I had both ceremony and reception at the Prince Waikiki. I opted not to have my reception in the ballroom however, as I wanted a smaller party. So this review is more for the Muliwai Deck, where the ceremony was located.
It was a nice and breezy in February and thank goodness for no rain. The deck is semi covered on the mountain side of the 4th or 5th floor (it's been a few weeks so I don't remember). It may be a problem if there are heavy rains, but they are equipped to move the ceremony indoors, should that happen. Another thing is, there is a bit of distance from the elevators to the deck, so if there's a light drizzle, your guests will be fine under the cover of the deck, but make sure you have an umbrella handy when you're walking to and from the elevators. You don't want to mess up that hair & makeup you just paid hundreds for.
There was a turnaround of some kind with the banquet/event planning staff. The Catering & Conference Services Manager that I initially started emailing & met with was not the same point of contact that I was emailing leading up to the wedding and on the day of. Both were a pleasure to work with and had great customer service, but some brides might find that nerve wracking.
My one big negative is that they do not have a bridal room for the bride and party to get ready. If you want to get ready on site, you will have to book a room. I didn't find it too big a deal, but some might.

My husband and I just loved the atmosphere and the professionalism of the staff. It was reasonably priced and the food was amazing. Our guests could not raving to us about it. Kiele, the Banquet Event Captain and staff were incredible. We highly recommend this place.

The hotel was beautiful, perfect for our wedding! The food was delicious, hotel staff and service was great, everyone was friendly and very helpful! I would highly recommend. Rooms were also beautiful, loved everything about it. The hotel coordinator was professional and we created good relations with each other. Wish i could do it all again! They really helped a lot in making my dream wedding come true!

This venue is perfect for a beautiful wedding with spectacular views of Ala Moana harbor and the weekly Friday fireworks. The guest rooms and suites were so amazing and we enjoyed every moment spent here. From the moment we walked in to the lobby, the bellmen, valet, and front desk employees were showering us with smiles and aloha spirit. The 1 bedroom suite the ladies used to get ready in gave us a beautiful view of the harbor and was perfect for photos. The service of the event coordinator Cara Sawai was impeccable and helped lessen the stress of wedding planning. She was very responsive to emails and helped make the experience at the Prince one that I will never forget. Our head table server, Curtis Goya, was also incredible and very attentive. I would highly recommend the Prince Waikiki hotel for a special occasion venue!

We stayed here on our wedding night and golfed the next day. The course was a little rough but hey, we golfed in Hawaii! This beach was phenomenal, so much so we came back with 30 other guests the next day. If you are going to stay, make sure and get the breakfast. It's amazing and the view while you eat can't be beat.

I am beyond pleased with this place from the service to the food. Joann from the catering department helped us from the planning to the execution of our wedding. Everything went through without a hitch. We are very thankful for Joann and her staff because they were very professional and courteous throughout the whole process. She took care of every little detail and throughout the night made sure everything was executed as planned. We had our reception in the Mauna Kea ballroom which was beautiful and spacious. Lastly, the main reason why my husband and I chose this place for our venue is because of their food, SO DELICIOUS!! My guests could not stop raving about how delicious their food were. I highly recommend this place!

We planned a destination wedding. Joanne was our coordinator. She was honest, upfront and very helpful in giving suggestions, tips, and shared what other people did for their wedding. She was great on communication. the staff was wonderful and all our guests loved the view from the hotel. The food was amazing and received nothing but raves and compliments from our guests since the day of the wedding and even well after a month. I recommend anyone planning a wedding to please give them a look.

I enjoyed being in one of the hotel suites. It was a really good deal they gave us for the room, the room was large and had a nice bathroom, with oceanfront opening doors, but the catch is that the hotel is a little old, with some of the things in the room needing updates. Also there's different elevators for getting to different areas of the hotel since it faces the ocean on a downward slope, the oceafront suites are on their own so you have to walk a lot when trying to get back to the lobby, which was ok but when carrying your bags etc, getting to the different elevators is quite a challenge.

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and luxurious. The hotel staff are attentive and go the extra mile to ensure that we had a wonderful stay. Mahalo Kawika for the free room upgrade. We plan to return on our anniversaries to come.

The food is great for what you pay and they give a lot of freebies. I didn't give 5 stars because some of the special meals got mixed up when they were serving them...i had a served dinner.

We had a brunch reception for our wedding. The food was excellent, and at very reasonable prices for a Waikiki Hotel. The biggest hit was the flambe station - kudos to the chef! We also received a complimentary hotel stay and brunch buffet the next day. Catering manager Linda and the staff were very attentive and accommodating to all our needs. Thank you Hawaii Prince - Jennifer and Aaron

It was such a pleasure working with our coordinator, Joann. She really took care of us and accomodated us where she could. She was very patient with me and all of my questions. The banquet staff was also really great! I have several food allergies so they made sure that my plate didn't have anything that I would have a reaction to. They also packed up my dinner and dessert plates so that I could enjoy it after. The food was excellent and all of our guests raved about how good the food was and how much food there was. We even had our cake made from their bake shop, and while I didn't get a piece (other than from when we cut the cake), everyone said it was delicious.

From the first time we spoke to the sales manager to the catering manager, all of the details were planned out perfectly. The staff is incredible, they are professional, and we would choose this venue if we had to do it all over again. When we went to Hawaii to plan out the details, the presentation of the hotel rooms and ballroom was very nice! Again, everyone was very friendly and always returned phone calls/e-mails promptly. On the day of, I didn't have to do one thing. Everything was amazing- the service, decorations, and the food!

Our wedding was beautiful our catering manager, did a wonderful job. When booking around the holidays be prepared they will have other things going on and you may get put on the side, but after the holidays passed, the communication was fine. We were really "loose" when it came ot what we wanted in choosing a venue. All we knew is we wanted a great value for our money and something private and different. The ceremony we had at the Tower Gardens was beautiful! Very secluded and no uninvited guests as you would normally find at a hotel in Waikiki. The ballroom and buffet spread was impressive to say the least! We took one of our appetizers from our buffet menu and made it into a pupu before opening the doors to the reception. It worked out prefectly! Hawaii Price offered us everything we expected and more.

The staff and especially the catering manager are very helpful and pleasant. I would recommend this hotel for a wedding. The hotel itself is very classy if you are going to have a formal wedding.

Being in the hotel industry we knew what to look for and what we wanted. We went to various hotels and wanted one we could count on. The only reason why we chose this hotel was because we knew their food was good!
Linda the catering manager helped us out a lot and accomodated us with our requests. If you're looking for something that will treat you like the king and queen for the day or with amenities, you should look somewhere else. We got pretty much the basics, where as other places offer more, but like I said the food is a hit here! Same chef as the retaurant Prince Court.
We had a lot of mix ups with checking into our hotel room, our meals to go, boxes we brought our things in were thrown out or misplaced, etc. We had asked for food to take back up to our room to eat after because we hardly ate, and they packed us some food (which they don't usually do) but it wasn't enough food for the two of us!
