Kelli and her team at Red Door Event and Design helped us with our daughters wedding. From the first phone call I felt I didn't need to do anything. After telling Kelli what was wanted she immediately took us to the most beautiful venue and made it happen. From the flowers to music to food and design she offered us options and made sure everything went as planned. She and her team was there the entire day making sure everyone was taken care of. Thanks Kelli once again for all you do to make that special day so easy.
My husband and I recently had a recommitment ceremony. After attending various Red Door weddings, both large scale as well as small, I was confident that the ladies would be able to accommodate what we were looking for. I was beyond impressed at their flexibility, creativity, and ability to work within my budget while still creating the look we wanted! We could not have been happier!
We hired Red Door for our wedding day coordination as well as for our flowers and decor. We wanted our wedding to have a DIY feel that incorporated lots of personal touches from family without family having to put in too much of the leg work the day of. Red Door was the perfect vendor for this. They willingly took on box after box of random family items- vases, boxes, containers, antlers, trays, etc., tons of fabric scraps and swatches, embroidery hoops, and over 100 fabric flowers we made and incorporated them into every aspect of the decor and truly made our vision come to reality. We gave Red Door some freedom with the flowers, as we wanted all the arrangements and bouquets to look handpicked but full of color and texture. We could not have been happier with how everything turned out and the backdrop they created made for some breathtaking photos. There is never a mention of our wedding that isn't accompanied by a compliment on beauty of the floral arrangements Red Door created for us.
On the Coordination side of things Red Door made sure everything flowed despite the crazy number of problems that popped up in the days prior to and the day of the wedding. We had several productive meetings prior to the wedding to hammer out necessary details, they were readily available by phone, email and text, and we felt very confident that all would be in good hands on the big day. They facilitated our rehearsal, corralled stray guests, dealt with time delays, broken glass frames, weather issues (CRAZY WIND!), and cleaned up everything at the end of the day. They introduced us to our venue, Stony Point Hall, and our caterers, Culinaria- two other vendors we can't recommend highly enough! LOVED our experience with Red Door!
Daughters are often their father's princesses, and when it comes time to hand a daughter to another man, a father's role can be relegated to two things: paying the bills and giving the bride away. However, in the case of our daughter's wedding, Red Door Event & Design allowed me to actively participate. I'm so very grateful for this.
From our first dealings with Red Door, I realized that my only daughter's wedding was in good hands. From that point through the last notes of the wedding reception, I didn't worry about the outcome. Throughout the months of planning, whenever an issue might arise, the Red Door staff handled it professionally and competently.
While many brides want a fairytale wedding, my daughter and future son-in-law built their wedding around a superhero theme. Time after time, we could also apply the term "superhero" to Red Door. They took the superhero theme and ran with it, from guiding the selection of the venue, designing the ceremony and reception at a historic mansion, and leading us through catering choices.
So, when it comes to this father of the bride and how I spell relief, it's R-e-d D-o-o-r.
My husband and I chose to use Red Door Events several years ago for a November wedding. I wanted absolutely no white flowers and just the vibrant colors of fall: oranges, purples, browns, rosy reds. Ashley did an amazing job in selecting a lush variety of colors and textures for my bouquets as well as the floral accents at the end of each church pew. She was efficient, had an extensive knowledge of flowers, and was completely understanding of my needs. I was never stressed because of flowers. On top of that, Ashley also sang a duet with her husband during the ceremony...above and beyond what anyone should ask of their vendor! Red Door Events was essential behind-the-scenes on our wedding day so that it went off without a hitch!
Red Door helped make my daughter's wedding day absolutely perfect. We planned the wedding across three states -- The bride and wedding were in Massachusetts, mom in the Midwest and Red Door in Kansas. Ashley did an amazing job of coordinating all aspects of the wedding including the venue, linens, flowers, caterer and hotel accommodations.
When friends ask me for suggestions about planning a wedding, I would tell them to hire an experienced event planner -- Red Door in particular. An event planner is essential when planning a wedding; we were so much more relaxed and knew everything would be perfect.
Ashley also designed the flowers for the bridal party and family as well as the decorations around the mansion where the wedding and reception were held. They were elegant, magnificent works of art. She incorporated crystals and family mementos in memory of family members into the bride's bouquet. It was perfect.
Ashley and Red Door were amazing. We could not have done it without you. Thank you!
Frankly, I'm not sure what I would have done without Ashley and Red Door Event & Design. I was a wreck of a bride dealing with very serious illnesses of immediate family members, a tight budget, and a new job, all while planning an out-of-town wedding. Ashley was patient with me and had impeccable recommendations for vendors. Everything she suggested was spot on--caterer, photographers, venues, music, invitations, etc. I saved so much time by just going to Ashley's first recommendation--always within my budget and always exactly what I wanted. And the flowers? I was blown away. She took what I had in my head and made it happen without me having to lift a finger. They cut out expenses by knowing their vendors and knowing what was available locally. This isn't a "hold your hand and recreate J-Lo in The Wedding Planner" type of service, but I don't think there is anyone out there who does Lawrence weddings better.
Red Door was amazing! I was planning a wedding long distance and they coordinated vendor meetings extremely efficiently which took loads of stress off of me.
Ashley also went above and beyond when the seamstress making our bridesmaids' dresses ended up ill unable to finish them. Ashley stepped in and finished them herself the night before the wedding! Now that's service!
My wedding flower dreams came true because of the talent at Red Door. I had previously worked with Ashley and Kelli at another florist and knew that they could pull off any look! I can still remember the moment i walked out and saw the flowers for the first time! It was one of my most favorite parts of my whole wedding day. The flowers were very fresh, and were exactly what we had talked about. Ashley and Kelli are super easy to work with. The are hard workers too. I am so so glad i used Red Door for our wedding!
My husband and I could not have been more thrilled with Red Door Event & Design. The ladies there are helpful, organized, and dedicated to ensuring that you have the perfect day. They are consummate professionals, and made sure that we knew all of our options so we could have exactly what we wanted. They were also extremely respectful of our budget, which was much appreciated. I would recommend them to anyone.
My husband and I had a small ceremony before moving abroad due to his service in the military, but Ashley from Red Door helped me plan a fantastic family event from South Korea. In addition to planning the event from across the world, there were extra challenges like construction to the wedding venue and multiple branches of family and some RSVP snafus that Ashley took completely in stride, keeping everything calm and on track.
Red Door provided flowers, tables/settings and helped coordinate with the caterers, bartenders and the venue. When a dozen people showed up who hadn't RSVPd, she simply found another table and kept the event rolling.
Ashley was fantastic with letting the event be unique and meaningful to us- we had it in an old silent movie theatre, socialized with the guests before the event (not typical), didn't have an explicit wedding party (more many friends with roles to play) and added in some less common traditions (having a list of the most special women in my life bring a rose up during the ceremony to form my bouquet) that made it more challenging for her but made the event truly beautiful. Many family members remarked that they'd never been to a wedding like it but were so charmed that we'd been able to make it a day that truly fit us.
As we were trying to keep the wedding to a minimum budget at first I was apprehensive about spending money on a coordinator, but in retrospect, Red Door was by far the best money we spent. I'd highly recommend them!
We hired Red Door Event and Design for both our floral design and event production.
Ashley at Red Door helped me coordinate every aspect of my wedding, offered expert (and kind) advice each step of the way, and honestly gave me my perfect day. "Wedding Planner" is not a sufficient enough title for the kind of work that Red Door does. They are Project Managers, Crisis Managers, Therapists, Contract Negotiators, and so much more. Ashley got me through the severe illness of my father-in-law, the death of a friend, some own bumps in my own health, and family issues on the personal side. On the wedding side, she helped me reign in my desires to match my budget (a starting guest list of 275 guests--75 of them children!!), all the while making me feel like the ideas were mine. Most importantly, though, she didn't let me compromise on the things that she knew were really important to me.
In the week before the wedding, I was calm because there really was nothing left to do. It was a beautiful, beautiful thing. My mom had someone ask her for tips on planning their daughter's wedding, and she said, "Hire a GOOD event producer. It's the best thing you can do." And it really, really is.
And the flowers! Oh, the flowers! My bouquet was beyond my wildest dream. I know it's a cliche, but it was also the truth in my case. I wanted tulips, all things red and purple, and elegant. We were married in an old mansion with beautiful chandeliers. Ashley brought in crystals to many of the arrangements--including my bouquet. And there were tulips everywhere. It really was perfect.
In the end, we had the most elegant superhero wedding one could ever imagine. Thank you so much, Ashley and Red Door for giving us everything we could have ever dreamed of.
I would absolutely recommend Red Door Event and design to any bride looking for wedding planning and decor. Kelli was incredibly professional, and made our wedding go very smoothly.
I had my wedding in Kansas in May and had planned to have my reception outside. Well, being that it was in Kansas there was a 50% chance of rain the whole week before the big day. Kelli was so supportive and helpful and made me confident that no matter what the weather I'd have a perfect day.
Well the weather turned out great, and Red Door's decor was stunning. They made sure everything went smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a single thing. Kelli took all of my opinions and ideas and made them reality, all while staying on budget. I can't recommend Red Door enough, they gave me a perfect wedding!
Ashley was an excellent florist. Despite my having changed things at the last minute and having a very unique vision for my big day, she was able to bring it to life and pull it all together. I requested a hand made ophelia feather bouquet (not easy to find) but she made it happen! Our wedding came out absolutely beautiful. She also put the finishing touches on our cake as well which pulled the whole thing together. Ashley's team was professional and organized on the day of my wedding. By the time I arrived everything was beautifully designed and absolutely perfect. At the end of the night they came and broke everything down and we didn't have to lift a finger. Thank you Ashley for everything
My daughter's wedding theme was Art Nouveau. As an art history student, she based her colors (sapphire blue and hunter green) on Whistler's Peacock Room, created in the 1920s. Her husband is an English Lit graduate. For the bouquets, Red Door created beautiful paper flowers out of discarded book pages and intermixed them with real flowers (hydrangeas, calla lillies, etc.) and small peacock feathers. The flower girl gave out paper flowers as she moved down the aisle. The Chuppah had small lights and was decorated with trailing paper flowers. Table design included ornamental "trees," vintage books and candles -- book pages floated from the trees. It was magical, and I know it took lots of work and creativity to capture the period in the floral design. So beautiful . . .
I would recommend Red Door Events and Design to anyone, whether you know exactly what you want or you have no clue where to begin planning your wedding they can help you! Whatever the cost day of the wedding planning is worth it, you and your mom will enjoy the wedding and feel like guests rather than stressed hostesses. Ashley Winters had amazing ideas and really made my dream wedding possible. It far exceeded what I envisioned. Our guests had only the best things to say about the decor and the bridal party really appreciated Ashley's help and direction throughout the weekend. I used all of the vendors she recommended and loved them!
My husband and I were not sure that we wanted to hire a wedding planner, but after meeting with Kelli, it was a no-brainer. Kelli helped us with every aspect of wedding planning, and offered suggestions on everything from decor to schedule to logistics. She fought several battles with our reception site and took care of everything we needed. We also had a problem with our cake, and she contacted that vendor after the fact on our behalf. Red Door did all of our decor and flowers; the venue looked amazing and the flowers were absolutely to die for; in fact, the woman who preserved my bouquet said it was the most unique arrangement she had ever seen (and she has been preserving bouquets for 30 years!). Kelli ran the wedding day perfectly, and everyone was able to relax and enjoy the party without any stress. It was an amazing day, and it would not have been such a success without Kelli and Red Door.
Ashley did a fantastic job helping me coordinate the wedding from Korea- she was great at stepping in and filling the gaps on the things I had most trouble with (like calling other vendors during business hours) but letting me handle the things it was important for me to do personally. She wrangled rentals (even brokering a deal with the next day wedding to save us both money), gorgeous flowers, a dozen-odd kidlets participating in the wedding and an overall atmosphere that was to die for.
The day of I found out we had a few major gaps- 24 extra guests who hadn't RSVPed among them, and Ashley solved every problem with grace and courtesy. I was so incredibly happy she was there to keep me from stressing out and I got to just sit back and enjoy a beautifully crafted day. Before our event I thought wedding planners/coordinators were really a luxury that nobody should spring for, but after even mid-sized event I can't disagree more- everyone should add this little cost to give you complete peace of mind on your special day. I couldn't recommend Red Door highly enough!
We used Red Door Event & Design for everything at our summer wedding in Lawrence, Kansas - flowers & event planning. They did WONDERFUL work! I was planning our wedding in Lawrence, Kansas from Scottsdale, AZ and they really catered to me as an out of town bride, planning meetings around my scheduled visits, etc. Ashley and Kelli are true professionals and so incredibly talented. They turned my visions for my big day into the most beautiful and perfectly pulled together event! Everything from flowers, escort cards and menus to the flow of the ceremony and reception came together amazingly. Hiring Red Door was truly the best decision I could have made. If you want to be able to sit back and enjoy your wedding day, knowing that everything will be taken care of - HIRE RED DOOR! They even sent us our signed marriage certificate in the mail after the wedding - it was in my mailbox after my honeymoon. Thanks Ashley, Kelli and team..you are the best!!!

I used Red Door Events to plan my Lawrence, KS wedding from Los Angeles. I dealt mostly with Ashley, who was amazing and pulled everything together for me while I was across the country. It thunder stormed on the morning of my wedding, but was it was sunny and perfect during the ceremony and reception. Ashley and Kelli were quick to work around the rain and still had everything put together on time. I highly recommend them! The only reason I'm giving a four star rating and not 5 is that a few minor requests I had (steaming the table cloths and adding string lights to the dance area) weren't addressed. Other than that, Red Door catered to my every need. They are GREAT to work with.
Kelli and Ashley with Red Door are wonderful to work with. Kelli was my primary coordinator, and she made me feel at ease whenever I was getting stressed. She had great ideas, and was able to create my vision on our wedding day. She was an advocate for me when my parents tried to change some details, and it was very clear that she was there for me and my husband. She seemed to be everywhere at all times the day of our wedding, and due to her expertise, we were able get through the day incredibly smoothly. The flowers she designed for me were also gorgeous. I had so many compliments from family and guests about how great our wedding was, and I have to admit, without Red Door, our wedding would not have been as stunning as it was.
