Joey is very nice and responsive. Good price for the quality. We had a zoom meeting the week before the wedding where we went over the timeline and what was to be played/not played. Wedding comes and luckily no one told me because he had gotten into a wreck on the way to the venue and was a little late. I never noticed because I didn’t have my phone and didn’t know the time. I’m giving him grace because I don’t know the extent of the wreck and I’m sure he was frantic getting there. The ceremony went great until it was time for our grand entrance and first dance. Our first dance was supposed to be immediately after the grand entrance and then the dinner blessing after the dance. Joey skipped over our first dance, announced the dinner blessing (realized he missed our dance), then announced our dance and we went after that. I wasn’t happy about that but everyone makes mistakes. Then comes the reception. I had spent hours making the reception playlist and had told him please play the songs from the list. They had been proofed by myself for being clean and child appropriate (we had 4 children under the age of 6). 3 songs into the reception he plays an explicit song by nicki minaj and another explicit song (I don’t remember which one). I was in the bathroom during both of those songs and could hear it in the background. I went up to him afterward and reminded him I wanted clean songs and about the playlist and he had said sorry. I wasn’t happy by this point, and after I said something he switched to my playlist. Other than those two things he was great. I would still recommend him if he can change from the criticism. Communication 10/10, performance 6/10 for the two things I listed.

Joey was great to work with! He was able to provide a great mix of Spanish and English music, as we requested, and stayed on top of all of the requested songs throughout the wedding. He was also great with taking requests as they happened and making the entire night flow. Would definitely recommend!

Despite low guest numbers and sole unfortunate accidents joey kept the party going!!

In the beginning I had high hopes for this DJ from his reviews online. Talking to him via email and web from the day of hire, I was excited and felt like he was going to be a great fit for our wedding. In the months leading up to the wedding I reached out to him multiple times and did not hear back. We sent him multiple payments and tried to reach out to him but still got no responses. After multiple attempts, about a month before the wedding, we heard back, and had a meeting via video chat that was also almost impossible to schedule with him. At that point things again seemed fine. We set a timeline, which we went over via video chat. The timeline was discussed and went over all the songs requests. The timeline was issued to both me and my wife, as the DJ had a copy as well. Everything was good to go at that moment, or so we thought. The day of wedding during the end of our ceremony, his equipment over heated and was unable to play our exit song. We walked back up the isle with no music, which was extremely disappointing. During the reception he played the wrong song for my daddy daughter dance, which was supposed to be the most memorable time on the night. Throughout the night, he was reminded of the timeline by my mom and was needed to be told when to start speeches and his response was, he was still eating. Even though it was in the timeline we created together. He strayed from the timeline all night, which was not a part of the timeline. He kept talking over his music which was hard for anyone to hear what he was announcing. All in all, if you are looking for someone to DJ and MC at your wedding, I would not pick him. The DJ did do a good at open dance floor music but other than that, it was very difficult and disappointing to deal with.
