eremony to reception during the hour-long cocktail hour was so smooth and quick, we were even able to take some family photos during that time. The only downside to this venue is that during the months leading up to our event, Port393 expanded several of their services, which is great, but it made things confusing for us during the planning process. While I can appreciate them adding dishware services and increased decor services, it made things more expensive for us in some ways or more complicated as we had to work with our vendors to figure out who should supply what. Port did allow us to keep the contracts with our established vendors, which ended up being cheaper. Hopefully their added services don't make this venue too expensive for some.

We even drank the bar out of a specific beer and they went out and bought more, instead of saying “ sorry its out”. Danielle and the staff did all of our set up and clean up and packed everything up in car at the end of the night allowing our family and friends to truly enjoy our day. bly stressful and disappointing experience.
From the very beginning, the team was rigid, inflexible, and difficult to work with. They didn’t convey any sense that they understood how important this day was to us. Instead, it often felt like we were burdening them with our wedding. Every interaction seemed to drain the joy out of the planning process, and they were the only vendor that consistently made things harder, not easier.
Communication was frustrating; emails contained numerous misspellings and were confusing, which didn’t inspire confidence when we were trying to navigate their already dense and harsh contract language. I constantly felt like I was walking on eggshells, and was scared of violating some contract clause. The stress of having to scour the contract before every conversation was exhausting and took away from what should have been an exciting time.
One recurring and unprofessional theme was their repeated justification of inflexible policies or surprise costs by saying how much money they’ve invested in the venue without passing it on to clients. The reality is: we’re paying for a service, and that’s fine—we expect that. But to imply that they’re somehow doing clients a favor while also raising bar prices twice between contract signing and the wedding, increasing rental fees, and reducing event space time in exchange for Cove House usage (which they framed as “included”) was difficult to swallow.
It’s a shame, because the venue itself is lovely and our wedding day did turn out amazing. But if I could go back, I’d seriously reconsider whether the added stress and poor client experience was worth it. The planning process should be joyful, and unfortunately, this venue made that part much harder than it needed to be.

ator Tiffany. We worked with her for 6 months leading up to our wedding and on our wedding day she was always present, helpful, and made the day flow perfectly. She was very helpful for all aspects of wedding planning and her attention to detail is impeccable. If anything went wrong on our wedding day we simply didn’t know about it because she took care of it for us, from the set up to the tear down at the end of the evening. The venue offers many different packages and decor to choose from so you are able to customize everything to the way you would like it. The venue team is very accommodating and great for making recommendations for vendors as well. When we first saw our reception space set up on our wedding day our jaws dropped because of how perfect everything looked. The bartenders were phenomenal and many of our guests complimented how kind the staff was. The location was great, we had many guests from out of state stay for a long weekend in Holland. Our guests loved being able to visit the town and shop around and head over to the beach as well. The bridal /groom suite was the perfect place for us to get ready in and spend some quality time with our bridesmaids and groomsmen before the wedding began. There are also an abundant amount of photo opportunities at the venue itself. We highly recommend getting married at Port 393!

ator, Tiffany, was delightful to work with and truly made our special day one to remember. As a part of our package, we had monthly planning sessions, which we could attend virtually or in-person. The meeting agenda topics (e.g. day of timeline, vendors, etc.) were helpful and allowed us to efficiently work through planning details. Tiffany was solution oriented, organized, and clearly had strong rapport with a wide range of vendors in the area. For decor and table settings, we appreciated being able to rent a wide range of products (e.g. candles, lighting, linens, etc.) straight from the venue, which eased our planning. The team helped bring our decor dreams to life and I appreciated their ability to seamlessly execute our event. We felt totally at ease on our special day, in large part due to the trust we had with the team. Highly recommend!

location, vibe, and cost. We went with the VIP+ package which included a 6 month and day-of coordinator, and then some - it was SO worth it! Having Tiffany as our coordinator helped the planning process and made the day-of so smooth.
Something we loved about Port is their rental decor. I didn't want to be stuck with a bunch of wedding decor that I'll never use again. On top of that, the decor is gorgeous!!! It was such a dream being able to see my vision come to life with everything that Port offered. Having an on-site bar was a huge plus for us too so that we didn't have to find another vendor for that.

and all other fees) for the “vip package” they are so unhelpful. If you do not get the vip package, they do not do anything but the basic set up and the bar service. After our final review meeting, I noticed something was missed and I was told it would be an extra $50 just to reopen our account and add a rental they forgot to add in the first place. If you want both bars open all night you have to have 3 bar tenders on staff which costs $75 per hour per bartender, but halfway through our reception, they closed the upstairs bar without asking us or our point person and the 3rd bartender was nowhere to be found. When we asked about it they lied and said the bar was open it was just a “shift change.” But, this shift change included capping all the taps and taking down all the bar signage. Lastly, because our ceremony did not take as long as planned, they closed the bar 20 minutes early and would not budge, even when we offered to pay more to keep it open. I would NOT recommend this venue only because of the owners insane rules and inflexibility. The staff were very pleasant and the bartenders were top notch, but you could tell they were scared to do anything even slightly wrong.

It ended up being absolutely beautiful even though it wasn't what we originally planned I wouldn't have it any other way. Heather was AMAZING, from our conversations during the planning to the day of. She amazed us and blew any expectations we had right out of the water. She made everything so much less stressful, was realistic, and also such a positive, kind presence to have around all day. Every staff member we worked with was so kind, helpful, and excited to be there. We had the opportunity to work with a few different managers during our 2 year engagement but Molly and Christianna helped finalize all of our big day details. That alone could have been what kept us at Port 393 – but that was just the tip of the iceberg. The venue is beautiful and the ability to have something modern and customizable really sets it above the competition. Throughout the night, there were so many comments that the staff was incredible and I think that falls on the immaculate environment Candice has created.
Last but definitely not least, we need to have a special section for Molly, our event coordinator. From the beginning, she went out of our way to make our entire weekend unforgettable. Whether it was coordination between vendors, design ideas, timelines, pictures, rehearsal dinner plans, ceremony plans, the occasional dirt on the shirt during wedding pictures (thanks Molly!), she did it all. We both came out of the weekend counting our blessings that we had you with us during this entire process. We cannot begin to thank you enough.

ectations. We planned our whole wedding in 5 months and it was truly more than I could have ever dreamed. Not only is it a beautiful space, they handle EVERYTHING. Don’t want to worry about set up or tear down? No worries! Port’s got it. Would rather set up your own decorations? Port can handle that too. I’m not kidding when I say that their commitment to your day is their top priority. Despite the fact that they are communicating with and trying to please hundreds of couples at once, they make you feel like you’re the only wedding they care about. It’s truly amazing. We just tied the knot on 8/29/2020 and it was nothing short of the most amazing, magical, stress free day any bride could ask for. You are not just booking a venue at Port 393 you are booking an entire team dedicated to make your wedding day the best day of your life. Their mission statement holds true and they will go above and beyond for you!
We also had the lovely pandemic get in our way, and yet it was still amazing! So, if Port 393 can accommodate during a global pandemic, just think of the magic they can create when you don't have to stand six feet apart!!
