River City Catering

River City Catering was fantastic! Compared to all the catering options we looked at for the wedding, this was the best cost option but also the best quality option for us too! Their taste testing service was wonderful and all the food was so great. They really allowed us full customization power over our menu for our wedding which was so great. Day of, their services were amazing and all our guests loved the food, many went back for seconds.

Food - We looked at all of the venue options, but when it came down to it RCC had the most flexibility to mold to our vision and the greatest variety to choose from. We did a tasting at their kitchens and were floored by the food. It isn’t often that you remember wedding food for being good, typically you only remember food at the wedding if it is bad. We knew we wanted to have food that we loved, which we did! The BEST (according to everyone) part was the Chicken Biscuit Pie. Bar - We were excited about RCC because we dreamt of a bar that had a beautifully curated collection of gins and whiskeys. We had been collecting nice bottles of gin and whiskeys throughout our relationship and engagement, so finding a place where we could provide that but have mixers and a cocktail bartender available for us was imperative. RCC, again, crushed it! We shared the list of alcohols and drinks with the team ahead of time to confirm mixers. They chose a bartender specifically for their cocktail skills and even ensured the coordinator assistant was put on our wedding because of her bartending background, to ensure we didn’t get a back up at the bar. People loved the drinks, and there was somehow NEVER a long line. They were amazing. We brought the alcohol, and they brought mixers, glassware, the bar, napkins, etc. It couldn’t have been easier! Coordination - We weren’t planning to have a coordinator, I didn’t want to spend the money on it originally. THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS THAT WE PAID FOR! We had the incomparable Kayleigh Hernandez provide the day-of coordination for our wedding. First of all, she is the sweetest human being on the planet. You can say anything to her and she is going to say “of course, we will find a way to make that work”. I knew I was a bit of a Type A and intense bride. I had a vision for the day and she executed it to a T. I didn’t think of a single thing on our wedding day because we had walked through it all (Kayleigh taking a million notes in conjunction with my absurd binder) on our final details meeting and again at the rehearsal to confirm. She came in with her team to meet the venue team, I had everything out waiting for them and I didn’t even know they were there until about an hour later. She only came to ask a couple of questions to confirm last minute adjustments, but only to even ensure I had every single thing just exactly how it was in my brain. I periodically looked out a window to the ceremony/reception and only two times did I send someone to ask Kayleigh for two adjustments for my psycho brain. Not once did she even so much as grimace. I NEVER felt like I was too much, too nitpicky, too anything. Throughout the night, Kayleigh always made sure my timeline was running smoothly, my husband and I were comfortable, happy, hydrated, fed, and watered. At the end of the night, her team swooped in and cleaned the whole place. They were out before we had finished saying goodnight to our guests. I almost cried when she came for a final check and to say goodbye. Words cannot describe the peace she brought to our wedding day. We got to simply enjoy the day and each other and remember it all BECAUSE of Kayleigh and the RCC team. At the end of the night, sitting with my husband recounting the day, we both said it was the BEST money spent for the entire wedding. The day wouldn’t have been the perfection it was without you all. River City Catering is a must. Don't worry about their office being sort of small and not as flashy as the other catering vendors. Your food will be delicious from the time you do your tasting and, more importantly, at your actual wedding. We did RCC's cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, the Latin buffet menu, and had an open bar where they supplied the alcohol and bar tenders. All our guests loved everything on the menu and even my mom who is super picky had good things to say about the job they did in terms of presentation of the food and guest tables, organizing the pace of dinner, and the taste of the food. Special thanks to Kayleigh and the chef who worked with tons of food restrictions and considerations related to my guests. Kayleigh was super helpful with clarifying my ideas, questions, and updates. You will be happy with the planning and quality of River City Catering while not spend unnecessary bucks with the more pricey catering vendors.

We used River City Catering for our wedding buffet and used their bartender with our own alcohol. We loved the tasting that they provided. The guests loved the hors d'oeuvres and the food. And everyone complimented the bartender. Our only complaint was the responsiveness of the staff on updating the guest count, providing the questionnaire for us to update the linen count, and sending invoices. All our worries in the planning stage was washed away with the friendly service that the people the day of provided.

Let me start by saying that we ultimately ended up having a beautiful wedding rehearsal brunch. The brunch package we chose included quiche, bacon, and sausage, potatoes, fruit and pastries. The fruit and pastries were delicious and so was the bacon and the potatoes. Our server was also outstanding. The package also included a build-your-own waffle station! Unfortunately, we were extremely, terribly disappointed in the waffles. They weren't just dry, they were hard as rocks! Uneatable to be exact. No amount of syrup or toppings helped and nobody ate them. I cannot tell you what a huge disappointment this was! The build-your-own waffle station was the reason we chose River City Catering to begin with. I absolutely do not recommend the waffle brunch package! Also, our coordinator showed no interest in our event. She didn't even try to be friendly. I'd say she seemed bothered when I asked for guidance and basic information but that would imply she cared at all. I should've recognized that as a huge red flag but between the great reviews and amazing sounding brunch, I thought surely it would get better. It did not. They made continuous errors in the contract (i.e. the first page sometimes had the correct head count but the per person charges in the itemized section were higher and children were counted twice, the silverware count was wrong, etc.) Once they fixed one thing, something else they'd previously fixed would be wrong. Make sure you check every line item carefully! The morning of the brunch, I received a panicked call from the manager saying that no one was at the venue to let them in. When I told him the caterers weren't scheduled to be there for another hour, he snapped at me, saying that they needed two hours to set up. I had told River City multiple times that they'd only have one hour to set up per venue rules and they never questioned it, much less say it was a problem. The manager also chastised me, stating that based on my order, we were supposed to have two servers and blamed me for only having one. However, it was the planning coordinator who'd assigned the number of servers for our event, not me. We rushed to the venue which had graciously allowed the caterers in early. We jumped right in to help get everything set up. Between our amazing server, myself and a handful of my guests helping, it turned out to be a beautiful rehearsal brunch despite everything. If you choose River City Catering, I would highly recommend being extra vigilant in setting up your event and heed any warning signs you come across. And definitely do not order the waffle brunch package!

One of the best decisions for my wedding was hiring River City Catering. The food was so delicious! All our guests raved about the food and how great everything tasted. Kiara was my DOC and she was amazing! She made sure my extra decorations were all set prior to the start of the wedding, and she worked with me throughout the evening to ensure the wedding would run smoothly. From the food to how wonderful the DOC was, I highly recommend hiring River City Catering. I'm so happy I did!

I am so thankful my husband and I found River City Catering. From day one they were extremely friendly and professional. We setup a tasting, and were very impressed. There were so many options and we were truly able to pick/choose what we wanted for our event. Kailey was our main contact and she was always super kind and willing to answer any questions we had along the way. The day of the wedding the staff was very friendly and professional. They did a beautiful job setting up the tables and buffet. The food was fresh and our guests liked the food! We also paid extra for real china, cloth napkins, and charger plates. Those little extra touches really added to the overall experience and feel of our event. The staff was super kind and even cut/served our wedding cake for us. I felt they were very patient and provided 5 star service for us. My favorite side we had was the macaroni n cheese and mashed potatoes. It was super good. Thank you River City Catering for being part of our special day.

Honestly one of my favorite parts of my wedding was the spectacular food RCC offered! Cannot express enough how wonderful they were from fantastic communication to quality of service!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. The food and service were beyond what I could have asked for. They went above and beyond. If I had any questions prior to the day they answered so promptly. They had a great selection of choices for the food and linens. They were just fantastic in every way. I will always reccomend them for any type of event.

River City worked within my budget and they did a great job with the food. I just wish they’d cooked the steak more. Their servers were kind and attentive and they went above and beyond to help on our wedding day.

Our guests absolutely loved the dinner at our wedding reception! And what EVERYONE couldn't stop talking about was the appetizers at our cocktail hour!! We're so thankful for the hard work of Kailey & her team at our wedding, making sure us and our lovely guests were happily fed. They even boxed up all the extra food for us to take home and enjoy again! Thank you, Kailey!

I am so happy we went with River City Catering! the entire process was so EASY. We decided to have a taco bar, and I can't even tell you how many compliments I got how GOOD our food was! they showed up on time and knew exactly what they were doing. the servers were incredibly nice and were always there to being us a drink or help in any way they could! before booking, talking to the team, I could tell that they were going to treat my day like it was their day, and I couldn't appreciate that enough.

River City Catering was seamless and perfect vendor! We loved working with Kailey, she was really responsive and so very helpful. Our food was delicious, we stopped by each table at our wedding and people were loving the meal. They worked with us in creating an American/Ethnic flare of food. Really easy to communicate with and very accomodating. They worked with us for food, and linens, and bartending services.

Kailey was super helpful and organized throughout the entire planning process. We loved the whole experience from the food tasting, to the wedding decor details, to the final wedding day! Everything went as planned and we got so many compliments about the food and service. We can't thank River City Catering enough for a lasting memory of our wedding day!!!

River City was great, start to finish! We served cocktail hour and then breakfast for dinner at our reception, and everyone raved about the food! They are incredibly reasonably priced and easy to work with. They even offer day of coordination and I'm so glad we took advantage of that because Kailey was WONDERFUL!becerythung at the wedding was so smooth, highly recommend!!

DeShay and the rest of the staff were awesome to work with and their all really nice and easy to talk to! They helped to make sure everything went as we wanted. DeShay was also very helpful throughout planning process, attentive mading little notes about things we mentioned about throughout the planning process and when it came to finalizing everything she asked about even the little details I forgot mentioning conform still wanted those as well. The food was amazing everyone loved it. Everything went off without a hitch. It was a pleasure having them cater and all for the reception/cocktail hour. Would Def recommend them!

RCC did a great job for our wedding! The food was great and we were glad to have our plates served to us exactly the way we listed on our contract. We also hired DeShay for day of coordination! She was extremely thorough with us from day one of planning. She was unable to attend our actual wedding, so assistant Tina stepped in for her. DeShay had been so great at planning with us that Tina never even had to ask me anything day of the wedding. She knew exactly where and how everything should be set up. Everything was set up perfectly!

River City catering is fantastic! We used them as our caterers for our wedding this past October and could not have been happier. They were extremely accommodating and a pleasure to work with. The food was amazing and all of our guests raved about it. We also hired Kailey as our day of coordinator from River City and she was beyond amazing. She was very easy to communicate with, extremely prompt in responses, and gave great advice. Kailey ensured that everything ran smoothly on our wedding day including set up all of the decor and packing it up- I do not know what I would have done without her. I felt relaxed and stress free on my wedding day because I was confident that Kailey had everything under control. Most importantly, Kailey kept everything on track at the wedding and ensured that our timeline was followed, which was great since we were having too much fun to keep track of it all. River City was remarkable. The food was amazing! We were married a month ago and are still hearing how great it was. It was not even only about the food, but the service. Throughout the process, DeShay was phenomenal plus they are the best value. No tricking you with service charges!

I cannot begin to explain how wonderful working with River City Catering and Deshay was. I went with a Latin style buffet and my entire family could not stop talking about the food and how delicious everything was. The pricing was so competitive and Deshay was our day of coordinator. Our night was magical and everything we wanted and it wouldn't have been possible without her help. You will not be disappointed by their services!

We received many compliments on the food at our wedding. The staff members were all amazing and made sure the day/night went smoothly! I have no regrets about choosing River City for our wedding. Also, you don't realize how much you need a day-of coordinator until the day comes! They also offer these services with DeShay who is AMAZING. The coordination services came with alcohol transport which means you don't have to worry about a thing on your wedding day! DeShay made sure everything went smoothly. She set up all of the decor and table settings. Everything was beautiful and what I always imagined for my big day. Thank you guys!!

River City was absolutely amazing to work with. They were extremely responsive and always there with answers to any of our dilemmas. Even though they were our caterer, they went above and beyond to make sure that the whole evening went off without a hitch. They really cared and took the time to work with our other vendors. The food was amazing and they made sure that all the left over food was boxed up at the end of the night. Everything was always very clear and straightforward. DeShay was so nice and helpful through the whole process.
