AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID
We were initially so excited with booking The Baltimore Renaissance for our wedding, however that excitement quickly abated.
From the beginning, they were not transparent and delayed allowing us to book their Watertable room citing that another couple was in negotiations for weeks (They gave us 1 week once the contract was created). Only after we complained about the logistics of two weddings happening at the same time did they give us this room (for $1,200). We then had 3 different wedding planners over the course of the year causing us to have to repeat conversations multiple times. Katherine, who ended up leaving, would go weeks without answering emails.
We were then assigned Nadine, who did a good job but appeared to be overwhelmed with the amount of work she had. Things really took a turn for the worse with 45 days until the wedding. At that time, we found out a 250 person wedding would happen literally right next door to our 150 person wedding at the same time.
The hotel assured us that this would not be a problem, however it only took until cocktail hour to realize that was not true as our guests had to LITERALLY walk through their cocktail party to reach our cocktail party. The venue also told us that they would have ushers and an area roped off so our guests would not interrupt their party, however this didn't happen and guests were confused and it looked messy
As for the "day of" planner included by the hotel, we literally saw her once or twice at most. Thankfully we hired our own planner who was basically doing both their jobs. We suspect the hotel planner was busy tending to the larger wedding, which made our wedding feel even further like an afterthought for the venue.
There was no part of this that honestly went smoothly. Multiple guests of ours had issues with their room cards not working locking them out of their rooms and the check in line was frequently 50+ people deep. The hotel cancelled our parent's reservations and did not follow through on them getting complementary upgrades. Our parents had already gotten settled once we found out and we asked for the hotel to give them a bottle of wine which they agreed to do, however this was never followed through.
During the tasting, the hotel planner told us that they would send up any food we wanted and we requested all of the food from cocktail hour. At 1:00am, we made it to our room to find that they sent up soggy pretzels and bratwursts instead (our after party food). If they simply didn't say anything we would have just done it ourselves but we (incorrectly) relied on them despite all evidence pointing against doing so.
Finally, if you somehow weren't scared off by all of the above, take my advice and get everything they say in writing. At the eleventh hour, the venue suddenly increased its champagne toasts from $2 pp to $7 and bottles of wine went from $51 per bottle to $60. They did honor our prices once we showed the email correspondence, but it was just another example of us needing to be on top of anything that involved this venue.
Overall, our wedding went very well and we had an amazing time in spite of the hotel/venue being one of the most incompetent places I've ever experienced. I can't recommend you avoid this venue enough and would urge you to go literally anywhere else in Baltimore. If you do decide to go with them, do yourself a favor and hire a planner day one so you don't pull your hair out before your big day!

This is long overdue but here it goes. Recently (in March) my sister had her wedding at this venue and let me tell you: they are so easy and professional to work with. We had a Pakistani Wedding and since the beginning both Joy and Katherine worked with us to make this wedding a possibility. Being a brown family is not easy when you have too many changes and the ladies were very accommodating and understanding from the beginning with our changes. We had room issue too for the bridal suite and yet it was taken care of with utmost care and they even complimentary gave us 2 extra nights for the mishaps from their cleaning crew. The way they worked with us and our vendors was really helpful. Everything was transparent and the communication leading up to the wedding was very professional. Thank you!

Venue was fantastic, the staff working the event were amazing. Overall we were very happy with this venue. With that being said our event coordinator provided by the hotel was Terrible. She lacked answers to many questions and rather then saying she would get back to us she just said I don’t know. When we received a statement for extras on linen and flatware, she forwarded us the bill without looking at it because she said it was too expensive for the hotel to cover. After reviewing the bill ourselves majority of the bill was covered by the hotel and was not relayed to other vendor. Our hotel coordinator told us in an email that she did not even look at it. Leading up to the event she asked some questions about how the day would look. We gave her a schedule and she shows up day of event with no paperwork in hand not knowing what was going on stating we did not send her anything. Luckily the fantastic staff that worked there had a copy of the schedule we gave the coordinator. We learned early on in the planning phase that our hotel rep was not going to be helpful. If anything she added more stress to everything. Even our vendors struggled to get questions answered.

My husband and I are so happy that we chose the Renaissance as our wedding venue! The entire facility was simply beautiful (from the lobby, to the banquet rooms, to guest rooms) and so conveniently located for all out of town guests. The service and accommodations we (and our loved ones) received were top notch. From the front desk staff who distributed our welcome boxes, to the venue-assigned Wedding coordinator who was always a text away, all were beyond professional and kind!!!
The venue added special touches to our experience which exceeded our expectations. Overall, this venue was perfect and outstanding!

We had a wedding reception at the Renaissance Hotel. It was ansolutely beautiful and everything was exactly how we wanted it. Edward was our wedding coordinator and he was so helpful, honest, and detailed. The food was amazing and the cake was delicious and beautiful. All of the staff at the hotel is extremely polite and helpful. They literally waited on us hand and foot. Everyone there went above and beyond to make sure everyhing was perfect. We can't say enough good things about our experience at the Renaissance. The wedding package is absolutely amazing!

Our wedding at the Renaissance was perfect - our ceremony and reception were in the Watertable Ballroom overlooking the Inner Harbor on a beautiful summer day. Joy was our event planner, and she was wonderful to work with. She really made us feel important, and accommodated every single one of our requests (including setting up a private space for brunch for us the next morning) and left us a sweet note and champagne in our room after the wedding was over. It was truly the best day, and I'm so happy we went with the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel for our wedding!

We are so so glad we went with the Renaissance for our wedding day! From day 1 when we toured the venue through every step of the process and our wedding day, the Renaissance and their staff were amazing! We got married in the Watertable Ballroom, had our cocktail hour in the Watertable Foyer, and our reception in the Watertable Ballroom. The space, the food, everything was absolutely perfect! Allison Craig was our event manager and she was more than accommodating. She made sure we had everything we needed, and was extremely responsive every step of the way. The fire alarm went off during our reception and Allison was super apologetic, even though there was nothing she could have done for it, but she gave us some extra time for our band to play which was extremely kind. When we got back to our room, there was a bottle of champagne waiting. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding day and are extremely grateful to the Renaissance for the part they played in it!

We booked a room block here and it was great. The service during the planning and the actual stay was fantastic. They were very easy to work with and quick to respond to emails/phone calls. The suite we got for the wedding night was huge with an amazing view (plenty of room for the bridesmaids to get hair and make up done). The views and location of the hotel are perfect for pictures! We got a little treat (champagne and cookies) left in our room for us to enjoy after the wedding. It was a great hotel to work with.

The Renaissance was the perfect venue for us. You can't beat the views and location, the space is beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff was the best! Susan- the sales manager was great at ensuring everything we wanted could be accomplished before we signed the contract. She was wonderful to work with and checked in with us several times throughout the planning process. Our coordinator, Devon was amazing. She was super responsive and not once did she tell us "no- that can't be done". She made our day the best day of our lives! I would highly recommend for your elegant and unforgettable Inner Harbor Wedding!

Our wedding reception was perfect. The food was incredible, service was organized and courteous, location in the Inner Harbor cannot be beat. We looked at a lot of locations within the Inner Harbor/downtown Baltimore area and we found the wedding packages actually gave us a lot more for our money than some of the other inner harbor hotels. Everything went off without a hitch thanks to our wedding coordinator Edward. He and the staff really made the whole experience stress free and smooth. We were able to reserve a block of rooms for our out-of-town guests and the price was a little higher than some of the other hotels downtown but the rooms really were quite lovely and obviously convenient to the reception! We were just so pleased with our experience at the Renaissance we would most highly recommend it to any Baltimore couple!

I visited many venues, but my mind always went back to the Baltimore Marriott Renaissance Harborplace Hotel. The staff were warm, welcoming and responded to my every question and need. They customized a menu based on my Oktoberfest wedding theme, and the food tasted more delicious than I ever could have imagined. They helped my mom and sister host a wonderful wedding shower brunch, collaborated with Charm City Cakes to deliver a customized German-themed cake that incorporated not only great tasting cake, but decor that told the story of how me and my fiance met. The wedding planner Edward not only coordinated the vendors and details of our wedding day, but was also a great support to me, my fiance, and my parents in answering any questions or concerns we had, keeping our event within budget, and helping keep us stress-free for the event. Edward made sure that the wedding planning process was enjoyable and our wedding could not have been pulled off so beautifully without him and the wonderful staff at Marriott Renaissance Harborplace in Baltimore. I highly recommend them for any event!

This is a great place for out-of-town guests. It is easily accessible and in a great location. The rooms are very modern and comfortable and we were able to secure a good rate. We also used suite to get ready in and they were very spacious. The staff was very helpful in planning and with all of our requests.

I will say on the day of my wedding I was walking on air at the hotel they delivered lunch while we were getting ready and the reception room was beyond beautiful. My food was fabulous and the person attending my husband and me was a joy. My only issue is that the wedding planner assigned me was not the greatest to deal with. Small issues like my name not being in the ballroom and the names of the couple the night before being up. Also make sure that you review the charges very carefully and if possible don't use a credit card for charges the day of. I believe this was a personnel issue not the overall company though

Everything was what I dreamed of and more at my wedding here. The wedding planner Edward was exceptional and ensured success. The customer service was above average from every employee we interacted with throughout our 4 night stay. The location is perfect directly in the heart of the city at the inner harbor. The food was excellent from the o'dourves to the entrees. Highly recommend this venue.

After touring many hotels in downtown Baltimore, we knew the Renaissance would be the place for us! The ballrooms are beautiful and the rooms at the hotel were recently renovated and re-decorated which made the stay for our guests that much more enjoyable. We were planning the wedding from out of town (NC) so my parents took care of a lot of the logisitcs for us. We truly enjoyed woring with Edward Good, who is the wedding coordinator. He was very detail-oriented and a great point of contact on the day of the wedding. The food was fantastic - I was amazed at the quality of steak and fish selections. Everyone commented on how delicious the food and cocktail hour appetizers were.
