Ranch Events catered our wedding of about 100 people on Saturday, April 6th, 2013 and we would absolutely recommend them! Our catering manager was Sandy King, who is now part-time with the company, but if you can snag her as your manager, you w...ill be worry-free. Sandy is truly one of the best in the business, very professional, always nice, always helpful and proactive in reaching solutions. I noticed an earlier review that Sandy doesn't open or close her emails with a greeting....really? I have 50+ emails that say otherwise! On the day of our tasting, almost a year ago, we sat down with Sandy and tried just about everything Ranch had to offer. We had sat down with two caterers before Ranch and we had been underwhelmed with them...Ranch blew us away. The food was amazing, the prices were competitive, and that cake.....oh wow. We have a favorite bakery and had been considering them for our cake, but after we tasted cake by Ranch's bakery, we were SOLD. (Our cake was a huge hit at the wedding...we had the chocolate with chocolate chips and the marble.)
For dinner, we had a buffet of parmesan-tossed asparagus, twice-baked potatoes, baron of beef carved on site, and mediterranean chicken (cream cheese inside, wrapped with bacon...omg.) We had so many people come up to us at our wedding to tell us it was the best wedding food they have ever eaten....that is totally what you want to hear at your wedding!!! My aunt, who makes the best pot roast you will ever eat in your life, said it tasted like her roast beef....so good job, Ranch! My tables, chairs &highchairs were also perfectly set up just as I asked them to be.
Our bartender, Carl, was AWESOME. Carl, we love you! We had an open bar of wine, beer, and champagne for which we supplied all of the alcohol. Carl was fun and made conversation with everyone. Our servers were Sonny, Jorge, and there were two other ladies whose names escape me, but all were AWESOME and on point the whole night. My day of coordinator said they helped her all day, and Jorge even made sure my train looked good right before I walked down the aisle. They truly went above and beyond and I hope management knows they have a really great team in those 5. They brought my husband and me a plate full of hors d'oeuvres while we were taking pictures while everyone else was at the cocktail hour...MUCH appreciated!!! We were so hungry at that point! (Also they were delicious...we chose mini turkey pot pies, filet mignon skewers, and bacon wrapped shrimp......mmm my mouth is watering!)
I wasn't made aware of this until after my wedding (I have the best bridal party ever that knew to shield me from any bad news that day!), but apparently, our cake fell apart on the way to the wedding in the truck! We had flower petals on the front of our cake that came together to make one big flower. I don't know the name of the girl who came to fix it, but she came to make it perfect, and she told Carl, the bartender, who told my husband, that it looked even better than before. What if Ranch didn't have excellent communication? What if no one thought it important enough to come fix it? BIG PROPS to Ranch for fixing what would have been a catastrophic wedding-day ruiner.
There were some MINOR snags at the wedding that I do need to point out...when it came time to cut our cake, they had not placed a cake cutter next to the cake. (I do not have enough space to complete my review, read my review on Yelp for Ranch events on Quivira!
