Joseph was the absolute best! He did our flowers and was the day of coordinator for our wedding at the end of April. He’s so professional, responds quickly to emails, and was a joy to work with. It would not have been nearly as perfect without him!! Would recommend again and again!

Joseph worked with me on my wedding that took place 3/17/23 at the Mill at Fine Creek in Powhatan. He was always kind and easy to speak to. Being new to wedding planning, I had a lot of questions. Joseph was knowledgeable about what I needed, and his suggestions were very helpful. If I wanted more of one color and less of another, he was quick to offer new details to support what I was looking for. I never had to wait long for a reply back, and he even drove out to meet me at the venue and make sure we covered everything. I was awe when he arrived on the big day with the flowers. The colors really stood out, and we received a number of compliments from both guests and staff. Since all the flowers were purchased, my guests happily took home the centerpieces to enjoy a little longer. Thank you for everything Joseph!

We worked with Riverwood Florists for our wedding and were blown away by their work. I gave them our general look and colors we wanted to incorporate but left it up to them to design the space and the floral arrangements. I was so happy with the outcome. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the reception was! The team is super easy to communicate with. We definitely would recommend working with them.

I agree with the reviewer who said 5 stars is not enough for Joseph and Rob. Their calm demeanor, gentle guidance, attention to detail, and patience made them the PERFECT wedding coordinators. And, the floral arrangements were gorgeous. All we can say is that before meeting them, we didn't know what a wedding coordinator did and didn't think we needed one. Now we realize we couldn't have done it without them. The wedding exceeded our expectations. Hire them!

Loved loved loved Working with Joseph and his team!! He made us feel like we were the only wedding he was working on, even though we knew in fact he was working on a different wedding basically every weekend. He was calm, cool, collected, and fun to work with and was INCREDIBLY responsive to all our questions throughout and in the lead up to the wedding. I was initially hesitant to hire a coordinator because I didn’t know what they did and I’ve heard other people say they didn’t feel like their coordinator did anything, but I am SO SO happy we hired Riverwood Designs. I have always had a flower garden, and was raised to love and adore flowers. This said, I had a strong and vivid idea of what I wanted for my wedding day, which included lots of beautiful displays. When we had our initial consultation with Joseph and Rob, I knew instantly we had struck gold. Not only were they sincere and inquisitive over what our vision was, they were also so enthusiastic over possibilities. They took our vision and ran. The day of, my breath was taken away by the magically magnificent masterpieces they created. I have never, ever, seen displays like them. My favourite flower, peonies, are out of season, and the glee in their faces when they were able to source them for my bouquet- priceless!! I can honestly say Riverwood Designs are the best you will find (and also the nicest people you will ever have the pleasure of working with!).

Words cannot explain how amazing Joseph and Rob are. We hired them for both coordination and floral designers. They were always available to answer questions, talk through ideas, or even to just listen. Wedding day they made sure all our requests were addressed and anticipated any events that could happen. I can truly say they are apart of our family. They played a huge part in creating an amazing wedding day for us.

Rob and Joe were so wonderful to work with! I had a grand vision with a small budget and they made it work perfectly. They were so helpful with coming up with creative solutions. I was amazed when the flowers were delivered and the colors/arrangement was exactly what I was hoping for!

Joseph was fantastic! I didn’t give him much to work with and he delivered! We had to have fake flowers due to our officiant’s allergies but I wanted a real bouquet for pictures and I’m so glad I did! Last minute I asked for a boutonnière for my husband and they said no problem! My bouquet was so romantic and was so perfect for all our pictures

When looking for a florist, most showed beautiful wedding bouquets, but Joseph and Rob stood out from the beginning with pictures that represented the story of the couples. They also sold this mother of the bride with their tussie-mussies! After our first meeting, they promptly sent us a beautiful, color proposal of the flowers for the bridal party and venue. We truly never even considered another florist afterward. We also hired Joseph and Rob as our day-of wedding coordinators. It was -- hands-down -- the best money ever spent! No one had to think about a thing : from when to show up at rehearsal; how to line up; how to process; where to sit; etc. At the reception, they ensured everything flowed smoothly, and they packed up everything afterward so that this mother-of-the bride was able to walk out of the reception with the last guest. It was bliss. If you want a magical, beautiful, flower-filled wedding that flows without a care in a the world, then Riverwood Designs is whom you should hire for your florist AND wedding coordinator.

Joe and Rob do an AMAZING job. I am terrible at planning/decorating; I knew I had a very simple yet elegant picture for my wedding, we discussed a few details - and they nailed it!! Not only are they great at their job, but they are also so easy to work with and quick to respond if there are every any changes/etc. I would highly recommend having them decorate your wedding, you will not be disappointed!

Rob and Joe absolutely NAILED our wedding vision. When we first met with them they even suggested a flower variety that my husband and I had talked about prior to the meeting. They also were wonderful referrals. They sent us to the best photographer and Day of Coordinator, when they were unavailable. We couldn’t have higher praise for Joseph and Rob! Unfortunately, we had to downsize our wedding due to COVID, so we didn’t end up getting to use their day-of services, but they were extremely helpful leading up to this point. Their experience and vision were just what we needed to smooth out the fine details of our plan, and our conversations with them always left us feeling relieved and confident. In this age of uncertainty, it is important to find vendors who are flexible and understanding of the times, and Joseph and Rob are just that. We are bummed that we couldn’t use them, but would highly recommend them to other couples.

I could not possibly give a more raving review for Joseph and Robert (Riverwood Designs) if I tried! They are kind, passionate, organized, knowledgeable, patient, and have all the best connections! They helped to plan our wedding and provided flowers and decor, and everything was absolutely stunning. These guys went out of their way to meet with us, prior to the wedding, out of town on more than one occasion and listened and sketched our vision and then brought it to life. My daughter said it was exactly what she envisioned that wasn’t easy, but they pulled it off perfectly!!!

Want the best! RiverWood Designs is it! I don't say that often or lightly...Joseph and Rob were there with us every step of the way. I often referred to them as my sanity! I didn't know them prior to the wedding but consider them family now! The wedding was postponed just days away from the day, due to covid. These guys calmed my anxiety and took care of everything. I know I drove them nuts ( I'm a little controlling) but never once did they make me feel like I was bothering them. My daughter had the wedding of her dreams! Riverwood Designs took her vision and made it reality. FLOWERS omg FLOWERS were just simply gorgeous, decor elegant and beautiful...endless complements from all!

We had to change our original plan, our colors, and our date because of the virus and shutdown, but they were incredibly supportive and by our side the whole time. Joseph and Rob, owners of Riverwood Designs, are absolutely amazing! They went above and beyond to make our daughter and son-in-laws's wedding at the John Marshall Hotel truly wonderful. Never having planned a wedding, we were a bit nervous about knowing what to do, where to find everything and how to bring it all together. After the very first meeting, with Joseph and Rob we knew we made the right choice for florist and day of coordinators. They listened to everything with great patience and made us all feel at ease. Joseph and Rob made awesome suggestions to have the floral arrangements do double duty during the ceremony and reception and it worked perfectly. Their suggestion to have the bridesmaids hold their flowers in silver tussie mussies was perfect. Each of the ladies had a special keepsake to remember the day. All the floral arrangements were absolutely gorgeous and perfectly complimented the wedding colors, venue and our daughter's style. Many of the guests complimented the arrangements and personal touches. Throughout the planning and to the very end of the wedding, Joseph and Rob went the extra mile, doing so many things behind the scenes to make sure everything was spot on. We found out after the wedding, they even made a special run for the groomsmen on the morning of the wedding. We were blown away. I can’t say enough good things about Riverwood Designs! Flowers were weirdly important to me and from my first video call with Joseph & Rob, I knew I could completely trust them to understand my vision and work hard to give me everything I wanted within my budget. I found that some other floral designers skimped a little too much when I mentioned my budget, making me feel somewhat bad, or weren’t willing to be flexible in their designs in order to meet my budget. Joseph & Rob were more than willing to work with me and were excited to hear my thoughts throughout the entire process! They grew big ferns over the summer for me in time for my fall wedding so that I could have ferns in the ceremony at a fraction of the cost. They were also very generous about waiving rental fees, as long as I returned the vessels for the centerpieces. They both have a great eye for design and color and I loved hearing their creative thoughts and working with them – they ended up giving me more than what I imagined my budget could get and the designs were BEAUTIFUL! On the day-of, I was simply floored at how beautiful mine and my bridesmaids bouquets were and the fresh flower hair combs we had were also stunning, the colors were so pretty. And I was ecstatic when I saw the rest of the floral designs for the first time. Our ceremony arch and centerpieces were lush, fresh, and gorgeous. I had SO many guests coming up to me to tell me how beautiful our flowers were and my bridesmaids loved their bouquets so much – I was so glad they were able to take them home with them! Joseph & Rob are also just amazing people. I was so excited to meet them the day of our wedding! They are both extremely kind, thoughtful, professional, and they are dedicated to customer service. Again, can’t say enough good things – choosing Riverwood Designs was the BEST decision I made for my wedding! The flowers Joseph and Rob designed for our wedding were beautiful. They took care of everything we needed, which was important for us, because we often got stuck on what to do. Rob and Joseph at Riverwood Designs were absolutely the reason that my husband and I were able to have our dream wedding! Riverwood Designs were not only designed our florals, but also helped us with planning, design, and day of coordination. I could go on all day about their amazing services, but to speak specifically about florals, they designed and executed the most stunning bouquets, boutonnieres, and arrangements that I could have ever imagined. They took ideas that we talked about and some inspiration pictures and created the most unique and stunning arrangements I have ever seen. Peonies are my favorite flower and it was my vision to highlight them in our wedding decor, and I was blown away with what Rob and Joseph were able to do! I have never seen bouquets more beautiful and they were so breathtaking in person and in all of the photographs. The large arrangements that they created for us were the anchors of the decor and they helped us to place them throughout the wedding space so that it felt lush and full of florals. They were also incredibly considerate of our budget and made helpful suggestions so that we could get achieve everything we were hoping, but still stay within our budget. They made the great suggestion of repurposing our bridal bouquets after the ceremony and photos to be in vases and part of the decor for the head table. This idea gave us the most gorgeous head table and helped us to use money we would have used for an arrangement on the head table in the design elsewhere. I have had so many people compliment us and tell us how beautiful they thought our flowers were, and seeing the flowers arrive on our wedding day was one of my favorite surprises! Rob and Joseph are incredibly talented, know florals (and the wedding industry) inside and out, and their only wish is to help create an exceptional wedding!

Joseph and Rob were a dream to work with! I wish we needed them for more than just our flowers. We had basically no knowledge about florals and knew little more than the style we liked. They were able to take our very limited vision and produce it into something gorgeous. We received compliments all night about the bouquets and centerpieces. Joseph and Rob were able to consider the style of the room, our desire to repurose the ceremony flowers, and seasonal selections and immediately draft up something. Joseph and Rob were incredible! I honestly didn't know what I wanted for florals - from types of flowers to the size of the bouquets. But Rob and Joseph envisioned exactly what I dreamed of, even before I knew what that was. All of the girls commented on the beautiful bouquets, and the floral arrangement on the alter was better than I could have imagined. I cannot recommend them enough!!!

Oh my goodeness - -where to even begin with these magic makers!!? Riverwood Designs truly made my daughter's wedding dreams come true. From the very first meeting , they were eager to listen and help the couple flesh out what they really wanted. They searched the globe for special flowers that had important family meaning and were so very communicative with us. We used them for both planning the event and floral and room decorations and were not dissapointed on either count. The event and all the "pre-wedding" events went flawlessly! They even helped us pick and arrange a family dinner venue the day before the rehearsal as we had many out of town guests! The floral arrangements were stunning - beautifully done. Many of the guests commented on how beautifully the entire space was decorated - not a thing missing. I cannot say enough good things about Riverwood. We are beyond thankful for all the work that Joseph and Rob our into creating what ended up being the perfect day! I was very uncertain about the types of floral arrangements I wanted for my September wedding but they understood my vision perfectly. Ok, 5 stars is not enough... Rob and Joseph are freaking magicians!!! I had to plan my Virginia wedding from Florida and that did not change a thing for them. We had our consultation through Skype and actually had 3 separate calls to go over my details. I sent them my visions from Pinterest, and I am pretty picky and they were on it. They had amazing ideas and are so creative! Painting leaves rose gold to match my theme, WHAT?! Wow, I wish I could just receive a weekly delivery of my bouquet because those were the most beautiful arrangements. I had SO many compliments. Thank you both for also adapting to the last minute PLAN B plan of rain!!! 10000% book these two. Can you come to Florida to plan all my future floral needs??! :)

I can’t recommend Joseph and Rob enough! From day one they were so accommodating to our needs and were so easy to work with! Our wedding centerpieces, bouquets, and boutonnières were beautiful and we couldn’t be happier!

Joseph and Rob were simply amazing to work with. Since day one they were patient, flexible, and extremely responsive. Since I was from out of town, we coordinated everything virtually (at my request) though they were more than happy to accommodate in-person meetings. Upon receiving our designs, they surpassed my expectations. And even though I decided to go with a bit more simple design for the reception tables, they still managed to make them look so wonderful and elegant. Highly recommend!

My mother and I met with Rob and Joseph at our local coffee shop over a glass of wine. I showed them my Pinterest page of wedding pictures, table decorations, and flowers that I LOVED. I told Rob and Joseph the details (that I knew thus far) about my vision for the wedding – how my bridesmaids were all wearing different shades of red, the venue, my desire for navy blue tablecloths with gold centerpieces, what my fiancé was like, etc. I knew the mood I wanted our wedding to exude but didn’t know quite how to execute it. Immediately Rob and Joseph were right in the thick of it with me. We were brainstorming, collaborating, throwing out THE BEST ideas!! I really couldn’t believe it. I was thinking, “where have these guys been my entire wedding planning process?” (I really wish I would have hired them earlier!) Fast forward to my wedding day – I am sitting in the chair getting hair and makeup done, and my bridesmaids comes rushing in telling me how beautiful the flowers the guys are setting up outside are. I could not wait to get out of my chair. When I finally got to see the flowers, they were just a dream come true. I really could not believe how beautiful the flowers were! Honestly, I would look at them and my heart would sparkle! The variety of roses and shades of reds were so deep and gorgeous; they tied the varying red colors of my bridesmaid’s dresses together and really made the entire wedding just beautiful. Rob and Joseph made my dream a reality, and then made it even better. Truly magical.

When my oldest daughter decided, the week after my younger daughter had her May destination wedding, to get married 5 weeks later at the end of June at home on our property, I knew I needed help. A good friend suggested Riverwood Designs as amazing florists and wedding coordinators, so we decided to feel them out. From the first meeting with Joseph and Rob, they were professional, personable, timely, and everything you hope for when you are entrusting someone with your daughter’s wedding. The thing that most impressed me was how anxious and willing they were to share ideas and be part of the planning. I had assumed that they would only be interested in setting up the actual wedding day and making that flow. I was so wrong! From the start, they were invested in making sure it was the most memorable day by sharing their knowledge, ideas, experience, connections, etc. They were so willing to ask for our ideas but to also step up and give their opinion when asked. They were our right hand men during those 5 weeks. They were literally on speed dial and texting when it came to our questions about catering, rental companies, groom’s shoe colors and brands, tent design, linen colors, ceremony location, flowers, ceremony and reception timing and scheduling, rehearsal… you name it. They helped with every single aspect and were always available. I really can’t speak highly enough of the level of care, quality and love that Joseph and Rob place in their work. As to the day of… it was amazing, magical, and everything my daughter dreamed of!! It was seamless without any glitches. Because of Rob and Joseph, not only was it beautiful- their flowers and table designs were out of this world gorgeous and still one of the main highlights!- it was also relaxed. Everyone got to enjoy the day rather than stress on all the minute details that had to be taken care of. I can honestly say that they were worth every penny and then some! Joseph and Rob, thank you so much for forever impacting our lives with such an amazing day!!

THE BEST FLORISTS EVER!!!! I looooooved working with Joe and Rob! They are beyond responsive, helpful, hilarious and creative. They met me on multiple occasions all over the state of Virginia to create my vision. My floral arrangements came out gorgeous and everyone raved about them all night. We went to about 4 florists before we found them and we were so glad. Most florists only know how to do simple bouquets but these guys know every trend and are on point. Book them now, you will not be disappointed.

The decision to engage the services of Joseph and Rob of Riverwood Designs in Yorktown was key in our ability to relax and truly enjoy our son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner party and the entire wedding weekend. As event managers, they worked closely with all of us to determine our ideas and desires for both the rehearsal dinner party and the wedding cocktail hour, performed the pre event decorative, culinary, décor planning, and logistics, then were present on site at both events to ensure both ran smoothly, timely, and according to plan. Joseph and Rob brought exceptional expertise to the process, including floral and other decorative design, ordering and procurement of rentals and consumables, staffing, and a reassuring presence during the actual events. They included a number of little touches that showed how in tune they were with all of us. Their highly professional and personable management style was evident in their watching for and seamlessly accomplishing any necessary changes and adjustments. Joseph and Rob’s degree of organizational skills were extraordinary and they maintained close contact with us throughout the planning process. E-mails and texts were rapidly yet thoughtfully returned. We live some distance from the rehearsal and wedding venues so Riverwood Designs’ close monitoring of the plans, preparations, and on-site presence ensured an enjoyable and memorable event. Engaging their services early made for a stress- free, beautiful event which truly represented the style the Bride and Groom were hoping for. Added bonus, they were just fun to work with. Well done

They were always available and willing to share ideas as well as check in with us to make sure that we were alright. The bouquets, arch, and centerpieces were absolutely perfect. Joseph and Rob knocked it out of the park for our wedding! From the very beginning of the planning process, they assured us they could create the flowers of our dream wedding within our budget and they definitely delivered and then some. They drove out of town to meet us for a design meeting and were in contact with us frequently leading up to our wedding. They presented designs to meet this indecisive bride's changing vision and were very accommodating. They delivered gorgeous bouquets (and a beautiful silk replica), table centerpieces, arbor garland, and more that were beyond what we could have ever imagined. Our guests were raving over how beautiful the flowers were. Now, over a week after our wedding, the centerpieces we took home are still beautiful. We would recommended Riverwood designs over and over again!

Joseph and Rob were awesome for flowers for our April 2018 wedding. They were extremely responsive during the planning process, always flexible and willing to work with our evolving needs, and gave us an amazing finished product on the day of. Joseph made the trip to Saluda to meet with us a couple days before the wedding to go over the bridal bouquet, which we really appreciated. They were very professional about setting up on time and cleaning up after, and they made some crucial adaptations on the fly to make sure we had everything we needed on the day of. Price is reasonable, and they will work with your budget needs. Can't say enough good things about them; I definitely recommend using if you're getting married in the area!

I can’t thank these two guys enough for everything they did for our wedding! From creating a PowerPoint of flower options that represented our personalities (yes that is right, they pick flowers for your wedding based on your personality & style, how cute is that?!?) to setting up chairs 30 minutes before the ceremony started. The amount of time they spent planning and designing the perfect flower arrangements for our special day is beyond what any other florist would have done for us. They even came with me to see the venue prior to the wedding, and completely decorated the reception space before the guest arrived to make sure everything was perfect! Joseph and Rob have amazing talent and their passion is evident through the amazing service they provided us throughout the entire planning process leading up to our big day. Dynamic Duo Designers at Riverwood Designs ! Rob and Joseph did a fabulous job on our daughter's wedding - an historic church wedding and an historic plantation reception. They worked specifically with our daughter to her desires for a simply elegant Virginia wedding and they were amazing ! The fellas of Riverwood Designs have unbelievable professionalism and talent. Rob and Joseph made our wedding more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. To say it was like a fairy tale is an understatement. Rob and Joseph designed the flowers for our wedding. They asked us a few questions and off they went to pick the design and the flowers. They kept us involved during the entire process! Their talents made our wedding whimsical, unique, and classic. My husband and I had complete trust in them which alleviated much stress during an already crazy time.

Riverwood Designs did an incredible job with our flowers, center pieces, and ceremony decor for our May wedding. They took our ideas and theme for the wedding and created the most perfect flowers and decor we could ask for. Joseph and Rob met with us several times before our wedding to touch base, talk about ideas, and make sure we loved every item for our big day. They responded quickly to any email or text we sent and always made us feel like we were their top priority. The day of the wedding, they were there early and had everything set up and ready to go well before our ceremony/reception started. As a bride, it was very reassuring to have such a great duo in charge of flowers and decor.

Riverwood Designs made me wedding magical. I went to them not knowing or sadly caring about many of the details. On my wedding day they had made fantastic center pieces that were somehow simple and elegant at the same time (with limes!) and my flowers had all of my favorites and were exactly what I had mentioned "kinda" liking and more. I was hard to work for since I gave very little guidance and they were exceptional. Strongly recommend them to anyone.

Rob and Joseph made my vision come to life for our July wedding. They completely worked with my budget and went above and beyond! They also did amazing calligraphy work for my chalk signs that were used as decor at the reception. Their expertise goes far beyond florals in the wedding world. I highly recommend Riverwood Designs!
