On September 2, 2023 my spouse and I had a gorgeous wedding at the beautiful Queens Botanical Garden. The Event Coordinator, Kamaria was amazing from the start of our planning until the actual big day. Her professionalism along with her team allowed our guests to be fully engaged in the vision we had for our special day. This venue is the perfect place for the couple who wants to create their own layout plan and move away from the typical norm. It has been 3 months since our wedding and our guests are still raving about it. Do yourself a favor and check out this beautiful gem in Queens!
Kamaria was absolutely wonderful in helping my husband and I plan our medium-sized wedding ceremony at Queens Botanical Garden. She always helped in answering our questions and was present with tips and pointers during our rehearsal. We did our wedding ceremony in May and the wedding garden was gorgeous, a lot of plants, trees, and flowers in bloom. Beautiful location and Kamaria was wonderful with helping in the coordination!
While the garden itself is beautiful I found the event coordination team to be very unhelpful. It was really frustrating that throughout our wedding planning no one ever answered the phone and there were times we waited several days for an email response that could have been easily handled in a 5 min phone conversation. At our wedding rehearsal walkthrough we were assured by the member of the team that the bride would have someone help coordinate her entrance and no such person was there so the brides family had to help orchestrate and she was rushed down the aisle and unable to see the rest of her party walk before her.
Wedding guests were waiting outside the garden as the gate was closed and the wedding coordinator did not tell them they were permitted to enter and take seats.
We were also told during our rehearsal and at other meetings (which we had to make in person because our emailing/phone calls were not being answered in a timely manner) that we could drop off our decor to be put out for guests before ceremony but we could not get in touch with anyone from the event team to do so. Luckily a member of the garden who had nothing to do with events helped us as we were unable to get in contact with anyone from the team. We then reminded the team via email what was left and where and yet- when the groom arrived nothing was brought out and he had to scramble to get everything in order.
Know that if you choose this venue it requires a lot of leg work on your end. When we met in person to discuss our wedding and changes in policy were brought up to us we inquired why we werent notified sooner and shared our dismay at not being able to reach anyone via their phone number ever. We were then asked (a little more than a month before our wedding) if we just wanted to cancel. This was surprising as we were just asking for better communication as a couple who had already sent our deposit- it seemed as though they would have rather people cancel their wedding then have to meet the needs and expectations of a couple that chose to spend their day at their venue.
If I were to do it all again I would have looked for a place with better hospitality who showed greater initiative and commitment to hosting such a special event.
Any questions?
The Queens Botanical Garden is an amazing venue. The staff was professional and gracious, helping us with every question and concern. The event coordinator Kamaria Dennis, was the extra hand needed to keep it all together. From weekly standing appts with us, to going back to our hotel for the brides earrings right before the wedding. Such a sweet, and great person, we're pleased to have worked with with her. Overall our wedding experience with QBG was magical. They were able to help us achieve our "Storybook Wedding"
We booked this venue because of its beauty but the incompetency of everyone we had to deal with along the way was alarming and we would never wish it on another couple looking to celebrate their nuptials! Never once did someone answer the telephone when we called - even after we signed our contract and gave a down payment. Average time to get a response to an email was a week which is completely unacceptable when your wedding is a month away. Bride was assured someone would be assigned to her the moment she entered the venue which was not the case and her family and photographer had to coordinate and finally she was rushed over to walking down the aisle. The event coordinator did nothing but stand there- did not set up what was supposed to be arranged before start of wedding. when guests arrived no one was told they could sit down and so they gathered outside of the garden confused. The garden charges guests to park which is extremely tacky and when we confirmed we would pay for our guests we worried they would be charged anyway being that every person we dealt with at this venue was completely incompetent. You’ll notice all the glowing ratings are from years ago when someone else was in charge of wedding events. We have never dealt with people who seemed so uninterested in hospitality and though we consistently spoke about the lack of communication nothing was ever done to rectify this. Run away!
A Beautiful Place with Terrible Customer Service
I'm giving it two stars because the grounds were nice and most of the staff were very pleasant but everything else left a lot to be desired. With the understanding that Covid has left many places short-staffed, it should not take nearly a month to get email replies when your wedding is 3 months away. That's after several calls, visits, and failure to get a preferred vendor list when we first went into contract (The failure to provide the vendor list also contributed to a last minute scramble for a cocktail hour provider). When I finally did manage to talk to someone, by going to the office after repeated emails, there was a sense of annoyance that I was asking questions in the first place. The eventual answers to emails were also curt and had sometimes had an annoyed tone. (This is why I put 'most' in my description of pleasant staff.) I've never been married before so I did have a lot of questions but that's also something I feel a Wedding Venue should be prepared for. There were also two issues on the wedding day itself:
1. I paid for extra chairs for guests and made a point of clarifying that would be 2 complete setups. Instead, while seating for the Wedding Garden was sufficient, the Cocktail Hour required people to stand or sit on nearby benches because seating was inadequate.
2. I prepaid for parking spots for my guests (parking isn't included in the original price, only admission to the gardens). Yet I began the day with 3 calls from people being charged for parking at the gate.
Both of these definitely put a damper on what I'd hoped would be a smooth day.
So in conclusion, as beautiful as this place is, I cannot recommend it due to the inadequate levels of customer service. If you choose them anyway, be prepared to hound them for information and clarifications, with all of the hassle and stress that information will come with.
Very poor customer service!!!
Beautiful wedding garden, but God help you if you need to use the indoor due to inclement weather . The use of the indoor is the same price as the garden, which is in no way comparable. The indoor room is dimly lit with a few round tables and hard chairs. You are expected to decorate on your own in the event of inclement weather, which of course is additional!
Just beware of alternative options before paying your money. Management tends to ignore you once money is paid. Attempted to speak with them on numerous occasions without success. I was constantly routed back to wedding representative. Horrible customer service!!! Also, note that it is very difficult to get in touch with staff after booking, which is stressful when planning a wedding!
Ended up having to book another venue last minute!
Perfect
We had our wedding ceremony in the private wedding garden at Queens Botanical Garden and were thoroughly pleased. We worked with Ebony throughout the entire planning process and she was available via email and we met up with her a few times to review details as well. Ebony was enthusiastic, friendly, and informative throughout the entire process. She gave us a contact to book additional chairs for the ceremony, which worked out perfectly. On the day of the wedding, Kamaria was there to coordinate the walk down the aisle and she did a phenomenal job!! Overall I think QBG is a great spot to have your special ceremony. I do wish someone (possible front desk) could pick up the phone more often, because of how busy Ebony is. All in all, we were so happy to celebrate our special day at QBG, the photos in the garden looked amazing, and everyone had a great time.
My wife and I had a great experience at Queens Botanical Garden thanks to Ebony and Kamaria's expert planning and coordination and the beautiful scenery. The Garden is an ideal venue to host a wedding celebration and we highly recommend.

My husband and I were wed at the Queens Botanical Garden on 8/10/18. I couldn't ask for a more beautiful event. The flowers were in full bloom and Ebony was a great hostess. My only suggestion is if you do get married in the summer time, please invest in renting the tents/umbrellas for your guests. There isn't any shade and my poor guests were out there in the scorching sun waiting for the ceremony to begin. All in all it was a very romantic event and the scenery in my pictures came out amazingly. Thank you Ebony for all your assistance. I totally recommend QBG as the ultimate wedding ceremony location.
Here I am on my honeymoon in Italy, thinking about how amazing our wedding went thanks to Ebony!! Our wedding was just perfect and it was all mostly thanks to her. From day one until the end of wedding Ebony was attentive and literally went above and beyond for our needs. The day of wedding other vendors really stressed me out and Ebony went out of her way and Made everything ok. I truly felt a bond with her and it is because she truly loves what she does and does it from the bottom of her heart. Even after all the planning of a year my wedding would not have been perfect if it was not for Ebony. QBG is Lucky to have her because she is truly one of a kind. Christian and I are so thankful for your kindness, support, attention, personality, and your work ethic through the planning and during our wedding. Thank YOU from the bottom of my heart. You are the best!!!!!! You might not feel same lol because I know I was being a bridezilla but I truly miss working with YOU!! Thank you :)))
PS: Kamara(sorry if I spelled wrong) was there helping during wedding as well and she was so attentive all day!! Thank you!!
We had the most wonderful time working with Ebony on our wedding ceremony at QBG! Everything was just perfectly organized and we are very happy we chose to have our ceremony in a beautiful garden! Thank you to all the stuff and Ebony for making it special and memorable!
Ebony and Kamaria were extremely helpful with answering all of our questions . They were a big help the day of- and the ceremony was timely and made sure everything went smoothly. It was such a big day but the gardens were beautiful. We had a great time. They are both busy but are patient with answering all of my questions. I definitely recommend this venue to hold your ceremony. Thanks again Ebony and Kamaria at QBG!
The garden was beautiful and Ebony was amazing! She ensured that everything went smoothly so we would have a perfect ceremony. She was very understanding and helpful with everything.
Ebony was amazing from beginning to end, I started planning all the way from Vegas and she made it smooth and clear.... the day of my wedding it was scheduled to rain and she prayed for us and was so patient because guest did not arrive on time... the wedding garden is beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone.... thank you Ebony and QBG staff
Ebony knows what she's doing!
Communication was a little slow in the beginning due to the busy wedding season, but once it picked up we were able to arrange things quickly. There are almost 100 back and forth emails between us!
I was super scared that the trees and flowers wouldn't bloom on time for our May 5th wedding (there was not a colorful petal in sight during our super cold walkthrough a couple of weeks before), but Ebony assured me that the garden would look beautiful, and it did! A rainbow of tulips and cherry blossom trees surrounded us--we were at a loss for words! And to top it off, the weather was perfect! Ebony kept the day going smoothly alongside my DOC. She was kind, professional, and organized in person as well. Great gal!
The gardrn is beautiful! It was perfect for my wedding ceremony and pictures! Great place to fet married!
We got married at the Queens Botanical Garden June, 2017 and absolutely LOVED it. We wanted an affordable outdoor venue in NYC that allowed us to use our own vendors and QBG fit the bill on every end, we were even able to bring in a food truck right to the covered venue. I also have to thank Ebony who was very patient with our multiple meetings/walk throughs/emails.
Our wedding day was overcast and there was misting rain, but we were still able to have a GORGEOUS wedding there. We moved the cocktail hour to the covered terrace and folks used umbrellas in the garden. We took beautiful photos and so much of the garden was in bloom that time of year.
We had such a perfect wedding ceremony at the garden. We were very lucky with the weather but Ebony was easy to work with and she helped out a lot in trying to make planning easier. The garden does have strict rules around certain thing but nothing out of the ordinary. We had the most amazing ceremony. If you are looking for a ceremony space that isn’t a church and beautiful, I would recommend the garden.
The wedding garden at the Queens Botanical Garden was everything we could have asked for. It was beautiful. The staff was very helpful from booking until we walked down the isle. Very glad we decided to have our ceremony there!
My wedding this past weekend at Queens Botanical Gardens was everything we dreamed and envisioned it would be. The Gardens were still beautiful (could have been a concern in September,) the weather cooperated, our guests enjoyed the time to visit and wander through the pathways while the photographs were being taken after the ceremony. Ebony and the staff made sure that everything was in place and on schedule, for both the rehearsal the day before and for the ceremony. We couldn’t be happier with our choice to host this life-event at QBG. Thank you so much for your professionalism and courtesy through every step of the planning process and the final result.
I had a wonderful wedding day at the Queens botanical gardens. It was probably the hottest day of the year but it went extremely smooth with the help of Ebony Wiggins which couldn't have made it any easier on us. I totally recommend this as your wedding site, or any other events you may have.
I had my wedding reception at the Queens Botanical Garden in June 2017. I had my cocktail hour on the terrace outside the visitor's building, and the main reception under a tent in the cherry circle. It was wonderful working with Ebony. She was so helpful throughout the whole process and was there on the day to make sure things ran smoothly. The garden itself is so beautiful and provided the perfect backdrop for our wedding. And seriously, you cannot beat the price compared to other venues in NYC. I highly recommend QBG!
We loved our June ceremony and Ebony made booking and the day-of coordination very easy and fun. The venue itself is beautiful and perfect for a group of 80-100 guests.
The outdoor Terrace at Queens Botanical Garden was the absolute perfect location to host our reception/sangeet (150 guests) in Flushing, Queens.
Ebony provided stellar service from our initial contact (ten months before the event) thru to the evening of our event. We must have exchanged 1,000 emails with thoughts, questions, and inquiries and Ebony always responded quickly while accommodating as many of our unusual requests! Additionally, she was fine with scheduling over five site visits with our vendors to address any questions or concerns for our event (she even attending each meeting herself and worked with many of our vendor’s specific needs). Furthermore, many of our vendors (DJ, food, bar, tables/chairs, lighting, etc.) came in in at different times for drop-offs/pickups but Ebony did her best to work with us to make it all work! She also assisted us in securing 5 wait staff and a bartender two weeks before the event (we were impressed by the service they provided). What a team player!
The garden and grounds were clean and manicured to perfection when we all arrived for the event. Having a parking lot just two blocks down from the garden for our guests was a real advantage with such limited parking in Flushing.
I am so grateful for the QBG’s staff and Ebony as the manager for the extraordinary and special service they provided for all our friends and family. My wife and I would highly recommend working with the QBG staff and Ebony for your future wedding events!
Queens Botanical Garden was the absolute perfection location to host our wedding ceremony. Ebony provided stellar service from our initial contact thru to the day of our event. Because we were rained in, we'll have to return another day to do our wedding photography; which is terrific that I have that as an option. I am grateful to QBG and Ebony for the exceptional service.
not only is this venue absolutely gorgeous but ebony and crew is the best! so easy to work with and super fun! i am so happy we got to celebrate our special day here
We absolutely loved the Queens Botanical Garden! The garden space was so beautiful for the ceremony and all of our pictures came out wonderfully! Ebony was very helpful and easy to work with too!
My experience with the bonitical garden have been a stellar experience. Ebony is amazing! She was extremely helpful from beginning to end. Her great customer services, her ongoing support and her eagerness to ensure our event is perfect is a breath of fresh air. I recommend the Bonical Gardens to anyone who is planning an event.
From beginning to end this location was perfect for us. Our friends and family from New Jersey, Manhattan and Long Island were able to get here easily by car and public transport. We were looking for a 'park feel' without having to drive miles away or spend lots of money on the venue. We thought we wanted something small - afraid a bigger wedding would be costly but the QBG was so affordable we ended up having almost 100 people without breaking the bank. We fell in love with the whole venue as soon as we saw it and used it all - the wedding garden which could not be any more perfect, the terrace for cocktails, the auditorium and we set up a tent on the lawn.
The staff get 10 stars. We had no idea how chaotic the day of would be. Ebony and her team went above and beyond, working with our coordinator to make sure everything went smoothly. We had no idea before the big day that they could or would help as much as they did. On our wedding day, it was clear everything was in good hands and we were able to relax and enjoy our day. I would like to get married at the gardens every year if I could!
I was very impressed with how Claire continually answered all of my questions in a timely manner. I was planning this wedding from a different state, and the fact that the contact from QBG responded to my emails so rapidly was so helpful!
The day was a bit hot and a little cloudy, but it wasn't rainy, so I never got to see the indoor location. However, the outside location was gorgeous and flowering. They even let us go in early to set up, because there wasn't a party before us.
The only big problem is that I didn't see a good spot to stand before the wedding that was out of sight of the groom. I wound up standing behind some trees, but my groom later told me he had actually seen me. Ah well. Made for gorgeous photos.
Also, they provided tables, chairs, and a PA system at a very reasonable price, so there was no worry about needing to get another company to drop off rental chairs, etc. The indoor location meant I didn't have to rent a tent in the event of rain. Overall, this location worked out really well. Afterwords, me, my husband, and the photographers drove over to the unisphere for some gorgeous shots before the banquet, so the location was amazing.
This is a beautiful wedding venue in the spring/summer. It is extremely affordable and simple
