About this vendor
Based in Spring Hill, TN, Pig N Pit is a specialized catering company and tap truck that services weddings and private events. The team’s main focus is creating moments to remember, making them an ideal fit for couples that dare to be different. Treat your guests to their succulent selection of barbeque or comfort foods.
Chris and Sherry came together as a couple over a love of classic Southern cuisine. In Chris’s case, he turned his passion for smoking meats and barbeque into a fruitful career, developing his unique style as he studied other professionals. Sherry’s origins were more homegrown, as she witnessed her family members come together to relish the delicious food they had created around the table. The memories that were created there are among Sherry’s most treasured. This marriage of craftsmanship and camaraderie led them to establish Pig N Pit in 2014.
Now fully functional, this catering service is ready to roll up to your celebration. You can collaborate with Chris and Sherry on a custom menu for your event. This personalized feast may include their standard barbeque dishes or elevated creations including bourbon-glazed salmon or bacon-wrapped pork loin. A variety of sides, salads, soups, and dips are also available. The team also operates a Vintage 1947 Ford flatbed truck that has been converted into a rolling bar. Straight from this vehicle, you can enjoy beer on tap, as well as wine, champagne, and custom cocktails. Share a truly unforgettable meal with loved ones, delivered with a touch of Southern hospitality on your special day.

I wish I could give zero stars. Sherry was great work with initially until she stopped responding the week before the wedding. She was barely responsive and after so much pleading and texting she finally wrote back saying she was going through some mental health issues. I said I understood because what else could I do but asked for my deposit back. She said she could do Venmo or a check. We chose Venmo and never got anything back. She stopped responding and blocked me. We lost more than $1k with her. She never responded and we never got our money. Do not hire this vendor. We thankfully were able to get Jim and Nick’s to cater and everybody loved it. Save yourself the heartache and stress. Whether it was emotional issues or a scam I would not hire them.
DO NOT CONTACT THIS VENDOR. She took our deposit and dodged calls for weeks just to find out she is going out of business. I found this vendor through The Knot. I would give 0 stars if the site allowed for it. I see she used excuses with other customers in the past such as the same excuses she provided us which leads me to believe she has taken advantage of others customers. Such a shame six weeks before our wedding.
Our family and friends enjoyed the food and the friendly staff. The entire process was easy and approachable. The set up was very pretty and the food was just as it was for our tasting. Not a bad word to say about these folks!
My daughter and her new wife had a wonderful experience with Pig N Pit Grill. We are from out of state and wanted a very authentic Tennessee experience for our guests that didn't break the bank.... Sherry and staff delivered more than we could ask and the food was delicious... very satisfied!
Ours was a destination wedding. We had a budget in mind and Pig N Pit worked tirelessly to meet our goals. The experience was seamless and we didn't have a planner. Communication with the team was easy and we had a dedicated person just for our day. 100% happy with the service and the food was OMG amazing! They really delivered an incredible menu and I couldn't have asked for better homestyle cuisine. Our guests were happy... there was plenty of food for 2nds. I guarantee our guests walked away with full bellies:)
Having a small wedding, we really wanted an intimate experience for our guests. Sherry treated our family and friends so warmly. The staff took care of every detail, so we didn't have to worry about anything.
Awesome company... amazing food... 100% satisfied. Highly Recommend
We had Pig N Pit cater our son's rehearsal dinner. They sat up on time and the set up was lovely. The staff was friendly and out family enjoyed it.
I attended Nancy’s wedding on April 30th 2022 as a guest and the catering was the worst part. The servers were super unprofessional and very rude. They were very underdressed for a formal wedding which made her beautiful wedding look bad. When I went to the buffet line I was expecting to get both meats because it’s a buffet but they only gave me one. The entire time the whole catering crew frowned at everyone and just really put a damper on the day by their unprofessionalism. On top of all of that the least they could do is offer good quality food. However the chaser salad was sitting out with the croutons and dressing for hours so when we got it the croutons were really soggy it was just disgusting to look at. One server had a band aid half on and picked up the chicken with her hand with the bandaid half on because she couldn’t get it with utensil. Over all this service was horrible. If I could give them zero stars I would.
I will outline objectively the occurrences that took place at our wedding on April 30 with this catering company. I can't post pictures here, but you can find them on the wedding wire.
We had a buffet service with Pig n Pit with two types of meat, chicken and beef. We agreed, per our contract, to provide both meats to EACH guest, 6 oz each. At our wedding, servers required each guest to only choose one meat, either chicken or beef. Guests were turned away and only received half the portion that we paid for. That alone, is half the money we paid to Pig n Pit.
We agreed to 3 desserts, again per the contract, brownies, lemon margarita bars presented in a tiered platter as well as a fruit platter. On our dessert table, all that was found were the brownies, in trays, not in tiers. No lemon margarita bars, no fruit platter. Later it was mentioned that the fruit was presented with the appetizers due to "no space on dessert table." Lemon margarita bars never made it to the wedding. To keep count, that is half the entree portion gone and now one third of the dessert.
The following was agreed upon, in written conversations by the owner Sherry, but was not fulfilled. The wedding cakes were to be cut and plated in their entirety. Servers only cut one cake (the sheet cake) and refused to cut the tiered cake. This $600 cake was then thrown away at the end of the night because no one ate it due to it not being cut and served. The owner again agreed, in written conversations, to rinse off the rented china and box them up. The china plates were never rinsed, only a portion were boxed up, and some even left on the tables. The groom talked to the servers to rinse them, per the agreement, and they refused. One server, under her breath, but loudly enough to hear, "I ain't doing that." Our family, friends, and day of coordinator all stayed after the wedding for hours to rinse and box the plates.
Imagine being the bride and groom and going on Instagram to find that your videographer posted about the catering service at your wedding, warning people not to book them. We were told by many others about how rude they were They were dressed in unacceptable clothing, such as a crop top for one of the ladies and sweatpants for one of the guys. Those were just the two that delivered the plates to our table. On a side note, our plates had two meats which makes me think this was intentional, since we knew the contract and the guests obviously didn’t, but I will not assume. In the images below, you will see her excuse for servers not offering the two meats, “no space on the plate.”
After contacting Sherry, she was adamant on only refunding $500, which are for the lemon margarita bars being missing ($275) and the rest for the two servers. We wrote a letter outlining in all ways the contract was breached and gave Sherry 3 days to reply. She replied and said that her attorney will reach out by Monday. Nothing. 8 days later from initial contact, we contacted Sherry, she said she was busy. No answer from attorney. No money offered over $500.
On the day before the wedding, there was a post on Pig n Pit's Facebook asking for servers, anyone to work our wedding. Meaning, the “servers” at our wedding could have been anyone with no experience or professionalism, which was apparent.
In conclusion, if you book this caterer, you will not get what you paid for, your contract will be broken and money stolen from you, and you will get zero remorse from Pig n Pit for it.
Love, love, love working with this company and it's owners! Lots of communication and they worked alongside our planner to really make the day stress free. We got to enjoy every part of our day and spend time with guests rather than being concerned with the details! I highly recommend them... book them... you won't be sorry!
Sherry was amazing helping make sure we had everything covered. The food was set up nicely, was hot, and everyone seems to love it. We were provided a bartender as well who was great. and they are All so nice to work with! Highly recommend!
Great BBQ, reasonable prices, and easy to work with!
Sherry and Chris were great! Not only was the food delicious but they are just extremely lovely people. They helped us pick our menu items with a tasting and the cost of the staff needed for your event is included in the base price per person. That was a huge help in our budget. But honestly they're just really great people with really good food!
Sherry's team at Pig N Pit catered and served our wedding dinner - the food was delicious and we got many comments that night and over the following week about how great the bbq was. Her team provided plated dinner services for us, and it was so well organized, punctual, and stress free for us. We enjoyed working with Sherry through our wedding planning process, we cannot say enough great things about the experience overall!
We absolutely LOVED working with these guys! The owner is incredible, the staff is so so friendly, and the food is DELICIOUS. We will 100% be stopping by there on our next trip through Nashville, even just to say hi to the owner! :)
The food was amazing! Sherry even helped us pull off a gender reveal surprise for our guests inside our wedding cake! We are forever grateful!
Pig N Pit is amazing! From the very beginning, before we even hired them, they were super accommodating. We reached out to them during the COVID shut down and they went out of their way to make sure we could still try all the food options.
They helped us navigate food allergies and restrictions to create a perfect menu for our guests. They were very reasonable and honest throughout the process, informing us of all the options available without being pushy. They responded to our calls and emails promptly and were flexible with last minute changes.
Their presentation for the buffet line was so beautiful and it fit perfectly with our rustic wedding decor. Guests complimented us throughout the night on how great the food was and how kind the owners, Sherry and Chris, were. They packed up the extra food for us and even helped our guests by clearing their plates and bringing around extra sauces.
I would recommend Pig N Pit to everyone! You just can't beat the hospitality along with a reasonable price and top notch food!
