Please don’t go here, especially if you are soft spoken and don’t like confrontation. I read through a bunch of really amazing reviews online and brought my wedding dress in to see if they could hem my dress and put a bustle on it. When I walked in, the husband very bluntly directed me toward the dressing room to put the dress on. They have a $50 non refundable fee for consultation. The wife, Juliana, was very sweet, professional, and pinned my dress quickly. I went to the desk to set up appointments and, come to find out, they were going to charge me $290.00 to hem the dress. Additionally, they set the pick up date to November 20th when my wedding was December 15th and out of state. I felt uncomfortable with that price and the timeline, but didn’t feel like I could speak up without being verbally beaten down. My dress was such that I could get away without the hem if I wore taller shoes. The husband made me feel very small, uncomfortable, and was pressuring me to pay. I very much regretted walking into the shop. I was prepared to walk out $50 down due to how uncomfortable I felt and felt like I wasn’t even allowed to walk out with my dress if I didn’t. Juliana came to smooth things over and offered to just do the bustle for $75. I agreed and paid the full price ahead of time so that I would not walk out with nothing. The husband talked down to me, emphasizing no refunds.
I left and searched online until I found some other negative reviews detailing similar experiences. That confirmed for me that I had made a terrible mistake. I went back the next day, bringing some of my in laws with me because of how uncomfortable this place had made me feel. The husband was extremely rude to me once I asked for my dress back. I tried to ask for a refund anyway because I knew they hadn’t worked on my dress. I stopped that very quickly because the husband became very irritated and intimidating. I didn’t feel safe and just wanted to get my dress and leave at that point. I was fumbling for the ticket to get the dress back and couldn’t find it in my purse, so I pulled up a picture of the ticket on my phone. They tried to tell me that they wouldn’t give me my dress back without the physical ticket. My in laws threatened to call the police because of his demeanor and him threatening to withhold the dress. They did eventually bring my dress back down, but the husband was staring threateningly at my mother in law and was mumbling insults under his breath. She told me that she also felt unsafe. I do not believe that I am the first customer he has treated this way and desperately hope that something changes for this business or else that others will listen to what happened and find somewhere else to do business.
They were so unprofessional and rude that it was absolutely disgusting! Between the husband insulting the bride and her arguing about what she thought should be changed and not listening to what the bride wanted. Then, to get the wedding dress back, and it being done the exact opposite of what was wanted, agreed on and payed for. It took over 2 months to get the dress back, and she still didn't fix the straps or the bead work. Very poor customer service and doesn't even deserve 1 star. Overpriced with bad results!
They are so overwhelmed with work they overextend themselves. They ask you to pick up as far out as possible and then work on it the day of or the day before you need it. This doesn’t allow time for modifications if any are needed because sometimes they forget what you talked about during your consultation. She does a great job of remembering names and stories, but beyond that you are just the next job to make a buck.
I took my mother of the bride dress to Quick Stitch on September 17th for a November wedding. I was told to pick it up on November 3rd. I went to pick it up on that date and was told it was not ready, it had not been touched. The dress had been there almost 2 months. I was told to come back the next day, November 4th. I went back on November 4th. The dress was not altered to fit like it was suppose to. When I asked about the gaps in the back, which is an open back dress, I was told to use double sided tape for the straps and back which poked out…this was suppose to have been altered to fit me. I had no choice but to take the dress because I had to leave the next day for my daughter’s out of town wedding. Needless to say, I had to have one of the bridesmaids to make the dress fit me correctly by using safety pins!! Double sided tape would not work, there was too much of a gap. I paid over $100 for an alteration that was rushed and not completed. The only thing they altered on my dress was the length! I will never ever use them again!
I had no choice but to use Julianna as she altered my sons girlfriends prom dress. She was to take the scraps and make a pocket square and cover a bow tie I provided. Upon pickup from the dress shop, not Julianna herself, I was handed a baggie of long scrap and a flimsy bow attached to my original tie, no pocket square at all. The bow was barely hanging on by a thread literally, it fell off shortly after pictures were taken so he had no tie for prom itself. I contacted Julianna and she was nothing but rude. I told her I wanted a refund of the $25 I spent and my sons original bow tie back, she claimed that she didn’t have that, she throws the ties away. I explained she told me she would be “covering” the original in the material but obviously that wasn’t the case. She said to send back the tie and she would fix it with the original material. I did that and over a month later I got back my tie with a bow that was thrown on there and doesn’t even match. I again call Julianna and she was rude and ended up hanging up on me.
I will NEVER use her again and I will let everyone I know not to either. I would sooner have an ape at the zoo do alterations before I let Julianna touch my items again!
RUDE RUDE RUDE
I now have an open case with BBB because she is refusing to refund my money and give me price for the bowtie she ruined.
Juliana has a reputation in Wichita for being the best, and that is because she is. This woman can do anything. I have brought her requests that are truly insane, and she has always made them work. For my wedding she took one dress that I had thrifted from someone more than a foot taller than me and made it fit beautifully, and then I got very sick and ended up gaining 30lbs in a month. I then had to get a completely new dress which she worked her magic on so that it fit beautifully and comfortably! She also gave me several options for the lace appliqué on the chest until we found exactly what I wanted! I also just love this woman! 11 out of 5 stars!
I have a review for Quick Stitch in Wichita Kansas.
Brought my dress in 2 months ago to get sized, she was friendly and helpful. Ended up only adding a couple of buttons to the inside of the dress to hold the train. The end of September I went and tried it on. It was perfect. Left the dress to be sent to the dry cleaners and steamed due to it had been hanging for some time and I smoke in the house. Picked it up October 6th. I was told it didnt need cleaned, that she steamed the dress and it was fine. I trusted she knew what she was talking about. Oct 12th I took the dress out of the plastic it was wrapped in to try it on with a certain bra before the wedding Oct 13th. On my dress was blood stains all over the underneath side. I took pictures of the stains. I called her the next morning, she acted like it was no big deal. Told me to bring the dress in to have it cleaned. She didnt know how it could have happened. I stated that the stains weren't there when I brought it to her or when I tried the dress on for my fitting. It was no big deal to her that my dress was disgusting the day of my wedding. Update, she offered to refund the $67.00 something dollars I spent. When I asked her again what she was gonna do about getting the blood stains out of my dress that came from her business, she blocked me. I will be reporting her to the better business bureau and I will not recommend her to anyone.
Juliana was great to work with from the moment I walked into her shop to the final pick up of my wedding dress. She gave great advice and was very reassuring throughout my whole fitting process. Fortunately for me I only needed a small adjustment to the bustline and to have the bustle created. She fixed the dress top twice and made sure I was 100% happy and comfortable. Also her bustle was so simple and secure it only took a minute to change from ceremony to reception. I would absolutely recommend Quick Stitch to brides who want to look and feel their best.
