Great to work with leading up to the wedding, communicated well, staff very friendly. Day of went so smoothly!! We could not have asked for a better reception than what the Marriott provided.
I’m writing this review as more of a cautionary tale. I do want to be honest and fair, so I will say when we first signed a contract with the Marriott, we were so incredibly pleased with the venue. We booked the venue in June 2020 for our May 21, 2022 wedding. Because we were in the midst of statewide shutdowns due to the pandemic, the Marriott did not have a wedding coordinator on hand. So we worked with Christina from the sales department. Christina was phenomenal — very quick to respond over email and really worked with us to personalize the packages to us as best she could. We signed a contract in July 2020 with the Marriott, and then I didn’t hear from them for the months to follow. I didn’t find that weird because our wedding was pretty far off. Come March 2021, I had some questions for the venue from my florist, and I was disappointed to find out that I would now be working with a completely different person (not Christina). This person was nice but did not have the answers the my questions and told me their wedding coordinator would be back onsite in May 2021 and that she would reach out to me then. Come May I didn’t hear anything from the Marriott. Not to mention, the Marriott had still not reopened since March 2020, but I had been given no clarification as to when they would be opening. Now fast forward to August 2021 — we were about 10 months out from the wedding and I wanted to start working on some DIY decor. I emailed my new contact at the Marriott to see if I could schedule an in-person walk through of the venue since I hadn’t seen it since June 2020. My email was subsequently forwarded around to several people before a brand new contact (Brian) emailed me back to tell me that he was now the person I could contact with questions. The inconsistency of who I was talking to was starting to make me very nervous, so when Brian asked to set up a call I started to get nervous that something bad may be happening with the venue. However, when we did speak of the phone he reassured me that the venue was fine and that they’d be opening back up in September/October to the general public. The phone call had helped calm my nerves, as Brian had reassured me that he had worked on many weddings for the Marriott and I felt as though I was in good hands again. We planned on visiting the Marriott in September once it was closer to being reopened. However, on the Sunday evening before we were supposed to go visit the Marriott, Brian called me to let me know that they would now not be reopening until January. With January just being four months before our wedding, that made me incredibly anxious, especially because they had planned to open multiple times before and it continued to be pushed off, even as almost all other Pittsburgh hotels were reopening with modified safety precautions. I asked him if I should be concerned about the venue, and his exact words were “I don’t know.” My fiancée and I decided that that was way too much of a risk. Brian offered us a full refund, including our initial deposit. We later found out that the Marriott had never actually charged our card for the deposit (things were hectic at the time and it went unnoticed), so technically our contract was void anyways. While I appreciate the transparency Brian provided, I still believe they wouldn’t have been told us that the reopening had been pushed to January without our in person visit scheduled in September. Overall, incredibly disappointing. Please don’t book here.
I searched and consulted with several venues for my wedding and reception. I had a strict budget but wanted something nice. As soon as I contacted Fallon, she immediately put together a package for me that was beyond anything I could imagine. She left the venue before my wedding but the lady who took over, Ashley, was just as amazing with whom to work! She made sure everything fell into place! I have no complaints at all and would highly recommend PMCC to anyone! Every staff person I encountered was pleasant and helpful!
The venue itself was amazing, but Fallon, the coordinator, was the real fricken deal. We knew from the second we met her and saw the ballroom that we would be having our wedding there! She was so accommodating to every request or question we had. The Marriott itself was a beautiful hotel space. The overall staff was very professional and accommodating as well. All of our guests told us how beautiful the room was! I can not thank Fallon or the Marriott enough for making our special day so wonderful! If you are looking for a space in the city, this is 10000% worth it!! It’s not a typical hotel wedding! It’s so much more than that!!!
We had a wonderful experience using Marriott City Center and working with their special events coordinator, Fallon Deriggi-Schuck. Every staff member at the Marriott was extremely friendly and helpful - even before we had booked the event, which was comforting knowing our guests would be well taken care of. The event went extremely smoothly and we never had to worry about anything that night, if we had questions, someone was always readily available. Fallon was very helpful answering questions and making sure everything was organized prior to the event. It was nice to work with a venue package that included food, uplighting, linens, cake and other small details. We had a plated dinner and the food options were excellent - even when made at a large scale for the event. The package also included place cards and table numbers, which was a nice detail that we didn't have to worry about creating or printing. Fallon was great at making the package options flexible, to adjust for things that we didn't want and adding on for things that we did.
Everything about our wedding at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center was amazing. Fallon is a rockstar and will make your dreams come true. This venue is great for a magician city wedding reception! Everything you need is handled by Fallon and she is absolutely amazing to work with! Couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out!
We booked the Marriott for our Ceremony and Rehearsal dinner! It was an absolutely wonderful experience. Fallon was a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive to all of my questions and also very accommodating. The rehearsal dinner was wonderful! The day of the ceremony, we were able to get ready in the executive boardroom. It was a perfect space to get ready with the bridesmaids. The staff there was very friendly as well! The ceremony space was stunning, we were able to be married outside at Chatham Center. Our guests were so impressed with the elegance and beauty of this space, and so were we. Becky was our coordinator for the day of the wedding. She was also wonderful to work with. She was very friendly and responsive as well. I would recommended this space to anyone who asked. Thanks so much for making our day so perfect and special!

Words can't describe how much I appreciated and enjoyed working with the staff at the Marriott City Center to plan my reception. Fallon, our coordinator and go-to girl, was so supportive and quickly answered the many questions from both my parents and myself during the planning process. She was readily available to work with us to meet our needs. She also helped coordinate with the vendors included in the package by the Marriott, such as the florist and stationary. At the reception, every staff member was professional and polite. William was the head of the catering staff the night of the reception, and he was delightful and so helpful. In short, I really recommend this venue to anyone looking for a downtown Pittsburgh wedding venue. The Marriott crew is organized, professional, and values you as the customer, so personal details are never forgotten. Thanks again!
I had my wedding here in Oct. I'm so glad we had it at the Marriott. Fallon was the coordinator, she was great and made my life so much easier. Having someone to help with the planning and deal with the details really helped with all of the wedding stress. Every thing turned out perfect.
Working with TamMichele, William our catering captain and the entire Marriott staff for our wedding was an absolute dream. Their attention to detail and responsiveness made planning a wedding from out of town easier than we ever could have dreamed of. From the seamless vendor coordination, to designing a perfect flow for the gorgeous ballroom, to helping us book accommodations for our guests and a massive suite for getting ready and spending our wedding night, we truly could not have asked for a better venue. We felt like celebrity guests at the hotel all weekend long, and relive the wonderful day - and even the process of working with TamMichele - all the time. I would highly recommend the Marriott City Center to any future bride and groom. You won't be disappointed with this team at your side.
My husband and I enjoyed every aspect of our wedding reception at the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center! The staff was super friendly and easy to work with! The wedding coordinator, TamMichele was amazing to work with. She understands what you want by just giving her a few details! We were able to pick a package that included a lot of things we expected to have to pay separately for. For example, some flowers, linens, the cake, lighting. Everything came together perfectly! We are so happy we chose this venue and would highly recommend it to others!
TamMichele was amazing to work with. Any request we had she completed and she was available for questions the weekend of the wedding as well. The whole staff at the Marriott was extremely accommodating
Our wedding at The Marriott City Center was fantastic! TamMichele is absolutely amazing as a wedding planner. She did a great job of making my vision come to life!! From the front desk to the valets to the bar tender at Steele Head, every Marriott employee was so helpful.
We had a great experience with TamMichele, the event coordinator, and the entire staff at Marriott City Center. TamMichele is friendly, down-to-earth, super organized and seemed to genuinely care about our event (as did the entire hotel staff).
We loved every part of the all inclusive venue, with th exception of the florist, but that was through no fault of the Marriott. TamMichele answered all of our questions thoroughly, even if we asked the same questions more than once! She was patient, informative, and prompt about answering anything. Really, she made the planning fairly easy! The hotel staff was so friendly and incredibly helpful. I would recommend this venue to anyone who is looking for ease of planning, all-inclusive options, and a wonderful team to work with.
This was an amazing venue and a team! I loved that I picked a package/what I wanted and the rest was done. It was great having my cake, flowers, and linens included in my package. I didn't have to worry about coordinating or comparing vendors. Everything was taken care of!
TamMichele (the wedding coordinator) was awesome!! She was always available to answer any questions I had, and if felt like she gave me personalize attention. She was fun to work with and helped to execute the vision I had for my wedding.
The team at the Marriott were extremely polite and helpful. My guests all had a great experience and truly enjoyed themselves!
I would highly recommend the Marriott because of the service and experience I had.
I still cannot get over what a great job the Marriott did for my wedding. The Marriott City Center is not only in an amazing location, but the ballrooms are beautiful. Each ballroom has floor to ceiling windows on at least three of the four walls which let in the lights from the city once it gets dark. The Marriott also included waaay more than any other venue I looked at in it's cost. The Marriott provides: food, drink, table clothes, seat covers, table signs, name tents, flower arrangements, and the cake (I am sure I am forgetting things too)! The staff was soo friendly, fun, and attentive. They set my room up perfectly! I am thrilled I chose the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center for my wedding and I would highly recommend them to others!
My husband (fiance at the time) and I were stressed about finding the perfect venue for a large amount of guests and younger crowd. After we walked into the Pittsburgh Marriott City Center and were warmly greeted by Brian with a Pointsetta cocktail and a beer, we knew we had come to the perfect place.
After a tour, detailed description of their philosophy and the way they handle things, we didn't have to look or discuss venues much further.
Brian and Betsy were a pleasure to work with. Their philosophy was to make the day as stress free as possible. Planning, selecting food options, and working with their vendors was easy and fun. I recommend this venue to all couples. We loved it for the convience factor (hotel and ball room), the delicious food, the location, the hospitality, and the BANG we got for our buck.
They exceeded our expectations! We had a beautiful reception!
We had a phenomenal experience here. The current event planner stepped in only a couple of months until our daughter's wedding and really took great care to make this a perfect day for all concerned. The food was exceptionally good, the coordination flawless, and the quality of the staff superb.
This hotel builds a planner service into their cost. Unfortunately we worked with 2 who never actually helped us. Even the day of the wedding she was no where to be seen. Luckily my outside vendors and own decor made the wedding beautiful.
I can not say enough about the Marriott City Center!! Kristy the wedding planner and the entire staff made the planning process and especially our wedding day PERFECT! I have never experienced a better staff from the managers, valet, bellhops and servers they were amazing across the board!! The entire hotel was just recently renovated and it is absolutely beautiful!
The Marriott was amazing for my wedding. They had a wedding planner to help us plan every detail along the way and the reception was beautiful. We had many people stay at the hotel and they were all extremely satisfied. My mother had been a flight attendant for 25 years and has a lot of hotel experience, even with other Marriotts. City Center is by far one of the best hotels she has ever stayed at. Everyone from the valets to the housekeepers were kind, caring, and did their job well. We cannot think of a thing that needed to be improved. The day was perfect and everyone was well taken care of. Our wedding coordinator took great care of us in every way. At one point she even tracked down my dad to get my medication and lip gloss from him. She went above and beyond in many ways and we are grateful. I would highly recommend everything and everyone.
The wedding coordinators were wonderful and extremely helpful. They answered all my questions and were there for me on my wedding day. Anything I needed they were there to help! The food was incredible. All the guest raved about it. I am so happy I chose this as my venue!
