I believe my wife and I were very mislead by so many good reviews of QC Wedding Planning, so I feel compelled to share our honest feedback. I would not recommend Candice or QC Wedding Planning and we regret working with them for our wedding. My wife & I wanted to do much of the planning for our wedding and looked to hire someone to step in and do day-of coordination. We interviewed several planners/coordinators and ultimately decided to go with Candice because her pricing was very reasonable, and she offered day-of coordination. Her sales pitch for this service was that she actually step in 10-12 weeks out from the wedding and handle all communication with vendors on our behalf so “we wouldn’t have to worry about anything the month leading up to our wedding.”
We had our initial planning meeting about 3 months out from the wedding where we handed over everything, all vendor contracts/contact info, a floor plan we had worked with the venue to create, a list of attendees, wedding party details including phonetic pronunciation of names, and a very detailed timeline for the entire wedding day. We let her know we were comfortable with her tweaking per her professional opinion and closing any gaps. We also asked for some creative ideas for various parts of our reception. After handing that over we did not hear from Candice for probably a month. We invited her to our planning meetings that we had set up with our photographer and DJ and on both calls she asked questions and made comments as if she had never had a single conversation with us regarding our wedding.
After these two calls, once again, we did not hear from her for many more weeks and had to ask her multiple times to see a final version of our timeline for the day and when she finally agreed to meet with us to do a final run through 10 days before our wedding she acted very rushed and inconvenienced. She told us that it was not industry standard to have details finalized this “far out” from the wedding. The run of show provided during this meeting was essentially a copy and paste of what we had sent her for our first meeting and she didn’t provide any insight on any of the pieces of our reception we had asked her opinion on. We clearly articulated from early on we were looking for a very non-traditional wedding which Candice seemed onboard with, but throughout the process she constantly assumed we would be doing things very traditionally, and often forgot details we had shared. For instance, she asked on 3 separate occasions when we were planning to do our cake cutting – which we had shared from the begging that we would not be having a wedding cake.
At our rehearsal dinner, Candice seemed very disorganized and once again had missing/incorrect details as she was running through the timeline for the day. She mispronounced our last name in front of our entire family, mispronounced multiple names of our wedding party, and completely left my brother in law off the list for the processional (which was all provided to her). Before leaving the venue she asked my wife and I if we had any concerns or needed anything and I asked if she could assist with running through the father-daughter dance because I had some concerns about timing and she said “sure” then proceeded to leave the building, it was almost comical at this point. She had also offered to bring a steamer to the rehearsal dinner for my wife’s attire and completely forgot about that as well.
Candice told us from day 1 she would have one of her assistants, Dan or Marcella, on site the day of our wedding for extra support. We asked during our 10 day out meeting if we could have a brief and informal intro with whoever would be her assistant for the day just to put a name with a face and feel comfortable as we were having a very small intimate wedding. She said she wasn’t sure which one of them it would be as she hadn’t asked them for their availability yet, which we thought was strange given it was 10 days away. The day of the wedding we were shocked when she brought her husband with her and said he would be her assistant for the day. She obviously failed to verify a second employee’s availability and needed a quick way to not violate her own contract.
All in all, our wedding day did turn out incredible, however I would credit that to our other vendors and my wife & I’s planning and not to Candice or QC Wedding Planning.
I was elated with the service QC Wedding Planning provided. My day was AMAZING! I would not have been able to enjoy it without the service she provided. She made sure I felt no pressure and everything was on point. Thanks to QC Wedding Planning for your professional service and making my event worry free.
Candace did a great job from start to finish. The initial consultation was phenomenal she listened and understood our vision. I’ve heard many people talk about how stress it is planning a wedding but must say QC travel took my stress away to allow me to focus on my big day.
Candice was extremely professional! She was able to save us money with her relationships with her preferred vendors. She was very personable and didn't meet a stranger. She made us feel very comfortable making the choice to hire her as our planner. She thought about all of the things we did not which made me confident that all would be covered. Hire her! She made this process so easy and stress free!
