Location is beautiful, and that was primary reason for booking it. Food was good, especially the Filet Mignon, however they "ran out" and some guests had to accept other entrees instead. I found the staff accommodating, however dinner service was slow and spuratic. Communication from the owner and event planner was less than satisfactory. Neither showed up for the rehearsal, and I've been told the owner was in the building the night of the wedding, but we never saw him. The event planner had those nights off, and I guess they didn't feel the need to have her be present. I sent the owner an email to share my overall experience (both positive and negative) and never received a reply of any substance.
Our daughter and new son were married this past Columbus Day Weekend and it was their very good fortune to have chosen Point Breeze as their wedding reception venue. When it comes to wedding venues, Point Breeze is simply the best kept secret in Central Massachusetts- a gem overlooking gorgeous Webster Lake! Extremely reasonable/affordable and so picturesque! Owner AJ met with all of us several times and patiently answered questions and described each detail, assuring us that the day would be exactly what the bride and groom envisioned. AND IT WAS! In addition, every single staff member we met was readily available to assist us in every way necessary. The bride and groom wanted their reception to be movie -themed and with AJ’s encouragement and assistance, we were able to decorate with lights/backdrop/movie posters- exactly what the couple wanted!! And we were able to do all of this days in advance of the actual wedding date- so perfect!! I am not sure that this can be guaranteed, as there are many events happening at PB, but we felt very lucky in this regard! The reception took place in The Pinnacle Room, with beautiful views of the lake and easy access to the deck outside, which the guests really enjoyed! And as an added bonus, the couple was treated to a short lived but absolutely spectacular sunset illuminating the lake just as they were getting pictures done outside! Again-JUST SO LUCKY! We, along with our guests, loved the intimacy of the event along with the plentiful food and appetizers! And here’s a wonderful little secret: After checking out food prices at other wedding venues, you will not BELIEVE the pricing of the meals your guests will enjoy at Point Breeze! The room was very comfortable at all times and when dancing raised the temperature a bit, the room was immediately cooled for us. As we were leaving at the end of the incredible evening, we couldn’t help but notice the staff at the other end of the room, already cheerfully preparing the space for the next day’s wedding. As we returned the next morning to pick up speakers/sound system/decorations, we found EVERYTHING had been very neatly and carefully packed for our easy retrieval-so professional to the very end!! Our daughter and new son had the exact reception they envisioned and could additionally put the many thousands of dollars they saved into their European honeymoon and their future home fund! AS IT SHOULD BE! You will not find a more reasonably priced venue that, with a little work on your part, you can personalize and make uniquely all yours for your day! We sincerely thank A.J. and the entire staff! When he told us it was his honor to serve our family, we believed him! After enjoying the Point Breeze experience, we have a feeling there just may be another wedding or two booked by our family members there in the future!! WE CANNOT WAIT!!
DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE FOR YOUR WEDDING. My daughter's wedding was at this venue 5/5/18 and I was totally disappointed. The view is spectacular but it does not makeup for the lack of professionalism from the owner and staff. She was told (I was there) that the restaurant would be shut down for the day and that she could begin decorating for her wedding at 2 PM. They did not shut down and we had to share the venue, bar and wait staff with the general public even though we had 178 guests. Staff was apologizing to general public about slow service due to a wedding and just ignore the wedding - how about an apology to the bride and groom. They would not turn the AC on but they did turn the heat on even though it was 78 degrees. Do not believe a word that comes out of AJ or Gayle's mouth they lie. You do not say one thing at meeting and then on the day of the wedding change everything up. Oh and AJ was too busy cooking instead of out speaking with the bride and groom. The officiant took control at the rehearsal to the best of his ability and then fortunately we had a great DJ that took control at the wedding. DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE
DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE - My cousins wedding was yesterday and the service at Point Breeze was despicable. During her meetings pre wedding, she was told that she would have then entire venue for her wedding. That changed the day of - without ANY notification. There were people from the public sitting on the balcony and at the bar who were not guests of the wedding - they were told in meeting prior to the wedding that the venue would be private. They didn't put out the correct amount of seats for the wedding on the outdoor patio where the ceremony was and then placed blame on a family member who had nothing to do with the chair count. The service was not great - no one knew what was going on. The waitresses were apologizing to the people on the balcony because there was a wedding - really? No apology for the bride and groom allowing the public to be on the balcony. The weather was perfect no AC or Heat really needed - yet somehow the heat got turned on to 80- I read the thermostat. No one knew how to turn the heat off. The night of the rehearsal dinner they had ONE waiter who was serving the entire party - approximately 40 people. He was serving food alone. I asked to speak with the owner he hid in the kitchen and sent out a host to deliver his message. Toiletry baskets were made and placed in the bathroom in the bar section that was open to the public and not in the bathroom that was for the wedding. We took it upon ourselves to move the basket. Again, DO NOT BOOK your wedding here!!
I would have loved to give Point Breeze 5 Stars. The venue and the scenery is just breathe taking. The food is delicious and the wait staff was amazing. When we booked the wedding with Gail we were told that there would be no tables on the deck and that the restaurant would be shut down at 2:00. The woman handling my center pieces and flowers went down and was told the restaurant would be shut down at 1 as our wedding at 4:00pm. When my husband and the groomsmen arrived at the venue there were a ton of people seated on the deck and even more in the bar area. We were told it would not be shut down. Obviously this is not what we signed up for. We requested to speak with AJ and Gail but were told AJ would not come out if the kitchen and Gail was not there. I was unbelievably upset. I was going to have random strangers in all of my pictures. Not only that but my videographer has a drone and they were going to be in my video. BUT i didn’t have to worry about that because someone from the venue told my videographer that I did not want the drone during my ceremony so he didn’t do it because at that point I was not reachable. During the night my guest had to wait to be served at the bar because the bar was crowded. We had people watching us from outside the windows and had to share the bathroom with the other patrons. I put baskets in both the male and female bathrooms for my guests but the other patrons of the bar and restaurant were able to help themselves to everything I bought for my guests. They did not shut down the restaurant and not only myself but multiple people heard the staff telling the other patrons to excuse the wedding going on. This was infuriating. They should have been apologizing to me and my guests. The rehearsal was no better. We had absolutely no help with the rehearsal my officiant had to run the show and he did the best he could and we practiced the ceremony completely on our own. I asked if someone would be helping us and I was told no which was even worse when I was told we wouldn’t be walking in the way we hd practiced. We would have known what we should be doing if we had someone assisting us. I would never have booked Point Breeze if I had known that all of this was going to happen. Planning a wedding is stressful enough the added stress was overwhelming. I should not have had to deal with any of this on My wedding day. We had 178 guests and we were treated like it was an inconvenience. Oh and they also blasted the heat and when asked to shut it off because it was literally 100 degrees in the room we were told they would but did not until 10 more people requested it and then I was told that my guests requested the heat and I politely stated we have been requesting for the heat to be turned down. It was a 73 degree day no need for the heat to be on at all. I really wish this review was better because again the venue is gorgeous and the view is amazing and the food is good but unfortunately I did not have the customer service that we should have been provided for having a wedding of that size.
Overall we loved Point Breeze but it has its ups and downs. At first everything was great. Our first meeting with AJ was very reassuring. He gave us direction and promised us things will go smoothly. The thing is we went there probably 6 times to meet with Gail and AJ to pay/plan and we were forgotten about every time. They had no idea who were every time we went in. It wasnt until about a week before that they finally started remembering us. Then an incident happened the night before the wedding. We went there for rehearsal and last minute decorating. I wont go into detail but that night the staff was lazy and rude. The day of the wedding everything was amazing. They set up the room perfectly and everything went smoothly. The views of the lake and the inside are beautiful. Also, this is not a place to party. Better for white weddings. They will cut off shots at some point. Kind of a disappointment when celebrating, but oh well. We were happy overall but like I said it has its ups and downs.
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Point Breeze this past weekend and it was absolutely spectacular! The views of the lake are incredible and you can't buy a better sunset! The staff was great! Everyone raved about the food (especially the New York Sirloin!) We met with AJ, the owner, several times before our wedding and he was very helpful. I feel like Point Breeze is a hidden gem! All of our expectations were exceeded!
Aj was amazing! The was staff was phenomenal
Cathy the server extrodinaire is a dream! Coordinator and server all in one. They were so accomodating I can't say enough! Don't let the exterior as you drive up fool you. We had the "blue room" overlooking the lake. It was beautiful!
The food was good-average. The helpfulness, service and cost were wonderful.
Point Breeze puts on an amazing wedding for an affordable price! AJ and Staff did everything we asked of them AND THEN SOME! The decorations were perfect and exactly what we wanted, the food was incredible, and there was plenty of room to accommodate all our guests! Everyone at PB was very professional and friendly. We had our ceremony outside there as well and it was beautiful! Great weather for a May wedding. With the lake in the background and blue skies all around, my husband and I would consider it a perfect day. We chose a buffet style menu, and for over 200 guests it was super affordable. For cost on here i chose "prefer not to answer" b/c it really depends on the bride and groom and what you want to determine your cost...we could have spend way more and we could have spent way less...either way it really depends on you. The owner is very helpful, and worked really well with me through emails and at least 2-3 meet ups. We also had our rehearsal dinner there, we chose a smaller menu with at least 6 choices for everyone. The food was fabulous. There is so much more i could write about this place, but I'd like to keep it simple. Bottom line, it was by far everything that we could have hoped for. Perfect weather, atmosphere, food and people. Thank you Point Breeze for giving us a memory that will certainly last!!!!
I was looking for a unique and beautiful place to have my wedding reception that would be more affordable. Point Breez was the perfect price. The reception room had 2 solid walls of windows that looked out on to Webster Lake. The weather was beautiful and the location turned out to be perfect. The food was great, service was mostly prompt. They were easy to work with. All in all the perfect choice for me :)
I was able to have my own room with it's own bar; They will not meet with you until 10 days before the wedding which makes is stressful
