Renaissance at the Gables is a premier wedding venue located in the heart of Miami, FL. This wonderful venue has been helping newlyweds create magical memories of their big day for over 40 years. It is the perfect location for couples seeking a sophisticated and extravagant wedding experience. Owned and operated by the Elias family for over four decades, this spectacular venue can cater to between 50 to 500 guests. Renaissance at the Gables has a proven track record in the wedding industry. They believe that every wedding is a unique occasion and strive to provide each couple with an array of options when planning their special day. Their core beliefs of quality, elegance, and consistency have stood the test of time and they pride themselves on the ability to exceed expectations. The dedicated wedding planning team will help with everything from choosing the right menu selections to designing the perfect decorations and they are on hand to guide clients through every step of the process. There is even an indoor and outdoor chapel available for onsite ceremonies with theater seating for 500 guests.
Renaissance at the Gables offers a whole host of packages that can be customized to meet the needs of each client. Catering is offered in-house by a team of master chefs but couples are also free to use external caterers if that is their preference. The team can provide event furniture if desired and they have a huge selection of Chiavari chairs in a variety of colors. Photography, lighting, and floral arrangements are also available in-house, and they can even arrange wedding transportation on the big day with a selection of limousines to choose from. This magnificent venue also boasts a self-contained state-of-the-art nightclub where newlyweds and guests can party into the small hours of the morning.

I cannot say enough good things about Renaissance Ballrooms. Due to a last-minute logistical change, we had to completely pivot our wedding plans just two months before the big day...
. I reached out to the venue while living in another country, and from the very beginning, Tony made everything seamless. We communicated primarily over email and phone, and despite the distance, I felt fully supported. The first time I even saw the venue was the day before the wedding, and yet, everything came together beautifully.
Tony and the team worked with us every step of the way to bring our vision to life. They offered helpful suggestions without ever being pushy, and were always accessible whenever I called as we got closer to the date. The venue itself was stunning—clean bathrooms, great AC (which is no small thing for a room full of dancing guests!), and a setup that allowed our day to flow effortlessly.
They coordinated everything, from florals to the DJ, cake, photography, walk on cloud, cold sparklers, dance floor vinyl stickers, and even the Photo Booth. While the DJ and photographer weren’t necessarily our favorite vendors of the night, the overall execution was excellent. And let me tell you: the cake was delicious!
One of the best parts was being connected to Betty, our day-of coordinator. She was a dream: professional, warm, and laser-focused on making the day run smoothly. She even stayed past her contracted time just to make sure everything ended well. Her presence was a blessing.
The team never told us “no” to anything. They always found a way to accommodate what we wanted, and that kind of flexibility meant the world. From beginning to end, the experience was high-value, low-stress, and filled with joy.
If you’re planning a wedding in South Florida, I wholeheartedly recommend Renaissance Ballrooms. Working with Tony was such a gift. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.

If you plan to have your wedding here, I highly recommend that you get everything in writing and have them sign it. One person will tell you one thing, and another will say something completely different. That was one of the biggest issues we faced.
During our rehearsal, Tony completely lost control of himself. He became aggressive and even threatened to throw all of my wedding décor outside. Instead of speaking to me. the bride respectfully, he directed his frustration toward my matron of honor and then took it out on me. His behavior was completely unacceptable and humiliating.
Tony was extremely rude on the day we brought in our decorations. Instead of allowing us a moment to unload, he told us, “We’re closing soon,” in a rude tone. Then, in the middle of unloading, he actually turned off the lights on us. I contacted Rose regarding this matter and she stated I was being treated like this because of my matron of honor. Not a response I was expecting from the owner. No accountability held for her staff as if me and my husband did not give our hard earned money away. For us to be treated like crap!
Betty took payment for the uplighting but never provided a receipt. On our wedding day, the uplighting we paid $420. It was never turned on. When we brought it up, they blamed our coordinator… even though she had no idea where the lights were. So we basically lost $420. The venue was supposed to be responsible for that part since they were the ones that received the payment! not my coordinator! But Rose still blamed it on my coordinator!
To make things worse, several of our guests complained that the bartenders were rude to them. We paid for this service, and our guests should have been treated with respect.
Rose was kind, but unfortunately, she does not hold her staff accountable for their behavior. Once they take your money, they do not care about you or your experience. I broke down several times because of how stressful and hurtful the entire situation was and no bride should ever have to feel that way on their wedding day.
After the wedding, Betty agreed via text message that we could come pick up our decorations on Wednesday since they close at 5 p.m. However, even with that agreement in place, my husband which is a Police Officer. he was in the middle of responding to a call…Tony still called. Then Betty had the audacity to call me as well, asking the same question, even though she was the one who confirmed that Wednesday was fine.
At the end of us picking up our things, they didn’t even say “congratulations” or “thank you” nothing at all. Betty walked in the reception room only to make sure we were picking everything up. While Tony walked around with his nasty attitude. They completely ignored us as if we hadn’t just been paying customers who celebrated one of the biggest moments of our lives there.
We were so worried they might throw our belongings outside especially after what happened with Tony during the rehearsal… that both of us rushed straight from work to the venue just to make sure everything was safe. That’s not how any couple should be treated after paying thousands of dollars for a wedding.
As a Black couple, we also felt that we were not treated with the same respect or care as other clients. It truly felt like there was bias in the way we were spoken to and handled, which made the experience even more painful. THEY ARE RACIST!

n a decent budget. At the time of my wedding, we were saving to buy a house and amidst planning the wedding, got pregnant also. Tony and all the staff made my wedding day so perfect. I can’t say enough about them. They were patient, helped me to bring my vision to life and it was truly the best day ever. I got a complete package and everything from the photos to every last detail exceeded every expectation.
After my wedding, I have recommended them to several friends and I’ve also attended other events and I have yet to be disappointed. Recently, March 1, 2019, I assisted a friend with her retirement party at the 8 street location. Everything was perfect and I got to personally see the photo booth available through Eikonwynd. A beautiful addition to the event and it was truly a hit!

Since my husband and I were on a budget, I tried to negotiate with her for a Sunday wedding during low wedding season. She did include some things such as chibbarri chairs and fondant cake, but after some talk, she turned around to my then fiance and said, "Boy, she is a real bitch, how do you put up with her?"
For people who know me, I am a very soft spoken and educated person. That was a deal breaker for me. We also witnessed other young couples coming in to "make payments" and were made to wait and treated in this arrogant manner. This is a family owned business and the nephew is the photographer, etc. He was also a bit arrogant but at least had the decency to not insult prospective customers! lol!
These people offered a 4 hour reception (to include cocktail) with different prices on different days. They also required a 100 person minimum, so regardless of how many guests showed up, you would be charged for 100 people.
We were able to find another venue that offered a 6 hour reception with the same price on all days and they were absolutely EXCEPTIONAL! They also allowed to give a final guest count one week prior to the wedding. Well, our wedding went from 100 people to 70! They were also very professional and the food & drinks were great, great, great!
I think that it is important that the Renaissance come to realize that they are not the only venue out there and that they are not living up to their competition!
I had even seen them on 'Four Weddings' show recently and when a guest asked what a certain food was, the waiter could not speak English!

n amazing job in getting everything together for us. She was flexible with our needs and always provided an excellent service guiding us. We would schedule time with her and she was readily available for us when we got there which was crucial for us since we were from out of town. Tony the photographer arranged a photographer for us on the 11th hour with a great price based on our budget.
The day of the wedding, a few minor things needed attention, but nothing to jump about it. I got there ahead of time to ensure that everything was set up as I and my wife would expect and it was. The decorations and the flowers were beautiful. The lighting was great for us. We had our wedding on the Fontana Room and after the ceremony were moved next door with our guests while they prepare the place for the reception which was done in less than 30 minutes. Once the room was completed, our guests were moved back after a great bar service and hors d'oeuvres. The food was great. All of our guests raved about the food. We made the choice of the London Broil and the Scalloped Potatoes. The London Broil was perfect and the Scalloped Potatoes was a big hit for our guests; everyone wanted more.
I must warn you though, this place is run by an entire family that really knows their business and is a 'Cuban' place which means is always really busy and loud when you go to meet with them. Rosy is a huge multitasker and it might give the impression that as she is juggling people on the phone, people that walk in, etc that she is not 100% with you; please trust me SHE IS. She is on the ball constantly. She is extremely passionate on how she does things and an extreme perfectionist; so don't take it to heart if you go visit her for your planning and she is all over. She is actually paying attention to you while at the same time ensuring that other events are planed as expected. She will do the same thing for your event and that is a welcome process.
We will for sure use Renaissance At The Gables for any future events. The care and attention to detail that we received and the great service and flexibility is worth the money. At the end of the day all it really matters is the outcome of the event and for us we had a great time and so did our guests.

We were able to get exactly what we wanted and though the first food tasting wasn't the best the second was better and we were pleased. I was worried about the food since my guest know I'm a foodie at heart and I refused to serve bad food at my wedding. I had my ceremony and reception there and I'm glad. The place looked beautiful! All of my guest raved about how beautiful the reception hall looked. They had just painted a week prior, so everything looked spotless. The only two mishaps were that they forgot to put out my wedding favors until I asked and Rose quickly brought them up for the guest to take on their way out. Not how I had pictured it but at least people got to see them. The other thing was we ended up using their cake as the grooms cake since it wasn't up to our standards. They ended up cutting that one first and cutting little thin slices. Not a good move specially since we had a three tier cake that I indicated I wanted cut and passed around. All and all, I would do it all over again there but just be very away of what I am doing. The staff over all (aside from Tony) was always very good to my husband and I and I would tell any bride on a budget (as I was) to look at this venue as a possibility. Everyone thought my wedding was more than what we actually paid for, but I'm sure that had to do with all the extra things we did, outside of the venue. Decorations, flowers, musicians, etc.

Everyone complained about the bar! They make you pay for 1-2 police officers, however, after 6 pm they have a restaurant and the other side becomes a club -- so in essence you are paying for security for their other 2 businesses. Not once did I even see the police officer(s) that I paid for. Also, my decorating team got to the venue to begin decorating at 2 pm and they were dismissed and told to leave everything that the would take care if everything. Not once were we told that there was another function scheduled before mine. We found out that they had squeezed in a baby shower before my event. They event send the chair company away and told them to come back at 5 pm (my event began at 7 pm). In the event industry, that is a very big risk - since those companies are on a schedule and planned route. At thee end, I ended up noticing that things that had been bought were never even taken out of the boxes because the person in charge said they didn't know where everything was supposed to go. Their DJ, Charlie, wad terrible to say the least. Place is not well up-kept and is run down. Frankly, this is a never again venue! There's lots more but so little time to write.

It was a terrible experience, they didn't set up the venue like they said they would, the dj turn off the music half hour before the party was over, the guest were charged a $5 dollar fee for parking, when I specifically asks for this not to happen! They follow their contact, but they change their copy to their convenience. Not only are they unprofessional, but when I tried to call and mention all the mistakes they were extremely rude. I wouldn't dare choose this vendor for a wedding!
Please don't waste your money in this venue!!!!
