We hired Reid's to cater and bartend our May 28, 2022 backyard wedding at a private family home in Newland, NC and they did an amazing job. I worked with Meris and Susan for about 12 months to nail down our personalized menu and bar options. Susan was so patient with me as we made menu changes, bar tweaks, and floorplan adjustments. The Reid's culinary and service team were absolute pros on the day of our wedding, arriving early for set up, graciously serving guests during the outdoor cocktail hour and dinner reception, and helping break down the reception space after guests left. The buffet dinner and passed hors d'oeuvres were so delicious. We had a couple of guests with food allergies, and Reid's made sure to accommodate their needs. I would absolutely recommend Reid's for any special event catering!

I’ll start this off by saying it’s been 18 days since our wedding and people are still talking about how good our food was! We are foodies so this made us so happy! Everything was delicious and I’m still dreaming about the cake. I pretty much picked a flavor/style that I found during a google search and they accommodated. It turned out better than I imagined! Everyone was so easy to talk to and super helpful when answering questions. Trust me, I was one of those brides that had ALLLL the questions. Bottom line: amazing people, amazing food!

We booked Reid's Catering based on reviews that we read online, as well as a recommendation from our venue. We did not have an opportunity to attend a tasting beforehand as we are from out of state, but it was no issue whatsoever. For our wedding, we had a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres, a plated dinner for 110, and a dessert bar. We also hired bartenders to serve the wine and beer that we purchased on our own. Due to weather, we moved the cocktail hour to a completely different location, but Reid's was ON TOP of everything and most of the guests had no idea that the new location wasn't in our original plan from the beginning! The staff was wonderful, and every raved about how friendly everyone was. Also...the FOOD! Everything from the first appetizer to the last dessert was incredible. We've heard from multiple guests that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. If you're getting married in the Boone area, you must book Reid's!

Reid’s did an amazing job. They were so accommodating with all the dietary needs in the wedding party, as well as with guests. The menu they had was delicious and so fresh. They used seasonal vegetables and fruits. The butternut squash lasagna was one of the best foods I’ve ever eaten and all our guests raved about it!! The price per plate was extremely reasonable especially considering how incredible everything was. I would highly recommend Reid’s to anyone having an event in the high country. You will not be disappointed!

Reids catered our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception! My husband and I are big foodies so the food for our wedding weekend was important to us. They worked with us to create a special menu for our rehearsal dinner. We had the dinner at The Beacon and it was beautiful! All of our guests raved about the food. I would absolutely recommend them for any event!

Reid's was overall great for our wedding! The food tasted incredible, and with the presentation and creativity were a cut above average wedding food! Our guests were thrilled with their options on our buffet and with how delicious it was. Reid's does a professional job the day of, and let the bride and groom be involved in the process of creating a custom menu and appetizer selection. The day of, there were a few details that were not addressed as planned for those with dietary restrictions, but overall we were satisfied with the final result!

Reid's Catering Co. surpassed all of our (very high) expectations for our wedding day food. Tina and Susan are extremely professional, kind, punctual and responsive and were such a pleasure to work with. They have creative talents beyond what we could have imagined and instantly knew the vibe we were going for. They suggested food that we could not have dreamt of, to match our goals for our wedding day. The food was absolutely incredible. It was fresh, creative, delicious, and varied. The dessert was amazing as well. Our guests raved about the food for weeks and weeks after. We can't wait to go back and eat at Reid's café!

I heard once that you don't need your wedding food to be amazing, it just needs to be good. Reid's did not get this memo, the food they did for our rehearsal dinner and wedding was beyond amazing. We had so many compliments from our guests on how good the food was. We had a pop-up rain shower that moved our rehearsal dinner inside last minute, and they moved everything in a snap. I cannot say enough good things about their food and service.

We could not have been more pleased with our selection of caterers on the day of our wedding. The food and the service were phenomenal! Each one of the staff members went above and beyond to make us and our guests feel special. We received many compliments on how great the wait staff was throughout the reception. During set up, we ran into a space issue with our layout. Our head server, Julie, came up with an alternative that turned out even better than we could have hoped. I can't express how grateful I was to have such skilled and professional help on our special day. The whole evening went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Reid's to anyone looking for a delicious menu and wonderful staff.

Best food ever. It was so nice to have everything done to perfection for our 40th anniversary.

Reid's was absolutely incredible to work with! I cannot saying anything but glowing and wonderful things about the entire experience. Tina is awesome and so much fun. From the beginning she has been on the ball, innovative, and all around good to work with. The food was incredible, way better than your typical buffet wedding food. It fit the theme of our wedding perfectly and guests couldn't stop commenting about it all, especially the mac and cheese. Her staff, especially bartenders, were very attentive and fun! Tina with Reid's is wonderful. She's simply the best of the best in the high country. Her and her staff were professional, courteous, and great to work with. Her company made the food at our wedding so memorable for us and for our guests.

I hate to write negative reviews, but I feel like I have to when it comes to Reid's catering of my wedding. Up until the wedding, everything was easy and cordial with Tina Houston, owner of Reid's catering. But it all went downhill the day of the wedding and subsequent days. Tina blatantly disregarded the contract we had signed in terms of food preparation, cook, and quality. The food was not cooked per our discussion and was cold and dry (it also sat out the day of the wedding for over 2 hours before the reception started!!) Once the wedding was all said and done, we proceeded to contact Tina to discuss what happened and to pursue compensation for the breach of contract (which is very standard in the catering business when there are issues such as we experienced). At first Tina made excuses for her mistakes, instead of owning up to them and then she stopped answering our calls/emails. At one point Tina's assistant hung up on us! Next thing we know, we get an email from her lawyer ordering a "Cease and Desist". This email came so quickly, I can only image they have this lawyer on retainer and that this must happen frequently. I am very disappointed at how this all went down. Had Reid's Catering simply addressed the issues and acted professionally this could all have been avoided. The food was edible although it was cold and dull. I would not recommend Reid's Catering for any event.

Reid's Catering was so pleasant to work with! They were willing to invest so much time into our day and the months before. They put up with countless emails and questions from a type A bride! Tina even met us at our venue and offered her expert eye at design and layout as well. The evening flowed so smoothly. Every staff member truly served with joy and grace. The food was delicious too! The display was beautiful and you felt like you were walking into a bountiful freshly cooked meal that had been created just for you! More guests than I can count commented on how out of the ordinary every taste was! So very pleased!

I highly highly recommend Reid's Catering. Tinah Houston is one of the easiest, flexible, deidicated people to work with. She was very patient with us as we changed and altered the menu several times. One of her best attributes is that she chooses to use local and organic products from Boone whenever possible. This does cause the pricing to go up a bit, but it is well worth it.
