Lexie was WONDERFUL and so accommodating! She worked with us on everything she wanted and made the day so easy and relaxing. The Hyatt was beautiful and the views at the Pier Top were magical. I couldn't have asked for a better venue!
This was absolutely the best venue for my daughter's wedding. We had 250 guests and most were from out of town!!! We had so much fun!!! The facility itself was great with huge beautiful pools and jacuzzi, the greens full of activities for children and adults to do. Shuttle to beach and a wonderful Marina for water activities and we were able to charter a boat to take all our guests to a restaurant on the intracoastal for rehearsal dinner. The wedding ceremony was high up on the pier top where you have magnificent panoramic view of the beach, cruise ships from the port, and the city of Fort Lauderdale. The hotel also has very experienced catering managers who helped us with all the details for a reception of 250. Jena policastro was so sweet and wonderful to work with!!! She was a delight and was always calm and tries as hard as possible to make our daughters wedding just as she imagined. We feel so happy and lucky to have the wedding at this venue!
Pier 66 and their staff were friendly and helpful. We worked with Christi for our wedding. Her and her team members were very professional. We had our wedding at the Pier Top and could not have asked for a more perfect venue for our reception. Our wedding was during the International Boat Show (which they hosted) and our wedding went on without a problem. Gorgeous 360 view of Fort Lauderdale. Would highly recommend as a wedding vendor.
I was a destination bride, which always makes planning a bit more difficult. However, once my fiance and I saw the Pier Top Ballroom, we knew we had found our venue. Christi in catering was incredibly helpful and accomodating in the planning process. I cannot thank her or the staff at the hotel enough. We were treated like royalty during our entire stay.
The wedding ceremony and reception were flawless, and the reception was truly breathtaking. Our guests were blown away. Everything about the Hyatt exceeded my expectations. If I had to do it all over again, I would not change one thing!
Thank you Christi & Pier Sixty Six Staff! We will be back soon! :)
We recently held my daughter's wedding at Pier 66. We worked with Jena who was amazing from start to finish. The resort offers beautiful views, great restaurants and bars, and an amazing spa for guests. The wedding itself went off without a hitch. The venue set up was lovely, the cocktail hour food, delicious and the reception food was the best I've ever had at ANY wedding I've attended. The chef is absolutely terrific! The food tasted exactly like it did at the tasting, and the cake vendor they use is fabulous. We received numerous compliments and could not be happier that we chose this venue. The only problem we encountered throughout the process was with the room blocks. There were many people who worked to correct the problems, but we still had some guests placed in Marina rooms when they had reserved tower rooms months earlier. Jena was great in helping to straighten room problems out prior to the wedding, but there were guests who did not tell us their requests were not honored as they checked in on the day of the wedding and didn't want to burden us. In light of everything else, the room situation did not alter my perception that Pier 66 was the perfect spot for our perfect event. Elegant venue, first class service and an event planner who was always on point and so easy to work with, made this experience extremely positive and memorable. I highly recommend Pier 66!!
We originally had a different catering manager who was amazing. Sadly, that catering manager parted ways with the hotel mid way through our planning process. There were some hiccups in the transition to another catering manager - and then another, but our event ultimately turned out beautiful. All of our guests enjoyed their stay, the food was great, and everything went off without a hitch.
Their is no other venue like Pier 66. The view from the pier top is breath taking. Their price is high but you have to negotiate to what you want. I gave a 4 star because they served the wrong meal thank what was selected. They have a wedding person but I recommend getting a day of person because if I had that many things that went wrong would not have.
I have no words to describe how bad I was treated in this hotel. I had such a disappointing and sad experience with my reservation at this hotel for my wedding night. We booked our room a week before our wedding. We specifically reserved a KING room, I even happily put a note saying "we are honeymooners! :)". We arrived to the hotel at 6:15am straight from our wedding, all dressed up and smiley after such a wonderful night. The valet guy was so excited to see us arriving! When we got to the front desk, Cassandra asked for our reservation, and after a few seconds she just said she didn't have a room for us at the moment. We were in shock, couldn't understand what was happening. We mentioned we had a reservation and gave her the number, and she said, literally, "reservations don't guarantee any room". She mentioned she had a room with two singles, so she suggested we stay there until a king becomes available. We were in shock that she would suggest something like that to honeymooners. She had a terrible attitude, totally indifferent to the fact we just got married and we did everything right. I started crying because of frustration, she just couldn't care less about us or our special "moment". It was terrible. We had to leave when it was still night (6:30am), with no clue where to go and where to spend our night. At the end we went to the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina right next to the Hyatt, and they booked us right away, the lady even gave us one of the two nights for free and a free breakfast for my husband and myself. She even hugged me since I arrived crying. The Hilton was SO wonderful and perfect for us. I just can't believe a renowned chain like a Hyatt would hire such a terrible worker like Cassandra, and would be so indifferent with their customers specially when they were the ones who FAILED. The only wonderful person there was the valet parking guy.
We just held our daughter's wedding at the Hyatt Pier 66 in the Pier Top Room. Oh my goodness, it couldn't have been more beautiful, the view amazing, and the reception perfectly executed.
We worked with Alison Brickman, and I must say, she is absolutely amazing. Her execution and attention to detail is unmatched. She and her event staff are simply incredible! She definitely went that extra mile to make sure every detail was covered. I admit I was very nervous, but getting to know Alison and her work ethic made me more and more comfortable. Her response to e-mails is always immediate and not only does she take care of the matter at hand, she keeps precise notes so that when your special day is there, she executes. She couldn't have done anything more . . . she listened to our every concern and request and made it all a beautiful reality!
The cocktail hour was amazing - the food display was incredible and the passed hors d'oeuvres delicious! Regarding the reception food, I remember making the comment at our food tasting . . . "this food is incredible, but I can't imagine that it will be this good when they are serving so many guests". Well, their chefs delivered the same amazing food right to our guests' tables!
In addition to the reception, we held a breakfast by the pool the following morning. We walked up to a beautifully presented event. The food display was perfect, the bartender so personable, and the tables were decorated with our wedding flowers. So beautifully prepared!
We, and our guests, were so impressed by the beauty of the venue, the amazing food, and the perfection of their wedding execution! Alison is incredible and I would highly recommend her and Pier 66 to everyone!
I can write a few pages of information about my recent stay here, but I'll keep it kind of short and to the point. I spent close to $15,000 here for my wedding ceremony and reception recently. The person responsible for coordinating our wedding originally was very bad at returning phone calls or emails and eventually quit without notice. This led to my wedding having to be rescheduled because the hotel booked a convention the weekend of my wedding, and my file "fell through the cracks" as quoted by a staff member. I was compensated a small monetary amount and rescheduled the wedding. The days before my wedding the person responsible for coordinating our rooms and guests accommodations did not respond to emails. My wife-to-be at the time and I were booked rooms right next door to each other and then told there were no other rooms available. Our guests weren't allowed to check in until 30mins prior to the ceremony unless they were lucky enough to get an early check-in. My wife-to-be had 3 cards that contained cash and checks that were stolen out of her room, and the manager Glenn Spanier said there was no "evidence" that his employees stole it. He basically blamed my sister-in-law who was the only other person with access because she came in and out of the room a few times. He further stated that it couldn't have been an employee because the employees who had access to the room at the time were all questioned and none of them admitted to it. The staff also disposed of the gifts that we bought for our guests instead of bringing them down to our room like they were supposed to. I was partially compensated for that. All in all, I would not suggest this place to anybody and I would never stay there again. When I initially contacted Glenn Spanier (General Manager) about my situation, he really didn't seem to care about my stay or my disappointment with the hotel and told me nothing more would be done. It's only because I called him that I was given a partial reimbursement for my gifts that were thrown away. After spending nearly $15,000 there I would think that his concern would be to make us happy regarding the theft of our wedding gift cards, but he really could care less. The hotel finish work is very crappy. Fixtures are crooked, paint is old, parking lot looks dirty, and there were a lot of corners cut when they remodeled. Parking is expensive and guests shouldn't be charged to self park. At least the food was good.
I got married at the Hyatt Pier 66 in April and it was a great experience! We were very happy with the food and the entire venue. Everyone at the wedding loved the filet. Cocktail hour food was awesome as well. If you do choose to have your wedding here, definitely try and do it on the pier top; the views are amazing! We had the ceremony and reception up there. We only had the room spin 1x because it really does make your guests confused on where they are sitting. Overall, we were very pleased with having our wedding at the Hyatt :)
We had everything on property. Our Rehearsal dinner was out at the Orchids pool Bar (casual), on Friday, and our ceremony was inside on Windows on the Green. The cocktail hour was outside on the patio, & reception was up in the Pier Top. We were sold on this venue, ALL because of Michael Berry. He was the best coordinator - he attended to everything we needed, and gave us more than we could expect. I was happy with every little detail, as nothing went wrong here. Our out of town guests were able to have their rooms in the block, and everything was super easy, not having them get rental cars. Everything was perfect.
We just got married in February of 2013 at Pier 66's Panorama Room! The wedding was a complete success and it couldn't have been any better! Lauren Ghicac coordinated my wedding and we LOVED her! She is professional, caring, diligent, and attentive to every need. Every detail was how we imagined it and we couldn't have done it without her!!! Food was yummy, service was exceptional, and the venue speaks for itself! We will never forget the BEST night of our lives and we are thankful we chose Pier 66.
We were treated very well and the food was amazing. All my guests agreed.
I'm a bride who changed venues mid-planning for quality reasons. Unhappy with the service I was given at the other venue, I sought a new place to have the wedding. I was greeted by Keith Willard of the Hyatt and experienced a complete 180 in terms of quality service. The staff at the Hyatt helped me throughout the planning process and answered all of my questions. Keith ended up leaving the Hyatt, but Jennifer took over my event and the transition was seamless. The food was excellent and the service was great.
When it came to my wedding day, I thought I was as prepared as I could be. We had a whole weekend event here with people from out of town from all around the country. The hotel was very accomidating, but keith really put the chery on top! Everything that I thought I was prepared for, keith was prepared 10x more! He had everything that I could need that I would have never thought of! Our wedding was truly an experience to remember and having a great hotel and a fabulous day of planner really made it what it was! Thank you pier 66!!
We got married on the Panorama Terrace and had our reception in the Panorama Ballroom. The terrace is right next to the water where the yachts are docked and the area made for WONDERFUL picture opportunities. The ballroom is unique in that a whole wall is windows looking out at the water. We picked this venue because of the ability to have an outside ceremony, but not have a "typical" ballroom feel to the reception. The staff was amazing and handled everything the day of so nobody in the family, or me, had to worry about anything. The food was phenomenal with a lot of options for everyone. If you use this venue, I would recommend looking at their recommended vendors. The florist they use only works with this hotel and he was amazing, we also used the DJ and baker they recommended. They have a great relationship with many different vendors and almost any vendor you talk to will tell you that they have done a wedding here. Near many different "attractions" of South Florida that your guests can easily get to if they stay at the hotel. GREAT PICK for a venue!!!
This place was everything I could have asked for and more. My coordinator Keith was absolutely amazing and made my day so special. Him along with his team did a great job and the food, service and place exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. You will not be disappointed!!
I had a wonderful experience working with the Hyatt Pier 66. I had lots of ideas and didn't have a wedding planner. The event coordinator at the Hyatt did an amazing job of helping me plan the event and making sure it went flawlessly the day of. I held my event at the Pier Top ballroom, which was absolutely gorgeous. The room was well decorated with all of my details properly placed. Also, the food was delicious. I even got comments from my guests about how good the food was and how nice the wine served was.
they were very accomodating and we ran into a problem a week before the wedding when our catering manager left the hotel and they were not very empathetic or responsive for a couple of days but they pulled it back together and listened to what we wanted and made it happen.
Growing up in South Florida, I've seen the beach about million times in my life. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach but I didn't want a typical "Florida Beach" wedding. I wanted something different. The second I walked into the Hyatt I knew I loved it. The lobby is sleek and modern yet comfortable. I loved the pool area and the grounds. The moment the elevators opened to the Pier Top, I was sold. What a spectacular view. There is nothing like it in the Palm Beach/Broward County area. You get the city view and the ocean, best of both worlds. Keith, the catering manager, was fantasic. I was always at ease when working with him. The food was excellent and service was great. I did have one bartender who was not up to par with the rest of the service staff but I didn't let it ruin my night. Overall it was an amazing evening. Our friends and family are still talking about it. The view and ambiance is unmatched!
My husband and I absolutely loved the Hyatt Pier 66 and the Pier Top Ballroom. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the hotel this past January and everything was wonderful. We worked with the Director of Catering Keith Willard and he is extremely detail-oriented and knows the venue inside and out. He was a great resource for creating the wedding day timeline and how the reception and ceremony locations would be set up.
I planned my entire wedding from Los Angeles so I was fully expecting to have a bridal meltdown at some point but Keith and his staff took care of everything and my stress level for the entire wedding weekend was super low. My wedding day was fantastic and everything went smoothly. My husband and I had our ceremony outdoors on the Royal Palm Lawn, then the cocktail hour and reception up at the Pier Top. It was stunning! There really is nothing like the Pier Top anywhere else in South Florida and it was perfect for our wedding since we had about 75 guests all of who loved the 360 degree views and rotating ballroom.
Keith and his team were on top of everything and it was each event was set up exactly as I wanted it. The food was amazing and the servers were great also. My only criticism is that the servers were a little too quick with clearing tables of unattended drinks and plates. Guests would come back from the dance floor to find their drinks or plates gone. If we would have known that, we would have requested that they waited until the cake was about to be cut before taking plates, etc away. Overall though, the entire staff was polite and very professional.
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as well since it was just so much easier and 1 of the nights was complimentary. We had a beautiful junior suite in the tower with a view of the pool area, the Intercoastal Waterway, Downtown Fort Lauderdale and the Ocean. It was really the perfect view. Very romantic, plus I could see the Royal Palm Lawn from the balcony so I got to see them setting up for the ceremony. We also had our brunch the day after the wedding at the hotel in the Windows on the Green which was really nice since most of our out of town guests were also staying at the hotel. Great venue and catering director along with beautiful surroundings really made Pier 66 the perfect place for our wedding. My husband and I couldn’t have been happier and we’re actually planning to stay at Pier 66 again for future anniversaries when we’re in Fort Lauderdale.
Incredible views from the Pier Top, which was where our reception was located. Service was impeccable, our catering manager was amazing, food was yummy and guests ooh'd and ahh'd all night at the 360 degree view of Ft. Lauderdale and the beaches. Caution to brides: Our ceremony was held in the Windows on the Green, which is a somewhat open area below the main floor lobby, it was loud and I could hear hotel patrons from the lobby bar during our vows..people can also look over the wall and watch your ceremony, so it's certainly not intimate. Other than that- it was absolutley INCREDIBLE!
Hands down, best wedding venue I could have ever imagined. If you are looking for the "WOW' effect from your friends and family, we would definately recommend the Hyatt Pier 66. Not only do you have a phenomenal 360 degree view of Fort Lauderdale 17 stories up but the outer floor rotats slowly once you start dancing. I was so awesome. I had guests weeks after the wedding call us up telling how amazing everything was at the Pier. Food was absilutely spectacular too. We had the Skirt steak (awesome) and chicken dinner which also met and exceeded expectaions. Wait staff made you feel like you were at a 5 star restaurant!
Laura Prather was our wedding coordinator and she made the wedding come together. We were originally skeptical about how old the hotel was and the hint of "older" hotel feel you get from some of the rooms but wasn't even noticable and everyone enjoyed themselves. Highly recommended all around!
Everything turned out perfect. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious and Keith was a dream to work with. We are so happy!
The experience of having our wedding here was awesome! I cant say enough about the Catering manager Keith Willard that helped coordinate my beautiful wedding! The service at the hotel was great, food delicious and view on the piertop was gorgeous! My guests complimented everything about our special day there
I can't thank you enough to Keith Willard for all his amazing work. He is a hard worker and made me feel better about the whole process. He is a fun professional who knows what he is talking about. THANK YOU SO MUCH - Marissa & Steve
The entire staff worked so hard to make our day and entire wedding weekend perfect!
I had my wedding in the pier top @ Hyatt Pier 66 and I couldn't have chosen a better venue. At first, I didn't even consider it, having grown up in Fort Lauderdale and thought of it as an older hotel. Upon visiting, I found out it had been almost completely renovated after one of the big hurricanes. The guest rooms are a bit dated but you'd only notice if you're accustomed to staying at 4+ star hotels. Otherwise, it's amazing! I did my research before booking and found some negative reviews that said they were bad at communicating in a timely manner leading up to the wedding. I kind of agree with that but I realized why after. The week of my wedding (I checked into the hotel on Monday) they were SUPER attentive and so helpful in everything & anything I wanted. They may not have responded to my emails within minutes but let me tell you they addressed ANY issue I had once there, no matter how small. I was originally working with Laura but she left on maternity leave so I ended up with Jerry. Im sure Laura would have been great but I am so happy Jerry was the one in charge of everything!! I feel like he was personally invested in my wedding & the outcome. I got nervous a month before the wedding because when we came for the tasting, they had the wrong menu (not the one I had painstakingly customized) but once the food arrived, it was everything I asked for! That was about the only hiccup. I can't really rate the food the night of because I was so busy mingling that I didn't really get to enjoy any of if but all of our friends said they loved it!! Out of what I did try, this is what I'd recommend... at the cocktail hour we had tomato soup shooters with bite-size grilled cheeses that were delish. Everyone loved the truffle lobster mac & cheese. For the entree, I heard some mediocre reviews of the chilean seabass but rave reviews for the filet. At the end of the day, Jerry & the Hyatt made me feel so special, exactly how I wanted to feel on my wedding day. The piertop views are amazing & blew everyone away. If you are able to, definitely check this place out. Ive been to very fancy wedding thats were double or even triple the cost of mine but (in my opinion) non even came close aesthetically. Good luck and hope this helps!!! Oh and lastly, we also got the tarpon suite for the after party & made such a mess but they didn't complain or charge us for any damage which I was honestly shocked about.
Our wedding was everything we wanted it to be. The location was BEAUTIFUL and the staff was sooooo helpful from the very beginning!
The Pier Top is an amazing location and needs very little if any decoration...the room itself is it's own decoration. The only drawback from the experience was the Catering Dept...they didn't explain a lot of things and then brought up new charges days before the wedding. I recommend the location wholeheartedly, but be prepared to stay on them and get EVERYTHING in writing.
We opted for a cocktail reception and all of our guests said the food was amazing (we neglected to eat).
Keith Keith Keith- Keith Willard is the most amazing catering manager you will ever meet. He is so much more than that title-you have a wedding planner as well. The Pier 66 alone is a 1 of a kind venue. My daughter's dream was to be married there, but I never thought it would become a reality because of cost. When we were scouting out the venue peeking in the ballroom a voice behind us said "Can I help you?" It was Keith and he was so full of energy and joy that he immediately took us around and showed us the venue. My daughter was in love with the venue and the planner-but money conscious mom had to compare others. There are none that compare to the Pier 66 - Dazzling, unparalleled, extraordinary that exceed your expectations! The increase in budget was difficult, but the main deciding factor was Keith Willard. I knew from the moment we met him that the entire experience of planning would be fantastic. Keith always was there for you. He works tirelessly and makes you feel like you are the only client he has. He makes it all about the bride and is so customer focused on that. He was there every step of the way and made my nervous daughter calm and confident - and he also kept me focused onthe important things - to enjoy the day. The comments I have received from guests from the wedding are amazing-and many said it was the best wedding the ever attended….and I agree!
I chose the Hyatt Pier 66 because I wanted something different. We didn't want the standard 4 wall wedding reception venue. When we saw the Pier 66, we thought it was perfect! Floor to ceiling windows, 360 degree views of Ft. Lauderdale and the ocean, and the floor actually revolves the entire time (slowly... one full rotation every 66 minutes). The food was fantastic, and the wedding planner Keith was the best- we couldn't have done it without him! All of our guests LOVED the venue- we couldn't have chosen a better place to have our reception!
The Hyatt Regency Pier 66 and its entire staff really helped us accomplish our vision for our wedding and to create a spectacular experience for all of our guests and us!
We planned our destination wedding in a span of 4 months (we live in Washington DC), so when we started to look at hotels we were a bit limited on options, especially since we wanted to do it on the 4th of July holiday.
Based on a previous stay at the hotel, the Pier Top at the Hyatt was our first option, but was unavailable for an evening reception at the time that we started to plan our wedding.
It was our sales manager at the hotel, and eventual wedding coordinator, that suggested that we could buy out the Pier Top brunch for our reception and plan to have the beach ceremony in the morning. Since I hadn't considered a daytime reception, I did not initially like the idea; however as we moved forward with the planning and realized that we would have to do the ceremony in the morning, regardless of any other plans (to beat the July afternoon heat and 4th of July crowds), it turned out to be our ideal venue and time.
We made an entire weekend out of the wedding and had activities on the property beginning 2 days before the wedding. The pool and hot tub area was an ideal setting for our welcome reception (which my family hosted and catered); the hotel put up big screen TVs in the lobby lounge which provided a perfect opportunity for our World Cup viewing events; and the hotel even allowed us to use one of the meeting rooms for a Zumba class (taught by my little sister) free of charge.
The planning process with the hotel was mostly smooth, with the exception of a couple of instances of miscommunication and long lag time to respond to e-mails, but by in large we were happy with the service we received on the front end. The hotel was fair in resolving issues we had and being flexible to assist us with executing our dream wedding.
Our hotel wedding coordinator understood our overall goal for the wedding weekend and was creative at offering us suggestions on ideas to incorporate. She was also helpful in coordinating the day of activities and vendor management.
The front desk staff was exceptional throughout the entire planning process and the wedding weekend! They were very helpful to both me and my husband and were responsive at addressing issues that came up with our guests' rooms.
The Pier Top itself proved to be an ideal location to host the reception. The food was excellent (or so I heard!), the bar tender was generous and made great mojitos, and the view was amazing. Even when the weather did not cooperate- an electrical storm rolled in during the afternoon and created zero outdoor visibility for a short time- our guests still enjoyed the rare point of view, and loved the party.
Many of our guests made use of the water taxi, the restaurants on the pier and property, and the spa, and remarked that they really enjoyed the resort.
We are happy to say that we received nothing but positive feedback from our guests (many of whom said it was the best wedding they had ever attended!). We too were very happy and know that we selected the right venue for us. It helped us create the experience we wanted for our guests... a fun and memorable mini-vacation, and was truly a dream wedding weekend for us as well.
We got married at Pier 66, and had the most incredible wedding. Not only was the venue gorgeous, but the food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We stayed there two nights, along with most of our family and friends, and made an entire weekend out of it. We had the rehearsal dinner as well as the morning-after brunch at the resort, and was more than satisfied with every single detail.
My reception location was amazing. I could not ask for more.It was by the water and the ceremony was also located in the garden of the hotel. The people in charge where profesional and made the our day a dream!
