Red Mesa Events underwent a thorough renovation of its three event spaces and officially opened its doors in November 2017. This renovation combined preservation of the original features of this historic structure, as well as including contemporary amenities. On your special day, you can exchange your vows on the Desanto Rooftop on the third floor with stunning views of the downtown area. The Desanto Rooftop Bar has a Brazilian Walnut deck, a 30-foot bar, and lounge seating. A chic ambience and handcrafted cocktails add to the enjoyment of this outdoor space. La Florida Ballroom features original exposed brick walls along with a herringbone wood floor, a marble bar, and two shining chandeliers. This 1,200-square-foot space makes an exquisite place for festivities. The
Cantinita Terrace adds another intimate space near the Ballroom, with its lounge and balcony bar.
Red Mesa Events hosts single-faith, multi-faith, and non-religious wedding ceremonies. It can also be booked for elopements, commitment ceremonies, vow renewal ceremonies, and second weddings as well as other special occasions. The venue staff will work with you to realize your wedding vision, providing catering, bar service, and event rentals. Additionally, parking and wheelchair access make this venue a more convenient destination for all guests.

We recently had our wedding at Red Mesa Events and it was truly a great experience from start to finish. The layout of the venue is fantastic, with space for both the ceremony and reception. We had our ceremony up at the DeSanto rooftop and moved down to the ballroom for the reception. The sound system in the ballroom was amazing, and the built-in lighting options allowed us to personalize the space and create a great atmosphere for dancing. The team at Red Mesa, specifically Olga, went above and beyond to ensure that everything went smoothly. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and professional, always available to help with last-minute requests or adjustments. They truly made the entire planning process seamless and helped us to have the wedding of our dreams!

The pre-planning process was seamless thanks to their incredibly professional and attentive team, led by the amazing Olga Moiseeva. Olga’s expertise, warmth, and dedication made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. She was always available to answer questions, provide solutions, and ensure everything aligned with our vision.
Our wedding reception took place on September 29th, just a few days after Hurricane Helene hit, and the challenges of the aftermath could have been overwhelming. However, the team at Red Mesa was in constant communication, keeping us informed and reassured every step of the way. Their preparedness and flexibility were remarkable, and they ensured our day went off without a hitch despite the circumstances.
On the day of the event, everything was flawless. The venue looked absolutely stunning, with every detail perfectly arranged. The staff was warm, professional, and so attentive, making sure we and our guests were taken care of throughout the evening.
The food and drinks were a highlight – beautifully presented and absolutely delicious! The ambiance, paired with the outstanding service, created an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.

Elaina and the entire Red Mesa team were incredible from start to finish. We had to replan our rehearsal dinner and welcome party about a month before our wedding due to the hurricanes, and they made the process seamless. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. It was the perfect setting for our events, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We had the privilege to hold my son's Rehearsal dinner at the Red Mesa in the La Florida Ballroom. It was such an excellent evening. Olga Moiseeva was our dedicated Sales Manager for our event. She is fabulous at her job. Olga stepped us through the process from the start. Her communication was excellent and her professionalism and valuable feedback were amazing. Olga and her team did an outstanding job the night of the Rehearsal dinner. They were very organized and the night went off without a hitch. The food was wonderful and the service spectacular. I even had members of our guest list tell me this was the most beautiful and best-organized rehearsal dinner they had ever attended. This was such a compliment. The support and guidance from the Red Mesa team was exceptional. I recommend this venue to anyone looking to put on a classy and memorable event! Thank you Red Mesa Team!
Such an amazing wedding venue. The food is INCREDIBLE! The space is beautiful and the staff is excellent. We really appreciated that much of what we needed (chairs, linens, arch, etc.) was included in the price, since many other venues don't offer that. Would highly recommend Red Mesa for weddings!

I had my baby shower at Red Mesa Events and it was truly everything I could've dreamed of. Elaina worked so hard to bring my vision to life, and every guest mentioned how it was the most gorgeous and best baby shower they've ever been to. The service was 10/10, the room was perfect, the planning went smoothly, and of course the food was amazing.
I'm so happy I had this important day in my life at Red Mesa. I'd have events there again in the future. It was everything I wanted and more. Thank you SO MUCH to the staff and Elaina for being so kind and incredible to me and my guests.

Red Mesa was the perfect venue for us, especially being an out of town couple. The location was great since we had so many guests flying in, easily accessible from the airports, hotels, and rentals. The entire event space is gorgeous, meaning that we didn’t have to spend a lot of effort or money on decorations. For our wedding, we just wanted to have a great time with our friends/family. The food was delectable (I housed empanadas during cocktail hour) and the staff was great. On top of that, every other vendor we contacted, raved about how they love working with Red Mesa. It made things go smoothly on the day of.

My husband and I got married in July 2023 and we had our rehearsal dinner at Red Mesa Cantina. We absolutely loved the space and our guests had such an incredible time! We rented the De Santo rooftop area and the views were incredible. Anastasia and Leigh were so helpful in the planning process. They made the whole process stress-less and enjoyable for me. They even let me drop off my decor the day before, which was so convenient. Their team decorated the space and packed it all up for us. The food and drinks were VERY delicious!! We would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a private party or event.
We just had our wedding at Red Mesa in March of 2023 and it was absolutely incredible! From the start of the planning process Leigh was more than amazing. She answered every email or phone call promptly and with the best attitude. The venue itself is stunning, we got married on the rooftop and rain came through during cocktail hour and the team was quick to pull the walls down. It was great! The ballroom is beautiful and the staff was so helpful and nice. The food was OUTSTANDING! We had many people say it was the best wedding food they've ever had, my husband and I would agree! We had the perfect experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking!
We had our wedding here in December of 2022. It was incredible. Leigh was a dream to work with throughout the whole process. I was a bride who wanted to elope for fear of dealing with the planning and cost, and I am so so happy we had a wedding here. The venue itself is gorgeous, and so convenient. We had the ceremony on the rooftop, and transitioned to the ballroom for dinner and dancing. Every staff member worked hard to ensure our evening went well, and I had multiple guests comment on how friendly the waitstaff was. They constantly were letting us know to let them know if you needed anything. The food was incredible, I've been to a million weddings and this was the best food ever. It arrived hot and had an awesome variety. Our passes appetizers were delicious. All in all, we had a perfect experience and I would highly recommend!
I can't even begin to express my love and gratitude for everyone at Red Mesa Cantina. We got married on 11/20 and I had to rush and write this review because they seriously blew our minds! The whole team was incredible. My fiance and I are from Boston but have family in the St. Petersburg area so we decided to make it a destination wedding. Leigh was amazing from the moment we inquired to Monday morning when we picked up all of our stuff. She answered all 100 questions in a timely manner and did a great job at passing us off to our actual day of venue coordinator, Jessie! At the rehersal the weather was calling for 100% rain over the exact time of our rooftop ceremony. I was CRYING at the rehersal thinking everything was ruined. This was nothing for Jessie. She didn't have a doubt in her mind that everything was going to go off perfectly. Her confidence in her team and the venue reassured me that we were in good hands.
Our ceremony was held in the banquet space meaning the venue team had 1 hour to reset the room for the reception. FLAWLESS execution. I didn't think about a thing. Our cocktail hour food was brought out and hot and our friends & family raved about it. Just blew my mind at how professional this venue is.
The food - we did passed apps and chip display for cocktail hour, a taco bar for dinner. All we heard all night was that the food was incredible. Everyone kept asking me if I had the queso because it was so good. The servers were professional and having a good time with us! The bartenders - life of the party! Service was fast, they were professional and they just really cared. It was amazing.
If you're looking for something off the beach and in a gorgeous venue please consider Red Mesa. The banquet space is stunning - you don't need a ton of decorations because it speaks for itself, all the uplighting is built in, the DJ booth is out of the way, the tables & chairs are beautiful. The rooftop was incredible and i'm sad we couldn't hold our ceremony up there but the backup space was just as beautiful.

If I could choose a more specific rating, I would give the venue a 2.5, as you'll see there were a number of positives.
To start, pricing was decent in comparison to other venues, and we liked that food, beverage and basic deco handled in house. The venue is small yet beautiful, and the location is ideal, in the heart of St. Petersburg, FL.
As far as the in-house event coordination goes, we were assigned many different coordinators throughout the process due to employee turnover which led to quite a few miscommunications. Leigh, who leads events, was not pleasant to work with and treated not only my coordinator, but multiple members of our bridal party, with disrespect to the point where it was brought to my attention.
The food at the tasting was very good. However, the night of the event, each and every plate arrived extremely cold. We were hoping it was only ours, even though we were seated immediately. However, unfortunately we received reports of this from multiple guests once the wedding was over.
We had my son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner and welcome reception here. It met and exceeded all our expectations. We worked with Leigh and Jessie. They were responsive, flexible, and organized. I was planning this event from out of town and could not have been happier with the way it turned out. Jessie gave me tips for where to get flowers. I picked out a color theme and she made the two spaces we were using look great. The food, drinks and service on the day of the event were outstanding. I would highly recommend Red Mesa!
Red Mesa did not disappoint! The venue is beautiful and the event team is made up of rockstars! Leigh and Reagen were fantastic and guided me and my husband through each stage in the booking and planning process. The ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were gorgeous and the event team was on top of every detail. Many of our other vendors had worked with RM before and spoke very highly of the venue and event team. All of the food and beverages were wonderful and our guests were so impressed! We had our wedding on 08/08/2021 and it was more than we could have EVER imagined! I researched SO MANY venues prior to reaching out to Red Mesa and I have to say, Leigh was hands down the best event coordinator I have spoken to. She not only took the time to offer me many options within our budget, she was always willing to talk to me on the phone to go over any of my questions and concerns. She was professional, fun, and such a dream to work with. When I told her my vision for the venue she took that vision and amplified it 10000X. We were looking to do tons of greenery and romantic candles and when I say she blew me out of the water with her décor, I was BLOWN AWAY. Not to mention the food was absolutely INSANE. This is not your typical wedding food, from the salad to the chicken and steak, down to the drinks - everything was absolutely incredible. Leigh and her team truly made this the most special day of our lives and we couldn’t be more thankful to them for all they did. As an added bonus, this space is incredible with the exposed brick and the gorgeous rooftop overlooking St. Pete. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the wedding was and how good the food was!! I HIGHLY recommend you check out Red Mesa for your next event!
From the time we booked the venue until the time we got married in November, we had 4 different coordinators that we worked with at Red Mesa. Each individual told us something completely different which was really frustrating. They put one of our dinner items out during cocktail hour which I wasn’t aware of until dinner as I missed it due to photos so when I questioned the nachos during the dinner, they attempted to rectify but didn’t tell us until later that their would be a delay as the chips and dips come from downstairs so by the time it came up 75% was done with dinner, no apology or refund was mentioned by Red Mesa. They also gave us apple empanadas not the requested guava They also closed the bar earlier than we agreed upon with out notification. I emailed the operations manager as it appears as though we were overcharged, she acknowledged my email and but when I responded back with how I realized we were over charge she just never responded again. Pretty venue but they need to get it together.
I am so impressed and so grateful for Aaron! The rest of the staff were amazing as well of course, but Aaron has been amazing from the get go! I would love to start with expressing how Aaron took over our account three months before the wedding due to a miscommunication and he was on top of it right as we cleared it up. He made it the wedding of my dreams and treated me as a person, not a customer and never tried to get me to add something that wasn’t necessary. He gave amazing advice that made the wedding a night to remember. The cooks out did themselves, I have had multiple people from the wedding tell me this was the best food they have had from a wedding. They were attentive to keeping it stocked and I saw everyone making sure that my guests were attended to. The servers and bartenders were so sweet and made sure the evening went smooth. I can say that we made an amazing choice with going with the Red Mesa and I wouldn’t have changed a thing! Thank you so much for making my wedding one of the best nights of my life!
I had my wedding reception here in December 2018. I can't adequately express what an amazing- seamless process it was from the day I booked. I had a short engagement and was worried about it all coming together. Jen and Megan make the best team and assured that every detail was just perfect and how I envisioned it. They met with me as often as I wanted, emailed with me multiple times a day when I had a million ideas and questions and to my knowledge never got annoyed with me! They are true professionals and it shows. I got so many compliments afterwards. The best thing about this venue is it doesn't need much in terms of decorations. The exposed brick walls, marble bar with lamps, hardwood floors, crown molding, chandeliers, built in DJ booth and uplighting make it such an unique space. Not to mention they are able to provide tables in various sizes and shapes, linens and chairs ( THE EXPENSIVE ONES). We also rented out the terrace- which was perfect set up for a photo booth, lounge area and cocktail tables. Red Mesa has always been known for their food and they did not disappoint. You aren't going to have better food at a wedding than this. In addition to all of this the venue is able to provide various items such as hurricane candles etc so you don't have to worry about renting. If you are looking for a beautiful venue, awesome coordinators and a no stress planning process- look no further.
We wanted an intimate holiday wedding dinner (less than 30 ppl) with great atmosphere and great food. Red Mesa turned out to be the perfect venue to make that happen. Jennifer was very helpful throughout the planning process. On the day of, she went above and beyond to help us get everything set up and make everything happen. The event staff was also amazing to our guests. The food was unique for your typical wedding. The chef and kitchen staff created appetizers and entrees that really wowed our guests. I planned my friend's bridal shower at Red Mesa and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. I planned the event from afar, and Jennifer responded to all my emails in a timely fashion. The day of the shower, the staff was attentive and super pleasant. The food tasted excellent and the outdoor (but covered) venue was beautiful.

We had our engagement party here and it was absolutely perfect! The price for a Sunday party was reasonable and the wonderful views and gorgeous decor are unbeatable. I spent a lot of time researching downtown st. pete and downtown tampa venues and this was the best bang for our buck. What really sold me was the event coordinator, Audrey who was there for me every step of the way and made the event flow seamlessly and exactly how I wanted it. Every single guest at the party raved about the venue. I could not be more pleased with the venue and the staff here, so much so that we have actually decided to book our wedding here!

Directed Capital had their Christmas Party at Red Mesa Cantina this past Saturday. Their new banquet room is beautiful and everything was spectacular!!! They did an amazing job!
