Communication with Andrew was never hard. He answered questions and got back to us in a timely manner. However, I discussed all of the details with Andrew about what songs went with what, especially the ceremony entrance songs. I thought all was good then a few days before the wedding I got an email stating that something had come up and Andrew would no longer be handling our wedding. Instead it would be Tyquan. I had no problem with the switch up if EVERY detail was sent to Tyquan, every detail was understood, and we could speak with him. Well, I had asked MULTIPLE times to be able to speak with this new DJ so that I could ensure the details were right and to make us feel better about the last minute switch up, but we couldn't. All planning had to go through Andrew. Fast forward to the big day, Tyquan was great. He was kind and very easy to talk to and I feel that if I were able to fully converse and plan with him considering he was the one dj'ing that the day would have went perfectly but there was mix ups in the intro songs which caused confusion for the wedding party and things did not go as planned. Over all, it didn't ruin the day but was aggravating that it didn't go like it was supposed to due to, what seems to be a pretty regular thing, of switching up djs at last minute.

BEWARE brides and grooms. We hired Andrew to DJ our wedding in Newport News, Virginia, and he did not show up! Instead, he notified me 18 minutes after he was contracted to begin playing music for my wedding that he sent a random replacement WITHOUT our consent or any prior notification. We were never offered the opportunity to discuss this or request our money back since Andrew would not be rendering the service. The DJ he sent (Tyquan) told my husband and I that he had only been a DJ for 6-months and was still working on his “crowd engagement skills.” Imagine how disastrous this went over in the services (or lack thereof) rendered. He played the wrong music several times, introduced one of my special parent dances wrong (I had went over this in detail several times with Andrew), and left the DJ booth several times to ask for direction because he was poorly prepared. We had been communicating with Andrew for over a year about our wedding and he assured us that we would not run into any issues and that he would be there to DJ. We even trusted him and paid in full upfront prior to our wedding…BIG MISTAKE. I would not suggest submitting any monies in full upfront until he arrives at your event. Andrew made sure to follow up with me to check in on when he would receive his full payment, however, became unresponsive after getting our money and ultimately unavailable on our wedding day! Andrew’s lack of professionalism ruined the wedding/reception of my dreams and now I am stuck with regret and what-ifs about how my wedding could’ve gone had I not trusted him. We spent thousands of dollars on our big day only to have guests mention that playing music on our iPhone would have been better than hiring such poorly prepared (un)professionals. The worst part about it is that when we contacted Andrew, he told us that he “THOUGHT” he reached out to us to with notification but he never did because “the message didn’t send.” Imagine being a bride and getting this information 18-minutes after you thought your vendor had already began rendering services. When we spoke to him, he was very nonchalant and annoyed that we confronted him on breaching our agreed upon and signed contract. This was a heard lesson learned for us as a couple and after investing so much money into a day that we can never get back.

I would not recommend for hire for any event. He didn't review the contract before calling to confirm order of events for our wedding. We had to remind him that we paid for him to come to our rehearsal or he would have forgotten to do so. It was good he did come to the rehearsal because he couldn't get his microphones to work. He seemed very stressed the whole day and was rude when talking to the bride about entrances and made another rude comment about the bride because she wanted the set up to be outside as planned. He played maybe one song that was on our submitted playlists when the dancing started and refused to move inside once it started to rain and was rude to everyone when he had to pack up his equipment alone. Sir, we paid $1400 for you to be there, we are not asking our guests to help you. Plus, he left 2.5 hours early because he refused to go inside and continue playing music when we paid for 6 hours of service. All around a rude and very not understanding guy. He will tell you nothing is ever his fault and it’s always someone else did something. Very rude- has basically no social skills which transfers over to the environment he is being the DJ in which is very lame. I wouldn’t waste your money, find someone actually qualified!!

DJ Andrew and Rhodey Entertainment were amazing! We had a small wedding of around 80 in a lovely venue, Station No. 2, and he rocked the place out. DJ Andrew was very detailed oriented and we gave him a list of songs and he delivered an amazing set featuring Spanish music, cumbia, salsa, rig atone, and top 40 hits and throw back favorites. It was perfect! The guests had a great time and the music set the tone. I can not stay enough good things about DJ Andrew and Rhodey Entertainment. Thank you for making our wedding magical.

Andrew was amazing to work with! He was very professional and he definitely cares about his clients. So many of our wedding guests talked about how much fun the reception was. The dance floor was never empty!! He did an awesome job at reading the room if guests were not feeling the song. My husband and I will definitely recommend him to our family and friends for future events.

First and foremost, I want to say that I definitely recommend him as your DJ. You will feel heard and will receive professional care. We spoke about my expectation, he had thorough paperwork with things I hadn’t even considered, and he understood what I meant when I told him that I did not need a hype man. My husband and I gave him a list of song that were a must and he curated a playlist that friends are still asking for.

Andrew was professional,on time and did a fantastic job! We had a great wedding and reception! I would refer him to all friends and family! Thank you so much!

Andrew was wonderful. On time, professional and all the equipment needed. He followed our requests and made the wedding reception all about the couple and the music! No constant jibber jabber or inserting himself as the star, but still funny and encouraging all to dance and have fun. He made the reception!!
