our big day with her! Every email or call I placed to her was answered immediately and she was always happy to assist with any questions I had, no matter how big or small the issue was! On our wedding day, Michelle was there and made sure everything started out the way I wanted it. After her, maitre'd Emily and our head table server Freddy, took over the show and not only guided us through everything, but made sure we always had food and drinks at our table! We also were allowed to view our party room before all of our guests did. They decorated everything EXACTLY how I wanted it! I didn't have to change a thing. Everyone at the Grand had professional attitudes and everything was SO organized. The food was EXCELLENT, nothing we ordered on our menu was a disappointment! We had 180 guests and the pricing was VERY reasonable compared to other local venues. At the end of the night, Emily and Freddy packaged all of our belongings (and extra food from dinner and cocktail hour!) and brought it up to our honeymoon suite to us. We had enough leftovers for 4 days after the wedding. Our guests raved about everything and they are still talking about our day. Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, thank you SO much for taking such great care of us on our wedding day!!! If you are looking for EXCELLENT service and to be treated right, this is the place to go!!!

got married down the street at the Grandview. Working with Keisha to book our room blocks was great. She was very helpful and easy to work with! The hotel is fine but honestly overpriced for what you get. However, that is not my complaint. I booked a the 10th floor club room as a dressing room to use the morning of my wedding to get ready and take pictures in. The room was ready when i needed it and it is a beautiful room with a lot of natural light, which was great. My issue is with the customer service. I paid about $400 to use this room just for a few hours. in addition to the room charge, there is an 18% service charge. When I was let into the room they brought some pitchers of water and some water glasses. But after this, service was nonexistent. We brought our own champagne and figured it would be easy enough for the hotel to bring up some champagne glasses. We called the front desk and requested the glasses. No one showed up. We then had to call the front desk THREE times over a period of about two hours to ask why no one came up with the glasses before finally going down to the desk to complain. Rather than being apologetic, i was told the staff was defensive. That being said, I was very disappointed with the service considering i spent so much and paid a service charge. Also, if you are considering renting this room you should know that you don't get your own key. Every time you want to get in you need to call the front desk and ask to be let in. If you plan to set up the room and leave for anything, like to have breakfast, this presents a problem unless there is someone else in the room.

We had plenty of guests making similar remarks though which has made our claim feel validated. Many guests specifically complimented the speed of service, the ballroom and decorations, as well as the food and quality of service. We booked the Regency Package, which gives you the larger ballroom (you need at least 100 guests but we were able to book it a few short of 100.) For the price you’re paying, you get an incredible ballroom and also the catering is included. We still can’t figure out why the cost is lower than other venues in the area that don’t offer catering. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that they’re able to host so many weddings on the same night? The amount you get for the price is amazing. - The food is incredible - The maître’ de and the head server make sure everything is going smoothly. You will always have a drink, a taste of any food you’d like, and will not have to keep track of the events and timing since they do it for you. - The ballroom itself was beautiful. The option to choose any color uplighting for no additional cost was a huge plus. - The process of preparing for the wedding was made simple. We worked with Gina, who was always available to answer our questions and gave us a detailed timeline of everything we would need to do far in advance so we were never feeling stressed. If you’re searching for a venue, we highly recommend setting up a meeting with the Poughkeepsie Grand to see if it’s a match for you.

am still trying find out my reception started and hour later than it was supposed to causing me to have to extend my reception an hour so I can do all the things planned and still have 30 mins of just dancing. we had to pay a good amount of money to extend the reception and they would only accept cash. also for other reasons I am unsure of they waiting to do the cake cutting until almost 10. this set back my bouquet and garter toss. since not only did the reception start an hour late, and my cake cutting was late I had to pay for my photo grapher to stay an extra hour to capture these moments. I'm very unhappy with the lack of organization and having to pay more money when not only did we spend a lot to have our wedding there but we helped give them a lot of business with a huge amount of hotel rooms being booked.

olute dream. The package we chose was well within our budget and it included literally everything you could imagine, and then some. Gina was extremely responsive to emails, especially in the 2 weeks leading up to the wedding where each day was a new inquiry (haha, but seriously). She made everything so easy! The day of our wedding we worked with our Maitre'd, Freddy, and the head table server, Enid. They were both fantastic and so attentive. Enid had our bridal suite stocked with appetizers when we got back after photos so that me and my girls could have a bite to eat while we freshened up before we headed into the cocktail hour. It was absolutely fantastic! No one was without a drink all night thanks to the fantastic table side drink service and the bartenders, of course! Oh and the food was AMAZING. We went with the salmon, rib eye steak (duh), chicken cordon blue, and veggie lasagna options and they were all fantastic. Enid brought us out some of each entree and we actually sat down and ate!! I think we are the only couple I know who ate dinner at their wedding. The salmon and steak were my favorites of the entrees! Anyway, if you go with the Poughkeepsie Grand hotel you will NOT be disappointed.

From initial contact to the day of she answered every question (no matter how repetitive or crazy) and addressed all our needs with top notch professionalism and courtesy. She was an absolute pleasure to work and plan with and has such a wonderfully warm and inviting personality. She made us feel like she was a member of the family and as concerned if not more concerned with how everything would come together. She gave us a full tour of the hotel and shared everything with us as if she were inviting us into her own home. She taught me how to follow our room block and kept us up to date on bookings the whole way. I also give her high praise for handling a very difficult (and quite frankly embarrassing) “situation” extraordinarily well that came up with the matron of honor! During all the wedding planning I knew I just needed people to help me keep my peace of mind and relieve some stress and Kisha definitely did that for me. I highly recommend her and The Poughkeepsie Grand for your next event :-)

ig day. The venue offers 3 great package options. We chose the "Royal" option which was a great package at a reasonable price. Everyone is still talking about how great the food was. Everyone enjoyed cocktail hour and main courses. People even really liked the 3 tiered platter of pastries that each table received at the end of the night. The wait staff was very attentive. Our bridal suite at the end of the night was beautiful! You really get what you pay for and more! I was very blessed to have a wedding that was enjoyable for all. I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

No one ever told me that. They give you 10 rooms in a room block, and when we told them we would need more, they said it would be no problem. Well, within the first few weeks of booking them (back in 5/2017 for a 9/2018 wedding), the Hotel was completely booked. I needed to get a second room block at a hotel down the road. The Grand is very beautiful so that worked perfectly! My biggest complaint was that the staff pulled my groom aside during the reception and asked for payment. Gina, my coordinator, was supposed to collect the money earlier in the day from us. She never once came into the room I was getting ready in to ask for the check. I was in that room from 10am - 5pm. The staff then told my mother to leave the wedding, go up to the room, and get the check. I told them no and she would bring the check down after the reception so she could enjoy the night and it was worked out. Overall everything went pretty smoothly, but if you are looking for personalized attention, it is kinda hard here since they do so many weddings in a weekend. My coordinator Gina was very nice and very quick to respond to my e-mails, which was very helpful!

We were provided with ample space in which to take care off all the prep - hair, make up, dressing, etc. The rooftop was beautifully decorated and was such a lovely setting for our ceremony. Our guests raved about the cocktail hour, both the setting, the food and the service. Our reception ballroom was so beautiful as well. Everyone ate, drank danced all afternoon. The vendor team assembled by the hotel is the best there is. The Pastry Garden created a cake for us that was as gorgeous as it as delicious. Lucille's Floral matched our colors with the bouquet and centerpiece blooms in such lovely designs. Our guests are still talking about what a great party our wedding was. It was an unforgettable day, thanks in large part to the folks at the Poughkeepsie Grand!

Our food was delicious , our wedding suite was incredible (brides, take advantage of the jacuzzi after a long night of dancing in a heavy wedding dress ... felt incredibly soothing !) and every detail was perfect. There were 2 other weddings going on that night , and you’d never even know it by the level of organization that goes on there. The best part is , you don’t have to travel anywhere after your day! They just walk you right upstairs to your gorgeous wedding suite. The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel made all of our wedding dreams come true !!

Our duo for the night was Cheo and Jenna and they went above and beyond!!!!! We LOVE them and everything they did for us that night! Jenna was always around if we needed something and Cheo was so professional and helpful. Everyone is still raving about the great time they had and how good the food was! Even people that are picky eaters were very satisfied. I wish we could do it again because we had the best time. The rooftop ceremony was perfect. It gets a little warm up there and the sun is a bit in the guests eyes at 5:30pm on a Saturday in June but it was a quick ceremony and everyone thought it was BEAUTIFUL!! We could not be happier with our day. Thank you to everyone at the Grand!!!

r ,Maureen . Our wedding coordinator was Gina . From the day we met Gina , till the day of our event , she was AMAZING ! No matter how many questions(and believe me there were hundreds ) , how many special requests or changes , Gina made it happen with a smile. We had our rehearsal and dinner the night before our wedding . Gina was there to orchestrate the rehearsal and set us up for dinner in the hotel lobby. The day of the wedding , our ceremony and reception sites were set up perfectly by Gina and her staff. We had an 11am ceremony and Gina and Ryan our Maitre D were there with us at 7am to give us access to every suite available to us for photos and pre-wedding assembly. We were married on the gorgeous 4th floor rooftop but had a bit of a scare. It was raining up until an hour before the ceremony...but Gina never panicked or told us we had to move the ceremony inside ...to the contrary as soon as the rain stopped they had the 4th floor setup quickly as if there had been no interference at all . Right before the reception started , Gina and Ryan walked us into the main ballroom to make sure we approved . We were also met by the GM Maureen who congratulated us !! Our party was amazing , Ryan made sure the food was hot the drinks were cold and the party flowed smoothly between the hotel and our DJ. Ryan , Gina and Maureen remained onsite the whole time , AMAZING !! Our head server , Stephanie was tireless all day and worked with a smile to get us everything we possibly needed !! The other wait staff received rave reviews from our guests. At the end of our event we partied in the lobby bar and the wait staff and bartenders were phenomenal. Front desk staff was always accommodating to us and our guests (special shoutout to TJ for being super accommodating !) At the very end of our event , Gina , Ryan and Stephanie escorted us to our honeymoon suite ....carrying all our gifts for us , extra wedding cake and tons of food for us to snack on !!! Our wedding turned out exactly the way we wanted it to . When I say nothing went wrong and we were in heaven all day , I MEAN IT !!! If you want a fantastic venue where you get it all , great staff , great food and service , onsite hotel and tons of little extras for your money this is the place. We looked at 7 venues and as soon as we walked into the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel they literally had us at hello .... we immediately fell in love with the ambiance and staff . It was spacious and very comfortable for the bridesmaids, moms, and stylists. The meals we ordered and had delivered to the Club Room on the morning of the wedding were delicious. Since our wedding was at the Grandview, it was an incredibly convenient location for our out-of-town guests. Transportation could not have been easier, and our guests raved about the trolley that took them to and from the Grandview. There was even transportation made available to our rehearsal dinner on the night before our wedding. Overall, our experience at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel was fantastic, and we would recommend this hotel to anyone getting married in the Poughkeepsie area!

But Gina and the staff were so amazing at making sure things went smoothly (a few days before our wedding Donald Trump announced he was holding a presidential rally next door to the hotel). You'd think that your day would be ruined- but with the professionalism and the confidence this team showed us (who knows it could've all been a front for me) but they made the day flawless. If I had to do it again, knowing there'd be a rally next door I would. Thank you all for making our day amazing and thank you Gina for making sure I was a happy bride.

The booking process was a challenge, since they only release rooms to you in blocks of 10 (and you need to self-monitor and ask to add additional increments). Regardless of those constraints, the team was professional and helpful (even putting a nail in the wall to hold up my long wedding dress since the closet wasn't high enough)! The rooms could definitely use some updating, but for the price, this was a great option!

I'm originally from the Hudson Valley and I was proud to have my wedding here. Michelle was our primary contact and we worked closely with her to set-up the wedding. She was wonderful and I can't speak highly enough as she was so accommodating throughout the process. We had the royal package which had so many food options it was hard to choose. I had been nervous about the food since the prices seemed too low compared to other venues, but it was really great. Overall I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for tremendous value and a way for your guest to enjoy themselves in an elegant setting. They really know how to throw a party.

Michele was there to walk us through the entire venue planning process. She was very responsive to all of our questions and was a joy to work with. The ballrooms are beautiful, up lighting and chandeliers looked spectacular in my wedding photos! My guests could not stop raving about the food, both the cocktail hour and dinner plates were beautifully put together and tasted amazing. The venue is a hotel so my guests did not have to travel after the wedding, everything you need is right onsite which was so convenient. The bridal suite on the first floor was PERFECT for hair and makeup with the bridal party. We had 15 or more people in there at one time, getting ready comfortably. We also were able to put the groom and his guys in another suite upstairs for them to get ready, which was newly renovated and had a gorgeous view overlooking the water and bridge! Overall the staff at The Poughkeepsie Grand were accommodating, friendly and professional. All of my interactions with the staff were pleasant, from the front desk to my head waitress at the wedding. Thank you to all of the staff members for helping my husband and I celebrate....you made our night!

We didnt even have to make our own plate they took us first to every station and made us our plates while we danced and spoke with family and friends, My younger nephews who have sever allergies and couldnt eat most of the food they were kind enough to go in the kicthen and make them completely separate meals to accommodate. They were just genuinely nice people. Michelle was our go to and she was jsut awesome, very organized helped with everything even last minuet changes i had that day!! The bridal suite was gorgeous! Me and my girls got ready in there and the guys got ready at the bridal party suite. Everyone has not stopped raving about our wedding, but especially because of how awesome this venue was! The price is great you get sooo much for what your paying and the food was delicious. (though I barely got to eat :( I was told by everyone how yummy it was!!) Their packages offer you so much! We went with a stations package which was buffet and let me tell you the amount of food we had was crazy! the desert was delicious they offer free breakfast in the am for the guests that stay at the hotel which was fun the next morning waking up and seeing everyone. They just really made my wedding amazing me and my husband keep saying that we wish we could go back and do it all over again! Our families have suggested us just going back up there and having a party and staying the night that is how much we loved this venue!

Only Con: The room rate code only worked half the time, so keep an eye on that! (If that happens, guests can call in and they always were great about updating the price for our guests so they didn't have to pay more). Overall, I would recommend!!

The room was set up beautifully, and the green uplighting added a perfect glow to our packed dance floor. At the end of the night, our attendants brought us and our gifts up to our beautiful honeymoon suite and made sure we had everything we needed. We ended our night at the Market Street Grill where our guests were able to continue the party. All of our family and friends could not stop talking about the great service, food, and comfort of the rooms the next day at the hot brunch. We could not have asked for a more perfect day. We stayed the night before the ceremony, and the sleeping accommodations, breakfast the wedding day, changing room, conference room for make-up, was AMAZING!!!!! My wedding day was perfect. The maître D and the hostess were on point with EVERYTHING. The ceremony, the cocktail hour, the reception, and the suite for the honeymoon were perfect. I could not have asked for a more suitable location, a perfect wedding, and a gracious staff. This was a very special moment for us. The wedding party and family really enjoyed how beautiful things turned out for the amount of money that was requested. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure that our day was really our day. The vendors were accommodated fully, the bar was stocked, and the food was the best food at a wedding that I ever tasted. We had a few couples that were/are getting married this year and wish they knew about this place prior to booking their location. I will recommend this location, not only for a wedding but for golden anniversaries, birthday parties, and even family reunions. I could not have found a better location for the price and all that came with it. Our wedding was by far a blessed and special day.
