Reem Acra

The worst service I ever dealt with. I am a size 0 and I went to their atelier to get my wedding and engagement gown custom made. My engagement dress arrived first and it was falling off of me even though the size 0 I tried at the atelier was perfect. Not only did I gain around 8 pounds since the fitting, but the dress was PERFECT when I tried it on! They could have just remade the same sizing. When I took off the dress I saw that it was a straight up size 4!! How is it custom made to fit MY body if it has a size on it? They had to remove 1 and a half inches from the bust and THREE from my waist (after it being custom made to fit my body and me gaining weight). My tailors were professional so they were able to fix it but it was nothing like how I tried it at the store. I emailed them back and forth and I had my measurements taken again and I even told them my size is a full on size 0 so that they do not mess up. A few weeks ago, my wedding dress arrived and I wanted to cry. The nude fabric they put under the beading to subtly cover my dress was popping out, the tailoring was atrocious, the distance from my shoulder to my breasts was awkwardly long, it did not fit around my waist whatsoever, and I paid $200 for “boning” (they put structureless material and called it boning). I don’t underatand how she’s a high end designer! Everytime I contacted Reem Acra, the people who worked for her tried to tell me that it was “custom made to my size” and it definitely was not. Last week, I found a ready made Reem Acra dress that I liked and I decided to take the risk one more time and order it for my next event. It arrived as the size I ordered (0) and fit perfectly fine and hugged my body, I was so shocked. How can a ready made, off the rack gown fit so seamlessly, when they could not get that done for my own custom made dress? They take no responsibility for ruining some women’s most important days and I absolutely do not recommend them whatsoever. I went from being in love at the atelier to completely disappointed with the outcome. Whatever you do, do not get a Reem Acra custom made dress.

After trying on multiple wedding gowns I decided to go with Reem Acra due to the classic yet fun twist. While the salespeople and tailor are nice, the results were heartbreaking. I can't stand looking at my pictures and when people ask about the dress it makes me upset and want to cry. They ordered a gown 3 sizes bigger than I was with the intent of altering it down, but did not consider the heavy beading on the gown- the designs were measured for someone 3 sizes bigger than myself and they were unable to alter the designs down to my size. They also neglected to tell me the amount of fittings the dress required when I bought it- I had to leave work 6 times! In addition, I am only 5' 4" and they didn't hem the dress properly, so much so that I slid multiple times on the gown throughout the church service (thankfully I never fell). They refused to put more boning in the dress and cups! I felt so uncomfortable you can see in pictures I kept fidgeting with it because it kept stretching and feeling low. I wish I could give them a good review, but honestly for the price there are much better options out there.

The salesperson gave me expert advice and was very helpful. The alterations were flawless.

The atmosphere was luxurious and the people where genuinely nice and helpfully. They made me feel beautiful and excited about the wedding. I recommend Reem Acra (Manhattan) to everyone!
