irst trial didn’t know how to do hair. She had told the salon multiples times she only does makeup but they kept giving her appointments for hair. She did my makeup okay but I was left without a hair trial that day. She also ended up quitting so I had to book new trials. I had to pay for all of them and wasn’t offered any kind of compensation for the situation. I booked the “grooming the groom” package for my fiancé which the website said included a haircut, eyebrow waxing and a manicure. The day of my fiancés appointment they did not have him down for a manicure and Marie told me it was not included. The next day was my wedding day so I showed her the website and she offered a manicure a different day. He was only getting a manicure since we were getting photos taking of our hands so that did nothing. I’m not sure how the “wedding coordinator” didn’t know what was included in part of the wedding services. They also finished my hair late so we missed out on getting photos before the ceremony and had to rush to take all of them after. I am extremely disappointed with my experiences here and do not recommend booking with them.

The girl on the phone kept saying they could fit me in at 7pm - I told them several times these were for a photo session at 4:30pm. Plus, the stylist who texted me said she was feeling sick all day and never went in to work, so this wasn’t a last minute emergency. She just didn’t bother to give me any notice. Stay away - if they can’t get it together for my engagement photos then I don’t trust them for a wedding day. NOT WORTH IT!

I called the week of the wedding to see if I could add a few people (an aunt and personal attendant) and they brought in an extra stylist to make sure everyone's hair got done AND we got out in time for pictures, even though that wasn't part of the original plan! They were very flexible and made sure to get everyone ready on time. A special shout-out to Jessica, who did my hair. I went in for a hair trial and we found out my hair was going to take longer than anticipated, so she re-arranged the schedule the morning of the wedding so she had an extra hour to work on my hair and it turned out AMAZING! She listened to my ideas, took her time, and I love how my hair turned out. Overall, Roots Salon was a great choice for our wedding hair styles and I highly recommend!

ut reading the email that was sent. Once everything was booked I went in for my trial. As soon as I sat down my stylist Randi was complaining she had to come in early that morning for a bride with a ridiculous amount of bridesmaids. I showed her 4 photos of how I wanted my hair done including one of my hair done just like it from a wedding I was in last year. After finishing it looked terrible not even close to what I showed her and she insisted that my hair couldn't do what I was asking. Even though the sample photo I showed her was of me with my hair just like that! She was so rude I ended up in tears. Thankfully Abby saw I was upset and stepped in to make the experience better. She did a great job. Noah did my make up. She was AMAZING! The day of everyone else that worked with my girls did a great job. Just forewarn you the booking process is very flawed with the current management at this location.

bagels in the morning which was fun and made it a little more special! They were organized and sent a schedule out to me months before. I had Abby as my hair stylist, and I was very happy with how it turned out! I recommend doing a hair trial to test various updos because I ended up going with something completely different based on how my hair trial turned out. Abby was very accommodating to my late hair-style change and she did a great job! My bridesmaids all loved their hair as well. Only suggestion is try to pay ahead of time because we were held up when we all tried paying before we left. I recommend them to anyone getting married in the Milwaukee area!

I brought (it was #pinterestnailedit bad) not to mention the curls were basically flat by the time I got to my car. Was in a hurry so didn't have her redo it but at the church my sister curled my hair and redid the updo. Total waste of $$ but A for effort? The other girls hair looked fine-- maybe my hair is just hard to work with?

e trial a few days before the wedding since that was the only time we were back in MKE. Everyone at Roots was unbelievably helpful and patient! I had gotten my blonde hair highlighted back in Austin the week before we left for MKE so I wouldn't have to spend time on that while back home. Unfortunately, my hair didn't even look like it had been highlighted! I called the girls at Roots to see if they could maybe fit in a highlight right before my hair and makeup trial. They were super nice about fitting me in, and the highlights turned out great. I had not had much time to think through my hairstyle for the wedding, and Ashley was super patient while we figured out how I wanted my hair to look. She was super sweet and made me feel very comfortable with requesting tweaks to the hair and makeup. For the day of the wedding, three stylists came to our suite at the Hilton and did all five bridesmaids, both moms, and myself. Everyone's hair and makeup looked fantastic, and we had tons of fun. It was a muggy day, and I had full hair and makeup for over 14 hours - and it still looked great after millions of photos and tearing it up on the dancefloor for hours! I would absolutely recommend Roots - and definitely have them come to you if you can, it is well worth the negligible cost. The morning of having our hair and makeup done was so relaxing and fun!

ns reached out to let me know that the Third Ward location was closing, but we could either go to another location (Brookfield or Greendale), go to EVO ping pong bar since they had an arrangement with the owner, or they could come to us at the hotel we were staying at for same price. Obviously, I chose to have them come to us. I had a hair and makeup trial six weeks before the wedding and really LOVED what my stylist did (she did both my hair and makeup). She listened, looked at inspiration pictures with me, had some minor suggestions, and worked hard especially on makeup to find a look I loved. I was pleased, it and I figured we were all set. However, the day of, it sort of seemed like she didn't even have the slightest idea where to begin. I realize there had been a pretty long gap between the trial and the wedding, but I was still expecting her to semi-remember what tools she used and what the overall look was that we agreed upon. I ended up showing her pictures of the hair trial and she tried to recreate we we did, but she used entirely different tools and it just wasn't the same. Not necessarily bad...just not quite as good as before. I wasn't upset as much as I was just baffled as to why she seemed to not have a clue how to begin. All in all, it worked out. My hair was very tight, and looks a little stiff in some pictures, but that's better than falling apart. I just don't quite know how we went from a great, personal experience to her barely remembering who I was and what to do with my hair and makeup. I still think Roots was a great value, but I would likely have a trial much closer to the wedding so that the stylist didn't literally forget what we did in between.

for all of my bridesmaids. During the booking process I had asked the Wedding Coordinator several times if two stylists would be enough for the amount of time we had. She said yes, but said I could add additional stylists if I wanted. Because she seemed confident we'd get everyone done I stuck with two. Unfortunately, three of my bridesmaids did not get hair or make-up done and did it themselves. One of the stylists offered to stay late, but we needed to leave for pictures. Additionally, payment was not fully explained to me as I didn't realize I had to pay a travel fee for both stylists - seems silly to me as they both were coming from the same salon. We loved our stylists, but was frustrated with the process.

Marcella, who coordinates all the wedding parties, is so helpful and is easy to get in contact with. She took care of everything. And the bagels, coffee, and mimosas are a great way to start the wedding day! :)
