My wife & I had our wedding at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa Sept. 21st, 2018 and it was absolutely perfect! The ceremony under the Wedding Dome was beautiful and lent itself to some great pictures! We could also take a bunch of formal pics on the beach area which was another great spot. Sarah Komar (Director of Catering & day of coordinator) was a pleasure to work throughout the entire planning process making sure we had everything we wanted, all our questions were answered, and kept everything moving & on schedule during the big day. It was without question the best day of our lives & we can't recommend it enough to other couples about to tie the knot!

Glenn was unorganized and off putting. Several of my guests (including my parents) had incorrect names on their reservation. Several guests commented that Glenn was less than helpful and frankly rude over the phone. Very disappointed

I had my wedding on August 1, 2020 in the middle of the pandemic. I had to switch venues from Florida to somewhere closer to home for safety precautions. The day I called Sarah Komar crying about having to change everything at the last minute, she was so understanding and helpful and just made me feel much better about the whole situation. Even when it began to go over my budget, she worked closely with me to make it almost identical to what I was paying and getting at the other venue, but even BETTER! The day of the wedding went on without a hiccup and my small 44 person wedding was just perfect for "some" social distancing. The food was amazing thanks to their new chef and the staff was so attentive and sometimes the life of the party. Since day one they were so helpful and so inviting, I now feel like the Rod N Reel is apart of my extended family. They have a forever guest with my husband and I. Especially since its only an hour drive away from my home home. A great place for a staycation.

We’ve reached out (5) times since we got engaged the second week of January. Twice through the knot, once through wedding wire and twice by email. Never once did we get a reply. We live in calvert and it would’ve been a convenient choice for us and our guests. I can’t imagine how poor the communication would be trying to plan a wedding if they can’t even reply to an email when a party is actively interested in booking a venue. Very disappointed.

Thank you for your messages. My apologies that you did not hear back and I do ...
apologize, we recently updated the Hotel's email addresses.. If you could please call me directly at the Hotel, I would be happy to assist you! Congratulations on your engagement! Best wishes to you and yours! - Sarah

I am probably one of the easiest going people so many things didn't matter to me but probably would to others.
When we first booked our appointments at the spa even after sharing a timeline I was told my MOH wouldn't be ready until 3pm. Our wedding was scheduled for 2pm. They began reaching out to people on my list before speaking with me but my planner (on site)helped fix the timeline and issues.
I was not told until I arrived for our tasting that the construction project would not be finished and that they were changing the venue layout (which was my favorite part). I think my planner understood how important it was to me so they waived the rental! 😃
The food at the tasting was nothing like the food at the wedding. The tasting was not very good but the day of the event, it was amazing!
The hotel staff didn't know our party was encouraged to call in and book with a discount. We had several problems with this even though we booked far in advance
They were very accommodating for our need to have our dog on site. He was our ring bearer. They bent the rules a bit which was nice.
Everything all in all was fine. Other then the venue changing details it was really about other people in our party being bothered.
I have no been contacted by the venue since which (being in sales and customer service myself) seems a bit strange.

We were so lucky with the weather! We chose this location to get married on the sand and also because we had a lot of out of town guests so we wanted a place that had everything. Overall the experience was good. There were a few things the resort had to change on us after we signed our contract but they made up for it. The only challenging part was dealing with the spa but after I started working directly with the manager everything was fine. Overall we are happy with our wedding venue option.

When I first inquiry about this venue I was so thrilled that they provided me all the info and were very nice and polite. So I scheduled a venue tour right after and their catering sales manager said he will be there all day to show me around. I thought it was all set even though they didn’t even call or reach out to me to confirm as all the other places usually do. On the day of I texted the manager followed with couple calls but all failed to reach him. So I drove almost an hour and got there without anyone to assist me. Since I went there already I decided to check out the venue myself and found out it is rather a very small, incomplete facility and honestly the pictures online are very deceiving - not as good as what it actually looks like. I gave up having my ceremony and reception here immediately and drove back with full of disappointment. That sales manager never answered nor got back to me ever since. It is really disrespectful, irresponsible and bad business practice and I will not recommend this place to people at all.

We had our wedding in 2017 at this location and we couldn't have been happier. The day was perfect and they had everything under control. I felt 100% confident in their abilities and they really came through with everything. We even used alot of their recommended vendors and everything was just fantastic!

Perfect venue if you want the beach scenery without doing a destination wedding or heading to another trashy beach nearby MD. The scenery is beautiful! I had a summer wedding. There's an onsite planner/coordinator as well. Overall, I would choose this venue again. I had as perfect of a wedding as one could have. There were a few mishaps, but that's expected. And as the bride, I didn't know about any on the day of.
You are required to use their catering for food, which made it easier, but I also didn't think the food was as good as if we has gotten a separate vendor. But, I was willing to trade food quality for the venue! The appetizers were really tasty, and they can make any drink you ask for as your signature drink. The head bartender also provides suggestions and input on request.
I also used this venue for the spa (hair/makeup/nails) and for some hotel rooms. Sometimes the spa was hard to get in contact with, but with the help of the venue coordinator it all worked out. So I suggest keeping multiple contacts there if you use them for as many services as I did.
There seems to be high turnover with the onsite planners/coordinators, but my personal planner told me that should be expected. The transitions were easy, and I would up with Sarah who really helped pull things together, even though she was assigned about 2 weeks before my wedding.
Make sure you ask detailed questions, and keep your information organized. Sometimes, my planner and I were on different pages than the venue coordinators were. That's not to say anything bad about the venue, but there were just some miscommunications that are easily resolved by openly communicating, and not waiting until the last minute.
All in all, I would definitely recommend this venue, and do it all over again! So many of my guests loved the venue too. I live in Baltimore, but a lot of my parents' friends were coming from NJ, and they were all excited to have a little beach weekend away. There's not much to do around the town except beachy things, so if you're looking for a spot for an after party this is not going to be it. (unless you host a hotel party like we did - we got the biggest room... I think there are 4).
Definitely check this place out if you've always wanted to get married on the beach. It's technically the Western Bay, but it was PERFECT.

Absolutely amazing - I am a "control freak" to say the least and was beyond nervous to turn over every detail to a wedding planner. Not only are the packages that are available at Chesapeake Resort & Spa more than you could imagine for the price, but Sarah Komar, was absolutely amazing - she asked me every detail, right down to the type of napkin fold I wanted. I was floored but impressed. You will NOT be sorry, disappointed, and your day will be absolutely PERFECT if you choose to go with this company and location. The day before, was literally as smooth as possible, the day of, I was calm, not one worry, nothing - and it was all thanks to them, that I was able to enjoy my day with my new husband, family, and friends!

Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa is by far one of the most beautiful locations to have a wedding. It has all the frills of a destination wedding without the destination expense. My special day wouldn't have been as special if not for the continuous support and extraordinary assistance provided by Ms. Sarah Komar. She was extremely patient, professional and responded to any concern I may have had in a timely manner. Thank you for joining us in celebrating our special day.

I just had my wedding at CB resort and spa over the weekend and it was the best day of my life. Sarah (Director of Catering and day of coordinator) went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. My husband (yesss feels so good to say that now) even said that he would recommend this resort, which really says something because he initially wanted to just get married in Vegas! The rooms are a little pricey at first glance, but they are completely worth the money. Gorgeous views and so spacious-ify felt like you are on top of the water! Excellent experience and venue!!!!

Overall, the ceremony and reception itself went pretty well, despite the rain. Cheyenne attempted to move up the wedding to beat the storm, which we appreciated. However, everything leading up to the big day was more of a hassle than it should have been. There was a lack of communication between the hotel staff, the salon and our wedding coordinator. When my wife got her hair trial done at the salon, they didn't bother to make her an appointment for the actual wedding day (which would have made sense to do so at that time), so a month before the wedding she followed up and tried to make the appointment. They required her to pay for everyone with the same credit card after another employee stated everyone could pay separately and the staff was really rude to her (and appeared stuck up during the trial and she felt like the staff was looking down on her). The hotel staff was rude as well. I called to see if I could get an early check-in a few weeks prior to the wedding since I was only staying on the wedding night and I needed to get ready for pictures beforehand. The person said to call the morning of the event to make sure the room would be available and they would make a note on file for housekeeping. When I called that morning to request the earlier check-in, the front desk person said they don't note any rooms for earlier check-in's and when I asked if I could come early to see if the room is done the person said with an attitude, "You can try." I ended up having to get ready in my best man's room, because my room wasn't ready until 3:30pm. My bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the boardroom, but even though the room was reserved for 10am, the room was completely trashed from the night before and they had to talk to the front desk in order to get someone to clean it, giving them less time to get ready. No one apologized either, all the staff kept saying was that it was busy and kept making excuses. The only apology came from the person who was sent to clean the room in housekeeping and she even offered further assistance to my bride. The ceremony went fine, but for some reason at the reception, the kitchen didn't have the correct amount of meals making some guests change their dish at the last minute even though we gave them an accurate count 2 weeks prior. Overall, I am not satisfied with my experience at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa and would not recommend anyone else to get married here or even stay here, given our experience. I'm glad our vendors were polite and competent, because the venue definitely did not have their act together. Over-priced, under-performed.

My wedding was so beautiful and organized that I'm still amazed at how everything turned out! Lori, Sarah and Chelsea made my wedding weekend the most memorable day of my life! My husband was equally happy and cried at how beautiful the setup at the dome was! They made it so easy for me with planning and organizing. The day of, they made me feel like a queen! Not a princess, but a queen!! The food was amazing, scenery was amazing, and I can't think of not one thing that went wrong! It was the perfect day and I'm so happy I chose Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa! I'm sure when we renew our vows for anniversaries to come, that we'll do it all over again! (On a smaller scale of course, but we will be right back at the resort for sure!)

Spectacular! My daughter's wedding took place on September 6, 2015 at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. Our Wedding Planner, Sara was delightful to work with. Sara, was always available to address our questions or concerns. The venue - beautiful, food - delicious and hotel - clean, relaxing and meet all of our expectations.
The ballroom was decorated beautifully and met all of our requests. The food spectacular - our guests are still talking about the venue and food - and that they would like to have or had their children's wedding at this resort.
Again, hats off to Sara and her team and to Chef Rudy for the delicious food!

Our wedding at CBRS this past weekend was simply beautiful! Our coordinator, Lori, was there from our first consultation through the end of our reception. I can't imagine this day without her! She made sure everything ran smoothly so my family and I could relax and enjoy the day. Our ceremony at the wedding dome was georgeous. We had perfect weather, with blue skies and fluffy clouds for a backdrop. We had our reception for approx. 85 guests in the upstairs bay view ballroom. With 10 tables, there was just the right size left on the floor for dancing. The food was DELICIOUS. Especially the mini crab cakes. While beer and wine were included, we opted to leave a $800 bar allowance for guests that wanted hard liquor, and it was just the right amount. The only thing that was a small oversight (on our part) was that my mom ended up being the only person available to set up the reception hall (gift table, decorations, etc). We paid our florist to do the center pieces (so much easier!) and the caterers at CBRS set the tables, but my mom could have used some extra help with setting out place cards etc., so plan for that! We had SO many compliments from our guests on how they had a great time and loved our ceremony (even though it was a hot August 1st wedding). Since it's a full resort, my girls and I just went down to the spa for make-up/hair which was super convenient. However, I will say the stylists only did my hair to my satisfaction. I had to tweak my makeup after they did it to feel like it was right. But my hair was on point, and held throughout the reception and into the after party, for which we went out on the beach and listened to the live music, still right there on the resort. It's wonderful how everything you need is right there! My new husband and I already have plans to celebrate our anniversary there next year, and hope to stay in the same room on the resort that we were in on our wedding night (king ocean view suite with a jacuzzi!). I just can't say enough good things about this place. If you are within a reasonable drive, definitely check it out!

From the day we first visited the CBRS we knew we were in good hands! Everything was so easy! Sara was there to answer every question we had and everything we didn't think of...Sara did. My wedding day was perfect. The staff was amazing. My guests still rave about the food, saying thats the most food they've ever had at a wedding and that everything was delicious. Getting a block of rooms reserved for our guests was so simple. If you're looking for a destination type feel to your wedding without traveling far this is the place. We were able to keep the party going long after the reception ended. Thanks to everyone at CBRS, especially Sara, you're all wonderful!
Wish I could give more than 5 Stars!

I just had my Oct. 4 wedding reception at the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa. I grew up in Calvert County and during my childhood my family would usually go to, what was known as the Rod N Reel, for Sunday Brunch so when I found out the Resort was available for my Oct. 4 wedding reception I knew I had to have it there. This place for me personally holds a dear place in my heart and after my wedding reception it holds another place in my heart. The reception was wonderful! We had the reception in the Ballroom and we had about 150 guests show up, and everyone fit comfortably at the tables and there was plenty of room for the dance floor and the stations of food. It has been almost a month since the wedding and we still have people tell us how amazing the food was and that the view at night from the ballroom was just amazing! Everyone loved that they could go outside if they needed to cool off and take pictures of the bay or walk in the little beach. We took so many pictures of my bridal party on the beach and it was just amazing the way the pictures came out! As residents of Calvert County we take for granted these views but my out of town guests loved it! In the stations of food we opted for all kinds of crabs dishes and soups since Southern Maryland is known for Crabs and everyone loved it! Working with the Resort Catering Planners had its moments. There were quite a few changes in positions while trying to plan my reception which was confusing at times. There was a point when giving the last payment we were told me owned even more money than the original contract indicated, after investigating they figured out they were using a more updated list of prices...We had been working with the Resort for over a year shouldn't they know which prices the contract original had? There was also a small lack of communication between the catering managers and planners at the Resort. This caused some confusion and frustrations but everything worked out. Just make sure you get everything in writing that the planners tell you so there is no confusion. I might have also been a tad sensitive and becoming a bridezilla at those moments which made everything much worse. I do also wish they offered additional time in increments of 30 minutes and not just 60 minutes, an extra 30 minutes on top of the included 4 hours would have been wonderful! There are quite a few wonderful things included in the deposit for the reception site that many other venues would charge extra. Other then the small incidents everything came together in the end and turned out beautiful! Another plus with choosing this resort for a reception was the fact the hotel is right there so after partying all night you can just walk to your hotel room. Some of the out of towners made it a little vacation weekend with being on the beach and near the boardwalk. The resort had a little bit something of everyone and no one ever felt stuck. It was a wonderful reception, the scenery and food were excellent! If I could do it all over again I would still use the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa as the place for my wedding reception!!!

This was a great place to get married as everything is in one place (hotel, food, venue, and extra activities). Since I was having a wedding in March and weather could be unpredictable (luckily we had a sunny warm day) I realized that water is always beautiful. Only negative is that they only give you 4 hours for a reception. I think 5 hours would have been better (but you have to pay extra). Other venues I looked at offered 8 hours to all day.

I booked this venue about a year and a half before my wedding date and I'm so glad I did. Throughout the whole process, the wedding coordinators were amazing. Jayna was my primary POC and she was such a pleasure to work with. Anything i needed, she was sure to deliver. The venue itself was almost like a fairy tale. My guests were in disbelief at how beautiful everything was and how friendly the staff was. From the moment I arrived to the venue on my special day, all the staff knew who i was and they were so pleasant and made me feel so wonderful. At first I thought that this venue was a little pricy, but looking back on how beautiful everything turned out, i'd definitely do it all over again the EXACT SAME WAY. My husband and I are so happy we chose Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa and we plan on making arrangements to stay at the resort on an upcoming anniversary trip:)

The setting of the ceremony is amazing here! It was great that everything is onsite so you can stay at the hotel and get your hair and make up done at the salon and not worry about any of those logistics. My coordinator was quick with email responses throughout the process and was great to work with on the day of the wedding. I really didn't have to worry about anything! I was married on Friday march 29 2013 at the chesapeake beach resort and spa. Everything went very smoothly. Our decision to have our wedding at Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa was a GREAT one. Lori was very helpful and helped the day go smoothly. I was worry free that day and it was just perfect.
I received so many comments from our guest and family from the comfortable rooms, the friendly staff, the tasty food, and how convenient it was to stay and party at the same place.

The best decision we made when planning our wedding was going with the Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa for our ceremony and reception. We worked with Jayna and she was an absolute blessing to the whole planning process. We had a short engagement (3 months) and she made sure we didn't miss anything. Our entire day was awesome and better than I could have imagined. Nothing went wrong and Jayna and the staff kept everything flowing seamlessly. All our guests felt welcomed and everyone commented on how wonderful the entire staff was at the Resort. They were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend the venue to future couples! My fiance at the time (now husband) and I wanted to get married by the water since that is where we first meet. (We were both on the rowing team's at our college). We had looked at various different places and this was the best place within our budget that we were looking for.
The wedding coordinators are awesome to work with and get back to you right away with any questions you may have. I decided the week of the wedding to upgrade the chairs for my reception and Lori was able to pull it off with no problem. I was very excited to see that they even at the lights in the foundation and outside the reception venue matched my wedding colors! All of the guests loved the food and I had gotten compliments about having the ceremony and reception at this venue.
I would absolutely recommend this venue to any bride.

Weddings are a lot of money as we are all aware of and it is so nice to be able to sit back when it is all said and done and say that it was worth it. My husband and I only looked at 2 venues when we got engaged - Chesapeake Beach Resort and another location with similar water views. Chesapeake Beach was our first stop and it ended up being the only visit that we needed. The view speaks for itself. Our wedding ceremony took place on the deck under the gazebo that was built after we had already booked. It is georgous. What I found to be the most appealing part of the deck was that it was constructed with "Tech Deck" or the stuff that looks like wood, but doesn't splinter or have any of the flaws of outdoor wood. It made a much nicer surface for my guests to walk and sit on and it was more solid of a surface for the bridal party. This was something that I did not see at many other locations. I was initially concerned because there is an outdoor bar that sits right next to the ceremony site and it is open while the ceremony is taking place. I was pleasantly surprised that everyone was so respectful and they were full of congratualtions and well wishes once the ceremony was over. We even saw people in the hotel lobby the next day who told us that it was a beautiful wedding. I can not speak highly enough of all of the hard work that went into making the reception wonderful. When I walked through the ballroom the morning of to begin setting out favors and other random things, I was shocked at how awesome it looked that I stopped walking. The view through the windows in the Chesapeake Ballroom is worth a million bucks. The standard chairs were not my favorite, so I did pay for the chairs to be upgraded to a white chiavari chairs that were stunning. Personally, I am not a fan of passed appetizers, so we opted to have a soup bar instead. Everyone loved the Cream of Crab soup and I am pretty sure it was gone before the bridal party was finished taking pictures! I am also not a fan of wedding buffets (for odd reasons, like I never serve myself as much as I should and I end up wanting more! haha), so we opted for a plated dinner. We gave guests the choice of a Filet with a Crab Cake or Chicken stuffed with Artichoke and Crab. People said the wedding was beautiful...after the finished telling us how amazing the food was. It was honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten and we have already booked a room in December to go back and have made plans to go back for our 1 year anniversary.
During the rehearsal Lori and Jayna made sure that we knew what time to be where in order to avoid seeing one another before the ceremony. Lori was amazing with the flower girl and ring bearer and stood and smiled and watched the entire ceremony, which meant a lot to us. I was concerned about the promptness of responses for a little bit, but once I was there I understood that Lori gives 150% to the bride and the wedding that is currently taking place, so her email is not always on her mind. I would not trade this for the world. Jayna was such a sweet heart and came to check on me the morning of the wedding. I let her know that the table for the escort cards had not been set up and she had it done within 10 minutes!
My bridal party and our family stayed at the hotel the night before the wedding and the night of the wedding. The rooms are so clean and beautiful. We cannot wait to go back!

We had our rehearsal dinner at the Rod N Reel restaurant at the Chesapeake Beach Resort. The food was amazing - crab cakes were the best! We thought we would have one large table for all 35 guests, but we had several smaller tables, so the group got split up. But the service was good and the food was great. The view is very nice as well.

Just recently had my ceremony & reception here on June 2, 2012 and it was fantastic. The ceremony was outside on the dock right on the water and the reception immediately followed in the ballroom. The weather was perfect which I'm glad because they offer a backup site inside but I didn't want to have to have my ceremony inside. The venue may seem a bit pricey but compared to other local venues it was a great deal for the location and services. All the wedding reception packages include house wine and draft beer and soda and a room for the bride and groom the night of the wedding. There was no cake cutting fee. These are often hidden costs at various venues. So it was nice to not have to worry about those. We had a few children and when I asked they we willing to provide a different children’s’ menu. This was nice since we choose a station package that would have been too much food for the younger children. Lori and Kandi, the onsite wedding planners, were a HUGE help and very easy to work with and most of all accommodating, especially for our 200+ guests. We were able to do everything on site from the spa for hair and makeup, the ceremony, reception, and the hotel right there. No one had to drive anywhere which was great for our out of town guest.

I grew up without this. So, when I went to check it out, I was floored! So pretty and beautiful. All my guests loved the location and the rooms. The girls in the sales department were awesome, attentive, and made the day run smoothly! Willing to work on the hours and food because I had a non-peak time wedding (february!). Great. Definitely worth the money if you're doing an off-peak wedding. Loved the people, food, room, etc!!

These ladies have done tons of weddings. Many people get their hair and make up done here, even if their wedding venue is not at the same location. They really listen to your needs and were wonderful.

My hubby and I were married here on 9/4/11, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect day! Lori was extremely helpful throughout the year of planning; from flexibility (as my groom was deployed until a couple months before the wedding), to responsiveness (I always got a response back right away, even to my silly questions in quick emails!), to making the day go off without a hitch. She worked hand-in-hand with my planner, Megan and Rebecca, and we used a lot of the vendors she recommended without any hesitations! Even when we decided last minute to extended the party by an hour, there were no glitches!
The resort was absolutely beautiful- The gazebo wasn't there when we booked, and since we have moved out of state, I was extremely happy to see it when we arrived in town for the special day!
All of our guests had wonderful things to say about the food, the location, the reception... I am one lucky bride to have had such a perfect day! Thank you to everyone at the resort who made everything so special for us!!

Our wedding was on July 22, 2011 at Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa. Our coordinator was always on-hand whenever I had a question. She was easy to contact, either through email or phone. If she was out of the office, then the other coordinator was also helping me with our wedding. The rehearsal went very smooth along with our wedding day! The only downfall I had was that we had to set-up our centerpieces and escort table. But, we were allowed into the room the day before...so everything was ready the day of.

I really enjoyed working with Kandi and Lori at CBRS. They made planning easy and were very helpful with recommendations. The guests enjoyed the venue very much as well. The rooms were reasonably priced and you could not get a better view looking out over the Chesapeake Bay than the one that we had as the backdrop to our wedding.
I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to anyone. It was very reasonably priced and they have several all-inclusive packages to fit your needs.

I used the Chesapeake Beach Resort & Spa for my destination wedding on June 11th. I do not recommend using this venue for your wedding or other special events. My experience with them was horrible. First, even though I met with the event planner at the Rod N Reel Restaurant in person to discuss the details, nothing I asked for was executed properly. I also booked 4 rooms for 2 nights at the resort. The rooms were very small, very dirty and they charged my credit card double charges for the rooms. It took me over a month to straighten out the charges. There is little to do at this venue and the Bay view rooms are terrible. Ours overlooked and slimy bay front and empty tables at the back of the resort. Also, they seated strangers at my bridal table and tried to charge me for those peoples meals as well. They did not give me a separate room for my reception, instead they seated us in the main dining room with other guests, The service was horrible. We were not served our meals for over 1 and a half hours after seating and ordering. Then they had the nerve to try to charge my credit card without my authorization for an extra $515 in charges that were unexplained and unauthorized. I had to threaten them with fraud to get the credit back for the charges. I had prepaid for this event over a month in advance. I never received an itemized bill despite repeated requests and to date have not received one. They ruined my wedding and I will never stay with this venue again. The rates for these rooms are terribly high for what you get. Really bad value.

From the beginning to the end, the staff @ CBR&S have been very helpful by answering our questions through every step. It's not easy planning a wedding and they were able to guide us through most of the details. I personally thank Lori and Candy for coordinating our day and being very patient with us since our wedding party would separate a couple of times (they couldn't get enough of the site!). Speaking of the site, it's just a beautiful view to hold such a special event and we plan on going back. Many of our guests didn't know about this resort so it was nice to get them to enjoy the location. Not to mention, many of our family and friends want to go back to spend their weekends there! :)
I would say the only detail that bothered me were the disrespectful guests that passed by during our wedding rehearsal. I understand it was not blocked off (yet) since it was a rehearsal only, but those guests truly didn't care where they were butting in to and not to mention with their many buckets of beer. Yes, buckets. On our wedding day, I didn't have the pleasure of looking out to see if there were any "intruders" in the ceremony area because I was busy with my girls. But I heard through the grapevine there were a couple of people that shouldn't have been there. It was good to hear that the staff @ CBR&S let them know right away they were in the wrong place. :)
Overall, it's a beautiful location and can't wait to go back!

Although I am from Calvert County and already knew a ton about the Chesapeake Beach Resort and Spa, the staff blew away my expectations!!! Kandi and Lori are amazing to work with and make sure that you are relaxed throughout the entire experience. I have gotten a ton of feedback from my guests and they absolutely raved about the food and the venue. (New carpet, new wallpaper, and an amazing view of the bay!!)
The only drawback would be the "rainy day options". Since they use the upstairs for bingo if you are getting married on a Friday that is not an option. The outside tent was pretty small for a wedding of 170, but it all worked out in the end- rainboots and all!! :)

The resort was very nice with a great view and nice (although pricey) spa services. The beach is actually not in walking distance but it is a very short drive. The beach is very small and, while we were there, there were warnings posted that the level of bacteria in the water exceeded the limits and swimming was not recommended.
We went to a restaurant/bar called Mango's which was really nice and took a limo back to the hotel for very very cheap. (I believe the limo company and hotel had an arranged deal).

I can not give enough props to the Chesapeake. I recently had my July 4th wedding at this location and my guests are still raving about it. I will be honest, we randomly picked the location and ended up with the best ceremony and reception that we could ever imagine. With a little over a year to plan, Lori Kirby-Medlin and Mary Donovan were unbelievably responsive with my thousands of email requests. They worked with us to give the exact look and feel that we were going for. We had our wedding the weekend of July 4th which was perfect, I was a little nervous since the area holds a big holiday celebration but I wouldn't have wanted it any any other way. We had our rehearsal dinner on Saturday at the Boardwalk Cafe, we had our own area for the wedding party and were able to enjoy the bands and the crowd, not only that but we had a perfect view of the fireworks display. The following day was the ceremony and the reception. It was absolutely everything that I wanted, Lori managed the guests and the wedding party so well, and helped me get my bearings before walking down the aisle :) The food from the Rod and Reel was delicious, and the service was amazing. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for an outdoor ceremony, great food, and excellent service. Most of our guests couldn't get enough of the place, which was wonderful, there was so much for them to do that we didnt have to worry about making sure they were entertained for the entire weekend! A lot of folks have already told us that they have recommended other friends and families to have weddings there and also are planning family reunions. I am in the middle of taking a poll to see how many folks would go back next year to help celebrate our 1 year anniversary with us! I am looking forward to going back real soon :)

Located just off the Chesapeake. The reception room has large windows so that you can continue to take in the view after the wedding ceremony. The sunset made for gorgeous photos!;AIR CONDITIONING! We think the restaurant turned off or turned up the thermostat after the closing time of the restaurant, while our reception was still going. Good thing we made fans as part of our wedding favors!
