We hired Angela after an unimpressive consult with another wedding planner, and we could tell right off of the bat that she would be a perfect fit. My mom and I planned to do all of the wedding prep ourselves, and were hoping to avoid the stres...s of details on the day of the wedding. So, we hired Angela for the "day of" service, but really, she did TONS of prep work leading up to the day too.
In the months leading up to the wedding, I was able to talk and email with Angela about questions I had regarding vendors, etiquette, recommendations, etc. About a month before the wedding, Angela and I had a long, in-depth meeting about the wedding day. She asked me questions about details I hadn't even thought of, and she was able to bring a focus to the whole wedding planning process. If you've ever planned a wedding, you know it's CRAZY, and her help was definitely needed. Knowing a professional had control of everything put my mind at ease, or as at ease as a future brides' mind can be. We went through all of the vendors, the timeline, the food, the layout...everything!
About one or two weeks before the wedding, Angela sent us a VERY detailed timeline of our wedding day, beginning at 6 AM. This schedule alone was worth what we paid her; it was SO detailed. There were many moving parts, and Angela had everything broken down by 15 minute increments, down to who was delivering the pies to the venue when. It was exactly what we needed, and I am 1000% sure that my wedding would have been a disaster without Angela and this schedule.
When I arrived at the rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding, Angela was already there discussing details with my mom. They were walking between the reception and ceremony areas, moving things around and pointing. It was great to know that she had everything under control. I asked her if she needed anything from me, and she said that we were good to go for the wedding day (yay!). The rehearsal dinner was seamless, and she was able to corral our large group easily. We went through the processional and recessional, and Angela handled everything professionally and succinctly.
The wedding morning went smoothly (I assume; I was getting my hair and make up done with my bridesmaids and I didn't hear from anyone, so it went smoothly for me which was the important part). We arrived at the park and everything looked beautiful beyond belief. Angela made the shelter look perfect beyond our expectations. It looked GORGEOUS, perfect, beautiful, and about a million other adjectives I can't fit in here. The wedding and reception went off seamlessly, and I literally did not have a single thing to worry about, except being sad that it was over. Angela even brought us drinks while we were waiting for our food!
I cannot recommend Red Letter Day Events, and Angela, enough. It was the best money I could have spent, and if I had to do it over, I would be happy to pay her much more than her asking price. Seriously. She was a bargain, and she exceeded all of our expectations.
I also want to mention that Angela was very in-tune to the type of wedding we wanted, and she went out of her way to make our day perfect for us. We didn't want a typical "box wedding" and we didn't get one. It was the perfect day and was a good reflection of my husband and I, and I have Angela to thank for that.
