About this vendor
Located in Tallapoosa, GA, Sweet Meadow Farm is a romantic and picturesque wedding venue. Situated in a scenic, secluded glen, it offers a charming setting for intimate celebrations of love. The property stretches over 134 acres and is home to various sites of natural beauty. This includes forests, creeks, and ponds, for breathtaking backdrops to your wedding photos.
Owner of Sweet Meadow Farm, Melissa Wallis wants to share the unique charm of this setting with couples as they commemorate their love. She sees the farm as a way to give to-be-weds and their loved ones time to truly experience every part of their day. She works closely with our engaged couples to help them make the most of this beautiful space and bring their vision to life.
Following a ceremony at one of our 3 beautiful sites, the newlyweds and their guests can retire to a reception in the adjacent antique barn. Its bright red roof and clean white exterior signify the venue's blend of modern elegance with tradition. The lush green surroundings, meanwhile, are a classic backdrop for portraits and photos. If the weather obliges, receptions can also be set up in the courtyard outside the barn. Melissa is happy to give you a list of vendors she recommends to help streamline the planning process further. The barn also offers a range of event rentals to simplify setting up the space.

We literally had the wedding of our dreams at Sweet Meadow Farm!
The place is soooo beautiful, but it doesn’t end just there like so many other venues.
It has this peaceful, calming vibe that just makes you want to be there forever!
And the staff are amazing!
They made sure our day went by as smoothly as possible… Melissa was especially super attentive to details and anytime I started feeling stressed or nervous all I had to do was look at her and talk to her and I felt so much better.
Couldn’t recommend this venue more!
I could not say more AMAZING things about this venue and the new owners, Melissa and Russ, the included day of coordinator, Rosemary, and the whole Sweet Meadow staff.
The venue alone is a breathtaking space, but the TEAM is what made our wedding day a seamless production. Not only are they the kindest people, but they really know what they’re doing at Sweet Meadow to help a bride feel confident that they are in good hands during the whole planning process and day of. Melissa and Rosemary were so accommodating and always prompt to answer any questions I had along the way. It clearly shows that this isn’t their first rodeo. I toured over 15 venues across Atlanta, but what you get at Sweet Meadow is next to none and would recommend 1000%!
The venue is beautiful and exactly what I dreamed of for my wedding day. My wedding coordinator, Stephanie was awesome and went above and beyond for me. She was so kind, helpful, and focused! She made sure everything I envisioned was fulfilled. However, I am not pleased with the few interactions I had with the owner, Melanie. She was quite cold and opinionated about everything. She is not a pleasant person to work with. She is very blunt and doesn’t care what you want if she doesn’t approve of it. They also penny pinch you for so many things as the day gets closer when you’re already spending so much for the venue. Her husband, Don, was very pleasant to work with. He was very flexible and kind. I want to recommend this venue but it’s hard because I’m not sure the beauty of the facility outweighs the hassle it is to deal with Melanie. When you’re in the wedding business, you should aim to make things fun and exciting for your brides. I dreaded reaching out to her every single time.
IDE AND GROOM BEWARE!!!!!!!!
Initially we had plans to wed at Sweet Meadows, after some change of heart and serious consideration the big wedding wasn't what we wanted. We paid our deposit in December and canceled our event in early May 6 1/2 months before our original scheduled date. It took us over a month to get a cancellation contract! Also in the Sweet Meadows contract make sure you read everything!!!! They have no cancellation agreement. Nothing that protects you as a client. Nothing but twisted verbiage and made up lies along the way. Anything you have paid will be lost!!!!!!!! Thousands of dollars were lost on this place. Not just a simple deposit which we expected. But everything. Even if there is plenty of time to re-book. Melanie not once picked up the phone to contact us. Everything was handled through Don. Who is pleasant, but unfortunately it is obvious who calls the shots. Melanie. A conversation with Don about getting what we have spent towards our date would go well, then we would receive emails stating we would not receive anything back. Some of the reasons we were told they cannot pay back what is owed is it costs too much to give tours, about a hundred dollars each time the venue is show. Might I add when we came to visit Sweet Meadows it was set up for ANOTHER WEDDING! So no cleaning or preparation would've taken place to show us the venue... it was also raining... and we waited to be shown the venue because the staff was late. Oh! but don't be late! Melanie will text you to make sure you are on time because her time (not yours) is valuable! Also while visiting the venue it was asked what the cancellation policy is and Rosemary replied you will be refunded except for the deposit (which is expected for any event space). The staff is not aware of any of the policies at this venue!!! It's not their fault, it's all made up as they go anyways. Melanie wouldn't survive without the kindness from her staff. That is the only way this place survives. And that is also the only way I could get her to respond to any emails, and forget phone calls. If you are going to manipulate people out of money you could at least pick up a phone and have a decent conversation. Overall this venue practices terrible business. I work in the event industry and caterers don't even want to work with her!!!! Please take my advice and stay away!!!!!!!! Let my loss be a lesson learned to all newly engaged couples!!!!!!!
My husband and I had our dream wedding at Sweet Meadow Farm in April! This venue is hands down the most beautiful venue I have ever seen (I may be bias but I visited a LOT of venues before choosing this one and I've been to a LOT of weddings). Melanie, the owner, has impeccable taste in decor. My mom is an interior designer and she could not get over how gorgeously decorated this venue is! Every little detail is accounted for. Judy and Rosemary helped us on the day of our wedding. They both are fantastic! They helped me so much. They are kind and they truly listened to me and my desires for the day. I couldn't be happier with my experience. I am so glad I chose Sweet Meadow. I wanted to get married at this venue so bad that I waited another 7 months! They didn't have a fall 2018 date available, so my husband and I waited until the end of April 2019 and it was completely worth it!
I wanted to begin by saying the venue is breathtaking. The venue alone is a 5 star. The staff of ladies that handled the rehearsal and wedding day were very accommodating and sweet. They seemed at times a little stressed. Rosemary was a sweet and professional lady. The reason for my 3 star review is due to my experience with the owner (Melanie). As you know your wedding day can be a most stressful time. My first experience with Melanie was when we first phoned her to set up a time to see the venue. We happened to arrive about 15 to 20 min early. She had not arrived at the venue. We were met by her husband, who was very accommodating. I told him we were there to meet his wife. He was in his golf cart and offered to show us around until his wife arrived. He then phoned her while I was sitting in the cart. She begin raising her voice telling her husband she couldn't come right now and that we had arrived to early. She was very upset. I guess we should have left right then when I heard the phone conversation. She never showed up. Had it not been for her husband we would have left right then. I never met Melanie until the day of my daughters wedding. This was NOT the only not so nice experience I had with Melanie. FIRST IMPRESSIONS say a lot about the person. I overlooked this one, which I shouldn't have. When you own a business like this you need to have a heart for it. It can't be all about business. All in all my daughter had a beautiful wedding. We had great vendors which we hand picked our selves, that were NOT from the Sweet Meadows vendor list. TO CONTROLLING ***Make sure that you get what you paid for. RECOMMENDATION: When your clients wedding day is going to be a hot one, you need to provide fans or some kind of circulation. The hand held paper/stick fans don't get it nor sitting under a big oak tree. It was an evening wedding in October. The temp was 91. Owner needs to be a little more accommodating and cordial to your clients guests, especially when they are needing directions to the venue and get lost. Doesn't matter if its on the website. The venue is the only selling point and speaks for itself.
The minute we visited Sweet Meadows, I knew it would where I wanted to have my wedding. The atmosphere is so calming it called to me. The beautiful house with a gorgeous bridal suite, to the barn which is decorated perfectly and southern, to the many ceremony spots... I cannot express how easy it was to work with the crew at Sweet Meadows. They took care of me and my husband and our families. Rosemary was our day of coordinator and we all loved her to pieces. Thank you again Sweet Meadows for making our day so memorable. Our friends and family could not stop raving over how gorgeous the venue was!
Sweet Meadow was the second venue I visited and I knew immediately it was where I wanted to get married. Not only is it beautiful but the staff made the day so easy for me as the bride (me). They remembered all of the little details I overlooked. Melanie and her team have created the most unique space. You honestly don't need to spend any money on decor because Sweet Meadow has it all. I cannot thank Melanie, Holly, and Jessica enough working with me for the past year. They took the time to care about making my day perfect for me and Joe! I strongly recommend having your wedding here!!!!
My experience with Sweet Meadow was OVER THE TOP from day one of booking the venue. As mother of the bride, I was a little hesitant that my daughter selected a venue four hours from where I live. When I went to visit for the first time, I could see why my daughter fell in love with Sweet Meadow. It is absolutely beautiful. Melanie, Jessica, Holly and Don are so easy to work with and guided us through each and every decision in the planning process. It was like having a wedding planner that we did not have to hire. So much is included with the package that you don’t have to worry about decorating. Beautiful farm tables, chairs, unique décor, linens, golf carts for shuttling, etc are all provided. I could go on and on about this topic. You just need to see for yourself. They work so well with the vendors, which makes the whole planning process so much easier. The bridal suite in the main house made it so much fun for the bridesmaids to get there at 9:00 am the day of the wedding and spend all day together getting their hair and makeup done before the 5:00 ceremony. The groomsmen had their own suite as well. They made sure that the groom and bride did not see each other before the ceremony. Lunch was provided at Sweet Meadow for the entire wedding party, including the parents. Holly was our day of coordinator (provided by Sweet Meadow), and she was both professional and wonderful to work with. She made sure every detail was attended to. The cake platter that I brought ended up being too small for the wedding cake. Melanie immediately came to the rescue and had a perfect one that we could use. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Melanie and Don Hobert and their staff. I highly recommend Sweet Meadow for your wedding venue. I give it a MILLION STARS!
I had an absolutely amazing experience at Sweet Meadow and with the entire staff! The "slow wedding movement" that Sweet Meadow advertises could not be more accurate! I felt completely stress-free the day of my wedding. The staff was so amazing and helpful the day of - I didn't ever have to worry about a thing. You get so much out of your contract with Sweet Meadow, and every penny that you spend is 100% worth it! It was so easy to communicate with Melanie, the day-of coordinator, and the rest of the Sweet Meadow team through their online portal. I was able to get feedback and responses to my questions very quickly - day or night, pretty much! I felt very much taken care of, which was a huge support because my mother and bridesmaids all live in a different states. Even though weddings happen at Sweet Meadow all the time, the day was made to feel SO special. I never once felt like I was going through a "wedding mill" or like my wedding was just like every other person's that has been there before. I cannot rave enough about Sweet Meadow - it was truly my dream venue and my dream wedding. Not only is the venue itself gorgeous, but the rolling hills, lake, and little details all come together to make it a very, very special place to get married. The venue itself is one of the most important pieces to your wedding, and I can confidently say that Sweet Meadow will never disappoint!
There are seriously no words to describe the Sweet Meadow Farms wedding experience!!! It's not like ANY venue, it's a full experience!!! Family really!! I can sit here and write a book of every detail they exceeded our expectations on, it's INCREDIBLE!! As a bride you truly want everything to be perfect on your big day.. I can honestly say PERFECT is an understatement. From the first email inquiring to the very last goodbye at the end of our wedding day - AMAZING service. 20 thousand stars. Melanie's exquisite taste in decorations is jaw-dropping, the views from ANY angle are breathtaking! Don is the sweetest man alive constantly asking you questions to make sure everything is laid out exactly how you envision with his incredible staff. The hospitality is inspiring. Mrs. Debbie's food for our bridal party was so yummy we went for second and thirds! The most special part of Sweet Meadows aside from everything I just mentioned was my day of coordinator and now bff - Jessica. She is truly a magical human being. I couldn't have planned our destination wedding without her virtually by my side for 6 months. She answers any questions, helps you with anything, advises you, understands you, just LOVE her and the entire staff! I will always be so grateful and honored to have been married on your property. I will rave and rave about ya'll my entire life. Our guests literally were speechless! I only wish ya'll more and more incredible success. Please thank every single person I forgot to name in this review, to my 2nd day of coordinator to the landscaper- THANK YOU! Every smile from ya'll catering to us made our dream come true! Blake and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. THANK YOU!!!
Melanie and her team were absolutely amazing from the start! Sweet Meadow Farms was the second venue we saw in person and knew right then that we wanted to book it. Their property is absolutely beautiful, and they go above and beyond with the decorating and services they offer such as coordination and parking attendants. They also offer the ability to transport guests around, such as my grandparents who has trouble walking on uneven surfaces. Throughout the whole planning process they offered great advice in regards to how the reception layout would work best, and how the cocktail location and the buffet line should function. With it being close to Christmas time, Melanie asked if we would mind if they added Christmas garland throughout the barn. It was absolutely beautiful and I couldn’t imagine not having it! Jessica, our coordinator, was seriously the best and kept things moving along throughout our entire day. Thank you Sweet Meadow for all you guys did!!
Sweet Meadow was the perfect venue. I have continued to get many comments on how gorgeous the venue was.
We truly had the "slow wedding" I had hoped for.
Melanie is amazing at her job, the venue is gorgeous and everything I hoped for!
After hours of researching online I knew I had found my dream venue when I stumbled on Sweet Meadow. I didn't even tour any other venues but Sweet Meadow - it was literally perfect and I couldn't wait 'til our special day came so I could spend all day there.
Our small bridal party spent the day together in the their beautiful, cozy house. Sweet Meadow made us lunch and we were able to eat together on their little patio by the greenhouse (the lighting in there for photos were so pretty). The groom & bridal suite were stunning (i never wanted to leave)! While we were relaxing and getting ready - the owner, Melanie and my coordinator, Jessica, were handling everything flawlessly - I was so impressed with how organized and professional everyone was and how on-top of everything they were. I was completely stress-free the whole day and was really able to enjoy the day with my friends and family.
It was hard to choose one of their multiple ceremony locations since they are all so pretty, but we were married under the huge oak tree across the pond and used their handmade pews. After, we took some sunset photos around their farm.
We used the historic barn for the reception and had their farm tables and dance floor right outside the entrance under the lights. Every guest could not stop talking about how beautiful the entire property was and how every detail was so well thought-out.
When we made our exit I really didn't want the day to end - loved every part of it!
This venue is stunning!! They are incredibly kind and have amazing style. The barn is perfect and the options are endless on how to arrange everything. I was so blow away by this place and am so excited to get married here in December.
Beautiful venue. Overall a great experience!
