My husband and I were extremely disappointed by our experience with River Run Country Club and would not recommend holding an event there. From August until our son's October rehe...arsal party, we experienced difficulties in communicating with the director, Chris Zoghby. However, we were so impressed by the room we had chosen to host the event that we persisted and were finally able to sign a contract for the front lounge and to work out the other details. The front lounge is a beautiful airy room with a vaulted ceiling, grand piano, and covered balcony. Thirty-six people were invited, including six children. When my family arrived thirty minutes prior to the event, I was shocked to find a golf banquet being held in the front lounge. There was no one there from the staff to explain what was going on. Finally, I found a small sign which indicated the rehearsal party was to be in the Zebra Lounge, a small sports bar in the back section of the clubhouse. This lounge was poorly lit with the main focal points being wide screen televisions, a bar and to complete the effect, a screen hiding some of the usual room decor. When finally I was able to find Chris and later his boss, I was told that an email had been sent to me late that afternoon informing me that the directors had upgraded us to another room, and we would not be charge for the room. As I told them that if I had known the venue was to be held in such a room, I would never have planned the event there. My outraged was rudely brushed off. The evening was further ruined by the mediocre food and minimal service.
