Beautiful!!Reviewed on 9/27/2010 Chelsey L
This venue was perfect for our wedding. We had it at the Robinswood house. It was spetacular at night with their twinkle lights and beautiful landscaping. The venue was VERY affordable and we saved a great deal in decorating costs because the venue was so beautiful on it's own. Many people commented on how perfect this venue was.
Beautiful venue!Reviewed on 7/19/2011 Fiorella D
We were married at the Robinswood House in July 2011. We had a beautiful, sunny day that made the venue stand out. We fell in love with the foliage on the grounds and the rustic feel of the venue. We did have a couple of times that the coordinator forgot to pencil us in for our rehearsal time, but other than that everyone was very helpful. The price is also very affordable. We would only change the hours, very short time span, we ended up buying extra hours so the wedding day didn't feel rushed.
Review for Seattle Bride Premiere PropertiesReviewed on 5/10/2010 ANNIE B
I loved that it had indoor and outdoor space - but more outdoor space than anything. We were married in a gorgeous sunken English garden - surrounded by flowers and trees. There are two patios for the reception. We had tables, guest book table, etc. on one and cocktail tables and dancing on the other. I would recommend visiting the location!;The wine list is horrible! The wines on their list are cheap and not good - you definitely would not want to serve them to your guests! I would recommend spending the extra money and ordering wines off their list.
The Robinswood House was a venue I was already somewhat familiar with before I got engaged since I lived near the park, so it was the first one I looked at when I started planning my wedding. It ended up being the only venue I looked at because after I visited I knew it was going to be perfect. The first floor of the house itself has a classy but rustic feeling, the second floor has great space for the wedding parties to get ready, the garden where the ceremony took place was large enough for my guests (120) but intimate at the same time, and the layout of the patios is perfect for dining and dancing. What I loved most was that we were able to take a number of outdoorsy pictures in the woods in the trails of the park (which was important to me since I love the outdoors) while still being in a convenient location in the middle of Bellevue. Joanna was such a delight to work with; she is down-to-earth and a true professional who had all of the answers to all of our questions.
Robinswood House was the perfect venue for our wedding. The site is absolutely beautiful to begin with, and the included setup plan makes it easy to move from ceremony to reception. The value is outstanding! Joanna is also a dream to work with – friendly, professional, and ready to help.
We just celebrated our wedding on Sept. 3rd at Robinswood House and everything was perfect. We chose the venue because it offered everything in close proximity: a warm, rustic house to greet the guests; a beautiful garden for the ceremony; outdoor reception area just steps away; and comfortable dining for our 125 guests. The staff were always accommodating throughout the period from booking to our big day. Joanna and Mike were always putting our interests first and made sure we didn't miss a beat. We used Greenapple Catering and had amazing food. Joanna and Mike made our signature blueberry sangria and it went fast! In short, if you are looking for a venue where you can have the wedding, reception, and dinner in a secluded, rustic, and beautiful grounds, I would recommend Robinswood House. Our guests were amazed, as were we!
This was the very last venue we looked at when we were searching for where to have our wedding, and the saying "save the best for last" couldn't be truer in this sense! Robinswood House is the perfect outdoor venue, especially for a summer wedding. It was so intimate and beautiful - all night our guests were raving about how perfect it was. It fits 150 people very nicely and has the added benefit of needing hardly any decorations since there are so many flowers and trees everywhere! Working with Joanna and Mike was so easy and fun. Joanna, especially, made the entire planning process easy for us. She is incredibly organized, responsive, and genuinely lovely to work with. I highly recommend Robinswood House all around!
We had our wedding at Robinswood House on 6/18/16 and could not have been more thrilled with our selection. It was the perfect combination of rustic and refined, intimate and vibrant, affordable and polished. Joanna, the venue coordinator, was so easy to work with and asked all the right questions to set us up for success. We also loved that you are able to wait till the Wednesday before your wedding to decide if you need tents over the patios. When the forecast said 80% chance of rain, we went with the tents through RH and were so glad that we did. Even though it did not actually rain on the night of the wedding (thank goodness!) it gave us so much peace of mind to be able to add them (plus draping and chandeliers) at the last minute, and then not need to worry what the weather was going to do. We had the most beautiful, amazing night of our life and it was fantastic to have it all happen at Robinswood House!
Where is the MINUS TEN STARS Rating on yelp for this one?! A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Thank goodness for people with LOW LOW expectations! No offense! This venue is tiny! The tell you can fit 100-250 people but it should only be for 50 and under. The concrete in patios has a weird layout & grounds are uneven. It doesn't flow well at all! Forget a processional entrance. There is no room for 3 people to walk side by side. Maybe 2 and it's still tight! Your photographer will not have room to take good photos. Once your guest arrive, your photographer will have to either climb on a stair or navigate through all the obstacles, tables, chairs, people to get good angles of your event. Not worth it! Forget about video. There is no room to film a video unles you want just one angle :) 5- Do I want to be OBLIGATED to use one of their EXPENSIVE and mediocre CATERING Services? 9- If you need covered patio you will need to let them know days in advance as if the weather in Washington State was that predictable, otherwise you won't have a way to cover your guests from the rain or hot sun. 10- Do I want to pay for overpriced linen rental? $17 each PLUS a fee for damage if anything gets a single spot? It's a table linen, there will be food handled, chances are they will all have spots on them, even if its' only one small one. 11- Do I want to have confetti or rice or something smaller than a rose petal for decor? If so, you are out of luck as this is not allowed on property grounds and you will be fined for the use and clean up. Joanna said she will take photos and even interrupt the celebration if anything was outside of what "rules." Imagine interrupting a Wedding because there is confetti or diamonds on tables? What a big deal! 12- Do I mind the OVERALL outdated look of the home? Starting by the bathrooms and "cabana." And the worn out buildings outside where tables and outside restrooms are? Seriously, no matter how fancy your decor is, this will kill it. 14- Expect nasty looks & annoying comments from Joanna if you want to come measure the property, no matter how nice you are, she will even shake her head wen she says "no, no, no, no" If you ask the same question more than once. I was hoping to have a video of this ready and her raising up one finger to complete "the look." 15- You are not allowed to move furniture, except for 2 Old chairs. 16-Interior of home is very old looking. Fireplace could not look cheaper. Con's -Joanna does not like it if your catering bill is under $6K because The venue/her doesn't get as big of a commission. 20% of Any catering bill you pay goes to the Venue. They won't tell you this until you have finalized your Catering bill so be prepared to have to pay and extra $1,000 or more for fees. Everyone is supposed to deny this in case you want to ask but this is how it works. You'll see it on the final bills. - Every catering bill you pay will have a 20% Service that can amount to $1-2K + only in a service fee plus another fee that's around $200-500 depending on the total of your bill. Additional to that well you pay your catering bill which won't be under $3k + fees. - Decor will get stolen!! Read full reivews on yelp. Those are more realistic. I ran out of room but you get the idea!
Memorable TimeReviewed on 8/11/2015
My son and his fiancee were married 8/8/2015 at Robinswood House and gardens and I couldn't have imagined a lovelier event. Thanks to Mike Burkey of Seattle Bride, and despite a last-minute decision to put up tents as insurance against iffy weather, the ceremony and arrangements for the reception went smoothly. The ceremony was in a garden glen at Robinswood, on the lawn with a gorgeous wooded backdrop, and the reception and dancing were on tented patios. Weddings are very stressful and this one was no exception. However, with Mike's involvement, it ultimately went smoothly and is now a lovely memory.
So Glad We Went with Robinswood HouseReviewed on 9/26/2014 Jamie G
I can't say enough good things about Robinswood House! The service we received from Seattle Bride was wonderful. Cate was very easy to get a hold of and completely honest and open with everything from the very beginning. We never came across any hidden costs that many of the other places we looked at tried to keep hidden. Mike was also great; he worked with us to get the wine list finalized with specific wines we wanted and even went above and beyond when we had an issue with the bartending service. This was a beautiful venue to have our summer wedding and all of our guests were super impressed. The gardens are beautiful! We definitely got a bang for our buck!
Beautiful outdoor venueReviewed on 8/15/2014 Lynn F
If you’re looking for an outdoor venue, Robinswood House is a beautiful location. Even locals aren’t aware that it’s there! It’s a hidden gem. We were married on August 9, 2014 and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. With such a beautiful venue, there wasn’t much that we had to do with flowers. The cost of the venue includes the table rentals, but most everything else is a package or a la carte. We did rent the whole day, as the 10 am - 4 pm or 6 pm - 12 am times did not work for us. We didn't want to feel rushed Cate was our primary contact and was extremely responsive, even if I wrote multiple emails in a day. Mike was the coordinator on site on the day of, and everything was set up as requested. We had even made a change the day before for the location of some items with no issues. You do have to purchase your alcohol through the venue, but we felt that there were good choices with the higher level package. We did use more white wine (warm day) than expected, but Mike brought out more, as well as more beer, with the cost being deducted from our security deposit. (This was something that Mike discussed with us prior to opening the extras). That did mean that I took home a few bottles of red!
Beautiful venueReviewed on 11/14/2012 Ruth Z
Our wedding was indoors in mid October and we had about 50 guests. The venue was cozy but not too crowded. The staff were helpful and quick to respond to communications prior to the wedding. I really enjoyed the day and I was so happy to be in such a beautiful place.
Great for day-of, lots of work leading up to eventReviewed on 10/05/2012 Sarah B
What a beautiful site. Everything was so lovely for our wedding. I wouldn't have changed that. I was looking for a venue that was a little more within our budget than most outdoor venues seemed to be, so I was excited to find Robinswood. However, the low price was because it was only for half a day. And then there were a lot of little things that kept piling up. They have tables, but they charge a fee to set them up per table. They have chairs, but they're only for indoor use, and their nice chairs are way more expensive than renting them, but they don't allow you to drop rental items outside of your rental time. They provide the alcohol (just wine/beer/cider), which is good and bad. You don't have to worry about providing it (and can blame it on the venue when anyone asks why there isn't hard a!)But they also don't allow outside non-aloholic drinks. Our caterer provided them for cheaper. A required list of caterers, so that was a bit of a bummer, but ours was amazing and within our budget. (Joanie's for the win!). The staff was really friendly and helpful, and I always got prompt responses to my questions. I guess I'd just hope that in the future they would work on the details with the bride a little more up front.
Beautiful garden wedding!Reviewed on 8/26/2012 Michelle L
This venue was perfect for my wedding size (we ended up with 68 guests) and day (July 21). The English Garden is absolutely gorgeous; the whole venue is surrounded by trees and flowers that make for a wonderful outdoor summer wedding. 6:00pm was a perfect start time for this day of the year. And it helped that the weather was perfect!!
Such a beautiful venue!Reviewed on 7/31/2012 Meredith C
When looking for a ceremony/reception site, we wanted a place that was already beautiful and needed very little extra decor. Robinswoood is that place! The grounds are kept so nice with beautiful flower beds and hanging baskets. It located in a public park but there's tons of privacy due to the landscaping and you don't even hear anything else. All of our guests commented on this gorgeous space. From the time we booked Robinswood to the day of our wedding, we dealt with 3 different wedding coordinators. Somehow nothing was missed in all the transition and we ended up working with Krystie who was SUPER helpful and very easy to work with. I was a little concerned that she wasn't going to be there on the actual day, but her staff was fantastic and everything turned out perfect. The only reason to not give a 5 star rating is the times you can book the space and the fact that they do 2 weddings a day there. The time slots are 10a-4pm or 6p-12midnight so if you want to have a ceremony before 7pm you have to book the whole day. We decided on the late ceremony and the timing worked out well in the end. Overall I would definitely recommend this venue to a future bride and groom!
Beautiful location, but...Reviewed on 9/15/2011 Erika B
I planned my wedding from 300 miles away, so I had a hard time finding a venue. I fell in love with Robinswood House through pictures online, and it was the perfect size for my small wedding. It was also one of the least expensive locations in the area, so I was thrilled. I attended the special event and met with the 8 preferred caterers, and I feel that the selection of quality and price is quite good among those 8 caterers. I immediatly put my name down for our wedding day and made a down payment. The only thing that frustrated me at first is that they were not upfront about their extra costs. I ended up paying for a security deposit that was not disclosed anywhere except the invoice I recieved when my payment was due. I had to pay several hundred dollars for extra hours, because a 4 hour time slot is not enough for a wedding. I also had to wait until 2 weeks prior to my wedding in order to reserve those hours, with the chance all along that someone might reserve them for their own wedding earlier in the day. I could have paid for the entire other half of the day, but I took my chances. Luckily it all worked out (not many weddings on Mondays I guess). The next thing that frustrated me was that the chairs on site are not included in the rental. You have to pay to rent them, and if you want them set up there is another fee (per chair), and if you need them moved during the event there is another fee! They also have tables on site for free, but if you need those set up you can be sure that you'll pay for it. The beer and wine list they provide is the only option for alcohol unless you want to pay corkage fees, and there is absolutely no liquor allowed. If you want a champagne toast, there is an extra fee. I am not saying that they are not worth working with, because everyone is extremely helpful and professional. The location is so beautiful that I only purchased bouquets and saved hundreds on flowers. The tent was expensive, but still on par with all the competitors prices and was actually in quite good shape. The area is well lit, so there is not much need for twinkle lights or lamps. All in all it was a beautiful wedding and looked exactly as I hoped, but it sure would have cost a lot if I hadn't found ways around those fees (I work for a rental company, and ended up hauling IDENTICAL chairs all the way to the wedding). My caterer, Epicurean, was actually what saved the day. They set up all the tables and chairs (for no extra fee) and moved them after the ceremony. They provided linens for their tables and the DJ table, and they helped my family clean up the site afterward. What service! I would recommend Robinswood to someone that wants a small, simple wedding and doesn't mind expanding their budget for random costs that pop up last minute.
Beautiful and inexpensive spaceReviewed on 9/13/2011 Jessica M
We had our wedding at Robinswood on Aug 20th 2011. The space was absolutly beautiful and the grounds we perfectly kept. Prior to the wedding, I attended many of the monthly open houses and found the staff to be very helpful... they were very patient and informative and even managed to be polite after my mother bombarded them with the same question over and over. They do make you choose caterers from a preferred list, but there were choices for multiple $ points. They also make you buy alcohol through them, but I didn't find their rates unreasonable. I really couldn't be happier with my experience there.
Beautiful Venue!Reviewed on 8/18/2011 Bonnie P
Beautiful place! Doesn’t need a lot of decorations if your wedding is in the summer because the gardens are amazing! Price is good but it doesn’t include much. No chairs, linen’s, etc. only includes tables. The time slots also make for a very early or late wedding. I had an evening wedding and it was so pretty with the Christmas lights but could have used a few more, some spaces seemed a little dark.
Overall, a great experience.Reviewed on 1/27/2011 Heather F
We held our wedding at Clise Mansion, in Marymoor Park, Redmond. Overall we had a great experience with Seattle Bride. They were very easy to work with, offered us great and quick information and were helpful and flexible. The Mansion was decorated for Christmas and we were allowed to use all the decor for our wedding which really saved on our floral budget. My only complaint would be that the free tables that were supplied were rather beaten up, and one even collapsed at the outset of our dinner. This could have been a human error in setting up the table, but it does seem that some of their basic equipment may need to be upgraded. If I had to do it all again, I would pick this same location and people to work with. They made our wedding beautiful and stress-free.
My dream wedding!Reviewed on 8/09/2010 Anne Z
After finding my dream wedding location, and then having to start all over again with finding a new location because the other one wasn't quite available, we stumbled into Robinswood House, by Seattle Bride Premier Properties. I fell in love with the garden, the size, the different corners and options. We didn't have to think too long about it, and booked it for a June wedding. We, and our guests were amazed by the looks, it was a true dream. Enough parking space (the location is right by a big park, and it was a rainy day - I assume on sunny days parking might be a bit tougher, but they did close of the parking lot for our wedding) Catering options are nice and diverse, Seattle Bride organizes tasting days, to present the 8 caterers that you can choose from for the wedding. The weather forecast toyed with us, but with the tents and flexibility of our contacts at Seattle Bride, we got a last-minute rainplan well worked out. Robinswood House was a big part of my dream wedding come true!
Review for Seattle Bride Premiere PropertiesReviewed on 8/18/2007 JAMAICA M
The Clise Mansion at Marymoor Park was a wonderful venue because it was so clean and classic. The hardwood floors and warm white walls were a blank canvas for our wedding. The fact that the interior is so elegantly understated allowed small historic details-- light fixtures from the '20s and beautiful windows-- to shine all the brighter.;Make sure you visit the site to see the measurements of each room in person, because the map is not perfectly to scale. Also, the lighting is lovely but does not work well for amateur photographers, who will need to use a flash.
