ROBERT LEGERE is a scam artist. Completely dropped off the face of the earth after taking our 50 PERCENT deposit. Website has been down for months, emails all get kicked back, and phone goes straight to voicemail. I'm left to hire another bartender just months before my wedding and out thousands of dollars.
After exchanging several emails with a seemingly friendly, albeit overpriced vendor, I was shocked when his usually pleasant emails took a severe turn as he callously explained they had accidentally overbooked my wedding weekend and could no longer provide services. I cannot say definitively what caused the abrupt end to our exchanges, but when I reviewed my last email I immediately recognized that it included the first identification of my sexuality. I couldn’t help but feel there was some underlying cause and effect but the desire to confirm this was quickly overshadowed by the panic of being without vendor so close to my wedding day.
When I contacted Rent-a-bartender I had begrudgingly decided to include the fact that the services would be for a same sex wedding, hoping to avoid any further let downs. When Peter contacted me the following day I felt instant relief. Not only did he proclaim love for LGBT weddings, but he disclosed that his company was owned and operated by members of of the LGBT community.
Our exchanges were daily as I made decisions on packages and considered bar options. I was so impressed with his honesty as he guided me away from spending extra money on unnecessary items and services.
When Rob, the owner reached out to me via phone call I was both impressed and honored. He took the time to explain options I hadn’t decided on and expressed understanding while working within my budget. I assumed he had called solely to solidify a plan, but before I could go he stopped me. “I wanted to ask you something about your initial inquiry” he said carefully. “You asked if we were okay with LGBT weddings, and I was wondering if that has been an issue for you in planning?”
His concern was genuine and thoughtful. His approach left me completely disarmed. I shared some of the struggles we faced when vendors would stop responding or would respond with phrases like “Christian-based” or “traditional marriage.” He offered sympathy and listened intently as I recounted some of these emails. What was originally a standard vendor call quickly became the vent session I didn’t know I needed. He was the CEO of a successful business and he took the time to reach out and offer comfort and a listening ear. He even followed up after the wedding to ensure we were satisfied and had enjoyed our night.
My new BFF Peter continued his support throughout the remainder of the planning process, immediately responding to to emails well into the middle of the night. I have since encouraged he practice some serious self care and leave his emails for the morning!
The day of the wedding proved stressful as vendors ran behind schedule, forgot items, and struggled with WiFi.
The Rent-a-Bartender team was prompt and efficient in setup, breakdown and delivery. The bartenders were amazing and professional. While I didn’t have eyes on the bar the entire night, I never saw so much as a line form for a open bar with over 100 guests in attendance. Guests enjoyed their drinks. The illuminated bars were stunning and truly added to the aesthetic of an outdoor wedding under the stars. The pricing was incredible for the standard of service provided and the overall experience far exceeded my expectations.
I don’t know what I would have done without Peter and the entire Rent-a-bartender team, but I am eternally grateful for whatever serendipitous force lead me to this vendor. I will never use another catering company.
I"m not one to write reviews but I am compelled to do so for this company. Planning a wedding on your own can be a huge undertaking. Our families advised us that we would need to select service providers that really cared about helping us with all of our last minute questions and possible hiccups. Best advice I can offer someone else who's planning their own wedding, definitely go with Rent a Bartender here.
James and Peter in the office came through so many times for us and event the owner, Robert stepped in and showed up to our venue site to help with some last minute "day of" issues due in part by our lack of good planning. This is a company that really means it when they promise great customer service.
We used them to fully cater our bar services and we were very impressed with the package selections they offered us and worked with us to stay within a per person cost range for it.
The staff they sent us was totally amazing. You often think you're going to get people who just show up, plaster a fake smile on their face and grind through the job. Not these guys! Totally professional and expert bartenders but most importantly, they had such great personalities with connecting with our friends and family. We had more compliments about these guys that any other service provider we used.

We recently had our wedding at Thalatta Estate in Miami and had been working with the team at Rent A Bartender for many months leading up to our date. It took us some time to figure out what we wanted in terms of bar service and consumption for all our family and friends but these guys really worked with us to make things easy. Communication with their office was probably the best in terms of all the vendors we used when it came to communicating our needs and hashing through details. We had a few last minute changes in terms of set up due to weather and these guys really pulled no punches in helping us quickly change the entire set up. Day of, their team even pulled together to help our other vendors move things around to make sure we had enough help. Jessica and I are glad we made the right choice in going with this company. Very friendly staff as many of our family and friends commented to us on their service and ability to conversate and connect with them. We both are born and raised in South Florida and will be sure to recommend Rent A Bartender to our friends. Thank you again for making things so easy for us.
Cannot honestly award this vendor any stars. What was supposed to be an amazing stressed free event turned into a frantic search and extra payments for another vendor. Hire Mr. Legere and his company to do bar service at a wedding. Two weeks before the wedding I received an email stating he was unable to secure the necessary liability insurance because his insurance company would not insure him at a gambling establishment. Seeing that he stated in our original phone call that he was familiar with the venue he would have known that The Lake Worth Casino Ballroom is simply a name and there is no gambling occurring any where on the premises. Since then I have been given the run around regarding the money I paid him. Really thought you were a high caliber vendor. Honestly Mr. Legere... I am completely and totally disappointed in how you have handled this whole thing.
Robert is amazing!! He answered every question I had for him and called me multiple times to ensure that everything was how we wanted it. The bartender was great and he showed up on time to set everything up. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone. Thank you so much Robert and the Rent-a-bartender staff for everything you did for our wedding day!
Words can't describe how helpful Robert Legere and his Rent-A-Bartender team were in helping us plan our special day. Robert went above and beyond to make sure our special day ran as smooth as possible. Robert's can do attitude and willingness to help, provided us event planning advice as well as our wedding reception's alcohol services and linens. Robert guided us through the whole process that is 'planning a wedding', and frankly I am sure with out him, it would not have turned out as great as our big night was! He and his staff were truly amazing.
Pam and I found this company about 6 months before our wedding and had been planning everything on our own. Robert and his team really did an amazing job for us.
They developed a great bar menu with some great signature cocktails. Our friends and family really liked the quality of bartending and staff that was provided for our wedding. Top notch for sure.
We asked for some really complicated cocktails and without blinking, they delivered everything we could have asked for. They provided all the bar stock, dinner stock and even the furnishings.
Amazing service and a special thanks for Robert for all his help. This company knows what they are doing from start to finish. Worth every single penny spent.

Words can't express how thrilled things turned out by selecting this catering company for my recent summer wedding. I started out only selecting Rent a bartender for a few bartenders and their beautiful bar furniture but ended up having them provide the cocktail & bar beverage catering as well. Best choice I could have ever made. The staff they provided for our wedding were so great. Having them provide all the bar cocktails and equipment made things so much easier. They handled everything perfectly and their office was amazing at asking all the right questions. Probably the best vendor I hired for my wedding. I wish I had used them for food portion on my wedding also. If any brides 2 be out there is reading my review, this is the vendor you want for your wedding! Simply stunning service. Highly recommend.
These guys saved us last minute!!! My husband & I just recently had our wedding on Aug. 21 in Miami. We originally signed and booked with a different company to do all the bar service at the reception and dinner. We booked 8 months in advance and suddenly they canceled on us 1 week before our wedding. We found Rent-A-Bartender here on The Knot and explained the last minute issue of needing a provider. This company came to our rescue, provided all the beverages and staff we needed without blinking an eye. I only wished I had found rent a bartender before having to go though all the stress of our previous provider canceling on us without warning.
Rent-A-Bartender saved our wedding without question. They are very professional, fast and know how to provide an amazing product and service. We loved the bartenders and support staff they sent us and all our friends & family commented to us how much they enjoyed the bar staff and cocktails.

I found this amazing company back in March 2014 when we were planning our wedding at the Deering Estate. We had come across them as a recommendation from a friend of ours who had used them for a non-wedding event. Rent a bartender did such an amazing job with our cocktail reception and main bar reception, we've been using them for all our family holiday parties as well. Living in Ft. Lauderdale, they now are the first and only call for our holiday parties and my sister is using them for her wedding in 2017.
This is a company that really does deliver solid customer service. We will continue to be using them for all our social event needs.

They arrived with more than enough time to set up the sailboat bar facing the waterfront and made sure everything was ready once the guests started to arrive. Rent-A-Bartender made everything so easy for us.

We used Rent-A-Bartender for our wedding reception at Thalatta Estate and was very impressed with the level of customer service their office provided us. We decided to have them do all the beverage catering and it was the best choice we could have made. They handled everything in relation with dealing with the venue. Setting up everything and serving our guests with amazing attention to detail. Christopher and Elizabeth were the staff they sent and our guests loved them. We greatly appreciate everything Rent-A-Bartender did for us in making our wedding stress free and easy to enjoy. Highly recommend this professional company.
