About this vendor
Endless Possibilities
Only minutes from Historic Downtown Savannah is Red Gate Farms, home to three distinct venues that radiate southern charm – the traditional Barn, the industrial chic Grainery, and the Southern Belle Tower. Around the venues and throughout the property you’ll find centuries-old Live Oaks veiled in Spanish Moss, majestic horses grazing lush paddocks, and glistening spring-fed lakes.
The Barn’s traditional red doors, original stables, warm twinkle lights, and vintage furnishings are creatively incorporated into each event giving the venue a special kind of authenticity. The Grainery provides guests with breathtaking views of the neighboring lake, green fields, and mature trees dotting the surrounding landscape. The Belle Tower is a beautiful Southern-style home perfect for small, intimate weddings.
Once you have picked your venue, you will meet with your Red Gate Client Manager for two planning sessions – the Kickstart and the Final Review, both of which are included in your venue fee. At the Kickstart, you will receive your personalized wedding map which will include a curated list of preferred vendors handpicked to match your personal taste, style, and budget. This map will guide you to your final destination, Your Wedding Day. Your first stop is a personal introduction to your matched vendors ensuring you have the best team Savannah has to offer. Your next stop is the Final Review, where you will confirm all the little details and be provided with a diagram of the event - a wonderful tool that will help with seating arrangements and getting a visual of the space before your special day. If you are looking for a venue that can be tailored to you with beautiful Live Oak Trees veiled in Spanish Moss, Southern Charm, and Hospitality, you have found the place you have always imagined - Red Gate Farms.

Everyone at Red Gate was so wonderful and helpful! Special shout out to PJ for being there for us throughout the entire planning process and making sure our day was perfect!
We recently got married at Red Gate at the Grainery. The venue was incredibly gorgeous and the staff was super helpful with planning and day of. Our guest couldn't get over the scenery and told us how much they loved the oak tree we got married under. Joyce and Kelly were our day of coordinators and they were AWESOME! If you're looking for a beautiful outdoor ceremony with traditional Savannah looks, this is the Venue for you!
We loved our wedding at Red Gate! They were extremely helpful in the pre-wedding planning phase to help us find preferred vendors that fit all of our needs, and the wedding turned out exactly how we wanted. So glad we went with Red Gate!
Any questions?
Everything went so smoothly. We did a quick 5 month engagement and PJ was able to get us hooked up with all of the wonderful vendors that were able to pull of our ceremony. There were so many rentals in house that would add just the right touch of ambiance. We rented hanging lanterns, a hexagon arch, and a cocktail hour pony. And the team was so helpful and nice. I could not have asked for a better venue planning experience.
Our special day was March 9th and I am so glad that my husband and I picked Red Gate ! We met with Melanie a year before and she was so kind. She took the time to sit down with us before we explored the property and answered any questions we had. After we signed the contact we were immediately introduced to PJ. He was also wonderful and was always there whenever we needed help or had questions. It is so important to pick a venue that also has a great team to support you. I promise you that you will not regret it. I was stressed a few months leading up to the wedding but PJ reassured me that everything was going to be okay and they were there to support us. Book with Red Gate asap!!!!! You will not regret it
Our wedding at The Grainery was an absolute dream. This industrial chic venue, born from a former storehouse, effortlessly combines history with contemporary elegance. The stunning renovations created a unique atmosphere that set it apart from other venues in Savannah. The Grainery provided a picturesque backdrop that added a touch of magic to our special day. The venue's commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the landscape while offering a sophisticated event space is truly remarkable. The Grainery's team impressed us with their professionalism and dedication, ensuring a seamless and stress-free experience from planning to execution. PJ and Melanie were amazing! Their enthusiasm and commitment to creating lasting memories were evident throughout.
Red Gate Farms wasnt just an amazing location to have our wedding, they were amazing people to work with. During our initial meeting with PJ, our venue coordinator, he took the time to get to know us and understand the vision we wanted for our wedding. He then connected us with multiple vendors that he thought would best match with our ideal design, even sending introductory emails to everyone to facilitate the conversation. This made the initial, and one of the most daunting parts, of wedding planning super simple and easy! Throughout the rest of the process he was professional, responsive, and fun to work with. The venue itself was nothing short of a dream! We had our ceremony and reception at The Grainery and the natural majesty of the tree was the everything we dreamed of as a backdrop for our day. The ability to have the reception and ceremony all at the same site also made the day flow smoothly keeping everyone in the moment and enjoying their time. Red Gate Farms was an amazing venue and we couldnt be happier with our decision to have our wedding there.
If you want all your best friends who have all already had weddings to tell you that you "WON" weddings and countless other guests to tell you how you had the most beautiful, fun wedding ever then book Red Gate Fatms. It was truly the wedding of our dreams! I will go into detail below but in summary RGF delivers in every way you could hope for:
-Outside scenery is even more gorgeous than in the pictures
-Indoor spaces are equally gorgeous and romantic (which is important in its own right, but especially so if weather moves your ceremony inside)
-Location is wildly close to downtown Savannah (10 min)
-INCREDIBLE VENUE TEAM: Melanie, PJ & Kyle are the most genuine, helpful, kind , informative, lovely people you could hope for and they deliver in ways you haven't even thought of yet
-Probably the most flexible venue to work with
The only barrier for some people is going to be the venue fee, regardless of what's included (which is a LOT) and at first glance it can seem a bit high. BUT before you write it off make sure you consider the following:
- Bar pricing is a FRACTION of most other places. We had around 120 ppl, open bar with Call liquors (think Tito's grade liquors). The savings on the bar bill vs what we would've spent elsewhere equated to cutting the venue fee in half for us. Oh and they only charge you like $10 or something for those under 21 (a lot of places charge you the bar fee based on guest count even for kids)
-All the twinkle and cafe lighting in the venues is included. I dreamed of having that kind of lighting and it is not cheap to have done at a venue that doesn't have it
- Ceremony Seating, Reception Tables and chairs, and white table linens were included. And a few pub tables as well
- The.reception venues have so much character so you don't need a ton to make it a show stopper.
- They also offer a lot of decor rentals at or below market price, and you save a ton of money bc there is not delivery or setup fees (both are pricey and can double the rental rate). I could not believe how inexpensive it was to add (5) farmhouse tables for our head table. And PJ even let us use some of the round tables we wouldn't be using inside bc of the head table, outside for cocktail hour so that older guests could sit comfortably
- The most game changing inclusion you never realized how badly you needed but absolutely do? THe kickoff meeting. I am completely serious and here's why: PJ talks with you, asking a bunch of questions, learning about you, your vision, budget etc. Then he recommends 2-3 vendors he thinks will vibe with you, fit budget, vision etc. And he is spot on. ALL OF OUR VENDORS EXCEEDED our expectations. We hired all the vendors he recommended except two (Hair &MUA; and photobooth) and both of those vendors had worked with RGF before, just weren't a part of their preferred vendor list. On top of each vendor kicking ass, they were genuinely really lovely people and we were beyond thrilled. If you are extremely OCD and analytical the way I am, this is invaluable. I can't imagine how much more time I would've spent researching, interviewing and stressing over selecting vendors if we had to find them on our own, if PJ had just sent me a list of all their preferred vendors or if we had interviewed his recommendations and not liked them.
Other things we loved that I haven't already mentioned:
- Ok so I mentioned location but this was so important to me. I did not want people driving long distances after drinking to get to accomodations which eliminates a lot of outside venues especially barn venues. Also with it's proximity to downtown Savannah, ubers/Lyfts were super cheap and easy to come by. Because of this, we didn't feel the need to provide transportation which is great bc it really wasn't in the budget for us. And I really loved that you could leave vehicles there overnight until 11am or noon (can't remember which) This in addition to the availability and affordability of getting Ubers made me feel like everyone had responsible options.
- I've never heard of another venue that will let you decide to move your ceremony inside up until an hour before your ceremony time. Most make you decide that morning. For me that wouldve been a disaster bc it was literally not supposed to rain at all and then about 2 hours before clouds started coming in and with my naturally curly hair, wedding in the rain was not an option. That's a straight haired girls game.. Everything outside was already setup, and all the reception tables inside were as well. An hour before we made the call to move it inside and they flipped the inside for the ceremony and then flipped again for the reception and it didn't cost us anything. Because the Barn is so beautiful our ceremony was still gorgeous and as soon as I turned the corner to walk down the aisle any disappointment I had moving it inside melted away and I got total David & Patrick-Wedding on Schitts Creek- vibes. It was so intimate and magical because of the lighting, honestly I think it was even better than having it outside. The photographer was able to get video of the outside setup for ceremony and cocktail hour which i was so happy about bc I did love it as well.
- They let us bring in our own wedding cake & desserts. I didn't care about spending a lot on a wedding cake and my mom happens to be super talented at it so with the signing of the waiver ( and my mom's hard work) it was so!
- They let me visit the venue like 4 or five times. I'm very visual, OCD and ended up having a good amount of DIY. As the details were coming together, I needed to get measurements and get a feel for where everything was going to go. They were so patient with me
- The getting ready rooms are to die for.
- They last minute let me rent an additional hour of setting up time bc I was nervous it wouldn't all get done in time and boy am I glad they did.
This is the greatest hits of why we adore RGF but there is so much more. We loved everything about our wedding and legitimately had no complaints, which I think is rare. The venue and the team are amazing and you can't go wrong.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk
We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding at the barn at Red Gate. They really have the process down to a science and are well equipped to help make the day a success. From excellent vendor recommendations to streamlined communication and of course, absolutely stunning spaces, we felt well aware of next steps and prepared for the day all along the way. That’s quite an accomplishment considering the magnitude of the event!

Alexis, thank you so much for your positive review and for putting your trust in our team. We are happy to hear that choosing Red Gate Farms as your wedding venue was a successful experience and that you felt ready for the day. We are committ...
ed to providing the best for our clients, and we are glad that this was reflected in your day. We wish you many years of happiness -- cheers to you and Adam!
We just had our wedding at The Grainery on 4/16/2023 and everything was phenomenal! I found Red Gate late 2021 and knew that's where we wanted to celebrate but we had to shop around Savannah a bit first. I'm happy we looked at other options because it made me appreciate all Red Gate has to offer even more! We started off talking with Melanie who was so quick to respond and incredibly helpful before we even had a tour or anything. From there PJ became our client manager and he was fantastic.
He sent out all of the first emails to different vendors after we made our deposit and walked us through all of our options. All of the basics - food, music, photography, but also other options like photo booths, getaway cars and things like that! Any time we hit a roadblock with vendors (wedding season can be crazy in savannah!) he would help us with communication again. Any time we weren't sure what we needed to be doing he would help point us in the right direction. Throughout the planning process he updated us on new options for music and different wedding coordinators he met and thought we'd like.
Outside of the incredible staff, the venue is obviously stunning. At the grainery we had a backup rain option, which we almost needed but luckily the rain held off a bit. The setup for everything was very easy to customize as far as how the chairs were set up for the ceremony and where the bar was. They have so many options for rented decor which was really nice as well! We got ready in the Belle Tower and my dad wound up arriving from out of town hours earlier than he needed to and they let him come inside out of the heat and relax which meant a lot to me. I'm sure at times I was, but I never felt in the way getting ready here. Really, I could go on forever about how happy we are with Red Gate. Everyone involved helped make it the best day of my life! :)

Katie, thank you so much for your raving review, and for choosing Red Gate Farms as your wedding venue. We want to assure you that you were never getting in the way, and it was such an honor to work with you and to help match you with the perfe...
ct vendors and additions for your event. We are thrilled that you had such positive experiences with both the venue and Melanie and PJ. We will be sure to sing your praises to them both. And what luck it was that the rain held off for you two to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony. We wish you many years of happiness -- cheers to you and Patrick!
My wife and I had been to a few different venues when we were first looking, but as soon as we saw Red Gate we knew it was the right choice. We went with the Grainery location. It was the perfect setting with both indoor and outdoor options, and the carriage was the absolute perfect touch. The whole experience was overall very good, and my guests absolutely loved it. There are some limitations on which vendors you can use (particularly catering), which can make things a little stressful during the planning stages, but ultimately everyone we ended up using worked out well. I do wish we could have had the Belle Tower for longer for preparations and the reception area for later into the evening because everyone was having a great time, but these are pretty minor compared to the overall good experience. All in all we have no regrets in choosing Red Gate!

Absolutely gorgeous venue in the barn. Staff was very helpful. Loved the idea that there was a plan in place in case of rain.

Brace yourself.. This review is not pretty!! We toured Red Gate in January of 2022 and immediately fell in love with the barn. We signed the contract and paid in full for the venue for our January 2023 wedding! As excited as we were, we did not stop and read the fine print (OUR FAULT COMPLETLY). After signing the contract we were informed all of our venders had to be licensed and insured (NO BIGGY). Which was not an issue. However, finding one affordable was! They provided a list of "preferred vendors" which their prices were astronomical. We tried to contact Melanie several times with no avail. The manager PJ was also not easy to get in contact with. We decided then that we would have our ceremony there (since we could not get a refund of any sort) and have our reception elsewhere. Which ended up saving us almost $12,000. It was almost as if when we decided and advised Red Gate that we were not giving them any more money that they decided to place us on the bottom of their priority list. They were very eager to take our money but not eager to assist us any further. If we had questions or needed assistance it took several days to get a response. Now almost three weeks after our wedding, we received an email from them asking us to share our pictures. However, in the beginning of the email when our names were addressed my husbands name was not even his name. They claim to be a "family owned business" however, they do not act as such. As beautiful as a place this venue truly is. PLEASE PLEASE explore other options. Savannah has soooo many other options to pick from. Do your research, read the contract, contact vendors before making any big decision. This entire place is nothing but a monopoly scheme.

Ashley, thank you for your feedback. Client satisfaction is a top priority, and we strive to make every wedding, large or small, a wonderful experience, and we want all of our clients and guests to feel special. With that, I want to start by ad...
dressing our mistake with your husband’s name, it was a human error, and we sincerely apologize. We also want to express that you were never at the bottom of our priority list. After booking, we were notified that your wedding budget had been reduced, and you were opting for a ceremony only. Aside from the ceremony location and layout, our additional advising would center on vendors and additions to the ceremony. When you explained that the budget would not allow for our preferred vendors or any more expenditures, mentioning extras to add to your ceremony seemed pushy on our part, as we always want people to feel like we are respecting their wishes and their set budget.
Touching on vendor selections, we only allow full-service vendors and established professionals in the industry on our list. We have taken a great deal of time to perfect our preferred vendor list, and they are tried and true, ensuring the most reliability for events hosted at Red Gate Farms. We have a varied price range for all our vendors, from budget-friendly to high-end, and we hold them to high standards. There may be more cost-efficient options for some without the same standards and service level. We allow our clients to hire vendors outside our list but require all vendors to be licensed and insured. As outlined in our contracts, we also do not allow self-catering or drop-and-go food services. We strive to be very transparent in wedding costs and provide a budget calculator in the initial meeting prior to booking. We will review our budget calculator and contracts to see where we can improve our transparency.
We take client communication seriously and continuously monitor and evaluate response times. We regret your difficulty reaching someone and understand how frustrating this can be. We want to ensure we can be easily reached by those who may not be able to communicate during the week, and we offer contact after hours and on weekends, though by appointment only. We are always looking for ways to improve, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention and taking the time to provide us with feedback.
We wish you and Wyatt many years of happiness!
Red Gate was a gem!! We shopped around just a little before we stumbled into RG, and we knew. SAV was a destination wedding for us. The venue is gorgeous as you will see in the pictures - the moss oak trees, the open fields, the rustic reception setting - exactly as pictured and a charming setting! What set them apart was the people. Melanie was a delight to meet as she showed the property, and she then handed us off to PJ. PJ is the MAN!! Handled all my crazy ideas, questions, requests, and he let us incorporate some fun details that really brought the party to life and reflected "us" as a couple. The set up at the Grainery, the bar, all the details came together because of the mindfulness and care of PJ - can't thank you enough, Red Gate team!!

PJ and Melanie, thank y’all so much for helping me with anything I needed and fulfilling our pony request :). Communication was perfect. Everyone had such a great time. 10/10!!!!

Red Gate Farms Wedding Team
RED GATE WAS AMZING!!!! Their team was SO helpful during the entire year of planning. From helping to find vendors to finalizing the day a month before. It was so easy and we had such a great time. No issues occurred because we hired the best. Thanks again to the entire team at Red Gate Farms for having us and our families. We are still blown away by how easy it was and when it all came together it was just perfect. 12/10 recommend getting married at Red Gate.
We are so pleased that we chose The Grainery at Red Gate Farms for our wedding venue. The proximity to downtown Savannah was perfect, and the beautiful property felt like home. Our dreams came true when we were married beneath the branches of a moss-covered live oak tree! Also, the carriage ride over from the Belle Tower gave the Stepfather of the Bride an opportunity to have a special moment before the Father of the Bride walked her down the aisle. The staff was very pleasant to work with and the pricing was reasonable. We highly recommend choosing Red Gate Farms!

Our daughter and her husband (Mechelle and Heath Denmark - 2/27/22) chose the Barn at Red Gate Farms for their wedding venue. The Barn is very serene and beautiful. Everyone at Red Gate Farms were knowledgeable, professional, organized, and friendly. They made the whole planning process effortless. We chose vendors from their list (Top Shelf Entertainment for our DJ, Day of Coordinator & Hair/Make-up, MDB Photography and Georgia Restaurant Ventures), and were very pleased with the services they provided. Everyone made their wedding memorable. We highly recommend this venue and their vendors.

Thank you for choosing us!
Red Gate Farms Wedding Team
I would recommend this venue for your wedding. It's absolutely gorgeous with little to no decorations needed.
The only real issues we had were with communication. We were planning a destination wedding and we would have liked it if our venue coordinator was a little more on the ball with keeping us in the loop. We wouldn't really find out important info until we asked, then had to scramble to fix things or adapt.
Other than that, it really is the best venue for what you get. It's safe, it's close to downtown, and they do have a good set up/break down staff.
Amazing to work with! They were on top of everything! Venue is gorgeous and everything was beautiful

Red Gate Farms Team ( Sylvia, Melanie, PJ and Kyle)
We chose the Grainery location at red gate and it was absolutely breathtaking. Everything we had hoped for and more! The red gate team (Melanie, Sylvia, PJ, Kyle, etc) made the planning process easy and responded to any of my questions in a timely fashion!
Please keep in mind that Red gate requires a day of coordinator- which can be extremely essential for anyone's big day! I used a "preferred vendor" for my day of coordinator, Five Point Productions- which would be my only complaint. She made my day (getting ready process) wayyyy more stressful than taking it away. I should've done more research before booking them.
Otherwise, I would highly recommend Red gate farms to anyone! The views and venues it has to offer is amazing!

We used Red Gate Farms for our wedding and reception April 2021, and are so happy we did! Everyone we worked with kind, quick to answer questions and very clear with pricing. The views were beautiful and for an indoor/outdoor setting you will not find better. We happily recommend Red Gate for any venue you are planning.
Response from the Vendor on 09/08/2021
Thank you so much for your amazing review. It really means a lot to us.
Meredith and Joe you two were so much fun to work with! We wish you years of happiness!
My daughter's wedding was at the Barn at Red Gate Farms and it was gorgeous! You honestly don't need a lot of decorations, the barn and the outside space are beautiful on their own. The staff was amazing and the communication throughout the planning process was excellent! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Beware! We signed a contract March 2020 (one week before COVID!) for an April 2021 wedding at Red Gate Farms. The majority of our guests would be traveling from Massachusetts to attend our wedding (where of course, there were lock downs which meant our guest count would be totally unpredictable). Obviously, COVID happened.... and while the rest of the world seemed to be willing to adjust...Red Gate Farms refused. After much debate and panic, we contacted Red Gate Farms beginning July 2020 to ask for a refund (or partial refund). They would not agree to a refund and wanted us to reschedule the date (which at that point....who knew when that would be!? This was not an option for us due to our guests traveling over 1100 miles to Savannah. When we asked (in July) if they would try to rebook the date for another couple, it took until February 2021 for Red Gate to agree. In February 2021 Sylvia said "it is rare that we book events less than 6 months out and even more rare that we book them less than 3 months out." If they opened the April 2021 date back in July 2020 when we brought it up, they probably could have booked someone as April is a popular wedding month! We never received a refund or partial refund. So disappointed that this venue was not wiling to work with us because of COVID....the rest of the world has had to adjust!
Response from the Vendor on 05/24/2021
Mallory and John,
We would have loved to host your wedding celebrations at Red Gate Farms. Although our contract does not allow for refunds, we recognized Covid presented a new set of planning obstacles for many of our clients. As such, we wo...
rked very closely with them to accommodate their Covid related needs and planning hurdles. We offered clients many rescheduling options including the ability to have an intimate ceremony on their originally scheduled wedding date and then a subsequent larger celebration on a future date. However, many of our clients chose not to reschedule since we were able to accommodate events due to the unique nature of our indoor/outdoor facilities and the ample space our venues have to offer. We implemented significant safety precautions and have been able to conduct weddings for our clients since May 2020 with a majority of our clients traveling from out of town. We wish you both the best and hope you are able to have the wedding of your dreams!

Red Gate Farms
Red gate farms was my first and only choice for a wedding venue. It was the only venue I looked at and my fiancé and I fell in love with the Grainery immediately!! We will be getting married under the 200 year oak tree in April 2022.
The staff at Red Gate has been phenomenal during our planning process. They have introduced us to all the vendors we need and have been very respectful of our budget. As a destination bride, Melanie made sure to set up our tastings and planning session in one visit to save us from going back and forth to Savannah.
Melanie has been nothing short of amazing. She has responded to every email and phone call within hours. She has answered all of my questions and even gone beyond what I’ve asked to help make our vision come to life. Her ideas and thoughtfulness will add to our special idea. I am so excited to continue this process with the red gate farms team.

Allie,
Thank you for the thoughtful review. All of us at Red Gate Farms love what we do!
We truly enjoy working with couples like you and Steven and helping them make their dream day a reality. Our vendors are truly remarkable and help us do it...
! When you use our vendors the day flows perfectly. Thank you for trusting us with your BEST DAY EVER! We cannot wait to see the end result.
We were so excited to work with the Red Gate team after we toured the beautiful venue with Melanie. Once we paid our deposit our experience went downhill. It was pulling teeth to get people to contact us back, and it became very impersonal. Megan was our point of contact and was great, but she left the company shortly after we began working with her. We were never contacted to be informed that our planner had left the company and our new point of contact, Sylvia, made no effort to introduce herself or get to know us.
As COVID cases in our area rise and GA has banned all events 50 people and up, we had to make the decision to cancel our November wedding for the safety of ourselves and our guests.
Melanie showed absolutely no grace or understanding when we had to cancel our wedding due to a worldwide pandemic, and kept our almost $3,000 deposit even though we canceled four months before the wedding date. She didn’t even have the decency to respond about it. Red Gate is a gorgeous venue but it is clear that Melanie’s focus has shifted from creating a positive wedding experience to simply getting as much money from you as she can. I am displeased to say the least and relieved that we will not be spending any more money here.

Leah and Peter,
We were so saddened to hear that you are cancelling your wedding. For all couples that feel uncomfortable moving forward with their wedding plans during this crazy time, we are offering to reschedule to a future date. We woul...
d love for you and Peter to transfer your deposit to sometime in the future when you can feel at ease going forward with your original plans. We are currently still having weddings and are able to follow the guidelines set because we have tons of indoor and outdoor space where guests can attend and still social distance.
Another option we are offering to couples which feel uncomfortable with a large celebration is to have an intimate ceremony free of charge with 10 guests or less and then have a larger celebration once things are more normal again. We apologize for not notifying you of the change concerning our change in client manager but please know that we are always here and willing to help with anything you need.
We are thrilled that you chose Red Gate for your special day and would still love to move forward with you. It breaks our heart to hear that you do not have a positive image of us. We absolutely love what we do and every couple is very special to us!
All of us at Red Gate wish you and Peter many years of happiness. If you would like to work together to make your day amazing, please let us know.
We are happy to report that Leah and Pete did get married at Red Gate! They had a beautiful celebration on their original wedding date. LOVE SURVIVES! The pictures were breathtaking. Take a look at our Facebook or Instagram to see the photos.

I can't say enough how well everything went! The staff is top notch and the setting couldn't be more beautiful. I had a small wedding and they were able to lay out the venue perfectly for the size we had.
Red Gate farms was my first an only choice in venues. My husband, maid of honor and I toured Red Gate and met with Megan and we all instantly fell in love with the farm. Megan was so kind and gracious during our first meeting and continued to be just as amazing during the year and a half planning of my wedding. Dealing with Red Gate and their staff was so easy and fun I can not imagine what I would have done if I didn’t have their support. Every single vendor they suggested was spot on and coordinating with Megan through out our planning was so simple it took so much stress off of me. We got married at the barn under a breathtaking tree with a beautiful pond as our back drop and couldn’t ask for a more picture perfect place. The barn was spacious and absolutely charming and accommodated everything we brought in from decorations to signs to even a Leopolds ice cream cart. Our wedding was absolutely perfect at Red Gate and will forever suggest them for any weddings or events my friends and family have in Savannah!!
I don’t know where to even start!
Red Gate Farms and it’s staff were absolutely amazing. To start, Melanie was great at contacting us with meeting up to tour the place. I planned this wedding from 3 1/2 hours away and she was very accommodating and very sweet! Megan Lucas was always quick responding back to me and helped me in many ways possible! Megan was truly amazing! I fractured my L2 and L3 a week before the wedding and Megan was so accommodating and helpful when i had to take a little time right before the wedding and i was a little late getting her things!
The day of staff was amazing as well! Dory and her crew made the night go so smoothly. We were able to enjoy our night and if anything came up the staff took care of it!
I can’t thank the staff enough for everything and the time and effort it took to let us have our dream wedding at their beautiful venue!
I am pretty disappointed that I am not able to write a better review for Red Gate, because the venue itself was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. We chose to go with the Amphitheater for the ceremony and the Grainery for the reception, and if the review was based solely on the location and look this would be 5 stars.
Up until the day of, I had been planning from afar, and had a great experience working with Megan. However, a week before the wedding, even though our contract had been signed and everything had been paid for, Red Gate changed the bar providers, thus cutting what we paid for in half. Instead of having multiple beer and wine selections and about 10 different liquor choices we were told we would no longer be getting what we paid for, without getting any refund. Megan did step in quickly to try to accommodate us, by giving us the two liquors we wanted. However, the amount of those liquors was so small that by the time the reception started, they were already out of them. Meaning my groom and I didn't get to have any at all.
On the day of my wedding, the staff made the experience poor for those who stepped in to help me. My parents and wedding party told me after the fact that they had multiple encounters with the Red Gate staff that were completely unprofessional and outright rude. For example instead of staying attentive they were all on their phones in the air conditioned room to the side of the reception. When my mom asked for more fans to combat the heat, she was met with slow services and attitudes. On top of that at the end of the night, my dad and one of the staff members got into a vocal fight because they refused to let him take the alcohol we paid for, even though the bartenders said it was okay.
Overall, its unfortunate that a few staff members who seemed like they didn't want to be there made the experience less desirable then planned.

Rachel,
We are so happy that your day was BEAUTIFUL! We are also saddened to hear you were unsatisfied with the bar. We have worked hard addressing the issues you brought up and feel confident that guests in the future will have a better exp...
erience. Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention.
We wish you a long and happy marriage!
Red Gate Farms was the perfect venue for our true Savannah dreamy wedding. We wanted outdoor beauty for our ceremony and the ability to do a reception inside, and that is exactly what they delivered. The venue offers the privacy of being way out in the country and is only 6 miles from downtown. Many of our guests had never been to Savannah before and wanted to enjoy downtown (Red Gate helped us with hotel blocks for our guests). We scheduled a trolley to pick them up at their hotel and bring them to our wedding and those that chose to drive had plenty of parking at the farm. Our ceremony was like a fairy tale. The backdrop of the live oaks and Spanish Moss and the beautiful arbor we rented from Red Gate was a beautiful accent. We were able to rent several things from Red Gate and their suggestions on vendors made the process very simple. Not living in Savannah could have made the process of wedding planning difficult but they made it easier than expected. Guests raved about our DJ, food and beautiful decor and everyone had a great time. It is a truly a day we will never forget and without the help we received from everyone at Red Gate this would not have happened. Thank you for making our wedding dreams come true! YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY YOU BOOKED THIS RED GATE FARMS!
I had planned my wedding for September 9th 2017. Hurricane Irma decided she wanted to make landfall on my wedding weekend. We had to reschedule our date for that coming December. Red Gate Farms and their amazing staff and vendors made sure that our wedding was everything we had dreamed it to be and more. It is still the best day of my life, and me and my husband will forever be grateful for them! Literally the best team and most beautiful venue around!!!
We do not know where to start. Our wedding day was the best day of our lives so far. Without Red Gate, our day would not have gone as planned. Thank you for all your hard work. We cannot tell you how perfect our day was!
We got married at the Barn at Red Gate Farms. The view is great and the Barn is decorated very nicely. The only reason I'm not giving Red Gate Farms 5 stars is because of the lack of communication. There seems to be a lack of communication between the people showing the venue and the event coordinators. We were promised several things whenever we booked the venue that weren't followed through on. We were told by the woman showing us the venue that we'd have an event planner/coordinator with us throughout the whole process and on the day of and neither of those were true. There was also a lack of communication between the even coordinator (Meagan Oneill) in that it took her several days at a time to get back to me on time sensitive matters. I was also unimpressed with her due to the fact that each time I met with her, she talked badly about other brides that she was dealing with and overall seemed unprofessional and disorganized. She also tried to tell us two weeks before our wedding that we were required to have a day-of event coordinator. This was not in our contract, nor our budget, so obviously I refused, but this shouldn't have been something brought up two weeks before the event. Overall, the 3 star rating is coming from the architecture and scenery and not from the staff, although I will say that the staff helping us on the day of the wedding were incredible and super helpful to us.
DO NOT BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE!! I’ve never had a more horrible experience with any company than this! If I could leave no stars, I absolutely would. I booked Red Gate for my wedding in January of 2018, my wedding was March 9, and the whole time we have been put through the ringer. When we booked, we were promised the “Dream Team” where they would be with us the whole time, giving me multiple options throughout the planning process. We never got that. The lack of communication started as soon as we booked and ended AFTER the ceremony itself. The original person in charge of planning our wedding now has a lawsuit against her because she hacked into the system and tried charging us 5x the amount that was necessary. After she stopped working there, we were put into the hands of another event manager that also did not know how to communicate. We were promised multiple things for the wedding but was not told that there would be an upcharge for ANY of it until we got the bill. At that point, we were ready to back out, but after my father and fiancé talked to the owners and were promised better service, communication, and fair prices, they convinced us to stay once again (mind you this was 3 months before the wedding and invitations had already been sent out). Because of that, they put us into the hands of ANOTHER event manager who was new because one of the people we were dealing with the whole time went on materinaty leave right before all this happened (the communication was so bad the whole time we didn’t even know she was pregnant until 3 weeks before she left). At this point, we thought things would be taken care of. But no. We were supposed to have a meeting 4 weeks before the event with the event manager, the day of coordinator, and the vendors: the only person who showed was the day of coordinator because their “office hours changed and they were not allowed to meet on the weekends.” Knowing that I lived 4 hours away and I could only meet on the weekends. They never made us aware of this until the day of our meeting that was promised in the contract. Since it was too late to go anywhere, we waited. I asked for the day of timeline a month before for other vendors that were asking for it to help them schedule, but couldn’t get one until the week before. The day of the wedding, I saw my day-of coordinator ONE TIME the whole day. She had no idea the order that our wedding party was supposed to be in when being announced at the reception, she didn’t know where they were supposed to go in once they were announced, she didn’t even stay around for the whole ceremony. She was nowhere to be found! She also did not plan time for me (the bride) and my husband to take pictures after the ceremony, so we had to do a first look, which neither of us wanted, but had to do if we wanted pictures together before the sun went down. If it weren’t for my amazing photographer who helped plan time for the pictures and the DJ who helped move the reception along, it would have been a disaster the day of. When my husband told one of our vendors who our day of coordinator was, they even warned us about how unorganized she was. She was also very rude to my sister and I at the meeting and the day of the wedding. FOR YOUR OWN PEACE OF MIND: BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
Response from the Vendor on 05/12/2019
Emily and family,
We are disheartened to hear that you were unsatisfied with your experience with Red Gate Farms. Red Gate Farms, its staff, and outside vendors felt as though your special day was absolutely beautiful! The pictures and video sh...
ow lots of love and happiness on the faces of everyone that attended your wedding. In most instances, Red Gate Farms works with our clients for one full year or more for wedding preparations which was true in your situation as well since you booked in January 2018 for The Grainery at Red Gate Farms and your wedding was to be held in March 2019. During the more than one year of wedding preparation, Red Gate Farms did experience some changes but worked diligently to handle them professionally, efficiently, and always with your best interest in mind.
Red Gate Farms employees many amazing staff members and works closely with outside vendors. The staff and vendors have a proven track record and phenomenal reputation so we sometimes refer to them as our “Dream Team” as you referenced. Except for one employee discussed below, the “Dream Tream” was promised and delivered! All staff and vendors that were promised in your initial booking process were indeed vendors at your wedding. Such vendors included the following: Delightful Catering, Azalea Ann’s Florist and Top Shelf Entertainment. These vendors were all present at your wedding and worked to ensure your day was as special as you envisioned.
In May 2018 (10 months prior to your wedding day), Red Gate Farms did terminate one of it’s employees (however, it is not our policy to discuss employee terminations with clients or the public so we will not comment on speculation regarding the reasons. However, we can ensure no client’s money was stolen.) Once the employee was terminated, Red Gate Farms promptly contacted all clients to let them know they would have a new point of contact. We were open and honest with our clients our goal was to ensure their events continued to be exactly as they envisioned. In regards to the employee hacking the system and charging five times the original price, this is simply not the case. Red Gate Farms uses an online system that discloses pricing for all items included in the contract. All pricing is discussed and clearly displayed prior to payment. If and when an issue arose, Red Gate Farms worked closely with you to ensure you understood the terms and pricing. Only after you understood all items and agreed, were any payments made.
Red Gate Farms recognizes any change during the wedding planning process can cause stress for our clients. In a display of good faith and to relieve any potential stress caused by the termination of an employee you previously worked with, Red Gate Farms made several accommodations to alleviate any concern.

Red Gate Farms prefers regular communication from our client. Unfortunately, there was a lack of communication from you as the client as well particularly in regard to having so many points of contact for your wedding. At one point, we were instructed not to communicate with the bride and to only communicate with the parents which we were happy to accommodate. However, we had many emails and phone calls that we never received a response from up until the last month of planning. Red Gate Farms made many efforts to keep a constant contact with all points of contacts that we were given throughout the planning process. We even accommodated to two unscheduled appointments in which the father and groom showed up at Red Gate Farms without an appointment but we made accommodations to meet with them. In early December at an in-person meeting, your Red Gate Farms planning manager who was almost nine months pregnant made you aware that her maternity leave would begin in late December 2018. She then sent out an email 3 weeks before she went on maternity leave to remind everyone and to ask if they would like to meet before she went out. Red Gate Farms apologized for the change of client manager but both circumstances were beyond our control and are very rare instances in our company. Red Gate Farms hired an additional Planning Manger to cover for the current Planning Manager’s maternity leave. Red Gate Farms made sure you were always aware of who your contact was and promptly notified you. Additionally, all details of planning sessions are documented in your file and available online.
The Planning Manager that was handling your wedding the last few months of planning, made many efforts to schedule a final planning session with the Bride but the Bride was never available. The Planning Manager even offered to do a phone meeting to accommodate the Bride but the Bride was still not available. The final planning session is handled solely by the Planning Manager; the vendors are not a part of the final planning session. The office hours did not change until February 2019. Saturdays were available for meetings up until that point. The Planning Manager made accommodations for you and met with you on a Sunday off-site to have a final planning session, because that was the only time you were available.
The draft timeline was given to you on February 17th, a full 3 weeks before the wedding day. This was supposed to be edited by you for final approval. Then the final timeline gets sent to all vendors a week before the wedding. The day of your wedding your coordinator checked in with you many times throughout the day. There were many changes by the wedding party that happened on wedding day without the coordinator being made aware. For example, the bridal party line up was changed at ceremony time, because a bridesmaid did not have a dress that matched, and then changed again at introduction to reception. These were all discussions and decisions that were made without informing the Day of Coordinator who was working the entire wedding.
At the time of booking your wedding, you were made aware that the weekend of your wedding was daylight savings time change and that you needed to choose a ceremony time that revolved around sunset. The most common start time chosen by couples for weddings at Red Gate Farms is 5:30pm, but you are not required to have that time slot. Red Gate Farms includes a 4 hour event. On September 27th 2018 the planning manager emailed the clients in regards to ceremony start time. This email was not responded to until October 27th 2018. Once all realized that sunset was at 6:28pm, the client manager suggested a 4:00pm or 4:30pm start time. This email was never responded to. Red Gate Farms can make every suggestion to our clients, but we cannot force you to do as we suggest. This lack of communication and attention to detail is the reason for you and your husband choosing to do a first-look on your wedding day so that you would have proper light for photographs. The decision to do a first look was not made until the day of your wedding, and the Day of Coordinator was never made aware of this change until after the first look was executed.
On November 17th 2018, we received an email that you decided to your change your wedding venue from the Barn to the Grainery. There are many differences between the two venues. The Barn included a bridal suite and groom’s room and a one-night complimentary night stay in the loft apartment above. The Grainery included The Belle Tower with a bridal suite and groom’s room to get ready in and no overnight accommodations. You were not satisfied with the accommodations at the Belle Tower so Red Gate Farms offered you the Belle Tower or the Barn accommodations, not both areas. There were many misunderstandings with this, but Red Gate Farms honored the complimentary night stay and the bridal suites at the barn.
After the wedding day, the father of the bride made a special trip out to Red Gate Farms just to let the staff know how amazing it was. He also called the Day of Coordinator to thank her for her great service. We then spoke to the father on the phone later that week, and he had nothing but kind words to say. He did suggest we improve communication processes so we welcomed and appreciated his suggestion. Red Gate Farms strives to provide the best possible experience for our clients so we are always appreciative of any feedback or suggestions a client may have.
Red Gate Farms’ goal is to make every wedding day perfect for our clients. In this situation where a client feels we did not succeed, we are always appreciative of feedback and suggestions. It is our sincere hope that you and your family can focus on all the things wonderful about your special day. The music, food, decor, cake, and facility were all executed flawlessly. The pictures and video of this day all suggest is was a delightful day for your friends and family so we hope you are able to have positive thoughts going forward. We wish you and your family the best and hope you have a long and happy marriage!
If I could leave 0 stars I would. My sister chose Redgate as her venue a year ago and it was nothing short of a disaster! The owners, venue manager, and day of coordinator brushed her off, promised certain details and didn't deliver, didn't answer phone calls, etc. The venue manger refused to meet with her on Saturdays even though they are supposed to be accessible on Saturdays. The day of coordinator lacked attention to detail and didn't even finish the walk down the aisle. She was having a side conversation. There was no timeline set up for day of even though it was requested multiple times. The lack of timeline caused my sister to have to do a first look with her fiance. In the beginning, there was money being stolen internally by employees, and they turned this into my parents and sister problem. At the reception, I met the father of the first venue manager that was supposed to be "helping" my sister, and after he realized I was a former DM for a bridal company that was previously sending clients their way, he asked I continue to do so. After, the experience my sister had, the fact he had the nerve to ask blew me away. Overall, I would never recommend this venue to anyone!

Red Gate Farms was the perfect place to have our wedding. It was absolutely breathtaking walking into the barn on our wedding day and seeing everything set up. The staff is incredibly attentive and goes out of their way for you every step of the way. I would highly recommend this venue!!
To say we fell in love with Red Gate would kind of be an understatement. It’s rustic charm and vintage feel, it felt like the perfect place to get married. I cannot stress enough how helpful Megan was in organizing us and supplying us with every little detail we might need. We would highly recommend Red Gate!!
If you want a authentic country setting with exceptional client service then Red Gate is the place for you! Megan was very flexible and hospitable. Very responsive and I had a million questions since I planned this wedding from another state. The setting itself allows for the best romantic backdrop without the needed for many added decorations. Red Gate is the place for your southern country wedding!
Megan and her staff at Red Gate Farms were absolutely amazing! From the moment I met Megan I knew I was in good hands. She is so professional and truly runs a well oiled machine over at Red Gate. From the ceremony to the reception everything was absolutely gorgeous and went off without a hitch. We could not have asked for a more perfect day and we have Red Gate to thank for that!
We had our ceremony in the meadow, and the reception in the barn. The entire day was just the most magical moment of our lives; we are so happy with our choice of venue. Megan is just as sweet as they come! She put us at ease and helped us nail out all the details. This site is beyond gorgeous, and surprisingly affordable. Our wedding was perfect thanks to Megan and the team at Red Gate!
I would recommend this beautiful place to ANYONE who has a large group of people coming from multiple places. Aside from the beauty, there are multiple options that make it a "one-stop-shop" for planning a wedding! And Megan is the best! She rolls with the punches, and solves any issue that arises (as they always will). As the bride, I didn't have to worry about anything on my big day, from answering questions to vendor management to crisis control, which was priority number 1 for me!
The Barn, and the surrounding area, is truly beautiful. Our guests truly enjoyed the venue. It also makes for such beautiful photos. There are lots of props, decorations, and furniture that truly make this an enchanting and rustic venue.
Megan was a huge help, was quick to respond to any and all concerns, and was a great day of coordinator. We also had friends of the family stay at the on site apartment. It was so helpful to have access to the barn sooner than if we had not also rented that space.
We were lucky enough to have perfect weather, but one huge perk about this space is that you get a back up plan for the ceremony if it ends up raining.
I would highly recommend this venue! It was perfect for us.
The location for our ceremony and reception was a dream. We had backup plans for inclement weather and the staff was so easy to work with on our big day.
We received so many compliments on our wedding venue, Red Gate Farms is absolutely beautiful. Megan was an excellent day-of-coordinator, she was also very understanding and quick to assist me when things went wrong with our Trolley service to the venue. Overall I cannot have asked for a better experience, the only negative comment I have was due to the transition of one planner leaving and Megan taking over, it seemed like some communications were lost in transition for me. Otherwise, like I said, my guests were dazzled.
GORGEOUS! Completely underpriced for what they could be charging. It's a breathtaking venue that deserves to be booked years in advanced. Absolutely amazing!
The staff at Red Gate Farms was so friendly and helpful. They were always prompt in answering my questions and offering suggestions to help me out. The venue was absolutely breathtaking. My husband and I wanted a more rustic feel for our wedding and we could not have asked for a better location. The tree where our ceremony was held offered much needed shade and a beautiful backdrop for our photos. The barn was perfect and offered enough seating room, while still being able to move around.
The venue is great. The lake is gorgeous. It's everything you need in one place. Wedding, reception, area for both the Bride and Groom to get ready. They provide bartenders too. There are tons of places to take photographs. It's a great spot.
Most importantly, the folks that work there are wonderful. Tricia is amazing. She's an absolute pro, and was always willing to offer her advise and expertise. The bartenders were so kind, and pitched in to help us in every way.
The venue has lovely brand new chairs, and they are constantly working on the property. It's lovely, well maintained, and well cared for (including the animals! My guests LOVED all the animals). With that much care put into the building, you know that they will take great care of you and your event.
