The Baltimore Museum of Industry achieves the venue trifecta because of its quirky interiors, classic waterfront views, and knowledgeable staff. My husband and I were married on 9/15/2024 with a guest count of 155. The staff has extensive events experience without the venue feeling like a wedding factory. Jesse attended multiple venue walks with us and was highly responsive and candid which we really appreciated. He assisted with alcohol delivery, decor delivery, and more. Meril assisted on the wedding weekend was equally amazing and assisted our day-of planner with logistics and chair layout at The Point. She even printed up a special wedding keepsake on the printing press during the reception for my husband and me. We requested the Cannery and Print Shop be open during cocktail hour. In hindsight, guests were mingling and distracted during that time so just paying for one room to be open likely would have sufficed. Additionally, the bathrooms aren't particularly glamorous, which is understandable for an industrial museum, but something to note when considering guest experience. In conclusion, the BMI was fantastic and we would happily host an event there again.
The Baltimore Museum of Industry was the perfect venue for our wedding on September 29, 2024. From the beginning, the events team was incredibly responsive, attentive, and professional. They had a wonderful can-do attitude and were extremely flexible in accommodating all of our requests, from allowing us to drop off items early the Friday before to letting us come in for the busy Saturday rehearsal. The historic, beautiful, and energizing waterfront location was quintessentially Baltimore and truly made our special day feel unique and memorable. We are so grateful to the BMI events team for all their tireless efforts to make our wedding the best day of our lives. We would highly recommend this venue to any couple looking to get married in the Baltimore area.
Just WOW... our wedding day was the perfect dream come true and more! We cannot thank Jesse and the team at the BMI enough for all that they did to make everything possible.
Most of our guests came from out of town and this was the PERFECT location to introduce them to Baltimore. The views of the harbor in any weather are wonderful! We loved that the BMI had a beautiful indoor option, but thankfully the rain stopped right before our pictures and ceremony started! The staff is so kind and helpful! You get free admission to the museum before you're wedding so can go as much as you want to plan things out!
We also wanted to give a special shoutout to James and Jessica- They were wonderful the night before and throughout the celebration! Several other staff members were extremely helpful, but unfortunately didn't catch their names.
Thanks again for surprising us with the early installation of our brick- it made our day that much more perfect!
The BMI will forever have a special place in our hearts. We are so glad we got to introduce our families to Baltimore here!
The BMI is an absolutely wonderful venue! Jesse and Jesse were so great to work with and made sure our wedding ran smoothly. The views are gorgeous and the museum itself is so cool! We had so many guests come up to us saying that they loved wandering around and learning things while they enjoyed the party. We had a guest who fainted and one who threw their back out and Jesse and team made sure that everyone was well-taken care of. They all went above and beyond!
Everything was amazing. The communication was clear, the venue was spectacular and the pre-set list of caterers were great to choose from.
I cannot say enough good things about the Baltimore Museum of Industry. It is SUCH and amazing place for a wedding in perfect location- our guests are still raving! On top of that Kelley was a huge help throughout the planning process and was an absolute pleasure to work with.
We could not have had our wedding at a more perfect venue. We envisioned getting married by the water and BMI not only provided this but a completely unique and fun interior. We had to move our ceremony inside and it was just as beautiful with the entire harbor as our backdrop.
All our guests loved the exhibits and couldn’t get enough of the car for photos. After doing our initial walk through with Kelley it was a no brainer and we booked the next day. Angie was an absolute gem helping guide us through the rehearsal and timing for our ceremony. Everything was perfect and it was definitely due to her help and guidance throughout the night.
My husband and I wanted a very Baltimore wedding and this was the perfect location! We loved being right on the water and the museum itself was such a beautiful space for our guests. Everyone really enjoyed being able to see all of the Baltimore-based exhibits during cocktail hour and the place is so unique and special. Our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved it. The staff at BMI were so welcoming and had amazing communication during the entire process. They worked tirelessly to meet our needs and seamlessly partnered with the catering team to make our night perfect. We would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone.
The Baltimore Museum of Industry was the absolute perfect venue for our wedding. It's still incredible to me that we were married in such a special place. The outdoor location on the point for the ceremony was beyond what we had envisioned for the day, and we were comforted to know that even if it rained, we could still get married in such a beautiful location inside (those windows!).
From day one, Kelley from BMI was incredible to work with -- answering all of our questions, helping us prepare for the big day, and on the day-of being SO attentive. One example: Very few couples can say they actually ate on their wedding day, and Kelley made sure we did. :)
The museum itself is such an amazing space and I need to go back again to really take in the exhibits fully as a guest. Our guests loved walking around the museum during cocktail hour and we felt so proud to put Baltimore's best foot forward for our out-of-town guests, showing them the history of industry in Baltimore. We even got to put a video together to play in the theater during the cocktail hour, which was very special. This venue is absolutely everything I dreamed of for our big day and we don't have enough good things to say about getting married at the BMI!
The Baltimore Museum of Industry was the perfect venue for our wedding! We knew we wanted something different than the typical hotel ballroom, and the BMI absolutely delivered! Luckily, the weather cooperated, and we were able to have our ceremony outside right on the harbor. Our guests were able to see all the exhibits during cocktail hour, and museum staff was accessible to help answer questions. One of the best parts of having a wedding at the BMI is that you don’t have to decorate; the Decker Gallery exhibits speak for themselves! Lastly, the event staff was excellent to work with, especially Kelley. She was patient, attentive, and supported us throughout the entire process. It was more than a wedding; it was an experience. Our guests cannot stop talking about how great our venue was!
The venue was incredible and everything we imagined.
The best, most fun venue! Go visit the place to see if it's right for you. They're restricted to preferred vendors who we found ample. The rate is extremely reasonable. The decor is in-built (save your work decorating!). Parking is ample. The staff is terrific. 10/10 thumbs up!
We saw about 10 venues. Some were gorgeous, some were super hip industrial warehouses, and some were classy. We went with the BMI because it was not only so cool, but the museum also gave an atmosphere of levity that was really befitting of us as a couple. Additionally, we adored the support that the museum gave us. We worked with Kelley, who was fantastic. It was easy to perceive that Kelley had plenty of experience with plenty of weddings, so we felt that, however new we were to doing weddings on our end, the BMI was going to save us!
We got great advice, such as which of the preferred vendors were likely to be our best fit, and what kinds of additional decor we should use (minimal! don't gild this lilly!). We got great service, like helping to run the actual wedding.
If you're looking for a wedding with a little bit of "wow" and whimsy in addition to being really gorgeous, these are the guys!
Kelley at the BMI was an absolute rockstar for our wedding. From helping us with the top notch vendors for our event and even supporting us the night of the event, she ensured we had an amazing experience and our guests raved about the venue. She even had the color scheme on the crane outside changed to rainbow colors as we were a gay couple. The staff worked so well with our vendors, were so kind and friendly to our family and friends and I don't know that the night could've been more perfect!
We would 1000% recommend having their wedding reception at the BMI to our closest friends! The space is absolutely gorgeous, and you have access to practically the entire place when you book a wedding with them. Kelley was amazing to work with - she was friendly, knowledgeable, and able to work with us to make our dream wedding come true. Thank you!!
BMI is an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony & reception venue with so much to offer. We could not stop hearing from our wedding guests about how cool and beautiful the venue was. There are endless possibilities for wedding photos and we can’t wait to see a few of our exhibit photos. Having cocktail hour throughout the museum gave it an intimate but spacious feel.
Kelley and her team were phenomenal and made us feel like family from the start of our contract way back in 2019. Kelley was a great asset to have to answer any of our questions concerning ceremony chairs, layout, COVID requirements, and cocktail/reception general questions or concerns. It was an absolute pleasure having her there on the day of and we wouldn’t have wanted it any other way!
We looked at various venues and I am so glad we went with BMI. The location is perfect, right on the harbor with beautiful views of the city. The venue has its own gated parking lot which is extremely helpful in the city. The museum itself lends a unique and unforgettable atmosphere to any occasion. But most importantly, we had Kelley who worked with us throughout the whole COVID year, rescheduling several times, and on our wedding day, she ensured we had the wedding we had hoped for. Kelley made sure the entire day ran smoothly and I couldn’t imagine a better wedding day. Can’t recommend Kelley and the BMI enough!! Great experience. Great venue. Perfect wedding.
This venue is PHENOMENAL! Kelley Edelmann goes above and beyond. She answer your emails very fast and always gives great information to all of your questions. She was so comforting to me when I had anxiety during the pandemic. We booked in January of 2020 and our wedding was June 2021. There were so many ups and downs with covid restrictions and mask mandates. Kelley kept me calm and informed the entire time. Day of Kelley was super organized and friendly. She kept the party moving with no effort from us (the wedding couple). The venue is so UNIQUE. Our guests could not stop raving about the history and the cool museum features. We had kids at our wedding and they loved touching the exhibits and learning. This is the best venue in the Baltimore area, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
I cannot fit in this text box all the great things I have to stay about BMI and most importantly Kelley Edelmann. When my husband and I first looked at pictures online of BMI we were intrigued but I wasn't sold until we had our first tour. At that point, I was blown away. The view, the large space and the character is unmatched and you cannot find it anywhere else. WE are still getting compliments from guests that it was the coolest venue they had ever been to! That itself would have been enough to make it the best day ever but then they topped it off with Kelley. Kelley has the most calming, understanding and confident demeanor that the second I walked into BMI on my wedding day, any anxieties I had about the evening disappeared. She told us during our tour that we didn't need a day of coordinator because she would "handle it" She was NOT KIDDING. Her along with the caterer helped put our tables together, worked on timing and line ups and literally anything I could think of. She even gave directions to one of my not so tech savvy grandparents who got lost driving here. I mean, she does it ALL. From the bottom of my heart I thank Kelley for everything she did to make Wes and I's wedding day the most magical day of our lives.
Thank you to Kelley Edelmann and the team at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. We can't say enough about the AMAZING night we had for my daughter's wedding on 6-4-2021. It was just INCREDIBLE! The museum is such a cool venue for a wedding- waterfront outdoor area for a ceremony but also a magnificent floor to ceiling window wall where the ceremony could be if the weather was inclement. Zero stressing about the weather!! In the city but with a huge off street parking lot where we were able to load and unload our supplies and our guests could easily and safely park with ZERO stress! And then to top it off, Kelley Edelmann is the most professional, personable, kind and over the top helpful human you could ever want helping you plan for such a big day. She was there every step of the way and in a HUGE way the night of the wedding. We cannot say enough about Kelley and the magical night she made happen for our daughter and son-in-law and for everyone who attended! Thank you is just so insufficient, but THANK YOU!!! God bless you!
We were married at the Baltimore Museum of Industry in October of 2020 and we could not be happier with our experience. The staff (Claire, Kelly, and Angie) were incredible to work with. We are very happy with how they handled our COVID reschedule and on the day of the event Kelly helped us with every detail. They were so generous and professional and took as much stress out of the pandemic as they could. It’s clear that vendors love working with the BMI as they seem to have a great relationship with all of them. We really loved the views on the water - a true Baltimore Experience. A fantastic experience and we highly recommend them and cannot say enough good things about these people!
The BMI staff was great. They went beyond expectations to help make our Wedding Day special during the pandemic.
My husband and I had been so incredibly excited to have our April 2020 wedding reception at the BMI ever since we started looking into venues shortly after our engagement in November 2019. Kelley was absolutely amazing to work with. She was highly responsive to email, answered all of our questions thoroughly, and was eager to assist us with planning our wedding. At the start of the COVID19 pandemic when we found out we would have to postpone the reception due to city and state restrictions, Kelley was so understanding of our concerns and supported us as we navigated the difficult process of re-scheduling. After a need to re-schedule a second time, my husband and I decided to just cancel the reception entirely. The BMI was incredibly understanding and accommodating of our experience, and they offered us a full refund of all deposits made to the museum which we are very grateful for. We hope to do an anniversary party instead a few years from now when COVID is no longer interfering with life, and we definitely plan to have the event at the BMI!
We got married here back in October . Thought I wrote a review already ,but turns out I must have forgotten. From beginning to end our experience with the BMI was nothing short of amazing. We are still getting friends and family telling us that the venue was the best they've ever been to. The coordinator Kelly anne was ON POINT throughout the whole process. Any random silly question I had she was there to help. And let's not forget all of the amazing photo opportunities Have your wedding here, they will not disappoint!
Kellie and her staff were super easy to work with. They made us feel like family, especially when they let us bring our puppy to the ceremony too. Kellie was always quick to respond and didn’t think any of our questions were silly. The museum was spotless which made decorating easy and they even let us store most of our items the night before to make the day go as smooth as possible. It was perfect!
I cannot say enough great things about BMI. Kelley was amazing from the minute we were even interested in the venue - she responds to emails quickly and genuinely cares about doing her part in making your day a success. She is not only a great help, but a great person. I was thrilled to find out she would be there the night of our wedding and she was just as attentive and caring as I anticipated. As for BMI itself, I could not imagine having had our wedding anywhere else. The only thing we were a little bummed about when we booked is that you can't get married before 6:00 because the museum doesn't close until 4, but it ended up being perfect. We still did our first look and all wedding party and family photos prior to the ceremony starting at 3:15ish and we loved that. We got married on 11/2, the clocks switching that night, and originally were hoping to get married outside - we actually decided inside for the slight chilliness and darkness factors and we don't regret it one bit/felt it was just as beautiful. The sun setting in the background was unreal. Guests loved the atmosphere, the beauty and quirks of the museum, great photo opps, the stunning view of the harbor and the Domino Sugars sign. I could go on and on about this venue. Absolutely AMAZING experience!!
We had our wedding at the BMI in October 2019 and I can't rave about it enough! We worked with Kelley throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding--she was so helpful, responsive and put my mind at ease! The venue itself is so interesting--it has a lot of character on its own and needs very little added decor. Our friends and family continue to tell us how amazing our wedding was and how cool the museum is. The venue has beautiful water views, a huge parking lot, is close to hotels and is much more interesting than your standard ballroom. Thanks to the BMI for the best day ever!
Our wedding was incredible.
Kelley, our coordinator at the Museum was nothing short of AMAZING. She was so quick to respond to any and all of emails, answered all of my questions and just made my husband and I feel much more at ease.
This venue is so beautiful and there's so many amazing things you can do with it in terms of decorations and themes. So much creative freedom to take in with the Baltimore city scene.
Would definitely recommend
Incredible space and incredible staff. Very unique setting guaranteed to appeal to every single guest on some level or another. It is just too cool.
BMI was a great place to hold our wedding! We had the option for the outdoor ceremony and then did our reception inside. The venue was unique and beautiful. Kelley, our contact there, was extraordinarily helpful, responsive, and accommodating. We were super happy with our experience there and would definitely recommend it to any couple looking to get married on the Baltimore Harbor!
Amazing venue. All of our guests commented on how awesome it was to walk through the museum as well as on the breathtaking Baltimore Inner Harbor views. Staff very responsive and easy to work with.
Finding the perfect venue is probably one of the toughest decisions you will make when planning a wedding. For us, we wanted a venue that was welcoming, unique, centrally-located, and affordable. We toured a lot of venues that had one or two of those characteristics, but only BMI had it all. There's something special for every guest at this museum, as evidenced by all the people who would go on to tell us this was the coolest wedding venue they'd ever been to. The cherry on top was the staff. Kelley was a pleasure to work with. Unlike a lot of venues, she never tried to place the hard sale on us with anything. She was always easy-going and accommodating and took the stress out of everything. We must've asked her a thousand questions in months leading to our wedding, and she was always so helpful and responsive. She was also incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to other local vendor recommendations. We can't recommend this venue enough.
I did pretty extensive research on venues in the DMV area, and toured a number of them. BMI is simply the best one. The venue itself is stunning, the staff is incredibly helpful and accommodating, the back-up ceremony rain plan (indoors) is just as stunning as the outdoor one, there are tons of unique and beautiful on-site locations for photo ops...the list goes on. We also really liked that, while they do require clients to select their caterers from a list, the list isn’t just one or two caterers like some other Baltimore-area venues. BMI’s catering list is pretty extensive and still allows the client to choose from a number of different options and price points, which was important to us.
We had sooo many guests tell us that BMI was “stunning,” and the coolest venue they had ever been to. We couldn’t agree more! Thank you to Claire and everyone else at BMI who helped make our day so special.
Baltimore Museum of Industry was the PERFECT wedding venue! It is so unique and gorgeous on it's own, we didn't even need to really decorate, which I loved! Kelley helped us throughout the process and she was SO nice, responsive to all our questions, and super helpful! Thanks Kelley!! Booking the BMI for our venue was definitely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We got so many compliments from our guests, everyone couldn't stop telling us how cool the venue was! From the beautiful outdoor space on the harbor, to the city views, to all the awesome exhibits that people could explore, everything was absolutely perfect! Can't recommend this venue enough!
Highly suggest getting married and/or having your reception at BMI! I cannot speak highly enough of Claire, Kelley and their team. Everything was so seamless and Kelley was super helpful and so responsive whenever I had any questions. Would highly recommend to any and all newly engaged couples! The water views are to die for.
I highly recommend the Baltimore Museum of Industry as a wedding reception venue. The staff including Claire, Kelley, and Angie were very accommodating and professional throughout the planning process. There is a lot for guests to explore and see within the museum, in addition to the venue being very large and spacious. There is a beautiful view of the Baltimore harbor/skyline outside which is a wonderful backdrop for photographs. There is ample parking for guests and it is a very unique venue. We were very happy and pleased that we chose the Baltimore Museum of Industry!
Everyone could not stop talking about how unique and fun this venue was. Our guests toured the museum during cocktail hour, and they had a great time! The photos that we took outside with the Baltimore skyline turned out breath taking! Its an amazing backdrop, along with the BMI sign as well! Those that work the venue are so professional, Kelley helped coordinate our event, and leading up to our wedding if we would send her an email, she would respond within the hour or faster, which means so much! She was there during the event and helped everything run smoothly! Thankfully it did not rain on our wedding day so we could use up the entire space, but the inside space with the wall of windows to the Baltimore skyline makes for an amazing plan B ceremony space.
The BMI is a beautiful venue for a wedding, and their staff is second to none. We can’t say enough good things about Kelley Edelmann in particular. She was incredible to work with throughout booking the BMI, planning our wedding, and the event itself. They were able to make helpful suggestions about everything from photograph locations to processional and dance floor layouts. It was clear that Kelley and the whole BMI staff really cared and wanted to make our wedding a complete success.
My husband and I got married this past January at the Baltimore Museum of Industry. We visited this venue as an option at the behest of our wedding planner, and after walking through the industrial space with so many interesting exhibits and signage, we were smitten. The day of, the venue was a real hit. Our guests loved being able to walk through the museum during cocktail hour, and the big wall of windows overlooking the harbor was just beautiful. The space fit our 180 person wedding nicely.
This venue is amazing. We had our wedding party (not ceremony) there and our guests will not stop talking about how much they loved it. Kelley was super helpful and accommodating -- checking in regularly but not too often, letting us stop by multiple times to check out the venue. If you can swing it, I recommend renting out the cannery during cocktail hour. The docent is extremely knowledgeable and it makes the event all the more special and unusual.
I don't have the words to explain how happy we were with the BMI, from booking to planning to execution we could not have asked for better. Kelley was a dream to work with. Our guests have not stopped gushing about how wonderful it all was. It is a truly wonderful venue in every way. Thank you Kelley and the BMI for making our night so magical!
Absolutely AMAZING customer service at the BMI. We primarily worked with Claire & Kelley, and they were super pleasant to work with. They went above and beyond to make sure our special day was everything we ever wanted! The venue was perfect for our personalities and matched the overall theme of vintage/industrial Baltimore we were looking for!! 10/10 would recommend this place for any and all private events!
The BMI was honestly fantastic and exceeded my expectations as far as my wedding ceremony and reception went. We had our ceremony out on the pier, our cocktail hour in the transportation wing, and our reception in the Decker gallery. Between the decor and the amazing wall of windows with a view of downtown, this really was a picture perfect location for our wedding. They were easy to work with and very clear about what could and could not happen in the space. The one thing that I would call a very minor negative was the fact that the space did shift and change a bit between booking it and our wedding date. That said, we booked almost two years in advance and it is a working museum, so it's understandable. Our guests thought the venue was amazing and so unique and I cannot wait to see our professional photos!
We chose this venue because of the location, parking and basically because it's a very cool space. The staff was excellent to work with (especially Kelley) and the experience exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend the BMI for any looking for a wedding venue!
The BMI went above and beyond our expectations! First off all, the people at BMI are the most helpful, attentive, caring people. They made me feel like our wedding was the most important event going on at the BMI. When I had questions, I always got immediate responses from Kelley. She had answers and solutions for everything I needed. The museum is a beautiful setting both inside and out. The ceremony was outside on the patio and couldn't have been better. The view of the city skyline, the activity on the water and the evening sunset is perfect! The reception was inside and was elegant. There is no need for expensive decorations because the museum offers such a beautiful backdrop. I had votive candles in the wall of glass windows and simple candles in jars on the tables. Our guests could walk through the museum, dance, walk outside on the pier and enjoy the sunset and city lights on the water. I am 110% happy with our selection of the BMI and strongly recommend having your wedding there! They have it all!!
We are so happy that we chose the Baltimore Museum of Industry for our wedding. The harbor made a perfect backdrop for our ceremony on the Industry Terrace. We had our reception in the Decker Gallery which was a fun place for guests to check out exhibits and celebrate. Our guests are still raving about our amazing venue. The staff at BMI were wonderful to work with and having free parking available for guests in the city is a big plus! Thank you so much for helping us host our special day!
This venue was awesome! We ended up having a much smaller guest count than we originally anticipated (we invited more than 150 and ended up in the low 80s, due to a lot of people living very far away), but it didn’t feel too spacious even though it could have handled hundreds more people, because of the way they set up the space Since it is essentially a large open rectangle, there aren’t many limitations on how they can arrange your tables/dance area/seating. We also did our ceremony indoors because of heat and rain, and it was still beautiful in front of the wall of glass windows facing out on the harbor. We loved working with Kelley who is a really cool, down-to-earth and extremely helpful person. They were very accommodating and responsive.
The exhibits are built-in entertainment for your guests, and a lot of fun. We also paid to have the Cannery open during the cocktail hour, and it was a nice touch to allow everyone to walk around the museum while the food was being set up. (In case you’re interested, we went with Rouge Catering - I believe the museum has a list of approved caterers, and Rouge is on this list. They are very familiar with this venue and didn’t need any help figuring out set up arrangements or coordination).
My only constructive criticism: I made a video to play in the theater room (I highly recommend doing this, it was so fun and all the guests loved it), but I would heartily suggest watching the entire video all the way through on the big screen before the event! My video was cut off towards the end unfortunately, it wasn’t a huge deal but it probably could have been avoided. Also, the first time through, the video crashed so I had to run get the event manager - again not a huge deal but perhaps we should have played it all the way through once before the event started to make sure it would run smoothly. I think that is a very minor issue, which was half my own fault. Other than that, everything was perfect!
Our daughter and son-in-law chose The Baltimore Museum of Industry for their wedding. They wanted a unique location that fit their personalities. It was just an amazing choice. The ceremony took place outside overlooking the water and the night shots with the buildings and lights in the background were stunning. The venue offered so much for our guests to enjoy. During the cocktail hour they were able to visit the different areas of the museum to see all it had to offer.
Claire and Kelley could not have been easier to work with and accommodated every request that we had. They made the process very easy and was such a pleasure to work with. Kelley was there the entire day with us to be sure that anything we needed was taken care of.
I cannot say enough about The BMI and would recommend anyone having a wedding or party to consider The BMI.
BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING!!! This venue is absolutely perfect and we are so happy that we had our wedding reception there!!! Between the displays and the panoramic views of the harbor -- everything was great. The BMI was easy to work with , responsive, and took care of our needs. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our 190 guests. The dance floor (with a band) was plentiful and at night, the guests were able to enjoy the patio outside as well.
The Museum of Industry was the perfect place for our wedding! We loved working with Kelley and Claire in planning our big day. They were so understanding and helpful through the whole process. The Museum itself was perfect. We were able to have the wedding backdrop that we desired even with our rainy wedding day. I never felt like I had missed out on an outdoor ceremony because it was so beautiful inside! Fun pictures and plenty of space for everyone!
BMI, you’re the best! Kelly and Claire are super! All of our guests loved the museum, thought my daughter’s wedding was the best ever! Many thanks to everyone! It was the ultimate B-more affair! Kelly, thank you so much for all of your special attention on my daughter’s night! Can’t wait to see pictures from the photographer s!
Kelley and Angie were absolute angels. From our first consultation to our wedding day, they did everything they could to help things run smoothly. This space perfectly matched our Baltimore upbringings. The scenery was perfect for our photos, and there was plenty of space for or guests. Booking the BMI was one of the best decisions we made. Many thanks again, Kelley!!!
The BMI is amazing and our wedding guests are still talking about the venue a month later. I can't say enough and wish we could do it all over again we had such a blast! The staff was professional and friendly from the very beginning. We realize they do a ton of weddings but Kelley made us feel like we were her only focus. The dancing space was big enough that the partiers could have fun as much as the older guests like my grandmother. We had 197 and it didn't feel crowded. Turned out beautifully! Highly highly highly recommend!!!!
The BMI is the coolest place to get married in Baltimore! It's such a unique venue, and is different than anything you'll find in the area. So many people came up to us at the wedding and were raving about how much they loved our venue! The people were amazing too-they were quick to think on their feet when we'd planned an outdoor ceremony and the weather took a turn for the worse. I'd recommend the BMI to anyone looking to get married in Baltimore!!
Even before getting engaged, I knew the BMI was the venue in which I wanted to have my wedding. And after taking my now husband for the first time, he was immediately on board with the idea. Once we got engaged, we didn’t even bother looking anywhere else. From the get go, we knew we made the right decision. We had the pleasure of working with Kelley throughout the planning process and to say she is amazing is an understatement. Even on the day of the wedding, she went above and beyond to ensure that we did not have to worry about a single thing beyond enjoying ourselves. So if you’re looking for a wedding venue with an amazing and ultra-accommodating staff, expansive water views, interesting and interactive exhibits for guests, and the knowledge that the money you’re paying is going toward keeping this wonderful and unique museum open, look no further.
This is going to look like I cut and pasted from a bunch of the other reviews raving about the staff, but I promise I am attempting to craft this using my own words. There are a ton of beautiful venues all over DC and Baltimore, but ultimately what I think I loved most about this venue was the staff. Because cool, unique, reasonable in price, plenty of free parking (you think about this when you are based out of DC and most of your “local” guest will drive) and tons of other aspects the BMI has are important. For me, the responsiveness of the staff (like Kelley) to *any* email I had and the confidence they give you from the very first meeting of “yes, these professionals (like Angie) know how to run weddings” are what it really came down to in why I picked this place for our ceremony and reception. If I can give any advice to someone that is looking at these reviews and wondering…hmmm…should I check out the BMI? I would advise you – just go look at it and meet them. Then I bet you’ll see why so many of these reviews are raving about their staff. They are absolutely a big reason my wedding day went so well.
There is no place on this planet more magical for a winter wedding. I can barely put in to words what this venue means to my Husband and I.
When we first visited the museum, I saw this space and said “wouldn’t it be so cool to be married here?” But when we got engaged, we thought we’d never make it happen.
From day one of this process, Kelley, Claire and team were AMAZING. We visited on a Sunday and they walked us through everything- set up, cost, timing, their upcoming Wedding show, exhibit bits, when we could visit for walk-through, what to expect the weekend of, EVERYTHING. We quickly reached out about a date and got set up.
Throughout the process, I relied on Kelley for advice on vendors, decor, layout, getting our insurance and more. No email went unanswered, they actually exceeded every expectation.
During our rehearsal, I was a bit nervous. However, they managed to wrangle 20+ people and get everyone excited! They made sure everyone who was walking was comfortable and had their moment.
The day of was beyond our wildest dreams. Kelley unlocked the dock for our first look- a special moment as we had once sunk a boat just outside the museum. She also helped organize our set up and ensured everyone made it in for the ceremony. She was present for the entire day, whenever we needed her.
I can’t really express how grateful we are to the BMI team for making our dreams a reality for the very best day of our lives.
When my husband and I were looking for a unique venue in Baltimore, the BMI was the perfect choice! We had an indoor evening wedding and the view of the harbor, even from inside, was amazing. Guests were raving about all the different rooms and loved having a docent available during cocktail hour to explain parts of the museum to them. We worked with Kelley during the planning process and she made everything so simple. On the day of, we had some one there to help with ceremony set up and to make the night run smoothly, there was no need for a day of planner! I cannot recommend this place enough; if you what a unique experience for your guests the BMI is absolutely the place for your wedding!
When we first began planning our wedding, we knew we wanted to hold our reception somewhere memorable. From our first visit at the BMI, we we certain that it was a place that our guests would never forget. We had the most incredible experience working with the Baltimore Museum of Industry. Claire and Kelly do a wonderful job suggesting vendors, helping to coordinate vendors the night of the event, and making sure everything runs smoothly. Our guests had an incredible time, and we had a gorgeous backdrop to celebrate one of the most important events of our lives.
i planned my own wedding without the help of a planner, and I cannot stress enough how much holding our reception at the BMI eased the process for me. Claire made sure that we had a meeting in the weeks leading up to the wedding, and worked with our caterer to establish both a rain and shine plan. We loved having our cocktail hour on the deck, which was a beautiful setting for photographs, and then moving the party inside for the rest of the night. The space is perfect for a wedding of 150-200 people, and the shape of the room lends itself to getting people on the dance floor. We also loved having things for our guests to do (wander the museum) if they weren't as in to dancing. We would absolutely book the BMI again, and look forward to having somewhere to visit to relive our wedding day! (All Photos are Photography By Brea)
If you want an elegant, classy, and eclectic space for your wedding venue, look no further. THE BMI and it’s staff Kelley and Angie are the best of the best. They are down to earth and are eager to ensure your wedding is flawless and nothing but the best. We will be recommending the BMI for years to come and stop by every chance we get!
Everyone at the BMI was extremely helpful, courteous, and attentive to all of our needs. We could not be happier with our experience and we've continued to get amazing feedback from our guest in response to how beautiful the venue was. Thank you thank you thank you!
