PRIMO ALTERATIONS SAVED MY WEDDING!!! I went to another local alteration place thinking I only had minor needs for my dress. Long story short, a week before my wedding, the other alteration place left me with a horrible scar stitch the back of my beautiful illusion back and an ugly bustle hanging off the middle of my bottom. I needed to find a solution and needed to find one fast. I looked up all alterations in the area and am SO GLAD I found Primo Alterations! One week before the wedding, I went to them with the hope of fixing the holes and horrible scar stitch in the back of my dress. They had a few minutes before their next appointment and actually had me try the dress on! They let me know these holes cannot be fixed with stitches but instead need lace appliqué cover. They found a beautiful exact matching lace applique for my back. They also offered me cups for the dress, which the other location didn’t even offer, which made me feel much more comfortable. Primo Alterations also noticed that the hips were too tight. The other original place said they could not take the hips out since there was not enough fabric but Primo Alteration was able to take it out to fit me appropriately. They also noticed the ugly bustle and even called it out as ugly! They worked with me to determine a way to fix all these issues within my budget and did not even charge a rush fee. They had all of this done in time for pickup the day before my wedding. I went from leaving the original alteration place feeling disappointed and not even looking forward to my wedding to after working with Primo Alteration, feeling SO much more comfortable and beautiful in my dress like a bride should. Even though I know this was a crazy request with a one-week time frame, they went above and beyond my initial expectations and even said they felt sorry for what I was going through. I cannot recommend this place enough, trust me, just go here first for your wedding dress alteration needs and they will not disappoint. Thank you Primo Alterations!!
I was recommended Primo by a friend who had a good experience and I wish I could say the same about mine. I have a lot of alterations I want to do to my dress like adding straps, hemming train, overall fix the fitting, etc. I'm aware this is an expensive and timely process so I went in for my consultation 8 month before my wedding date. When I told Muna all the things I wanted done she responded "why didn't you buy a different dress." I was warned that she could be direct but I would say she past the point of direct and was belittling and out of line. Halfway through the consultation she said "I'm not even sure if I want to do it" but then continued to talk about what she could do. I can respect if it was more work than she was willing to take on, but her poor customer service was shocking. I'm disappointment because they have such great reviews but my experience did not match. I can not attest to the work she does, but after my experience I will not be returning to see.
Mona and her team are absolutely incredible! When I first came in 2 months ahead of my wedding, I had a lot of changes I wanted to make to my wedding dress – adding lace to the bottom, lowering the back, bringing the bust in. Mona listened to everything and was so accommodating, she took my dress and turned it into exactly what I envisioned. It was like a custom dress at the end, solely based on the Primos Alterations team’s professionalism. Even though the alterations were expensive, it was the absolute dream dress and I got so many compliments on it during the wedding!!! In addition, her team works so hard to accommodate every need - 3 days before the wedding, I went to pick the dress up and the bust was too big. Her team was able to fix it that day. I would recommend Mona for any custom needs!!!
Beyond thankful my friend reccommended Mona to me, i needed a lot of alterations and her and her team were fabulous! mt bridal gown looked great on the day of and my mom's did as well.
Mona was so amazing! She altered my dress perfectly and was so patient with me the whole time. It looked so perfect on my wedding day and she helped so much with tips and keeping me calm about the process of flying cross country with my dress!
Had my dress altered at Primo for my wedding, since I had lost 20 lbs since first buying it. With Muna and her employees, you couldn't even tell that my dress had been altered. It fit me like a glove and just blew me away.
The staff is so honest and courteous and really knows what they are doing. I can't recommend them enough!
Muna was great, you can tell she knows what she is doing! My dress was complicated with several layers of lace and silk and her team did a great job helping size it down in a way that didn't change the fundamental shape of the garment. It looked and felt wonderful on my wedding day and they really worked with me to stay within my schedule.
Muna and her team are my saving grace for my wedding day. They are TOP NOTCH. They're professional and experts in the art of altering wedding dresses and more. I got my wedding dress up in Los Angeles and mistakenly chose the boutique's tailor who lazily half altered it and sent me on my way. I knew something was wrong with the way it fit soon after, and on my way back to San Diego called Muna to see if she can fit me in last minute (2 weeks out from my wedding). She scheduled me that day last minute, took generous time critiquing, pinning, consulting, and ultimately fixing my dress. I was instantly relieved knowing it was with Muna because she can be trusted fully. As a result, my dress fit perfectly the day of because of their work. I was so happy! Muna and her team are DEDICATED to every single person who steps through their door because they deeply care about the person and are perfectionists in their work which results in them delivering beyond your expectations every single time. In a wedding industry where vendors are so quick to take advantage of you, Muna and her team treat you with patience and respect. They also communicate clearly with you every step of the way and educate you on what they're doing so you feel comfortable - which is so appreciated. There's no doubt about it, Muna and Primo Alternations is the place to go for all alterations, wedding and beyond. They are simply WONDERFUL!! :)
Only great things to say about Primo! Muna, along with everyone else there, was so easy to work with. She listened to me, made some helpful suggestions along the way, and in the end my dress looked even better than I thought it could.
My dress had 3 (maybe 4) layers of material, and must have been a total pain in the ass to alter, but they made it look easy, and did all of the alterations (plus added bedding to my veil by hand!) for a very reasonable price (judging by what I've heard from brides who went elsewhere).
I'm never going anywhere else for alterations from now on. Thanks to Muna and the rest of the Primo crew!
I went to this alterations shop based on the recommendation from the bridal salon I bought my dress at. When I first went in, I didn't know what to expect but I was getting excited since there were only 3.5 months until my wedding day. To my surprise, I was told to come back in a few weeks because it wouldn't take long. I was quoted a price and even though I had about 6 appointments and she basically reconstructed my entire dress, she stayed within budget. My dress was ready on time and we were given care instructions on how to transport the dress in order for it to keep it's shape. I thought I loved my dress before, but she made me LOVE this dress. I got nothing but the most endearing compliments on my dress and I can't help but to think it was because her creative eye. Thanks so much for making my day amazing!
I got my wedding dress altered here. I do love the way it looks in our wedding photos, but the experience was very frustrating.
My dress was covered in lace and had boning on the bodice, with several layers of fabric. I understand that it is hard to adjust so many layers to make a perfect fit, but I went in for my first fitting and they kind of pinched where they were going to take it in. I came back two weeks later and couldn't breathe it was so tight. They agreed to take it out a little and I returned in a week and a half. This time the waist and hip area was baggy it was so loose. I had two weeks until my wedding and at this point I didn't know if I should be dieting or trying to pack on a few pounds to fill out the dress. The finished product looked great, but we had to leave it unzipped and just loop the buttons so that I could breathe during the ceremony because it was still too tight, after I'd dropped a few pounds and sat through four different fittings.
To make things worse, she raised the price she originally quoted because she said she didn't realize how long it would take to alter all of the layers of fabric. I understand that it was a lot of work, but as a professional I would expect her to be able to count the layers when she gave me an original estimate. This was incredibly stressful the week before my wedding when our budget was already spent.
On top of that, my fiancé got his suit altered there and when he went to pick it up they had forgotten all about it although they did check and see that it was on their calendar to be picked up that day. Luckily he still had two days until the wedding so he was able to get it in time.
Overall, though the dress and suit looked good in the end, it was not worth the hassle and I would not recommend them.
These guys are so great! Excellent service and so accommodating -- brought my wedding dress here to get altered. Scheduling was down to the wire with only a few weeks left before the wedding and still needed to get my dress fitted. Mona and team were able to make it happen for me. The alterations were done expertly and I felt so beautiful in that dress. Would definitely recommend Primo.
