like a fish out of water planning a wedding, but Nicole made the whole process a breeze. She truly cares about her work and making your event exactly what you want it to be. On the actual day of the wedding, everything came together flawlessly, and we were lucky enough to have perfect weather. It was truly a perfect day, and I know that choosing the Roostertail was a big part of why it was so perfect.

We had zero complaints after the wedding, everything went smoothly and most importantly because of her all of our guests had fun. The staff was incredible and so helpful the day off, everyone commented on how they were all so nice and funny. The food was to die for especially the appetizers. Our dream wedding was able to come to life because of Nicole and Roostertail.

sister and my parents’ weddings weren’t beautiful, I just wanted to be different.  Shawna, the event manager at the Roostertail, assured me that I would have an entirely different wedding and she delivered. Prior to the wedding, I was able to chose from several different color schemes for table cloths and center pieces to complement the concept my husband and I designed, a large rising dance floor, fountains that went off during our first dance, a state-of-the-art sound system throughout and the venue supplied the Chiavari chairs and matching chargers, I did not have to rent anything. This saved us over $1,000! The food and drinks were amazing, with more choices than I remembered from my sister’s wedding. The package that we used also had several choices for passed h’orderves, an open bar and a few packages we added on, such as a Moscow Mule Bar, late night waffle bar, coney dogs, pizza and a coffee/ice bar. My favorite was the Moscow Mule Bar! The best part of the event was the staff, who were very friendly, and which several of my guest commented on. You always hear of brides saying they never ate anything at their wedding, I can assure you that is not the case at the Roostertail. There was a wonderful gentleman, Darnell, who I believe was assigned to my family to ensure that we ate, and our glass was always full. When I first got there, he introduced himself and asked what our favorite drinks were, then brought me both drinks I said I like so we could try them. When my glass was getting low (or more often when the ice would melt because I was running around) Darnell would bring a fresh drink. He would come up to me and say something like, “you need to sit down and eat” or “if you don’t eat now, your schedule will be delayed.” (Which was true, and there was a schedule.)   I could go on and on, but the most important things about the wedding was our guests had an amazing time, the venue looked wonderful, and we had the most memorable night of our lives. So, thank you to the Roostertail staff for giving us a stress free wedding!

This is a place with a rich history and always has been a star of Detroit. Shawna is very accommodating wedding planner. The food, the staff are wonderful. You can’t go wrong with the gorgeous Roostertail!

a pretty big bump in the planning process when I was living out of state, however when push came to shove and tensions/emotions were high the entire staff became involved. The Roostertail exceeded our expectations in everyway possible! In addition to the support and care they put forth to make our day AMAZING, they have welcomed my husband and I into the family. After hosting our reception here we have been included and invited to multiple events providing us the opportunity to reminisce on the best day of our lives! 💕

Oh my goodness. This girl endured my constant calls and emails and handled my organization overload with ease! There isn’t a detail this girl missed on our wedding day…plus she’s super sweet and adorable and a joy to talk to! The same went for the rest of the staff that helped on our wedding day. I wish I could remember all their names because they were all SO nice and made sure that each and every guest was attended to. We received so many compliments on the location, the food, the atmosphere, but most of all, the staff and how friendly and how at home everyone felt! We cannot thank each of them enough for making our day so special! The food and drinks – A++++. We had plated dinners with the option of chicken piccata, salmon or a spice rubbed sirloin with bordelaise sauce. All had ravings reviews. We did red skinned mashed potatoes and green beans as our sides. The potatoes were to die for! We started off with a salad as well with baby spinach, red onion, dried cherries, julienne pears and an apple cider vinaigrette. For cocktail hour, we had the grilled cheese with tomato bisque soup (they serve the cups in the most adorable soup cups that everyone was so tickled about), fried shrimp, and the bruschetta. We were also treated to cocktail shrimp and lampchops that I didn't try but I heard were out of this world! After dinner, the staff surprised us with homemade sugar Christmas cutout cookies and the most fabulous hot chocolate with kahula! Through ALL this deliciousness, Darnesha and team made sure that my hubby and I always had a drink in hand and that we were well taken care of food wise. She even brought down appetizers to the family portrait area during cocktail hour to ensure that we didn’t miss out on the amazingness their staff had created! I could seriously rave on and on about the Roostertail, it’s staff and it’s service. We had the most incredible night and not one person at our wedding had a bad experience and raved about it being one of the best weddings they had ever been to. It was a magical evening and Adam and I felt like we were accepted into the Roostertail family and have never felt so loved and taken care of as we did on that day! Plus, the Roostertail had a snow machine that we frolicked in afterwards before heading out to the car with Darnesha – such a fun gal! If you’re having a big or a small wedding, the Roostertail has the space you need in a beautiful location and a staff that truly goes above and beyond what is expected of them. I highly highly highly recommend it!

entire planning process considering the short time we had available to make it happen. Shawna was very professional and worked extremely well under pressure to plan and coordinate the big and the smallest details for our big day in less than three months. Throughout the weeks leading up the wedding, she went above and beyond the services required. The wedding day was as SPLENDID as I hoped it would be and more. My main goal was to not have to worry about anything during my wedding day and Shawna, her assistant Sydney and the entire Roostertail staff made that possible. My husband and I were overwhelmed with joy. The reception hall was decorated beautifully, glamorous with a touch of elegance. We were amazed by every small detail; it was truly everything we expected and more. My family and guests later commended on how professional and efficient Shawna was through the rehearsal and the follow though of the event. I would recommend the Roostertail to anyone looking to have a well-organized, thoroughly planned special event. We are blessed and beyond happy with how our perfect day turned out.

for my first dance! It was truly a Fairy tail Wedding. I recommend the waffle station- my guests loved it! Shawna is awesome, our wedding was on time and ran very smooth. She went above and beyond my expectations by designing a signature cocktail for my guests and adding the cutest decorations. Her assistant Amber was always very helpful. My husband and I want to thank the whole Roostertail staff for pulling together a beautiful wedding.

We would highly recommend this location for hosting a reception. It’s a diamond among the rough and truly allows for guests to really enjoy themselves on the Detroit riverfront.

The food was excellent, the drinks were perfect, the candy bar was magical and the Marine Room was classy and elegant. From the color changing fountains to the center pieces, from the corresponding lights to the waitstaff and how they handled themselves. It was absolutely amazing, beyond our expectations.
