With beautiful scenery outdoors and lovely décor indoors, Mission Hills is a great venue for wedding celebrations. The space is very clean and the staff is welcoming, accommodating, and wonderful to work with for any event.
PROS
Wanda was attentive and helpful. Most staff was kind and respectful.
They helped with more setup than agreed upon. Which allowed us to relax a bit more during setup.
We had a change of time from our HMU and they opened up 30 min earlier to help us out.
CONS
Groom received the wrong meal, they did provide a semi-suitable fix, but by the time he received it was cold and just sat at the table.
All tables had anniversary and personalized thank you cards. Two tables cards were all taken and removed. Some opened, some were not. I understand the mentality to keep the table clean and remove trash. However, it wasn’t a straw wrapper. It was very clearly a sentiment letter that should have been put to the side not thrown away. After asking about this, we were not given an apology. We were just told staff is meant to remove paper goods.
We were informed 3 days before the wedding we had a ceremony fee that they neglected to put on the contract. We were pushed into a corner as we had no other option as we were told we had to pay or more our ceremony elsewhere.
Mission Hills met my expectations! They made my wedding reception go just as planned! I have to thank Wanda and Victor for that! Victor the event service manager was so very helpful throughout my special day and I cant thank him enough for making sure everything went well! He made sure my wedding cake looked fabulous and IT DID! All of my guests had a wonderful time and everyone loved the food!
This venue is absolutely beautiful, and what makes it so much better is the amazing staff from the bartenders, servers and chefs. The food was so delicious that our guest continue to praise this venue. Gabi has been an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our wedding planning process and always made herself available when needed. Both Gabi and Victor had a huge role on our special day and made sure the day ran smoothly. We are truly grateful for our experience with Mission Hills Club as they will always have a special place in our hearts.
Our wedding here was beautiful! We loved that we got the whole place to ourselves for the entire day. We were able to take pictures on the green with various back drops and our vendors had the flexibility to set-up inside with ample time. We enjoyed working with Suzanne and Gabi to plan the day, and Victor was an amazing venue manager the day of. We received many compliments from our guest on the venue as well as the food. The bananas foster presentation was a great hit!
Very professional staff, wonderful bright room with a great view and an overall great facility.
Mission Hills has a lovely large party room overlooking the golf course and accommodating, attentive staff. We were very pleased with the event we held at Mission Hills.
Very easy to work with. Staff was kind, patient and helpful.
Totally professional and very accommodating. Beautiful setting,
The space is wonderful for an event. Ample parking and a gracious entrance. Multiple rooms for the event. Beautiful views and spacious rooms. We were able to separate event space from bar and food. Everything was handled professionally and set up before we arrived. Servers were friendly and stayed out of the way. Found magically appeared on time.
Such a wonderful wedding venue! My husband and I got married here last September and had a great experience. The venue is all inclusive so you don't have to find outside caterers, which was super convenient, plus the food was absolutely delicious. We had several wedding guests rave about the food. Our wedding was the only event going on that day, which made everything feel very intimate and special. We had our ceremony outside, which was beautiful on the golf course. There are separate getting ready areas for the bride & groom, and we had lunch and drinks in the rooms while getting ready. We worked closely with Suzanne who helped coordinate and make everything run smoothly. I would suggest hiring another day of coordinator in addition - there are many things that need to get done and it would be super helpful to have another coordinator there as well to make sure things run smoothly. Victor was also super helpful in making sure everything was perfect - he went above and beyond to make sure we had the perfect day! Highly recommend!
Our wedding was 1/29/2020 and we worked mainly with Suzanne. She was AMAZING!!!! So accommodating, we kept in touch throughout the whole planning process which was about a year. She was always timely with her responses and was willing to be as flexible as we needed. There was a bridal suite AND a groomsman suite which we really appreciated. We had the whole building and grounds to ourselves for the entire day, which made pictures so much easier!
I cannot leave this review without talking about the FOOD. Sometimes at weddings the food isn't necessarily the focus, but that is something we never had to worry about with Mission Hills. All the food we had was phenomenal and our guests couldn't stop talking about it.
The staff was wonderful! Everyone was very nice and willing to help out with whatever was needed. I would recommend Mission Hills to anyone and everyone.
Mission hills is awesome!!!! Suzanne is wonderful to work with!
Mission Hills was an all-inclusive, intimate, and a perfect wedding location. The food is incredible, the venue is stunning both inside and out, but most of all, the service was amazing; whether it was working with our unbelievably hard-working and creative wedding coordinator, Suzanne, or the fully masked and vaccinated waitstaff who made sure I had sparkling grape juice in my champagne glass (as I don't drink)... they were incredibly kind, responsive, and paid attention to every single detail to make sure that all of my dreams truly came into fruition for nothing short of a perfect wedding day. I cannot recommend Mission Hills enough for any type of special occasion as their team will go above and beyond to make it unforgettable.
This venue was perfect for our event. Extremely Affordable (and you would neve know it, because its gorgeous), food was delicious and our coordinator, Suzanne made everything an absolute breeze.
We shopped around at alot of venues at found this one to bring the most value to the table. Beautiful venue, great staff, and awesome food! Thank you and would 10/10 recommend for a wedding or large event.
As a florist I have the luxury to see many beautiful Venues . I’m in love with Mission Hills. I believe that beautiful Venues deserve recognition and good feedback, and for this reason i felt compelled to write about this hidden gem . The views are simply amazing . The layout of the rooms BEAUTIFUL and the staff beyond polite and accommodating. I would recommend Mission HillsCountry Club without any hesitation to anyone who is searching for a venue for their next event.
The venue was accommodating to my daughter's needs.(especially Zaneta). The room was beautiful and well lit. There was ample space for all of our guests. The caterer that was contracted was fabulous. We had an all around great experience.
My husband and I were just married on September 26, 2020 and Zaneta was our venue contact person. SHE WAS THE GREATEST! She had great communication with us throughout the planning for our day. Our ceremony and reception was there and the FOOD WAS SUPERB. If you're looking to have an outside ceremony or otherwise, inside is an option as well, with beautiful landscaping, gazebo, bridge, trees, shrubbery, and water strait and you want all access with it being just your event on that day without sharing space with another celebration, Mission Hills is your place! It's too many perks to name including the Bridal Suite, I've never seen one the size of the one they have to accommodate my wedding party and me for getting ready! WE LOVE AND THANK YOU ZANETA FOR EVERYTHING! We're looking forward to having our 1st year anniversary celebration there next year!!!! Thanks Mission Hills.
Amazing wedding. Fabulous food and great service!
Best Service Ever!
What an amazing group of professionals! The main coordinator, Suzanne Gehrardini, was absolutely wonderful to work with, so accommodating, creative and calming! Waitstaff and bartenders were outstanding. The food was awesome!
Our event was wonderful! The food was delicious. Working with the staff at Mission Hills was perfect! They were so helpful and accommodating. Suzanne and Victor made our lives so much easier. I would highly recommend this venue. It is so beautiful and fun. The bar is so warm and inviting. Please consider it for you next wedding!
We had our wedding here in January 2020 but decided on the venue in November 2018. The biggest draw here is definitely the level of service provided by the staff. We worked primarily with one coordinator up to the day of the wedding (Jennifer) as well as with two other coordinators (Suzanne and Kristen) the two weeks up to the wedding and on the wedding day. They were all great and incredibly responsive. They made sure we were accommodated and met our needs from day one. The day of the wedding the ops manager, Victor, was phenomenal in making sure everything when smoothly. He ran the show a did an A+ job. I also want to make sure I mention the food, which was absolutely delicious. I got guest compliments on every course from the french onion soup to the banana's foster and cake dessert. The venue space can be transformed into anything you want it to be, depending on your budget and vision, and the staff is there to help you along the way. I recommend Mission Hills as a great space to create a beautiful wedding at a very reasonable price.
We recently held a dinner party for 80 at the Mission Hills Country Club. I've received many compliments on the food and the service. Suzanne Gheradini helped tremendously in the planning and was present at the event to make sure everything went as planned. The event was perfectly staffed so there was no waiting for cocktails at the bar or for extra coffee at the end of dinner. Dinner was delicious and was served graciously. Suzanne followed through on evertything that was promised and was key to the success of our event. We were so pleased that we have already booked our annual event for next year.
Best place soo far. Easy to deal with stress free. Thanks Suzanne always being soo helpful.
External Entry from the Road: Pretty entry off the road with little gate house, lots of flowers. That impressed me as we drove in.
Parking: Ample parking (handicapped and non-handicapped) and close to the main entry way.
Entry into Main Foyer: Everything was set up beautifully for our particular needs.
Price: we got an unbeatable deal for $/head for dinner and an extra hour of open bar!
Photograph Ops: Lots of beautiful places to take pics: scenic bridge, green fields, cool old trees
Cocktail Hour: Copper Room was really neat with lots of great natural light, huge windows, and lovely views of fountains and golf course greens.
Main function room: Spacious. We had a giant crowd (246) and yet it didn't feel crowded moving around. Good size dance floor, and nice side room large enough for a bar and a really nicely presented dessert buffet.. (Although we provided the desserts, MH set up the tables with nice linens and made everything look really good.)
Food: Delicious! Hot and tasty and served quickly. Love the rice soup and all the entrees! Different flavored butters brought out with the delicious bread was kind of fun and unexpected. Honestly? I was initially concerned/curious how the table service would work out: Would it come out hot? Would they have enough of everything? What if everyone wanted steak?! But they knew their stuff and their numbers worked out perfectly (based on a history of providing table service for years).
A/V: Able to run a video loop during the cocktail hour using MH's TV screen to do so. Their TV wasn't extraordinarily up to date, technology wise, but it was tech-savvy enough that we could run our powerpoint by hooking our computer up to the TV via an HDMI cable. They provided us with a "highboy" table so that the computer could be right beneath the tv screen; we then kind of hid our laptop behind a large lantern candle. We brought our own stereo system for speeches to make sure there were no sound problems, but would recommend checking quality beforehand if using MH's equipment.
Management: Easy to work with and responsive. Friends of our wanted to surprise the bride and groom by having a cool wooden sign hanging up to greet them. (The message etched into the wood matched that engraved into their wedding bands). Suzanne worked with our friends (behind the bride and groom's back) to make that happen, and it was a very happy and successful surprise.
We loved Suzanne!
Awesome experience from start to finish! The team, the venue, the food could not have been better. We received so much positive feedback from our attendees that we may just have to go here again for our next event!
Our daughter’s wedding at Mission Hills was outstanding! Suzanne went above and beyond to guide us through the entire planning process. Suzanne and Victor took care of every detail on the day of to make sure everything was perfect! Things could not have been managed and coordinated better.
The grounds provided a beautiful setting for photos. Victor had specially prepared a freshly mowed and trimmed area for us, since there were leaves everywhere due to a sudden drop in the temperature. The spacious bridal room was perfect for getting ready, and the groom and his buddies enjoyed the large comfortable lounge. The food was absolutely delicious. We received many compliments from our guests on everything from soup to dessert. The staff was polite and efficient, and everything ran smoothly throughout the evening.
Thank you for making our daughter and son-in-law’s special day absolutely magical. Mission Hills Country Club is a gem and we highly recommend it!
We had our wedding at Mission Hills on 11/10/19 and it was absolutely beautiful. Suzanne was professional and personable and helped us every step of the way to make our day beautiful. They were flexible and worked with us to make our vision possible. On the wedding day everything was coordinated and taken care of and we were able to enjoy our day stress free. We received several compliments from our guests on how beautiful it was and how delicious the food was! I highly recommend having any event at Mission Hills!
Our wedding day was perfect, thanks to the help of Monica and Mission Hills. Everything about Mission Hills is perfect! The food is by far the best you will ever have at a wedding. Our guests did not stop talking about how amazing it was. Everything ran smoothly and quickly so we were able to dance all night! From the bridal room, to the billards for the groomsmen, to the fireplace, to the beautiful chairs that you don't have to pay extra for-- every single detail at MH is beautiful and well thought out! I would recommend MH to everyone!
I was so lucky to work with Mission Hills Country Club for my husband and I's fall wedding! The venue is beautiful and intimate providing the perfect backdrop for our family and friends. Everyone there was so accommodating and fantastic to work with, especially Suzanne Gherardini (our main point of contact). There was no question too small or ask to big. Everyone felt like an extension of our family - invested in our big day and wanting it to go as seamless as possible. Suzanne's positive and organized nature made her a joy to collaborate with and she was able to bring our vision to life.
Suzanne and her staff made my daughters wedding dreams come true! The food was AMAZING and the staff was very attentive to all of our guests. Both the brides room and the grooms room are large and perfect for getting ready before the ceremony. We were able to drop off decorations the week prior to the wedding, and Suzanne and staff made sure that everything was put in the correct place. Beautiful venue!
My son and his wife held their wedding reception at Mission Hills on September 21st, 2019, and we had a truly positive experience from start to finish. Here are the highlights of our positive experience:
First, the external entry from the road was very pretty, featuring a nice little gate house and lots of flowers - nice first impression for your guests as they drive in.
Parking was ample and close to the main entryway.
The Main Foyer was set up beautifully for our particular needs: tables for gifts of hand-made soap, a guest book, and jenga pieces to sign, plus two easels to hold seating charts. Everything was set up just how we wanted it.
We were given a big space the day before where we could store everything we would need for the big day....no schlepping that day.
Mission Hills provided a big jumbo screen in the entry way for our guests to watch the big Notre Dame game during the reception! (We had lots of ND alum there.)
There were lots of beautiful places to take pics: a scenic bridge, green fields, cool old trees, etc.
Our Cocktail Hour was held in the Copper Room which offered lots of great natural light, huge windows, and lovely views of fountains and golf course greens.
The Main function room was very spacious. We had a 241 guests and yet it didn't feel at all crowded. The dance floor was nice and big, and there was a very useful side room off the dance floor that was large enough for a bar and a nicely presented dessert buffet. (Although we provided the desserts, MH set up the tables with nice linens and made everything look beautiful.)
The food was hot, delicious and served quickly, across the board, across all entree options! THAT WAS HUGE! Many guests made it a point to tell us after the fact how tasty their meal was. The lemon rice soup was a great pick. Flavored butters brought out with the delicious bread was kind of fun and unexpected. To be honest, I was initially very concerned how the table service would work out: Would it come out hot? Would they have enough of everything? What if everyone wanted steak?! But Suzanne and the kitchen staff knew their stuff and their numbers worked out perfectly (based on a history of providing table service for years).
Regarding our audio/visual needs, we were able to run a video loop during the cocktail hour using Mission Hill's TV screen to do so. Their TV wasn't extraordinarily up to date, technology wise, but it was tech-savvy enough that we could run our powerpoint by hooking our computer up to the TV via an HDMI cable. They provided us with a nice "highboy" table (with linens) set right below the TV screen so that the computer could sit right beneath the TV screen; we then kind of hid our laptop behind a large lantern candle and everything worked great and looked fine.
Finally, the management was easy to work with and very responsive to our particular requests. For example, friends of our wanted to surprise the bride and groom by having a cool wooden sign hanging up to greet them. (The message etched into the wood matched the one engraved into their wedding bands). Suzanne worked with our friends (behind the bride and groom's back) to make that happen, and it was a very happy and successful surprise.
There was also a good-sized room available to the wedding party just for storing their things, replenishing make up, taking laid-back, fun, wedding party pics, etc.
I would recommend Mission Hills without reservation. Happy planning!
Overall, we had a great experience with Mission Hills! They could not have been more fantastic on the day of, everything went so smoothly! They had a bridal suite for the girls to get ready in that had a ton of space and plenty of natural light, mirrors and outlets. The boys were able to use the pro shop to get ready which had plenty of space as well. Being able to get ready at our venue was so helpful, we didn't have to added expense of transportation for the wedding party, and we didn't have to waste any of our photographer time by driving around. The grounds were beautiful for taking pictures which was great not to have to go somewhere else for photos. The food was great, and we got tons of complements. Everyone that was a part of the wedding day did a fantastic job. I was thrilled that they were able to get all of the courses for dinner out faster than they thought, so we were able to open the dance floor and dance the night away! The only reason I am giving four stars is there were some hiccups along the planning process, but honestly everything went so well the day of that I would highly recommend looking in to Mission Hills!
We hosted our reception at Mission Hills, and really liked it! Monica was a gem, always helping us to get exactly what we wanted throughout the planning process. She was quickly responsive and attentive to our frequent questions/requests. The food was delicious, and the space was just right. The whole building was ours for the night (there aren't any other events going on alongside yours), which makes it feel intimate and special. The windows looking out on the golf course made it feel open and airy (as opposed to the many stuffy hotel ballrooms we looked at), even on a cloudy day.
The one downside is that the plans we made were apparently either not communicated to the staff in advance, or they had forgotten about our requests. For instance, we discussed with Monica and Suzanne that we wanted all beers served in glasses (not bottles), but the bartender didn't follow through on that until we noticed and reminded Suzanne of our request, and she fixed the situation immediately. Similarly, we were doing a New York wedding style timeline, and the DJ was the one who told the wait staff when to serve the food, rather than them being on top of the situation themselves.
Overall, I'd recommend this lovely space with great food, just make sure to follow up with all of your special requests.
Mission Hill is beautiful and the staff is so professional!
I had attended a wedding at Mission Hills Country Club and it was beautiful. The venue was wonderful. Simply elegant with breathtaking views you could not believe unless in person, at sundown it was so serene... The food was impeccable. The varieties of horderves, entree cooked to perfection, down to the fun dessert show!! Service was flawless. Very professional, kind staff. Job well done at Mission Hills Club!!
Mission Hills Club truly blew me out of the water. From the instant we arrived we were greeted with champagne and shown into the modest, yet beautiful cooper room for cocktails and appetizers before the reception began. The food, from appetizers to entree, was cooked to perfection. Expertly seasoned, plated, and presented. Our service was bar none from the minute we arrived. The team at mission hills knows how to work together, and make sure that everything runs smoothly. Our server was Eric and he was truly phenomenal. Fast, funny, reliable, and personable. We never felt forgotten and his service to use was truly impeccable. All of the team members at Mission Hills worked long and hard to provide the best experience I have ever had at an event such as this one. I would recommend this venue to anyone who asked! Great work!
My Aunt had her bridal shower here and I was blown away. First of all, they have this old fashioned copper fireplace in their Copper Room, which is lovely! I can only imagine how cozy that makes the venue when it's snowing outside! Secondly, they have floor to ceiling windows overlooking their gorgeous golf course at the country club. I thought it was a private club but it's now open to the public they said! Food was OUTSTANDING! The white glove service of their staff, all of the parking available, it truly was such a gorgeous event and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place. Definitely a country club feel without the fees and hassle, but all the views!
What a fabulous venue for a wedding!! The Willow Ballroom was so beautiful with an amazing view of the grounds. The food and service was incredible. The best food I have ever had at an event. Kelly, Victor and Suzanne were a pleasure to work with planning everything. A wonderful place for any kind of event!!
I was SO thrilled to learn that Mission Hills Club is now open to the public and that we didn't have to be country club members to hold our reception there! My husband loves to golf there and the windows overlooking the course were so gorgeous. I felt like I had known Kelly, their sales director, for years! She was instrumental to calming my nerves, making helpful recommendations and she literally made me feel that all of my needs were her needs. Such a friendly staff and the food is still being raved about! Lots of parking which was super convenient and it didn't break the bank either! I will never forget our time at MHC and to Kelly and her team: THANK YOU YOU WERE SO WONDERFUL! (November, 2016)
This was my second wedding so I know my way around the planning process. Kelly and her awesome team handled every detail with a smile and with ease. My husband and I both travel for business and Kelly was available during off hours to help answer any questions we had. The room was beautiful – we had our wedding there too- and the food was delish. We almost passed up Mission Hills because we thought it was a “members only” club. Not the case. Thanks again to Kelly and her team, it really was the night of my life!
I had a Saturday night wedding at Mission Hills. We booked the event shortly after Victoria Banquets took over management of the facilities and received an attractive introductory price (booked a little more than a year before my wedding in August '16). Around January, I made contact with them because we hadn't been in touch in a while and learned that the staff members we were working with had left. I was a little upset no one had let me know (it was kind of accidental I found out), but moved on. After that contact, I didn't hear anything until I called them in June, two months before my wedding. No one had gotten a hold of me to schedule what was supposed to be a three-month prior meeting. I met with our day of coordinator for a couple hours in June. After that, communication got really frustrating. It seemed like our day of coordinator and the sales manager did not communicate AT ALL. Everything had to be repeated multiple times in order to make sure everyone at Mission Hills really understood what we needed. They also tried to insist certain things on the contract meant something else. Everything seemed like it required more effort than it really needed. The two weeks before the wedding got really stressful as they were fighting us on our guest count and wouldn't provide us a final invoice. I was told all along that we would have guidance at our rehearsal as far as how the ceremony works. I was met with silence and expected to lead my own rehearsal. Our coordinator also showed my parents a floor plan which was not what we had gone over time and again beforehand. I was also emailed precisely six minutes after we left the rehearsal for confirmation of everything we just did (how would anything change since then??). I was emailing them until 10:00 that night. Luckily, our wedding went off without a hitch but the communication beforehand was soooooo aggravating. The venue itself is lovely. They've been making improvements in the last year which has only added to the charm. The only facilities issues we had were the bathrooms weren't always clean and there is no door blocking off the ballroom from the foyer to block people's view during the flipping of the room. They had some room dividers to block the view which was okay. The food was also excellent and got rave reviews from all of our guests. Hopefully their new(er) staff will be able to work better together and work on their communication because the venue and grounds are gorgeous and a great place to have a wedding.
