From first email correspondance to the serving of late night bites on your wedding day, the Huegah Catering team will not disappoint. It’s hard to write this review because Paul, Angie, and their team do everything right. When we were looking to hire for our April 2022 wedding in early 2021, we had sat down with a couple of catering companies in the Chicago area. It was Paul and Angie’s individualized attention and amazing food that made us choose them. I’ll do my best to summarize why you should hire Huegah in three parts. First things first, Huegah only caters one wedding each weekend. This is HUGE. Some other caterers are doing 3 weddings…a night! With Huegah, you can be certain that every little detail, every bite, that guests take will be amazing. Secondly, Paul and Angie work with you to develop the perfect wedding menu. Paul is an amazing chef and baker can make practically everything you could think of! My husband really wanted mini pizzas at our cocktail hour and chicken in a waffle cone (and falafel in a waffle cone) for late night bites, and Paul executed them with flying colors. Paul, Andrew keeps raving about the chicken and wants more. We may be reaching out to you soon! 😉 Lastly, the people at Huegah are amazing. From the owners to the servers and bartenders, this tight-knit team takes pride in everything they do. Like most couples, my husband and I almost forgot to eat or (neglected to eat) on our wedding day, they made sure we were well taken care of, and when they noticed I didn’t eat my meal, they so kindly boxed one up for me to take home with me the next day. We just worked with Huegah Catering for the first time this weekend for a wedding in Chicago and it was incredible! Paul and Angie are truly a DYNAMIC DUO. They are veterans in the industry and are a MUST for your wedding catering needs. There’s an amazing yin and yang to their partnership, which results in an effortless experience when planning and coordinating with them. As a Wedding Planner/Coordinator it’s a breath of fresh air to have other vendors who value a “team” mentality as this always ensures an outstanding wedding day. When you hire Angie & Paul, you get Angie and Paul. They are with you every step of way from start to finish. It’s evident that they have a heart for what they do and for their couples. You’re not just a number to them—your wedding matters, and they are there to bring their A-game. They are kind and not at all pretentious. They listen, take note, and execute a menu and a dining experience that is a cut above--reflecting your unique wedding day, style, and tastes. Angie is meticulous with all of the details—from floor plans, seating charts, and meal choices to BYOB deliveries, service staff, room flips, and rentals, nothing is forgotten or overlooked. She handles every last minute change and every possible nuance with allergies and dietary restrictions like an absolute angel. And the food. Can we talk about the food? ABSOLUTELY delicious. We eat a lot of wedding food, and trust us when we say Paul is a genius in the kitchen. Huegah's menus are perfectly crafted. Every dish comes out hot with perfect presentation and each bite has so much FLAVOR. From salad to main course and later for dessert and late night bites, you’re left wanting more. Do yourself a favor and call them right now! You don’t want to snooze on this amazing caterer.

Paul and Angie were amazing to work with! I have already recommended them to a family member who will be working with them for their wedding next year. They were the most responsive and flexible of all of our vendors, which was particularly notable given that we had to postpone our 2020 wedding to the busy 2021 wedding season. The food was excellent day of, as was the service. Paul and Angie take on fewer events than the larger catering groups in Chicago, and it absolutely showed. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness about making our day unique and specific to us (menu was 100% custom) was unmatched. They came recommended from our venue and we never looked back!

Paul and Angie were a true pleasure to work with from beginning to end! We are a mixed Jewish and Latino couple, and Huegah helped us tailor our menu to showcase the perfect combination of our cultures through the food experience with ceviche hors d'oeuvres, mini challah rolls, and plantains & chimichurri with entrees. Their food is of the HIGHEST quality with an amazing attention to detail on plate presentation (we all eat with our eyes first)! We were blown away during our tasting, and we understand the difficulty of replicating that quality for 150 guests, but they passed the test with flying colors. We had friends and family say (and we agree) that it was the best food they have had at any wedding. Both Paul and Angie were extremely responsive when we needed them, in addition to being super helpful with general wedding detail suggestions and alcohol delivery logistics even though they weren’t even providing the alcohol!

Paul and Angie are the most powerful of power couples that you most definitely want catering and organizing your wedding or event! They are so much more than caterers, and go above and beyond to make your day perfect and unique to you and your partner's vision. They were flexible and thoughtful in helping us replan our wedding several times as Covid came crashing into our 2020 plans. They practiced the safest levels of food prep and serving, working with us endless on creative solutions to still serve food in fun ways. After vetting SO many caters for our 150 person (original pre-covid) wedding, Huegah checked every single box that no other caterer could. Fit in our budget, had unique and delicious dishes, provided the plates, linens, etc, printed menus, traveled, adjusted to our tasting needs, and were prompt and professional at every single step. Throughout the year and a half of planning we asked for so many additional things - gold silverware, fancier wine glasses, signature cocktails, upscale plastic flutes for outdoor use, custom bar set up, decor setup in venue, high tops and more. They delivered on everything! We can't thank them enough for making the planning process seamless, the day special for us and our guests, serving up the most beautifully delicious food and drinks, and their overall professionalism. Paul and Angie are the BEST choice and I can hardly put into words how perfect they made our day. We held our wedding very last minute - with COVID chaos, we had about 3 weeks to find a caterer, bartender, and servers. Paul handled all 3 seamlessly and him and his wife Angie care so much. I wanted a cucumber jalepeno margarita to match our amazing taco bar and Paul worked hard the night before the event to get the recipe perfect ahead of the wedding. We had tamales and shrimp cocktail for appetizers, then 4 types of tacos (mahi, steak, chicken, and veggie), rice, beans, and corn salad. He also had tons of amazing salsas. Our guests are still raving. He and Angie arrived early, were troopers carrying items 3 floors up (!!) and stayed late to make sure everything was spotless. They made our event magical and I hope they can make yours too!

My husband and I used Huegah to cater our June 2017 wedding in Evansville, IL. Our wedding location was about a 3 hour drive from where we lived and with our work schedules we were not able to make the drive to do a tasting before the big day. Most people would be a bit nervous making such a large commitment (the meal is a HUGE part of the big day, and often times one of the biggest expenses). To be honest, when we first reached out to caterers we felt that way too. However, Paul and Angie were an absolute DREAM to work with. They were insanely prompt via phone and email with answering any and all questions we had. Again, due to our work schedules, we had limited amount of time to chat via phone, but when we did, Paul was *on it* with the details. He asked us questions that really made us feel like he was catering OUR wedding, not just a wedding. He really wanted to make sure our food fit our vision. When we gave him the option of picking what he thought would work best with the rest of our menu, he hit it out of the park. I really cannot say enough good things about Paul, Angie and the staff they brought in for our wedding. Everyone was professional, cheerful, attentive, and generally nice to be around. We even threw a big wrench into the whole event when I found out I was pregnant 5 days before our wedding. We weren't ready to tell family & friends, but we told Paul and Angie. They discretely updated our menu right away. They even were able to grab some sparkling cider for me that visually matched the wine parings the rest of our guests were drinking during the meal. I genuinely could not recommend a better caterer than Huegah. You will NOT be disappointed!

If you are taking the time to read this review, you have found your caterer. Trust me! The moment we hired Huegah to handle our wedding, we never looked back. The customer service and attentive communication we received was second to none. We never had to wait more than a few hours for a response from Paul or Angie on any email. Paul’s calm demeanor kept me from becoming a Bridezilla and I had full trust in his abilities to run the show. He took our last-minute requests in stride and delivered everything exactly as promised – better, even. Leading up to the wedding, this was hugely important to us; as many other vendors were going MIA, we always trusted that Huegah was there for us. But let’s not forget the FOOD. It was amazing!! We had our wedding tasting about 9 months before the wedding date and I could not stop dreaming about it. We wanted to hurry up and get married so we could eat everything all over again! It was important to us that the food at our wedding be delicious and Huegah blew our minds. Our guests raved about the melt-in-your-mouth short ribs, perfect chicken, and amazing appetizers. We heard from several friends and family members that the food at our wedding was better than any wedding dinner they have ever had. The event was several days ago now and I am still hearing comments about how good the food was! Everything tasted amazing and was presented beautifully. I was the type of clueless bride that had no idea what I was doing, and I realize now I never needed to. Paul was taking care of me the whole time. When I arrived at the venue, everything was set up beautifully and the staff was in full swing. I felt the utmost confidence, and I cannot recommend Huegah enough!
