This venue was magical. We were originally supposed to be married on September 15th, 2018...but Hurricane Florence had other plans for us. The staff at the festival park (shout out to Mike Shipley) was more than accommodating helping us find a new date, and did not charge any additional fees to move the event. The day of the rescheduled wedding there was actually a Nor'easter, but that did not stop the staff from getting everything set up (they will put up lights you provide on the stage) and being present for any help vendors/planners needed during the reception. A few things to note - If you plan to be married here, you will have to provide all of your chairs, tables, linens, etc. The space is extremely versatile, and has multiple locations indoors if there is rain the day of. The pavilion stage and lawn allow dogs if you'd like your pets to be a part of your special day. It is a state facility so only beer and wine are allowed, no liquor.
Overall we had a wonderful experience here!
We absolutely loved our venue. We received so many compliments on how beautiful everything was. It was a great combination of being near the water but also being elegant. Everyone at festival park was very easy to work with and we had a great experience. We definitely recommend Festival Park as an amazing venue!
I am still in love with our wedding that we celebrated at Roanoke Island, on June 6, 2015.
The staff welcomed us from the start with excitement, accommodation and open minds.
I felt as though I could reach out to any one of them anytime about our wedding. Fisher is the lighting director and offers nothing but amazing ideas!
We had the ceremony on the front lawn, the cocktail hour in the back on the water, and the reception on the stage. All arrangements worked out comfortably, especially for a wedding of 100 people or less.
I loved that our guests never had to leave between events and that the parking lot was made private for us. You can be super creative with this venue! It naturally beauty, backdrop and lighting saved us $$.
I feel as though this venue is under appreciated and for its beauty and value, it is by far the best.
I will have pictures posted so you can see what we did. Thank you to all the staff for a flawless day.

We got married in September of 2013 and I must say this venue is by far the most dramatic and unique location in the entire Outer Banks. You have the run of many different areas to have your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at Festival Park. We chose to have our ceremony right by the water, then we went in front of the stage on the lush green grounds for cocktail hour and danced the night away on the stunning stage with the most amazing water views all night long! They have great lighting packages and so much space to make all of your dreams come true. This was the only venue that I wanted. The staff is top notch. They are very knowledgeable, helpful and took their time with me whenever I had a question. For everything that you get, the price is great. You will definitely have a dramatic entrance and an unforgettable evening if you choose Festival Park. I know that we did and we have the most amazing memories and pictures that I could've ever dreamed of!!!
I could not speak highly enough of Festival Park! For starters, the entire staff were available and ready to help from the moment I first called in with questions all the way to following up with me after the event had passed. Even if I did have to leave a message, my calls were returned within 2-3 days. The actual venue itself is beyond gorgeous. It unfortunately did rain on our wedding day, but with the stage boasting the perfect waterfront view, it was quick and easy to move the entire event onto the stage, and avoid having to move everything inside to one of the 2 conference rooms (which are fairly conducive for a large venue). Included in the price is a basic lighting package, which though there were more advanced options, was plenty on its own. Since it is a performance stage, there are many options for customizing with colors and shapes with the incredible light display available, and all for a reasonable price. If it does rain and you decide to move the event inside to one of the above mentioned conference rooms, it is also included in the overall price of the venue. As for parking, since it is a visitors center/museum/event center, with 150 guests, we still had tons of parking left! All in all, if you are looking for an outdoor wedding at the beach, but you aren't crazy about a sandy, noisy, beach wedding, including the option of a good indoor location should the weather turn, with PLENTY of space to party, you need to get married here!
