We had the most amazing experience with our wedding at the resort! Terisa, the event manager, was incredible and easy going to work with. She always had a “let’s figure this out” attitude and did everything she could to accommodate our requests. The food and beverage staff were also outstanding! They kept smiles on their faces all day, made sure our guests were happy, and kept everyone’s bellies full (and happy, haha). We had our ceremony at Paradise and our reception at Purgy’s. Our guests absolutely loved the chair lift ride up to the ceremony site—it made the day even more memorable and fun! The Colorado weather was a bit unpredictable, but some magic happened, and the storm passed right around us just in time for the ceremony. We did have a few small hiccups leading up to our day but everything was resolved quickly and handled with care. The mountain staff were wonderful as well, so friendly and helpful with getting guests on and off the lifts and assisting with anything we needed. In the end, everything turned out perfectly, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day or a better team to make it happen! We will forever have a special places in our hearts for this Resort and it's staff who made our day the most memorable day in our lives. Thank you Purgatory staff for putting your heart and sweat into our day to make it everything we hoped for and more!

We had a beautiful wedding at Dante’s at Purgatory Resort. Our guests gushed about how beautiful the setting was and the food was FANTASTIC all around. The food was seriously good....

Terisa was nice to work with. Our guests loved the summer activities available at the resort. The bus system for guests to get to the venue was a little clunky and some guests complained of the rough road and motion sickness. One guest even vomited on the bus on the ride down (he was drinking far too much, and we had to pay for a clean up fee). My one complaint with purgatory is that they substantially increased the prices of food and drinks per guest about 2 months before the wedding. This increased our total cost by about $15/person, which we were not prepared for and they would not budge on pricing.

We understand couples carefully budget for their wedding, and we never want adjustments to feel like a surprise. For transparency, our Tips and Guidelines - shared with all contracted couples - do explain that menu items and pricing are subject to change, and that final prices are confirmed three weeks prior to the event. While we know the price increase can be disappointing, we have this policy in our guidelines to account for market fluctuations and to ensure we can still provide the high level of service and food we strive to provide every guest with. 10/10, such a great venue and team. Our day was filled with weather chaos and 100+ guests on site waiting to watch us get married on the top of mountain at Paradise. Terisa and tea...

m along with our day of coordinator allowed for a swift shift in timeline to be able to have our ceremony before the weather hit. Ceremony site is gorgeous rain or shine and guests really enjoyed riding the lift to the top. You are able to dress up the ceremony site as much or as little as you would like and it's still incredible. The chair lift operators were so kind and such a fun vibe to them! Food and beverages were spot on and the f&b team worked with us to cater to our wants for the big day. My recommendation, spend a little extra money to rent chairs for your reception dinner setting and ask Purg team to store their chairs, it made our entire setting 10x more beautiful!! Again, the options for you to dress up the venue are endless. On site accommodations were very clean and they have a vast range of room types and price ranges for your guests to book- minimal issues reported from our guests. My only resort/site complaint is the lack of food available on site for guests during the summer. The pizza shop was great but has very limited hours, the deli/market was terrible and so overpriced, close to $30 for a very stale bagel and breakfast sandwich. Very limiting for guests who didn't rent a car/drive in for your wedding.

hey can to make sure each wedding day goes by smoothly. Which is a huge plus for a florist and every vendor involved. We are able to get into the site early in the morning and take our time to produce your picture perfect wedding. Not just that, but having a walk in cooler to store florals in during the preparation process is incredible and preserves the integrity of the flowers. Purgatory Weddings goes above and beyond for each of their clients and vendors. They stay in constant communication with everyone (vendor and client) so when we show up on site the day we can get our jobs done to the highest of standards. It also allows the party getting married to be able to enjoy their entire day instead of worrying about what is happening on the set up side. After setting dozens of weddings at Purgatory I can also ensure you that each ceremony and reception site is kept to the highest of standards. ch potential to where you can dress it up to whatever is your style. And we are SO grateful for their team that made it all happen just days before our date! (There was a lot of uncertainty about location because of the crazy amount of snow that came that winter.) Terisa was communicative, answered all of our ongoing questions(for over a year ;) and we were ecstatic to find out the good news the week of our wedding that we could keep our ceremony site as planned! I'd say we asked for quite a few 'untraditional' requests throughout our planning ;) and Terisas' answer was always "Let me find out for you". They were more than accommodating with our requests and those details made our wedding so special and unique (our guests are still in awe!). There will always be a special place in our hearts for Purgatory and the staff that made it all happen- it truly take a village! fall which meant all of the planning happened during their busiest time of the year for other weddings. Even with the short notice, Purgatory was able to accommodate us for site tours and food tastings. The team is so thorough on all aspects of coordinating between vendors and guests. I didn't have to stress about any logistics on the wedding day thanks to their preparation, and was able to just enjoy the big day. We got married at Boyce and it was the perfect mountain dream wedding site. It rained on our wedding day so the team quickly accommodated last minute changes without having to involve me. The reception was at Purgys and we had so many guests compliment the food! Even the vegetarian dish was excellent. The team thought of all pieces to have in place to make sure we had a perfect day. Thank you for everything!

I would have loved to leave a five star review but there were some negative things. First things first, my wedding was absolutely beautiful. My wedding coordinator Shea was amazing...

. She was the other me on my day. She was always a step ahead of me and took care of whatever my guests and I needed. The resort on the other hand didnt. A lot of my guests were very unhappy with their rooms. They didnt get what they paid for and the resort was not up front about a lot. The food that was served at my reception was awful. The steaks were still mooing and some of the chicken was undercooked as well. Considering I brought the resort so much business the weekend of my wedding ( because most of my 100 guests stayed at the resort) I was hoping I could maybe get my room free or at a heavy discount but was not so lucky. We stayed at the resort for four nights and I spent around 800 dollars just on out room. I wish I could give a better review but just trying to be honest.

My fiancée and I planned our entire wedding from Miami, we had never seen the venue or Durango itself, we relied heavily on the pictures online and just by trusting our wonderful sales coordinators. Between Shea and Stefanie, they answered my every question and ensured that I was a happy bride! When we arrived in Durango, we instantly fell in love with the amount of mountains and the beauty of the little town, the ski resort is gorgeous and has the most beautiful views I have ever seen. On Friday, Stefanie was kind enough to take us up to Dante’s and show us the venue, she helped us set up, answered every question and assisted during the rehearsal. When the wedding day came she helped with transportation and made sure my fiancée and I felt like royalty. She helped pin up my dress, brought us drinks, made sure we ate before the buffet line opened, she did such an amazing job I have raved to absolutely everyone I know about the beauty of this town, the resort and especially the beautiful people that helped make this destination mountain wedding dream come true. Every detail of our wedding was flawless, thank you ladies for your never ending kindness and your patience it is greatly appreciated and you made two people very happy.

First off, let me say my wedding was a dream and everything went off without a hitch. Karlee is so sweet, professional, responsive and organized. She took care of us all night! T...

here were a few bumps in the road (otherwise I would have rated this a 5) that made me think our size of wedding was something they hadn't handled before, but after I expressed all my concerns with Karlee, she made sure all the issues were addressed and resolved. The organization was key because all of our guests had to be shuttled back and forth between the ceremony and reception, and it went smooth, despite me concerns it might not. We are big foodies and wanted to make sure the food was prepared and ready in a timely manner and we were not disappointed. It was so delicious! We had our ceremony at Boyce, which is gorgeous and our reception in the festival tent. Some advice to couples in the tent: Make sure you invest in lighting! To add to our perfect weekend we stayed at the Cantilever Cabin, which was the perfect setting for our rehearsal, and weekend entertaining for our guests. Thank you Purgatory for making our wedding perfect!!!

You're not allowed to hang anything from the ceiling, put anything on the walls, etc there. I would recommend renting the large, outdoor tent for plans of that sort.
