Renaissance Dallas Hotel

AVOID OVERBILLING ON YOUR CREDIT CARD AND TERRIBLE STAFF COMMUNICATION!!! At all costs if you are working with Jennifer Hungerford their event director, you are going to be disappointed with her lack of ability in the role and frankly any care to run a good event as per contract. We had a 200 guest wedding over 4 days at multiple venues. We selected Renaissance hotel in Dallas for all our guests to stay and host multiple events at the hotel for our ceremony and reception. 1) The hotel staff were supposed to provide gift bags to our hotel guests (that we paid for and specifically gave instructions to not ask for guest credit cards)... the staff would forget to hand out giftbags and start taking credit card details from our guests after over 5 reminders to the same people on the same day. 2) If you called their front desk for any request such as sending fresh towels. It was 100% of the time ignored. This was an experience over 4 days at the hotel. 3) We were quoted for a custom menu at $102/PP. On the wedding reception none of the items were selected from the tasting were presented, beef was served right in the middle of the table (when this was a Hindu wedding and was told no beef to be served at all). To "make it right" they offered me 25,000 points on my marriot loyalty program which is equal to the most basic room for 1 night, no where near the expected compensation. 4) The hotel then charged over $50K in one go to the wrong credit card without sending us an itemized bill or explanation of the charges. It has been 1 month since our wedding and they sent the itemized bill showing overcharges in multiple line items for e.g. our contract said $10/PP for a drink. But they charged us $11/PP. To date although they have acknowledged the overcharges have not refunded any amount and no one answers their phone line. 5) Without sending me any refunds or credits. They attempted to pull another $50K (the same amount they charged me) to my father in laws card but luckily his card company knew it was a fraudulent charge. Currently, their new position is they will only refund the credit card they incorrectly charged if I provide a new credit card, again without any itemized bill that matches our contract rates. They are a company that are unprofessional and unethical to hold peoples card details as they will charge your card without any accompanying documentation, they will not deliver on contract promises and then never return your calls after you are chasing for the refunds owed.
