Videography service - Videographer: Kidd. In reviewing (again) other bride's experiences with Rivet Events, I'm not sure who they were working with. I typically am not one to leave a review, but felt it was imperative to give future possible cl...ients an honest review of my experience.
In short, you get what you pay for. Bride to bride(s), I would *highly* suggest to look elsewhere and save yourself the headache. If a wedding video is important to you to look back on and remember your very special day, this is not the company you want to move forward with. From the moment I signed with Rivet Events, I had an uneasy feeling about this vendor. It was poor communication from the start and the videographer, Kidd, was LATE to our wedding. He missed every shot, so he had me and my bridal party redo & reposition repetitively to recreate poses - brides, keep in mind, when you're wearing a heavy dress and veil ALL DAY, you depend on your videographer to be attentive and follow the photographer's lead so you DON'T have to do this. When discussing with Kidd my "vision", I tried to remain positive in thinking he would have experience working in the wedding industry and being a creative. To my dismay, I learned quickly after the first revision that was not the case. We received our "finalized" video in November - our wedding was in August due to SEVEN revisions. Seven revisions. He failed to include contents from cake cutting, the moment we said "I do", first kiss, private shoots between me and my husband, etc - important moments from our wedding. Instead, he chose to use insignificant scenes, such as a random "Mr and Mrs" sign at the reception that was unknowingly hung up by our coordinator. Moreover, he didn't get footage of the wedding ceremony or reception venue.
I had to ask Kidd to include shots of me and my husband together...?
Transitions were awkward, synchronization with music was awful (after the third or fourth revision, I gave up on this lol) - there were so many times I had to ask him why he decided "X" was worth putting in the video, instead of trimming and putting something else of more significance? My main point is, if you hire a "wedding" videographer, and he misses shooting the ceremony and reception venue, the first kiss, the bride and husband shoot, is this the company you want to trust to hire? Luckily, our photographer was able to capture and deliver those moments for us so we do have pictures to look back on. If I could go back, I would have splurged a little bit more on a decent, professional and more reliable video company. It is so embarrassingly bad, I will not be posting on social media.
