had our ceremony at the Bond Street Pier, 2 blocks from the hotel and is a public grassy point on the more industrial part of the Baltimore harbor. (Extra fee, waived if inclement weather--make sure it's in writing.) But we liked that! The reception was at the AFI, and overall was a nice affair. Many of our guests made a point of telling us how much they enjoyed the food. (We had a complimentary tasting for 4, 4 months earlier and the choices are nicely varied.) There is an outdoor balcony, but as it was a bit chilly was not accessed. We had 115 people and the main room is adequate, but a bit tight for the 12 tables, plus DJ, plus dance floor, plus cake table. There are 2 adjoining rooms where the 2 bars, gift table and candy station were set up. They also were used for the cocktail hour and were set up nicely. Their wedding package included: Complimentary food tasting for 4, Complimentary rehearsal the day before, complimentary use for 3 hours of a Rolls Royce. We had a silver RR with uniformed driver which was very nice! It also included the wedding cake, which was beautiful--we added ribbon and floral accents. The cake was delicious! Also complimentary gift bags with Baltimore-themed items--saved us from supplying those for guests. The bride's room was half price the night before the wedding, and the bride and groom were not charged for their room on the wedding night. The day-of coordinator did a good job, but with a LOT of prep from us. There was a "bridal hostess" who did not arrive until 3:30 (for wedding at 4:30) and was of limited assistance.
We also had a breakfast for guests on Sunday morning and it was nice, but very pricey. I would probably not do that again.
Now for the negatives: The coordinator that we worked with for 4 months left (or was laid off or fired--not sure) so we had a new one with 2 months to go!! We essentially had to start over as there was no hand-off from the old coordinator to the new one. She just had a folder with the initial contract, and some emails from us.
For the final 2 months, we experienced multiple emails, phone calls, and a lot of frustration trying to nail down the details. As mentioned above, on the day of the rehearsal and the actual wedding, she did a good job, which was much appreciated, but it required a ton of work on our part to make her look good. WE did the work and passed on the instructions to her.
The billing and accounting at the AFI is a NIGHTMARE! They tried on several occasions to ignore already-agreed-upon discounts, and added costs not agreed upon. Their billing system is IMPOSSIBLE to follow and therefore IMPOSSIBLE to know what you are actually being charged for. (My husband is a finance person and he couldn't figure out the billing). He went over things with the coordinator's supervisor, and (surprise!) she hadn't added in everything and so the bill was actually higher than what was sent to us. There was even an additional day of parking added on to the bride's room charge which we did not notice u
When we went to visit we knew immediately that it was the place we wanted to have our wedding ceremony and reception. The venue is very unique and beautiful. We worked with Jill as our coordinator and she was very pleasant to work with and very helpful. Our ceremony was held outdoors on the waterfront and the reception was in the harbor club. It was truly a magical day. The food was excellent and the cake was amazing. Our friends and family were very impressed with everything. Overall we are very pleased with our decision to have our wedding at Pier 5,
The staff at the Admiral Fell could not have been more cooperative and accomodating. The service was excellent; Emily made sure my husband and I got drinks and food all night, and Samantha even procured my favorite Spanish cava so that I could drink that exclusively all night! The food was amazing; all of our guests raved about it, and the bridal suite was gorgeous and romantic. I would definitely recommend the Admiral Fell to anyone looking for service above and beyond what you would normally expect from a wedding vendor.
They were so amazing. the room was spectacular and they even had champagne and a gift waiting for us. the bed was so comfortable. Their staff made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed they even followed up after we got home. The view of fells point is great too. I loved this hotel
My husband and I had our cocktail hour and reception on the Inner Harbor at Pier 5 and had a simply wonderful experience! The staff was able to help execute all of our little details and help make it so we could simply enjoy knowing they would handle any of our guests needs. Not only was the service great; however, the view is the best in the harbor! We looked at a variety of hotels in the Inner Harbor area and truly Pier 5 has the best view. The food was also great! We got a great discount by getting married on a Friday and truly we are so glad we did! Wedding expenses add up and that helped us have enough to cover our flowers, cake additions, etc. Our guest loved all the details, the view, and still tell us it was the party of the year. The DJ is actually above the dance floor which means maximum windows overlooking the harbor. Summary: Pier 5 helped us have a lovely wedding reception! Our pics turned out great!!
Our experience with the Admiral Fell Inn was wonderful. From the patience and cooperation of Christina, Catering Sales Manager, to the Hotel Manager, Ted, and Dorian, the Front Desk Manager. They along with their team helped to make our weekend flow without a hitch. Even before our weekend, Brett made accommodations for a sick family member. Each and every detail was appreciated. The food was amazing. Our rehearsal dinner, held in the Stone Room, was superb. Our only regret was that we didn't get an extra hour for our reception!
My husband and I had an amazing wedding at Pier 5! Lee Johnson was our point of contact and did a great job helping us plan our wedding. He was able to keep my husband's groom's cake a secret from him for me and it was so much more that I could have imagined!! Lee was also great at keeping me calm amidst all of the natural disasters that were occurring around our wedding day (an earthquake had hit on Tuesday and a hurricane was on its way). Thankfully our day was absolutely perfect! Our guests have all said what an amazing time they had and how beautiful it was!
Jill Jenkins was also amazing, she was one of our bridal attendants the day of the wedding. She put me and my girls in the most beautiful suite overlooking the harbor on one side and my husband and his guys in another suite on the other side. She and Donna (our other bridal attendant) provided us with everything and more that we could have needed.
We feel so blessed to have had such an amazing wedding that we will remember the rest of our lives!
Thank you so much to Lee, Jill, Donna and the rest of the staff at Pier 5 hotel!
