Amy and I planned our own wedding and picking BrightWorks was both easy and rewarding. Stephen, Rebecca and Gabe are such talented, warm professionals. It was really a pleasure to chat with Stephen and Rebecca through the planning process and on the big day they were unobtrusive but somehow managed to capture incredible, intimate moments. The team clearly has a deep knowledge of wedding photography and came prepared with suggestions for how the day should go - from candids to special planned moments. But they were also open to our input and altered their plans to suit our requests. We are absolutely thrilled with the pictures we got from BrightWorks. There's some of my notoriously photo-shy family members that I'll cherish nearly as much as the photos of my wife and I together. I can't recommend highly enough the photographers of BrightWorks. You'll get a wonderful catalog of your event from amiable, talented and kind photographers.

Steve and Rebecca made our Acadia NP elopement something very special! While working with them, my husband and I had nothing but the utmost confidence in them. They are thorough, professional, friendly, personable, and creative. They captured every aspect of our elopement, every smile, every laugh, every emotion throughout the day. When looking back at our photos, it's like we are able to step right back into the moment and relive it! They made sure to help make the day as smooth and fun as possible. I don't know what we would have done without them!

Steven, Rebecca, and Gabe were an amazing team to work with. Steve shot our engagement photos at Popham Beach, and immediately made us feel at ease as we weren't used to being photographed. When our big day finally came, we felt fully prepared thanks to their pre-planning calls and scheduling of the day. It really helped us be in the moment and fully enjoy each moment. We couldn't be happier with the end result, and hope to work with them again when possible! If you want a down to earth, professional and detail orientated team, then look no further.

We had a wonderful time working with Steve, Rebecca and Gabe. They are highly organized, prepared, and easy going. This team of talented photographers are extremely professional. They scheduled planning sessions with us and even brought helpful material to help us get ready for the big day. Steve taught us how to pose and gave us direction the entire time. Not one person had their eyes closed! They check all their photos to ensure you are going to love them before they move on to a new group shot. The effort they put in is top notch! They are also very fairly priced and do not over charge you. I found them to be extremely generous with there time and efforts. I am so pleased with Brightworks. I get compliments all the time on our photographs. They are truly a great company and great people. We continue to stay in touch with them as we have built a nice relationship with them. They even did our engagement photos as well and included our 5 week old son. Talk about accommodating and patient!

If you are looking for a photography team that is the perfect mix of modern and traditional, adventurous but classic, you might want to meet BrightWorks. Steven and Rebecca were always quick to respond to us as we were planning our elopement with them from 8 hours away. They were so patient with us as we were indecisive on our ceremony location, and gave recommendations based on our interests and vision. We immediately felt comfortable upon meeting in person, and you can tell by the photos. I forgot almost everything I needed (including my bouquet) in the car and Rebecca hiked back out to get it! They even helped us push our wedding a day early to avoid a rainy, 40 degree morning, and have a beautiful sunset ceremony. Having the perfect collection of photos was important to us, since our family couldn't be there, but Rebecca and Steven captured every moment so beautifully, and not a single second was missed. We hope to work with them again in the future!

We’re so happy with BrightWorks Photography! Steve and his daughter, Rebecca were an absolute pleasure to work with. We planned our wedding in Vermont from Seattle, so we initially met over Zoom. We were instantly attracted to their calm energy. It was important to us to work with a photographer that put us at ease because neither of us was excited to have a camera follow us around all day. Steve and Rebecca were the perfect fit. Steve took a photojournalistic approach at our request because we felt the interactions between family and friends were more important than photos of objects or scenery. Not only did Steve deliver on exceptional photographs, but he also helped plan the whole wedding with the understanding that photography dictates much of the timeline. He played an active role in fine-tuning the schedule so we could achieve the slow, comfortable pace that we wanted. His insight into the wedding planning process helped the day run incredibly smoothly and on time! Steve learned the names of our closest family and friends in advance to help with the ease of photography on our wedding day, above and beyond! We're so grateful we had the opportunity to work with Steve and Rebecca, and to support a small family business!

Steve, Rebecca, and Gabe are fantastic to work with – they are incredibly professional and personable and captured every part of our wedding day with the most beautiful photos. The attention to detail and care comes through across all stages of the process. We had many conversations prior to the wedding, and I really appreciated how much effort Steve put into understanding our vision for the day, scouting out locations ahead of time, and helping with our day of timeline. We ended up needing to pivot on part of the plan due to weather but felt totally at ease thanks to the team’s flexibility and well-trained eye. Our pictures came very quickly after the wedding and I’m so grateful to have such beautiful mementos of our big day!

We loved working with Brightworks. Steve and Rebecca made us feel comfortable from our first conversation with them over Zoom. They provided really helpful guidance on scheduling our day, group photos, and more. But most importantly, they respected our vision and worked with our unique setting at a summer camp to capture our day. Leading up to our wedding, they took the time to really understand our needs and get to know not just us, but the other members of our wedding party. Steve and Rebecca were super flexible when bad weather struck, helping us get beautiful outdoor photos even on a rainy day. They were fun to be around! Because they are a family team, they made us and our families feel comfortable posing and kept a lighthearted tone. We barely noticed they were taking photos during our ceremony, but some of the photos they got are our favorites from the whole day. They were incredibly prompt after our wedding, getting photos back within 3 weeks. We LOVE our photos and look at them all the time. They captured details, joy, and beauty on our wedding day. We can't recommend them enough!

Stephen did an amazing job on our engagement photos, I cannot wait until he shoots our wedding. I do not typically like having my photo taken or like the way I look in photos, so I am just so impressed with the way they turned out - I love them! Stephen made us feel comfortable in front of the camera, was open to our ideas, and just captured us perfectly. It's such a relief to know that he'll be behind the camera on our wedding day!

Brightworks Maine, and specifically Steve and his daughter Rebecca, were absolutely incredible to work with! From the preparation calls determining all of the minute details, to blending in with the surroundings in order to capture the surprise, to the first-class pictures, my fiancé and I could not ask for a better moment. Not only did they capture the moment perfectly, but they helped plan the entire event, were easy to pivot when the rain was coming, and got our photos to us in more than a prompt manner. Excluding putting a ring on my fiancé's finger, Brightworks was the most sure thing through the whole experience! I would more than recommend them to anyone when it is time to capture not just an engagement, but any special moment. It is well worth it, and something our families will treasure and appreciate forever.

We would highly recommend Stephen and his team! We worked with Stephen for both our engagement photos and our wedding day From our first meeting Stephen put us at ease, was flexible and professional. It is clear that he knows what he is doing and more importantly, he enjoys it. We were originally attracted by the vibrant outdoor photos in his portfolio since we knew we would be having an outdoor wedding and Stephen was able to make our locations/backdrops pop! During the wedding they were very discreet and aside from the formal portraits we barely knew they were there. Our pictures are beautiful and we would 100% work with Stephen, Rebecca and Gabe again!

Steve, Rebecca, and Gabe were wonderful to work with. Steve familiarized himself with who was who in our wedding party before we met in person for the first time. Prior to our wedding day, Steve and Rebecca scouted out our wedding and reception venues--meticulously taking the time to consider the best locations for lighting and the most scenic spots. They also gave us posing tips! Their attention to detail was above and beyond anything we had hoped for and it showed in their beautiful photos.

Me and my partner planned to elope in Maine. I reached out to several photographers. Many of them offered very high price which we can’t afford. We were lucky to find Steve and his team. The first time we talked to Steve, I felt that we met the right person. He was very professional and supportive. He gave us so much information. He provided us an excellent service. His work quality is the best and the pictures came out amazing. We are totally satisfied with his work. We definitely recommend anyone to use him and his team.

Stephen photographed our wedding on Thursday, September 17th, 2020. He had no problem taking us mid-week, which helped us score the most beautiful views in Acadia without too many background stragglers. He knew the area very well and had hiked all over there before. He coached us through the map of the area and sent us plenty of reference photos. I’m glad he did, because we ended up selecting a much better ceremony location! On the day of the wedding, Stephen called us to coordinate arrival and was in the area early. He brought me flowers because he knew my original florist had fallen through, this was so sweet and touching, I could not believe how much he genuinely cared about us having a beautiful wedding! When we got there, he led us to the Asticou Azalea Garden which was breathtaking, I had no idea the place existed, or that it would give us some of my favorite photos in the world. We visited one other location before heading over to the ceremony spot, caught come lovely wide-angle views that are awesome for a hallway series, I can’t wait until we have a bigger house and I can hang more of these babies up! Stephen was kind, caring, professional, and knowledgeable. He took a lot of factors into consideration to make sure that our shots came out just right. When I look at the set (which is huge) I see stunning composure, clarity, lighting, and focus. I see our wedding exactly as I remember it, bright and beautiful. I can’t recommend BrightWorks Photography enough. Easily the best purchase of the wedding, with the photos in my hand, I can easily say they’re worth far, far more to me than we paid.

Working with Steve was a great experience. He is extremely professional, personable and has great insight. As a couple we are not used to being photographed but we absolutely loved the experience and felt both beautiful and handsome in the photographs we received back. Steve allowed us to be ourselves and was able to capture the spirit of our connection so beautifully. We just did a “dry run”/ engagement photos and we cannot wait for our wedding day and to work with him again. His photographic eye is unique and highly skilled to capture you for you while also being able to have that image be a cover of a bridal magazine! We are beyond happy with our choice of asking Steve to be our wedding photographer and to be apart of our special day!

My wife and I had to completely replan our wedding due to COVID. BrightWorks and Stephen were phenomenal. With almost no notice and a last second booking, Stephen still made time to meet with us before the wedding and scout the venue for the areas with the best light and background. Stephen was able to expertly make suggestions while respecting the general idea my wife and I had for the photos. The result was truly beautiful photos of our ceremony, family, and my wife and I. Stephen has an clear passion for his work and provided my wife and I service and pictures beyond anything we could have expected when completely replanning our wedding last second.

Steve shot our engagement photos and we could not be happier with the process and the result. I had originally asked Steve to shoot a surprise proposal with my now financee at Marshall Point lighthouse, but due to COVID, we couldn't get up to Maine for the proposal. However, Steve regularly kept in touch with me, and I ended up asking Steve to shoot our engagement photos. We were highly impressed with the level of communication with Steve throughout the process. Steve is the definition of a true professional. Steve helped us pick our locations and advised and directed us all throughout the shoot. Steve's knowledge and professionalism made the shoot an easy and smooth process for us. Not only did Steve meet our expectations, but he fully exceeded them. After the shoot, we didn't have to wait long to receive the final photos, and we were thrilled with how they turned out. We can't recommend Steve enough. If you're looking for a photographer that is communicative, easy to work with, and really knows photography, then Steve is your guy. 5/5, highly recommend.

Stephen at BrightWorks Photography is a gem. He put in untold pre-wedding hours helping us situate the wedding arch to take advantage of the view and the beautiful afternoon light, he helped calm day-of jitters, and he knew the names of all members of the two families before he had met any of us. The resulting photographs are gorgeous--and perfectly capture the personalities and spirit of the day. This was a downsized Covid-19 wedding and was planned in a bit of a rush, but we couldn't have found a better photographer if we had searched for a year.

My husband and I have worked with many other professional photographers for other events, friends weddings, and different shoots. When we give Steve a 5 star review we don’t do it lightly. We are so thrilled with his work and are confident that you will be also.

The BrightWorks team were so fun to work with! They made us feel super special and accommodated our every request. Starting from an engagement (getting to know you) shoot 10 months prior to the wedding, all the way to the photo book delivery (just a few months after our wedding day), we felt like everything we needed was taken care of. One thing we had been stressed out about was taking up too much time with the post wedding photo shoot, and missing out on spending time with family and friends at our cocktail hour. BrightWorks came up with a solution. The morning of our wedding they figured out a special photo taking route through our venue's gorgeous open fields, up and down romantic woodland paths, and then straight back up to the cocktail hour - all within the span of 20 minutes! We did a quick rehearsal that morning, taking no more than 30 minutes out of our busy day, and it was such a relief knowing exactly when and where we would be going to take our pictures. Later that afternoon, when we took the photos for real, it was such a blast and we laughed and smiled our way through the photo taking. Already knowing the route and time expectation we were able to bask in the glow of being a newly married couple! And true to their word, we were done with the couple photos in 20 short minutes. When we got the link to the photos on the BrightWorks website just 2 weeks later we were blown away by the quality of the shots. It felt as though the same emotions we'd been feeling in the moment were brought out in the color and tone of the photographs. And then just as great was the ability to capture the full chronological timeline of the wedding and remember things we'd certainly forgotten e.g. timing of certain speeches, who was sitting where, the setup of our escort table etc. It was truly a comprehensive package of photography, service, and personal care. Thank you again to the BrightWorks crew!

Steve did a tremendous job photographing our wedding. We cannot say enough good things about our overall experience from start to finish! Leading up to the Wedding, Steve met with us on a few occasions and was very proactive on reaching out asking questions and helping us finalize our day- of timeline so it would go as smoothly as possible, which it did! Steve visited our ceremony/photo location with and even without us, to get a good idea of what type of pictures we were looking for and a good idea of the lighting for the time our ceremony and photos would be taken at to make sure they were nothing but perfect. His Daughter and Son in Law helped him the day-of so they could juggle being at two places at once and they all did a beautiful job to capture every moment. There was never a time we felt rushed or overwhelmed as they were all so professional and comfortable to be around. When we received the photos, we really felt they captured the entire day and night with such elegance. the photos were stunning. Steve worked with us to further edit the photos we chose to keep, tweaking little things as not much at all was needed to be edited except a stray hair from the wind, etc. We highly recommend BrightWorks Photography if you are looking for someone who is very experienced, extremely professional and a joy to work with.

I cannot recommend BrightWorks enough! Steve and his team captured every moment of our wedding day in Kennebunkport beautifully. 8 months later and I'm still in awe of every single photo as each one is truly exquisite!

Steve and his team did an outstanding job photographing my daughter's wedding. They were everywhere without being intrusive and captured the most beautiful images throughout the day. Steve's attention to detail from the planning stages to post wedding pictures was amazing. He is a perfectionist in his work and his pictures show it.
