y of coordinator and the all-inclusive options were incredibly important to us as we did not want to work on our wedding day, nor did we want our family to have to do anything. After meeting Chris, we knew our wedding would be in good hands. He is so personable, passionate about providing an excellent experience, and always strives for perfection – definitely all things you want in someone in charge of your wedding! Both Chris and Bethany were incredible email communicators and oh so patient with all of my questions. They are constantly working to improve and made several updates over the time we waited for our wedding date to come. We loved all the updates they made to the venue – including the beautiful brand-new bridal suite. We received access to a planning portal that contained very detailed planning forms which we worked on little by little. This was incredibly helpful in organizing all of the details and the itinerary for the day. We ended up choosing one of their preferred caterers (Excellent BBQ was incredible!). Chris and Bethany made sure to connect with all of our vendors the week prior to the wedding to confirm that they would all be there. We were a little nervous about not booking our own DJ, but the DJ (Chris!) the night of was fantastic and knew exactly how to mix our preferred songs and how to alternate between Spanish and English so that our guests were on the dance floor the entire night. We loved how the speakers were located throughout the entire venue, so guests were able to hear music in every area. We did not have to worry about microphones or speakers for the ceremony as this was included as well with their sound system. The outside bar was a hit, as was the photobooth. Also absolutely LOVED that they had linens/tableware/china available for rent and we could use their supply of in-house decorations. Highly recommend upgrading to have them set up your decorations so that all you have to worry about is getting ready. Also recommend having Spec’s in Bastrop deliver the alcohol/mixers/ice so you don’t have to worry about bringing it. While I was taking my time enjoying getting ready, my fiancé was in his groom’s suite watching an Austin FC soccer game with family and friends. We really were able to just enjoy the day, worry-free. We all love to party, so we weren’t sure how we’d do with a 6pm-11pm wedding time. But honestly it was the absolute perfect amount of time. Family and friends were there till the end to watch us head out with our sparkler send off. We ended up loving the Smithville location and have really enjoyed getting to know such a pretty town and nearby Bastrop. Everyone has commented on how smoothly the wedding ran and how incredibly well organized everything was. We are so grateful for all the hard-working staff that made it possible. Chris, Bethany, Yeslin, Mikayla, Cece, Alyson, and Cody – thank you for making our wedding dreams reality! We loved the experience so much, we are trying to figure out how we can throw another celebration at Red Ridge (maybe our 5-year anniversary party!). We are also hoping some of our family and friends get married here so we can return as guests. ; ) Can’t say it enough – book Red Ridge Receptions if you want a beautiful, perfect, intimate, and unforgettable wedding!

Gigi, their day of coordinator was an angel and did anything and everything she could to make the day go smoothly. We scheduled a tour of a different venue in Austin (we live in DFW), and since RR had followed up on my initial message, I figured what the heck, we can tack on a stop there as long as we are in town. It was the first venue we stopped at that we were both STOKED about. One stop packages for me, and a bathroom in the groomsuite for him (this was actually a rarity among venues we toured. Ok there was lots of reasons we chose RR but I'd be lying if I said that bathroom wasn't at least one tally mark!! We left the tour and my fiance immediately said "Anything else we see is going to have to really blow our minds to beat that." Ok, enough about how we met Red Ridge! The planning with them was so smooth and seamless - very consistent responses and they didn't make us feel dumb for asking some very nitty gritty detail questions (we're service industry, we can't help it). They give you a great jumping off point with their preferred vendor list but they do not limit you to just those vendors, or worse CHARGE you to use non preferred vendors (that's a real thing). Whether they say it to all couples or not, they complimented lots of our choices along the way, which I loved. Lots of people will give you their opinions when wedding planning so it was great to have some encouragement from the experts. OK on to the actual wedding- what a freaking party. We told Red Ridge we wanted a PARTY, and they played a huge role in that. You can't party too hard if you don't have a ride home- Chris hooked us up with a great transportation service. No party without an awesome dj managing our playlist and speedy bartenders- Kylan, Jess and John knocked it out of the park. Not that I ever went to the bar because the badass day of coordinator (another HUGE value with their package) was making sure I always had a drink in hand! Literally letting me drink a cocktail out of her hand in between family photos. What a gem. We initially thought we wanted a destination wedding so people would get a little vacation too. But, we still wanted a large group so somewhere out of the country was out. Red Ridge ended up being just perfect- enough of a destination that you had to take the weekend off- but not so far that limited the guest list. Just perfect. And I haven't even mentioned how much fun our guests had exploring Smithville and Bastrop. We had people in from Missouri, Iowa, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and fellow Texans and they were all absolutely charmed by Red Ridge and area! On the actual day of the wedding, my friends and family had more interaction with the RR team but they all said the same thing- those guys really know their stuff! Several members of our wedding party said the rehearsal was the most organized rehearsal they'd ever been to. Chris doesn't want to waste anyone's time and I appreciate his directness with our rowdy crew! He also is very insistent that it's your day and most likely, they can accommodate whatever the couple wants. We loved that they even let us give them a playlist of songs NOT to play at the reception. That's the level of detail you want! The views are spectacular, the packages offer incredible value, and Chris and Beth are amazing. And it def doesn't have to be rustic! ;)

My family couldn’t not stop raving about everyone at the venue who worked to make sure that not only the bride and groom were having the best time but as well as my guests. I was fortunate to not have any problems arise (like bad weather, etc) but I know if something came up, Red Ridge would’ve came up with a new plan in heart beat. 1000 stars for Red ridge if I could give that many. Throughout the process they were always very well organized, punctual, and had (fast) answers to every single question we had. We did not use a wedding coordinator so they were our go-to's for the random wedding questions we came into along the way (like how should the bridal party stand on the risers). Regarding what came with our package, I was so pleased with all of the options and the services day-of were spectacular (shout out to our day-of coordinator Nicki!). Chris and Bethany were also so gracious with us with rescheduling our big day when I got sick the week of our first time around and it was such a relief knowing that wasn't something we had to worry about. If you're looking for a gorgeous, natural beauty-filled venue with super organized, detail-oriented, and caring owners look no further. Red Ridge is the place to make the wedding day of your dreams come to life!

That being said, Red Ridge Receptions and the people (Chris and Bethany) handled everything so beautifully and professionally. From the beginning when we went to take a tour of this place, my husband and I were completely blown away by it's beauty and the price for that beauty! We also felt as though the owners really valued our time and our business. They were the only venue we visited and we were sold. Throughout the entire process they were in constant communication and they did a very good job of easing any anxiety we had and even helped us with things we hadn't even thought about. And even through a winter storm, Chris made our wedding happen and it was absolutely beautiful. I do not think it could have been any more perfect considering the circumstances. So if you are getting married in the Austin area, I highly suggest checking these guys out. They are awesome and will not disappoint!

rried. Bethany was so helpful in getting us started on everything and helping us with forms/day of stuff and Chris’ team was amazing on our wedding day and so accommodating. They answered any questions we had in the best way possible. Nicki was our day of coordinator and I would have had no idea what I was doing or where I was going without her. Now to talk about what a beautiful venue it is. It’s on top of a hill and has an awesome altar for the ceremony. The view is so pretty and the reception area is very nice as well. I think the best way to describe Red Ridge would be our first encounter with them. At the beginning of 2020, Austin and the surrounding area had a really bad thunderstorm/hail storm that knocked down a lot of trees in the Smithville area. The day after was our tour during the morning before a wedding started. As soon as we got there we saw Chris and his team clearing away all of the trees that had broken and getting rid of debris (immediately after a horrible thunderstorm) to make sure everything was perfect for the wedding happening later that day. When we saw this we knew that Red Ridge would do anything we needed to make our day special regardless of any bad circumstances. We toured a few other places before and I was never excited about them even if they were pretty. No where gave us a better feeling than Red Ridge and we drove away from our tour and immediately agreed it was the one. Planning a wedding is hard for someone who has literally never planned an event in their life and Red Ridge helped us navigate it so well. We had no worries at all the day of. Everything was taken care of, even the things you don’t think about. I can’t recommend Red Ridge enough. Edit: I completely forgot to mention that somehow I told every vendor and Red Ridge the ceremony started at 5, and put 5:30 on the website and invitations (see above about how I am not an event planner and not good at this lol) we realized it two days before the wedding and called Chris and he pushed everything 30 minutes back for us with no problem.

Even during such a challenging year as COVID, they ALWAYS had a positive attitude and solution worked up. Whenever we were stressed talking to them would ease everything. They also have a great list of contacts they provide you with to help find other services you need on your special day. The Venue - Multiple guests from our wedding day told us this is the BEST venue they have ever been too. The set up is perfect. The flow is perfect. The details are thought out and meaningful. The outdoor area makes it a great space to hold a Texas wedding filled with yard games, space to spread out and beautiful backdrops to take pictures. There is a bridal suite and grooms house that makes the day so much fun for both parties. Day of - From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception to the exit, everything went perfect. Everyone always says "don't sweat it on the big day something always goes wrong" but because of Chris and Bethany's planning and precision there was nothing that went wrong - not even a hiccup. If there was they handled it because we were never made aware. Everything was a dream. All in all, if your considering Red Ridge Receptions I highly recommend you move forward with them. Then there is Bethany who was the true ninja behind the scenes! Communicating with Bethany via email or phone was ALWAYS a pleasure. Bethany was also so timely with her responses, she was great about checking in and answering any questions or offering suggestions. I am not someone who enjoys events, especially a large event such as a wedding, BUT Bethany and Chris made the process so effortless with how organized they are. They have this whole process down pat, while still making Shawn and I feel as though we were their only clients! On the day of Chris and his team handled everything wonderfully, multiple members of my family and wedding party are still talking about The Red Ridge Team.
