Planet DJ Productions

We used Planet DJ for sound at our ceremony sites, dj, party motivator, some lighting, photobooth, dhol player and dj van during our traditional hindu baraat, so we used them for A LOT. They were always responsive and easy to communicate with during the planning process. The services provided the day of were stellar and our guests had an amazing time. We wanted to focus on a combination of hindi, farsi and American music and they delivered. Our guests from each different culture never stopped dancing which is a testament to how good the dj and motivator were. I would highly recommend them, especially for a fusion wedding.

After reading all their great reviews, we were excited to hire Planet DJ to do the lighting and music for our wedding. We had good conversations with Ateet before signing the contract, and were really impressed with the online tool he and his team have for making it easy for clients to select music and plan the order and music for special moments like first dances, cake cutting, etc. In reality, we ended up being quite disappointed with the service they provided. On the positive side, the lighting looked good, the sound was fine for the ceremony and the cocktail hour, and the guests had an enjoyable time on the dance floor during the reception. But there were many disappointments, starting with a last-minute change of personnel. We had understood from all of our previous in–person and written communication with Ateet that he would be the DJ for our event. A few days before the wedding Ateet became sick and was medically barred from working the weekend of our wedding. We were very understanding of this medical emergency. However, he informed us of this change by saying that another DJ would still be our “Senior and main DJ”. We’d never spoken about this DJ and he had never been mentioned before as key personnel for our event. We trusted that he would be appropriately briefed by Ateet and would use the detailed program we’d provided in their online system to give us the event we wanted. That’s not what happened. Unfortunately, the new (to us) DJ was simply unprepared for the event and did not deliver what we asked for. He showed late, causing delays in the set up and start time of our ceremony. While he did play the correct songs for our entrance and first dances, he failed to play the other specially requested songs specified in our program, including a dedication to the bride’s parents. He played the right cake cutting music, but at the wrong time so that it disrupted the order of events we’d previously established with Ateet. From our other vendors and bridal party, we heard additional complaints about the DJ team, including that they were curt to other professionals, that they parked in a location that blocked guests’ only access to the ceremony, and that they were not well organized (e.g., remembering to ask for the names of the bridal party only immediately before our entrance to the reception). While all of these day-of missteps were upsetting, we were even more disappointed by the response we received from Planet DJ when we voiced our dissatisfaction after the event. We provided, in writing, a detailed summary of where the service provided did not match with our agreement, with the expectation that these complaints would be handled professionally. Ateet offered to have an in-person discussion and said that he had written us an email response but that he preferred not to send it. In response to our request to see this email prior to having a face-to-face discussion, he did send it. In this, we saw that the he blamed other vendors, and told us that we were wrong about which songs had and had not been played. In the months since we responded to that email, again expressing our profound disappointment, we have had no response from Planet DJ. We had a really wonderful wedding day in spite of the mistakes the DJ team made, but we feel very strongly that Planet DJ Productions did not uphold its end of the contract, did not deliver the event we paid for, and did not address our dissatisfaction professionally.

Ateet Ahuja and his group at Planet DJ Productions, LLC did an outstanding job at my daughter's wedding on March 15th (Sangeet and Mehndi night) and March 16, 2013. Venue was wedding at Key Bridge Marriott and Reception at Sequoia, Georgetown. Feedback from our guests was extremely positive and with Ateet's help, we created a "WOW" effect for our daughter's wedding. Planet DJ Productions provided Musician, DJ, Lighting and Decor services.

For our wedding, Planet DJ Productions provided a DJ, up-lighting décor and musicians. They were fabulous! Very easy to work with, and they are very organized and prepared. They set up a site for you where you can choose the songs you want to be played, not only on the dance floor but also for cocktail hour, during dinner, etc. You can also include information regarding the timeline of everything so it all goes seamlessly. All of our guests said they had a blast at our wedding, everyone was dancing and really enjoyed all of the entertainment. I highly recommend Planet DJ Productions!

Thanks for the most amazing weekend of our lives! Planet DJ Productions is the most professional vendor we had at our wedding. While we only hired them to provide music/MC services for the weekend, they provided their expert opinion during the weekend on other aspects of our event. If they saw something out of the ordinary they let us know and that went a long way in making the event run smoothly. The music/MC skills are A+. All of our guests had a great and memorable time and we had a blast. While we did not select any music with them, they completely understood our style and knocked it out of the park. Planet DJ Productions rocked our 2-day wedding! Ateet and his crew were amazing! From the beginning, Ateet asked the right questions; checked out our venue so we could have an informative discussion; gave great lighting suggestions; worked w/in our budget; never pushed us in any one direction but gave us good advice; responded to questions promptly; have a great database/intake form; and really got to know what we wanted. He and his crew were so friendly (interacted w/ the kids amazingly well); dressed professionally..and just rocked!! One month later, our guests are still talking about the DJ and music!

There should really be 10 stars for this team! Planet DJ Productions was by far our favorite vendor to work with during our wedding planning process. Ateet and Jordan were very responsive to our needs, provided great advice when needed, and guaranteed a day we would never forget. They could not have kept their promise any better. The lighting was so beautiful in our reception building and they kept everyone (I mean EVERYONE!) on the dance floor all night long. Planet DJ definitely exceeded our expectations for our wedding! We had an interfaith wedding with a baraat, Hindu ceremony, Christian ceremony, and reception, so it was a long day with a lot of details and different music. But Planet DJ did an amazing job and pulled it all off! Ateet was the consummate professional and very responsive throughout the planning process. The dhol player was great, too. Ateet from planet DJ productions simply did an amazing job. From the beginning of planning the event timeline till the end he was just very professional and polite. He was very responsive to our emails which is so important when you are planning your own wedding as it can get pretty stressful. This is one vendor that made it all easier as he went the extra mile to convert audio files, prepare the timeline ensuring nothing was going to be missed. He really cares about making sure that the couple has a great time as this is their special day. His music and lighting were fantastic. He is very detailed on what the couple wants and ensures nothing is missed. I have already referred 2 couples that are getting married this fall 2012. Also, one very important thing- he worked very well with other vendors such as the whitehall manor location which is key in ensuring a smooth wedding planning as not all vendors will approve- but Ateet is very well known in his industry and he did an absolutely perfect job. If you are looking for a DJ who knows exactly how to get and keep people on the dance floor then look no further because Planet DJ Productions was absolutely INCREDIBLE. It was really important to me that my reception was really high energy and fun and I knew from the first 5 minutes of them starting that I didn't have ANYTHING to worry about. They made my reception feel like everyone was at a night club and they have an unbelievable read on the crowd! Most importantly, they were complete professionals, very organized, and very easy to work with. Also, their setup includes an LED facade which just totally enhances the dance atmosphere! I will be recommending Planet DJ to ALL of my friends!!

Our wedding reception went off without a hitch and turned into the non-stop party we were hoping for all thanks to DJ Ateet and DJ Jordan. DJ Ateet carefully made sure that our diverse music requests were reflected in the playlist and all our guests left the wedding wanting to keep dancing. Ateet and Jordan were able to seamlessly move between Arabic, Dabkeh (traditional Palestinian dance), Haitian Kompa, Latin, and contemporary R\'n\'B and Hip Hop music - no small feat. Ateet (of Planet DJ Productions) was fantastic! From Day 1, he was clear and thorough in the description of his services, and he guided us to an appropriate and "custom made" package based on our needs. He was also extremely patient in dealing with my father, who was footing the bill. And he was flexible in contract negotiation and negotiation of his own time: when I asked him to do both of our wedding events, he immediately cleared his schedule so that we would be his top priority. Ateet was always ready to meet with us to discuss and rediscuss anything: lighting, hours of music, first dance songs, etc. He also was very responsive by email before, during, and even after the wedding, and continues to be a resource in the post-production of our wedding video. We had a multi-day wedding, and Ateet was a pleasure to work with on both days. He accurately read and responded to the crowd, and kept people on the dance floor the whole night... we had to ask him to stay an extra hour because everyone was having so much fun and didn't want the party to end! And every song request (and even the last minute changes with the father daughter song) was honored without the blink of an eye... or a pause in the music! Ateet and Planet DJ Productions were an amazing team during our weekend wedding events. Hiring a DJ was probably one of the hardest parts of my wedding planning process. I knew how important hiring a good DJ meant for the quality of my reception, so I didn't want to take the task lightly. After asking around for recommendations, I hired Planet DJ Productions for my wedding reception on August 21, 2010. I have nothing but good things to say about the company. They were extremely responsive to my emails, always available for my numerous questions, and great to work with. They did a phenomenal job at my reception and kept the dance floor packed all night. Ateet was great to work with. We learned of Planet DJ Productions from a friend who used Ateet for his wedding. Their music catalog is extensive. If there was a song they did not have they will find it without a problem. They do a fabulous job of seamlessly incorporating many different styles of music into your reception. Planet DJ also provided the sound setup for our outdoor ceremony. Everything was setup nicely and worked well. We did not have a single incident of that annoying microphone feedback. Everything was great and we would definitely use them for future events.

The decision to hire your services for our reception was the smartest decision we could have made. I am so happy that I went with Planet DJ Productions! I wish there were more stars I could give them. I had used Ateet and his crew for a graduation party several years ago, where they did an amazing job. When time came for my wedding, they were the first group I called. Compared to other equivalent groups, their prices could not be touched! Ajit and Jordan ended up DJing my wedding and they did a wonderful job. They took the time to find out exactly what I wanted, and made sure they were prepared for the event. When the reception time came, they had everything setup and never missed a beat. We ended up getting their lighting package as well, and it was better than some clubs I’ve been to. Once the music started the dance floor never emptied. Ateet did a an extraordinary job with making our wedding day utterly amazing. He coordinated and provided the videography, photography, dj, lighting, and the entertainment. He really kept the party alive. Our family and friends were very impressed. Even months later, people are still telling us that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. I just want to genuinely tell you how much we appreciated your hard work through out the planning process and of course on the day of the wedding itself. You guys did a phenomenal job doing everything on time, with the music selections, and getting the crowd pumped up throughout the night. Oh and I really appreciated you doing our music mix at the last min and being so accomodating in cueing us when we needed you to. Ultimately, I think the stretching bit we did for those extra 30 sec created greater excitement and anticipation for the crowd!
