We couldn’t have asked for our night to go more smoothly, and much of it was thanks to the friendly and extremely helpful staff at the Pritzlaff Building. We worked mostly with Ali and Kristi, and Jessica helped us with our floor plan. They made everything so comfortable for us both in planning/leading up to our wedding and on wedding day. They accommodated everything we asked for and always had solutions to any problems we were running into. They provided their expertise when asked, but let us make the decisions for ourselves. The staff on wedding night were professional and timely and we couldn't have been any happier!
My husband and I are beyond grateful for the Pritzlaff team! We couldn’t have asked for a better venue and team for our wedding day! My husband and I had issues with our original venue which left us without a venue a month before our wedding. We reached out to the Pritzlaff to see if they had a space available on our date and Jessica, Ali and Kristi were quick to respond to let us know that they did. We did a walkthrough with Jessica and Ali, and they sat down with us afterwards to finalize the timeline, bar packages, linens, etc. We were so relieved after meeting with them and knew that we were in great hands. Jessica and Ali kept in constant contact with us leading up to our wedding and kept my mind at ease. On the day of our wedding, I knew that I could depend on the Pritzlaff team to assist with anything that came up with vendors, setup, timing, and more, which made for a very calm morning for me.
On top of having a great team, the Pritzlaff is a beautiful building with beautiful event spaces. My husband and I are so in love with the building, courtyard and the 325 room. We had our ceremony in the courtyard and the seats faced the cream city brick which was a beautiful backdrop and one of our favorite parts of the space. The 325 room was very spacious and had beautiful wooden pillars. We also decided to do a 30-minute photo session on the rooftop which was a great decision! Some of our favorite pictures were taken on the rooftop. Overall, we had an amazing day and all of our guest loved the venue!
Response from the Vendor on 08/31/2023
Thank you so much for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure working with you on your special day and we are so glad we could make it perfect for you! We wish you all the happiness and congratulations once again!
We are so happy to have had our September 2022 wedding at The Pritzlaff! From the day we toured the space, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for. We loved how we could really customize the space to make it our own through deciding details down to the chairs & lighting along with the ability to use 3 unique spaces throughout the building for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. So many of our guests still comment on how gorgeous and unique the venue was! Kristi also deserves the most praise as she was always so responsive to all of our questions & requests! She really helped us bring our vision for our wedding to life & ensured the day of ran so seamlessly which we sincerely appreciate! Overall, we couldn't imagine having our wedding day anywhere else!
Any questions?
We loved working with them and the space was amazing
If I could rate the Pritzlaff 100 stars I would!!! I could not have asked for a better experience with our venue that was used for both our ceremony and our reception! First of all the space is absolutely stunning on its own but also leaves so much room for creativity for decor on your own or with the help of the venue as they offer many rentals. Secondly the communication is outstanding from our initial meeting, to our floor planning, navigating covid restrictions and everything in between, we felt well taken care of and always informed! The best part about the Pritzlaff is truly their personnel. Cori Coffman is who we worked with through the entire process and she deserves all the recognition! She was seriously amazing with helping plan, contacting our vendors, taking on a “day of coordinator” role during both our rehearsal and the day of, and making sure every single part of our wedding went according to schedule. She went above and beyond expectations by trouble shooting when our slide show wasn’t working, making sure all the vendors were set up and knew where to go on our big day, and even helped with take down after our wedding was over! I cannot express our gratitude and appreciate for her enough! Also shoutout to the nicest security guys there are who not only made sure our guests were taken care of but also helped pack up all our wedding gifts, gave us a lock for a uhaul we rented so we could leave it overnight, and made sure we had a spot to park it! Our overall experience was top notch and I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone!! Truly professional and made our wedding day magical!
Cori and The Pritzlaff staff were amazing to work with for our wedding. We were a covid couple which meant there was an added layer of complexity to planning for us and we did have to postpone our original date. Cori and her team took everything in stride and supported us every step of the way. Cori went above and beyond to help make sure that the wedding of our dreams came to life despite the challenges surrounding our date. The space was breathtaking the day of our event, and our guests were blown away by the kindness of Cori and her staff. We truly could not imagine having our wedding anywhere but the Pritzlaff. We are so thankful to Cori and her team!
The Priztlaff and their staff were fantastic. Cori was so flexible and supportive leading up to our wedding. As the pandemic impacted our wedding, you can imagine the stress of moving a date multiple times. Cori was always so supportive and encouraging.
On the wedding date the venue was beautiful and the staff was great.
The Pritzlaff was the perfect venue for what we were looking for with our wedding. We wanted a venue that would mix both the industrial looks of downtown Milwaukee, but would also let us customize and dress up the space to make it a little more modern at the same time. We loved that the Pritzlaff gave us the opportunity to make the venue our own. We received several compliments from our guest who had been to the venue before, but commented that it looked completely different and felt like a totally different venue! Cori was wonderful to work with. With all the craziness of Covid restrictions, and all the added stress that entails for ANYONE involved with the wedding industry, Cori was very patient with us and always answered all our questions (we had a LOT). We were so happy with our experience at Pritzlaff and would highly recommend for any couples who are looking to make the space their own.
The Pritzlaff is truly an astonishing and unique event space. We hosted our wedding in Building 333 and it was absolutely stunning. We received so many compliments from our guests about amazing the space was and how they have never been to a venue like this before. We wouldn’t have been able to have such a beautiful wedding at The Pritzlaff if it weren’t for working with Cori. She is one of a kind, someone you want to have on your team, she knows what she’s doing and she’s doing it well! Planning a wedding in general can be very difficult and stressful, so adding a global pandemic to the mix takes it to the next level, but working with Cori and The Pritzlaff made life so much easier. She was always looking out for us. She really cares about her customers, and it was a calming feeling knowing that I could trust that she would help make our wedding night look amazing and run smoothly! The Pritzlaff is definitely a venue worth looking into. It will have your guests in awe, and it truly helps to work with such a outstanding event director.
Do not book with the Pritzlaff! From the day we booked them we knew we made a horrible mistake. It starts with the nickel and diming that happens as soon as you sign their contract. Every little thing costs extra on top of their steep rental fee. They make you pay for each chair and table that they own, not even rentals!
Their staff, especially their main contact for the space, has been insanely difficult to work with during these unprecedented times. We are in the middle of a pandemic and all we asked was to move our 320+ person wedding to 2021 and they wouldn't allow it, all while they were moving other people's events AND still booking new business for 2021. We patiently waited until August like they asked to move our dates (we began asking in April for our wedding in late October), and we were then told us that they can host a wedding up to 250 people for our October date. We asked if we could still move dates and she told us it would now be $750 to move our dates to next year. The kicker is, since they made us wait, there are now no Saturdays available in 2021 and they will not let us cancel without losing out on our deposit. When we told them 250 people would not work and we still wanted to cancel. They told us 6 weeks before our supposed date that they could now host up to 925 guests in their space. How is that even legal or safe?! The point is, we do not feel comfortable hosting our elderly relatives in the middle of a pandemic. We planned our wedding in Milwaukee only so our elderly and high risk relatives would be able to make it, as we don't even live in Wisconsin.
Your wedding is supposed to be the most special day of your life and the Pritzlaff staff have now made it the most stressful experience. As a professional in hospitality myself, I am truly appalled at their lack of empathy and service. They have no compassion for couples trying to do the right thing and postpone their weddings until a safer time. I hope no one has to experience this horrible excuse for hospitality. I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.
The Pritzlaff event space was an absolute dream. Our wedding planning experience during COVID was stressful, but we were fortunate to work with Cori and her team after our original venue was no longer available. Cori was very accommodating and truly helped us to have the most perfect wedding. Cori is talented in all things design and will help to make your wedding visions come to life. Cori recommended from the beginning that we invest in a wedding day-of coordinator, which we found to be highly complimentary to this space. This space has amazing structure, but requires a lot of coordination with vendors, rentals, etc. so we understood why a day-of coordinator was important. We are so happy that we stumbled upon this amazing venue and would highly recommend this space.
The venue was beautiful and the staff was fantastic. Louis and Cori were extremely accommodating and helped make our day so special. Cori came up with a great floor plan and Louis and Vincent ensured that every detail was taken care of. Their communication was always on point. We could not have been more pleased with how everything turned out. Thank you!
I would echo other reviewers who note that, while the space is beautiful, the people are difficult to work with. Be prepared to do most of the work yourself, while also adhering to strict guidelines from the management.
I am still giving 3 stars because, day of, the space looked beautiful (thanks to our wonderful florist!) and served our needs well. However, I would not choose the Pritzlaff again given the customer service experience, and I would not recommend it to others. Planning a wedding can be very stressful, and the attitude and support of a vendor can make a big difference!
I had my wedding reception at the Pritzlaff 325 space on October 5th. My fiancé and I loved the space and immediately knew that was where we wanted to host our reception. Our wedding reception turned out beautifully, but I was highly unimpressed with the Pritzlaff staff. When I met with Cori in April to create our floor plan layout, I found her to be rude. I was the first in both my family and my fiancé’s family to get married, so naturally, my Mom and fiancé’s Mom had a lot of questions. Cori was short and rude to us. Every time I went to email her for updates to the floor plan later on, I was told that I needed to wait and do changes closer to my wedding. I then waited until it was closer to my wedding to make changes and updates. The night of, they forgot to put out the 2 large chandeliers I had requested and paid for. I was highly disappointed by this as I had attempted many times to go over everything for the reception. Louis was our coordinator on the night of and he was extremely rude to my Mom (Mother of the bride who paid for the reception). I barely saw him for most of the night. Thankfully we had an amazing caterer (Lee John’s) and DJ (Sound By Design) who took care of everything for us on the night of! For the cost of the space and all of the rentals, I would expect the staff to be polite and invested in my wedding reception. The prices for everything (tables, chairs, lighting, linens) was very high and I was highly unimpressed with the staff and their overall lack of communication, professionalism, and investment in my wedding when we were paying so much. While I loved the unique space of the Pritzlaff, I wouldn’t recommend them to others. Find a venue and coordinator’s that are helpful, patient with you, easy to communicate with, and invested in your day of. I felt like what I was told by Louis when I first toured the space, was not what they actually provide on the night of.
The Pritzlaff is a fantastic place to hold any event. My wife and I recently worked with Cori there to plan the wedding of our dreams. The location, architecture, and ambiance of the building provided such a unique Milwaukee charm to the day, and really made us feel at home. The versatility of the 325 space is unmatched. Cori and her team were able to transform the room into something that was truly stunning and unforgettable.
The Pritzlaff is amazing. This space was exactly what we were looking for; something in the heart of Milwaukee with an Industrial edge and a whole lot of character. We ended up using the 325 space, which worked beautifully for our cocktail hour, ceremony and reception, and easily housed our 175 guest count.
When we started our search for a venue in Milwaukee this was actually the first place we found. We of course continued our search and looked at many other places but we could never get the Pritzlaff out of our heads; this was the winner for us from the start.
You honestly do not have to do much with the space as it has so much charm all on it’s own; the exposed brick, wooden beams and details, beautiful bar, and sprawling ceiling create quite the atmosphere. Supplement this space with the right details and it is quite honestly breathtaking.
We worked with Cori and her team over the course of a year to figure out details for the day. They were fantastic to work with, very flexible with our shifting ideas, and super helpful/knowledgeable when it came to suggested vendors and making the most of our chosen space. Cori is obviously very talented and passionate about this business and location, and it was a pleasure to work with her in bringing our vision to life.
We couldn’t have been happier. Thank you Cori and the rest of Pritzlaff Team!
I’ll never forget the first time I walked into the Pritzlaff. It was after seeing 5 or 6 other venues that weekend and I walked in and it gave me goose bumps. I knew I wanted to get married there before I knew any details about it. But once I learned more about it, it just got better and better. I loved having the option of getting married in the galleria so I didn’t have to flip the room for the reception. We were in the 325 room which came with outdoor space that included a private cobble stone path and beautiful photo backdrops. My husband and I also opted to do roof top photos which was so nice to do and get away from all the busyness. The space doesn’t need a lot of decoration because of the beautiful exposed brick and beams and truly captured the essence of Milwaukee. The other part of the Pritzlaff that made it so special was the staff. Cori is very organized and it is obvious she has a lot of experience with event planning. Kara was a great communicator and always quick to respond to our millions of questions and was very helpful the day of as well! Louis was our point person the day of and really listened to my husband and I and what we wanted. He was funny and easy going and somehow still managed to direct my huge wedding party so they knew what they were doing. The Pritzlaff was very willing to let us see the space multiple times and were so flexible and accommodating. Every angle and every photo at our wedding was beautiful because of the Pritzlaff wall-to-wall beauty. I could not be happier that we chose the Pritzlaff and we would recommend them to everyone!
Very disappointing venue. Staff was not friendly, were told the parking structure would be completed, when we arrived it was closed. Incredibly expensive for these things to be occurring. Bathrooms not taken care of during the evening, had to look for help with that. The only thing the Pritzlaff staff cared about was making sure everyone was out on time.
We absolutely loved our wedding at the Pritzlaff! So many of our guests commented on how beautiful the space was, and I couldn't agree more. We originally planned to have our ceremony out in the courtyard, but moved it to the Galleria and I'm glad we did. It ended up being a beautiful day, but having the ceremony inside took so much stress out of my last few weeks before the wedding. If you're thinking of doing it outside, just know that there's railroad tracks right behind the venue, so it's possible a train could be going by during the ceremony.
For our 130-person wedding reception, the Pritzlaff 143 space was the perfect venue! The space was intimate and warm, with the mix of lofted ceilings, dark wood beams and cream city brick. Our guests were swooning all night! Kara and her team were a joy to work with during our year-long planning process - very responsive, friendly and flexible. They were very upfront about being hands-off on the day-of (they set up the tables/chairs ahead of time), so we knew we had to leverage our other vendors (cake, florist, caterer) and a few family/friends to set up our extra tables and decor. As long as you're organized and don't go overboard with extra "non-vendor" decor, all of the vendors work together on the day-of to make sure all of the tables get set up perfectly. Our day-of coordinator from the Pritzlaff team, Louis, helped our vendors with questions during set-up and had great energy all night. We were very concerned about the construction directly in front of our event space the week before our wedding, and Kara coordinated with the city to make sure everything was cleaned up and presentable for our wedding day. Our reception was perfect. Thank you Kara and Louis!
We had our ceremony and reception at the Pritzlaff...I couldn't have imagined it any other place and would do it again in a heartbeat!!! Everything fell into place and was easier than I had expected for a DIY venue...Kori and Kara were very helpful along the way and were there to answer any questions I had. I would recommend this in the future!
We had a beautiful wedding at the Pritzlaff this Fall. The space absolutely speaks for itself. However, this venue is very much hands-off. If you are looking for hand holding throughout this process or for above and beyond service, this is not the venue for you. I would highly recommend getting a wedding coordinator or planner if you are considering booking with this venue.
The Pritzlaff was the perfect venue for our wedding! Thank you Kara for all your help with everything!
Our wedding at the pritzlaff was stunning! Venue 325 is a beautiful venue and we couldn't be happier with how everything looked! Kara and her team were great to work with. Kara responded quickly to emails and was great to work with. Our day of coordinator (I can't remember his name) was a rockstar. My parents said he was very professional during set up and he was so friendly and organized throughout the night!
I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because they don't help with anything other than setting up tables. I knew that going into it but that aspect did get stressful when planning the details the week of. Be sure to have designated family/friends or a coordinator for that day.
If you're on the fence about booking it here- I would urge you to make sure you have people willing to set up decorations (place cards, gift table, random decor) or find a day of coordinator. It's definitely worth it to book. We wouldn't change a thing about our wedding day!
We had the perfect wedding day at the Pritzlaff. Everyone of our guests commented on what a cool venue it was. The staff at Pritzlaff Events was extremely accommodating and helpful the entire wedding planning process. They helped us have the perfect wedding day!
We attended an open house at the Pritzlaff and from that moment forward no other venue stood a chance. There is something about this building that has so much character but yet it cozy and romantic — all these weird combinations of greatness. We really wanted to have our ceremony and reception in one location to make it nice and smooth on our guests and this was the perfect place to execute that. Our ceremony was held in the Galleria space and our reception in 325 with the courtyard. The venue was everything we imagined. For us picking a venue was the very first piece of the puzzle — with that being said we had NO IDEA what we were doing with planning. This venue is perfect and totally worth it but keep in mind that the rate is for the space — it doesn’t include anything else — everything else is an add on. This isn’t a problem and the good news it they will route tables, chairs, any fabric, draping, etc through them so you don’t need to work with additional vendors, they manage the bar and give you a list of caterers that you can work with just make sure you realize that up-front. Know what you want and ask the right questions but let them get creative and offer recommendations as well — after all they do this for a living! Everything about our day was perfect and the staff were easy to work with — our day truly wouldn’t have been the same in another location. Thank you for helping us along the way and being apart of our big day!
We selected the Pritzlaff Building - Galleria and Room 325 for our 11/26/16 ceremony and reception. The venue ambiance was great - classic Milwaukee cream city brick. I would rate the venue a "5" however, the customer service from the staff left something to be desired. The staff was short and a bit cold during the majority of our communications in person and via email - I would rate them a "2.5/3." I was prepared for this as I read reviews of the staff and venue that outlined exactly this experience (and heard it first hand from some of our vendors that had experience with the Pritzlaff staff). While I would still recommend the building itself, I'd recommend you not expect "warm and friendly wedding vibes" from the staff.
This place is incredibly unique and stunning. We were married in the Galleria and had our reception in the 325 space. It was the most gorgeous wedding most of our guest had ever seen! The space itself is already amazing, but then choosing every little detail to fill that space makes it your very own. The staff was so accommodating and you could tell they care about every event and wedding they put on. The Pritzlaff really set the tone for a wedding that no one will forget.
We had our wedding here in room 325 this past weekend 10/14/16. Everyone was beyond amazing!!! Cori and Kara were great to work with, the space and the atmosphere that this venue has is AMAZING!!! It was the best night of my life!!! All of my guests had nothing but great things to say!! We had our ceremony and reception here. The ceremony was outside in the courtyard, with cocktail hour under the tunnel and the reception in room 325. It is beyond beautiful! I highly recommend them to anyone for their wedding! It is an amazing experience that you will never forget!
We fell in love with the space as soon as we saw it. We got married at the 323 space and it was perfect. We loved the built in bar. Pritzlaff staff was easy to work with and Kara met with us and our caterer. Important to have a good caterer as they will be the one coordinating day of (unless you have a planner) . Alcohol up-charged a fair amount but that's to be expected. We would do it all over again at the Pritzlaff!
Is there a more beautiful place to get married? I don't think so!!!! We loved everything about this venue for our wedding! Cori and Kara were both amazing to work with! We had so much fun planning with them and they made our day perfect! I would highly recommend having any event at the Pritzlaff!!!!
This venue is an a la carte space. You literally pay for anything added including tables, linens, chairs, moving chairs, lights & chandeliers, ceremony podium, napkin folding, etc. If you go into it knowing that, it is not a painful process. They are very knowledgeable and experienced and the space is amazing. The day of execution was flawless.
Some other things to consider about this venue: you can only get in 2 hours before guest arrival, they charge for rehearsal and roof access, there is not much parking near by, trains can go by behind the 325 outdoor space and you can only get the metra schedule.
The Pritzlaff is the most stunning wedding venue in Milwaukee and in my opinion one of the most stunning in the country. We had the most incredible wedding there on 5/21/16. The staff, the decor, the vendors, everything was just perfect. People cannot stop raving about the event. Thank you to Kara, Cori and the rest of the staff at The Pritzlaff. You made our day one we will never forget!
The Pritzlaff is an amazing venue! Our wedding was a spectacular success and our guests were impressed with the architecture and attention to detail. Cori and Kara are so knowledgable and creative. They can help you visualize how to transform the space. Don't be afraid to ask how you can get the most for your budget. They are easy to talk with, super nice, and will be upfront. This made our day go smoothly!
We could not have picked a better spot to host our Milwaukee wedding. Our guests (and photographers) loved visiting the Third Ward and enjoyed the stunning beauty of this historic space. My husband and I held our wedding reception in the 325 space at the Pritzlaff and our ceremony was in the Galleria upstairs. The Pritzlaff has made so many tasteful updates to the building that help to accommodate wedding parties and their guests. They had the perfect bridal suite where the wedding party could relax before the ceremony and remain unseen until the big event. We have nothing but good things to say about the staff there. Everyone we worked with was quick to answer our questions and get back to us on quotes and cost. Cori, Kara, and Beth had great suggestions to make our dream wedding come to life and clearly had a lot of experience. The bartenders for the evening were friendly and gave my husband and I free drinks all night without being asked. They even made me a hot toddy that night because I got a terrible cold the day before our wedding. Those little touches just cement in our mind that the Pritzlaff was such a great place to celebrate our marriage.
Great experience! I had read all the reviews going in and will admit I was a bit nervous when we decided to go with the Pritzlaff but I was so sold on the look of the venue I decided to take my chances. We had nothing but great experiences with them! We used room 333 and had both the ceremony and reception all in that room. They are great with communication and answered my emails and questions quickly throughout the entire process. It will admit a wedding here can get pretty pricey if you are not careful but they were 100% transparent with all cost. They worked with me to change my floor plan about a million times and made changes to our rentals a bunch too! The day before and day of Kara was there making sure everything was going correctly and the entire event went smoothly. I am very happy I stuck with my gut and had our wedding here! :)
We absolutely loved our wedding at The Pritzlaff!! It was a gorgeous venue and we felt very taken care of. Know that if you are looking for a venue with staff that will e-mail and check in on you weekly, this isn't your place. During the wedding planning process, I was a little surprised by the lack of communication and response time - but these guys are dealing with 3+ weddings every weekend. What matters most, was that on the day of the wedding everything went perfectly!! Our only complaint would be the bar. When we got the bill, we were surprised to see a 21% gratuity had been added. We were even more shocked that on the day of the wedding the bar staff had set out jars for tips! Also, the bartender made the groom pay for his drink - there is no reason that the bride and groom should be paying for drinks on the night of their wedding. All in all, we had a beautiful wedding and couldn't have imagined it anywhere else!
Beautiful space, but be prepared for a massive headache when working with the Pritzlaff. It's easy to sum up: most vendors are in the wedding business, the Pritzlaff is a real estate company (Sunset Investors). In fact, the space was purchased by a commercial developer who converted it into a wedding venue only to ride out the real estate crisis that crippled his original plan to use the space for luxury condos and boutiques. Their main concern is turning a dime, not your wedding. And you will feel that severely throughout the entire process.
Responses (only after you sign the contract) are abrupt, boarder line rude, mark ups are CRAZY expensive (200 do simple go to the roof and take a photo? 500 for a string of lights?), added gratuity way above 20% that you must pay regardless, horrible wine and "champagne" (it's Cava) selection that is ridiculously expensive... the list truly does go on.
Unfortunately, there were multiple times throughout the wedding planning process that we said to ourselves "let's just get through this, we know we are simply money makers for them" and when you're spending that much on a single day, it's a really tough reality to swallow.
Staff only respond to mails Tuesday-Friday as they are too busy with weddings to answer over the weekends and need Monday to recover. Always review all of your itemized bills as there are extra charges that are unjustified. They will remove them if you put up a stink, but again, it's a horrible feeling when you have to go through line by line because you know you are being taken for a ride.
Very sadly, if we were to do it all over again, we would not work with the Prtizlaff. If you are in a situation where you have an unlimited budget and someone else coordinating for you, it will be a great option. If you are doing it yourself, just know going into it that it will be difficult.
It's really a shame because if their customer service was up to par with other vendors in the same area, and up to speed with the beauty of the space, they would really have a phenomenal product on their hands and would, long term, turn a substantial profit. The potential is simply astronomical. Sadly, we signed before reading their reviews, and we painfully understood that too late in the game.
Beware.
We had our wedding in the 143 space and Galleria and could not have been happier. We were very hands on and had lots of questions and changes that we needed to make along the way, and Kara was very accommodating with all of it. The Pritzlaff team was very helpful and knowledgeable. Kara was there the day of our big day and was helpful with anything we needed. She has a great relationship with our vendors which also helped our night go smoother than we ever expected it could. The space is also very unique and we got nothing but complements about it. without this venue and the people at pritzlaff, our wedding would not have had the same effect on us or our guests. It met our vision of a perfect day exactly!
From the first time my husband and I walked into the 333 space we fell in love. We also fell in love with Cori, one of the amazing wedding planners at the Pritzlaff. As months went on we started to see our vision come to life. Cori's thought and attention to detail throughout the wedding process was second to none. I would come to her with an idea and she would see it through. Walking into the space on the day of was everything I had dreamed of and more! We had both our ceremony & reception in the space which was perfect. Guests loved how the room was broken into multiple spaces, each space having it's own look at feel. If you are looking for a space that is a blank canvas and have a vision to transform it into a look of your own then the Pritzlaff is for you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our wedding day so special & a special thank you to Cori for seeing our vision and making it a reality!
From the moment we walked into the 143 space at Pritzlaff, although not anywhere near finished at the time, we knew it was the space we wanted to celebrate our special day in. The staff, Cori in particular, was very accessible and willing to help us brainstorm ideas as to how we could create the most memorable day ever! Our experience was amazing including a photo shoot on the 3rd floor. Can't say enough about the space and the opportunity to make it your own! It was a day that we will never forget as well as our guests who joined us to celebrate. Definitely a space you need to check out in your wedding planning process. We couldn't have been happier with our decision!
I fell in love with this building immediately! It is gorgeous and for that I'm glad I used it! However, there was a lot of disappointment. There are a LOT of rules! Many of which are very silly. The floors are concrete and our DJ wasn't allowed to tape his cords to the ground to prevent people from tripping, why I don't know, like I said the floor is concrete! The person we worked with was polite to me (the bride) but often rude to others in my wedding party which I find off-putting. They also do not serve shots so you had to order, for example, grey goose on the rocks for $10 and take it away from the bar, pour the booze into another cup and then take it. You can not use sparklers. They also require security that you have to pay for and it is not an option to not have them. Most of the staff was polite but some of the security was rude. We offered a complimentary welcome drink for guests right after the ceremony and did run out. Instead of asking if we wanted more made and charging us they just didn't have any for the remaining guests. Flexibility is not something I found they do. I ended up getting bounced around to 3 different event coordinators only to end up with the one I began with. They give you a list of 10 caterers they allow and I chose one from the list (who I loved!) and upon my 3rd meeting with a coordinator she told me that that caterer was not on their list. She was incorrect and that worked out but that is still not a scare a bride needs a month before the wedding! On a positive note my wedding was supposed to be outside and it rained and they had a gorgeous alternative space which I was so thankful for!
Let me start by saying, the building is absolutely gorgeous. And that is the only good thing about this company. Their customer service is completely awful. They were the absolute worst wedding vendor I had to deal with. When I would have an appointment scheduled with them in the office, I would walk in and they would just be typing away on their computers and not even greet me as I awkwardly wait by their desk feeling uncomfortable. So RUDE! I had to babysit them during the whole process to make sure we were on schedule with planning. When we decided the bar menu, I had asked for the meeting and then in the meeting they told me how late we were to be planning this. How was I supposed to know that? It's their job to run their business correctly! And don't get me started on how long it takes them to respond to emails. I would have to email them 2 or 3 times before receiving a response - and I mean waiting a week or two, not in the same day (I am a reasonable person!) The price was outrageous, so I at least expect good service and I didn't get it. Not to mention during the actual reception, they paid complete attention to the other larger wedding going on at the venue and they made us late in our dinner schedule - TWICE! First, they were supposed to take us up to the third floor for pictures (they have the elevator key) and they were no where to be seen. They were 15 minutes late. Then after we cut the cake, they were suppose to move its table off the dance floor for our first dance and they were 40 minutes late doing that. On your wedding, you don't want to have to worry about anything and instead I was running around the venue looking for the Pritzlaff employees who were no where to be found. HORRIBLE! DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! It's such a shame because the building is beautiful, but it's not worth it.
We looked at nearly every venue in Milwaukee and this felt the most unique to us. We only saw the venue twice before the day, once before we signed and once to figure out details, and both times were rushed through quickly. The space is very urban and I'm glad we had it there because it will be great in pictures, but leading up to the wedding day was a huge headache.
With a venue like Pier Wisconsin it's all included - staff, security, tables, AV and a planner who will do it all, like setting up placecards, and make sure it goes off without a hitch. At the Pritzlaff you pay for JUST the space. To their credit they made this clear (after we signed), but I didn't realize how much more of a headache and expense it would be. Some of my friends who had their weddings at more experienced and polished places like the Museum or Pier Wisconsin had a much easier time overall. It's definitely a tradeoff to consider.
Emails with the staff were prompt and clear, but that was it. The Pritzlaff's insane policies and bottom line are the priority over your experience, no flexibility or desire to work with you at all. All the paperwork is vague and when you are paying for every single table and chair (even tables for the caterer to use in the kitchen) you want them to be on top of it.
In the absence of any ongoing, fruitful communication it would at least have been helpful to have a brochure that says what does/doesn't come with the space, policies for vendor loading, extra fees etc. Otherwise if you don't think to ask those questions you get a lot of unexpected "surprises" later. Like finding out a week before that you have to pay the band for an extra two hours because the Pritzlaff won't let them load in later. Or finding out that the string of lights that was hung up when you saw the place is $250 to rent each strand, even if it's already hung up.
The burden is on you to think of every detail that would likely be automatic at other venues (lighting, audio, mics for the ceremony etc). Having never planned a wedding before I became nervous that there were things we hadn't even thought about so we had to hire a wedding planner to handle the basic venue logistics with them.
You shouldn't have to expect the worst from your venue, but that's what we started to do. Our guests liked the space, but they did have negative feedback about the ceremony because it was really loud. You could hear trains and construction from outside. They also refused to let us have a rehearsal (which we would also have had to pay for) because they were too busy with other events. Someone could have easily come in before 11am to let us do it then, but they refused.
The day of the wedding I only saw the face of 1 Pritzlaff staff the entire time and that's only because we had to chase her down for 30 mins to let us into a space take pictures. I don't care if we hired a wedding planner, someone should have at least been there to say hi or thank us for our business. There were two other weddings going on during ours and they should know how to handle "busy" situations by now.
You are forced to use their bartenders. At the reception their bartenders stopped serving two of our guests who were nowhere near close to inebriation, they were simply getting drinks for guests on the dance floor.
Overall it's a huge tradeoff because staff are overworked sales people, not at all customer-oriented like most other venues in the city.
Loved being able to pick out all the details from the furniture, lighting, caterer. Although with that many options, it can become overwhelming. The staff at the Pritzlaff know how to throw a great event.
We had an excellent experience working with The Pritzlaff. The staff was so helpful and accommodated every request we had. They turned a blank canvas into a spectacular event and I wouldn't have wanted our wedding anywhere else!
While I absolutely loved the space, working with the coordinator, Cori, was difficult to say the least. She was unorganized and unprofessional the entire process. My fiance wanted to walk away from our deposit the first time he met her. And he likes everybody! I took the approach, "let's kill her with kindness" and disregard a lot of other warnings from other area vendors and even brides. That didn't work.
As beautiful as the space is (a historic gem!) I wouldn't recommend it, just because of Cori. We encountered mistakes by other vendors (expected... we're all human!) and they were all handled professionally. There were some major gaffes on Cori's end that were not handled appropriately at all. Plenty of other beautiful places in Milwaukee to get married and probably treated much better.
If you're looking for a venue to promise you the world and then take it all back… unless you'd like to spend a fortune to have it, then this is the venue for you! They're horrible. I would not recommend The Pritzlaff to anyone. The venue space is beautiful – But, the way its run is ridiculous and unreliable.
For starters, their management staff are completely unprofessional and extremely inconsistent with what they offer you as a client. Their contract does not contain specific pricing information from the beginning, so they're able to up-charge whatever they'd like to. For example, $250 to utilize their projector and screen, which cannot be moved…you’ve got to be kidding me! Plus, double check what will be included at your event, because that is bound to change, along with the price!
Their staff clearly doesn't communicate well to one another and are extremely contradictive. During many conversations I was told one thing by one member of management and then a week later, told a completely different story. The reasoning, “because it was until recently it was changed” – Really, in a week's time it changed?
If you can deal with their ludicrous attempt to host your wedding or event, best of luck to you. But, for me, I'm lucky to have found another venue that I can count on to make sure my event goes off without a bang!
Great location, can't wait for the wedding pictures. We had the 325 space which had an outside area we used for cocktail hour. This space books up fast so need to inquire right away if interested. The only issue was the company was going through a transition so getting in touch with someone was hard at times and you have to order everything in.
The Pritzlaff Building is a perfect venu if you're looking for a rustic yet classy feel. Cori Coffman, the coordinator at the Pritzlaff, was amazing. She knows what she's doing and was there to help at every turn. If you book The Pritzlaff as your venu you do have to select from a list of cateres that they work with, go through them for the bar/booze, and work with Canopies for table, chair and other rentals so you don't have the option to bring in other vendors for those things but I found it to be easier and more convienent that way. The price was more than we originally planned on spending but we fell head over heels in love with the space and there was no turning back from the moment we viewed it for the first time. It was everything we were looking for and we received SO many compliments on how beautiful it was. We had our ceremony in one building, appatizers and a bar outside for cocktail hour and the reception in a seperate building. (All three areas are right next to eachother) Everything took place on site which made it nice and relaxed for our guests and for us.
