Bone Student Center

This venue was absolutely incredible. Hands down the best venue to work with because everyone at ISU wanted to make sure our wedding was perfect for us. The staff at ISU are all very professional, caring, and helpful. We never waited more than 24hrs to receive a response to any questions that we had along the way and all of our questions were answered with great depth and consideration. This venue was also very accommodating to our requests for setting up decoration and also taking down decorations. Our event coordinator was right by our side and helped us through every step along the way from the moment we signed the contract until the end of our reception. I cannot say enough good things about this venue!

Mollie was so helpful while we were planning our wedding reception. I felt like the Bone staff went above and beyond to meet our requests. I would absolutely recommend the Bone to anyone looking for a wedding reception venue.

I would get married over and over again just to work with Mollie! As an out of state bride, Mollie completely catered to everything I needed. From FaceTime, to elaborate emails and calls.. I never felt out of the loop. She even communicated so well with my MIL who she met to see the venue before I even did! Mollie is truly amazing at what she does and the rest of the staff including my catering manager that night went above and beyond. Mollie, thank you for making sure I had an amazing and special night. Please have your wedding/reception here so you get a chance to work with her.. you won’t be disappointed 😊 oh and also.. please get the pot roast.. I’m still getting messages about our amazing food!

Mollie, the event coordinator, was exceptional to work with. She made us feel like our event was the most important one on their calendar. She was charismatic, kind, accessible and appeasing. The new Bone Student Center building is updated and feels modern. There is a good variety of food choices, it was tasty and served quickly. We had a lovely experience and would definitely recommend them for a wedding event.

Mollie with the Bone Student Center made our experience considering wedding venues so easy! From the first time I reached out, she was in consistent, timely communication with me and was very flexible in working with my schedule. I live out of state but am planning our wedding back in our hometown and Mollie was more than happy to make accommodations in communication so that I could still be an active part in the tour (we facetimed!) and talked through the wedding packages on that video call. She was happy to include my family in that process too!

ISU Bone Student Center made wedding planning a breeze for us!! It was as close to a “one stop shop” that you can get - great venue for ceremony, reception and picture opp areas!!! The food catered by ISU was amazing - we received so many compliments on the food. They also offered a child buffet, which was a big hit! Special shout-out to Mollie, our event coordinator, who was a true God send - she made all of our wedding day visions come to life!!

Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but then add in a pandemic and it’s taken to a whole new level. Mollie at the Bone Student Center was great at keeping us calm and made sure our wedding was perfect. The Bone has great spaces to offer and great catering. Our wedding was everything we imagined!

My husband and aunt had a wonderful experience working with the Bone Student Center as a reception venue, and we could haven’t better things to say about their wedding event coordinator, Mollie Alden. We met Mollie pre-Covid when touring reception options for my 2020 wedding.  My fiancé and I considered half a dozen venues in town, and thoroughly vetted the pros and cons of each over a period of weeks.  The Brown Ballroom offered a space we loved at a value-added price point, but most importantly the package came with the services and oversight of Mollie.  After we signed the contract and began the planning process in earnest, it was clear that Mollie excelled at her job.  She patiently addressed all of our questions by phone, in person and over email with the exact level of detail needed.  Mollie provided options, suggestions when appropriate, and made us feel that she welcomed our contacts.  It was as though she was a close friend working hard to organize the reception of our dreams.  Then, as happened with many couples, the pandemic forced us to postpone our reception until 2021.   It was during the ensuing months of uncertainty, that Mollie's talents really shined.  She reached out frequently to keep us abreast of current University guidelines relative to gatherings, answered our questions honestly and did not hesitate to let us know when she needed to reach out to you or others for answers to our questions.  Mollie held herself accountable to always circle back with information, and became someone we trusted to provide straight talk even when it was not the answer we hoped to hear.  She always did so with empathy and professionalism. Mollie has provided us with incredible support.  Her attention to detail, flexibility, communication, patience, and understanding have not only been genuine, but they have been of the highest quality.   We have spoken to/worked with a lot of people in this industry over the past couple of years and Mollie truly stands out.  The Brown Ballroom has recently been renovated and looks great. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a ceremony or reception venue in Bloomington-Normal, I would HIGHLY recommend having it at the Bone Student Center. We had such a large size wedding that we struggled finding a place for a ceremony, and they were very accommodating in finding a place for it. It is very convenient to be able to split the ballroom into three different rooms for different uses. Mollie is the coordinator for everything and she was AMAZING before the wedding and on the day as well. She knows her stuff and will think of everything that you won't when it comes to details for your day. She is so accommodating at catering to what you want and need. On our wedding day, all of us girls were getting blisters on our feet and she was there with band-aids instantly. It was like we said, "Let's ask Mollie about that", and she would be there in an instant. The catering was also really really good and had a lot of options for us as well! Overall, it was such an amazing venue, and I would recommend it to anyone who asks!

If you’re looking for a place to help you do it all you need to have your wedding or event at ISU Bone Student Center! My husband and I recently got married at ISU this June which was so meaningful because we met and fell in love at ISU 6 years prior to our wedding. The ISU wedding planner Mollie was fantastic! She was timely, answered all my question... every...single..question!!!! Mollie was helpful, she was friendly, she was fun, and she made my dream venue happen! We were also close to hotels since we were traveling and guests were traveling so the location was also perfect for that. The catering was EXCELLENT! We had so many comments on the food! Not only did we love the food but we were able to do a food tasting where we picked every last food item several months before the wedding. I also was really worried about setting up and tearing down the venue before and after the wedding, ISU took care of all of it! They also let me rent my centerpieces so I didn’t have to buy them! They just finished a beautiful renovation in the Bone student center where we held our event! And did I mention they are affordable?!? I 1000% recommend this as a place you use! Everyone at the Bone Student Center did a wonderful job! Everyone was very professional, responsive, thorough, punctual, and kind! They really worked with us to make our vision of the day come alive, and the whole process was easy with the support from the Bone staff. Food was great, and the prices are very reasonable.

Kimberly and Mollie were fantastic to work with. As a very involved couple, we were very detail oriented and wanted everything perfect and flawless. They both went above and beyond for us and even helped settle my (as the groom) nerves before the wedding. The food, especially the desserts, was phenomenal. Definitely recommend the Campus Dining Services and the Bone Student Center as great venue/caterer combination!

My husband and I recently got married in the Brown Ballroom at the Bone Student Center. We had both graduated from Illinois State University just different years so ISU meant something to the both of us. We looked at a few different places in the Bloomington-Normal area before going with the Bone Student Center. We had our ceremony and reception both in the Brown Ballroom and it turned out beautifully! Their prices were very reasonable, especially for the food. And the food was amazing. Everyone raved about the Pot Roast and the assorted desserts that were available after dinner. Not everyone likes wedding so that was a great option for us. Jenna was our wedding coordinator. She was amazing! She responded to all our emails and phone calls in a timely manner and always wanted to make sure we were happy. Kim was in charge of the catering. She did a wonderful job! From dinner to dessert, everything was perfect and tasted great! I highly recommend the Bone Student Center as a wedding venue. If you are on a budget for your wedding, you can't beat this place! For everything we got from the food, drinks to the decorations and centers pieces these prices are unbeatable!

My husband and I recently got married at the Bone Student Center. We live in the Western Suburbs but met at Illinois State University and wanted to get married at a place that had a special meaning to us. We looked into a few places in the Bloomington-Normal area before deciding on the Bone. We had our ceremony in the Circus Room and then our reception in the Prairie Room instead of the Ballroom because our wedding was on the smaller side. Their prices are extremely reasonable and the food is delicious. All of the staff was amazing to work with, especially the wedding coordinator, Jenna. She responded to emails and calls in a timely manner and was super helpful throughout the entire process. The day before the wedding we brought in many decorations and Jenna set them all up for us, which was really great as well. Overall I highly highly recommend the Bone Student Center as a wedding venue, the food is amazing, the staff is super nice, and the prices are unbeatable!

We had an Italian buffet for our reception. I didn't eat much, (my nerves got the best of me) but the food was the standout of our reception. Everyone raved about the lasagna and potatoes. I really wanted a hot chocolate bar since the wedding was in November and it turned out amazing. They really went above and beyond. My one disappointment was the weather was very warm for the season so no one was interested in hot chocolate. It was almost 80 during the middle of November! Since the venue was expecting colder weather, they had turned the heat on and we couldn't find anyone who could turn it down.
